BT sport subscription

Just received email from BT saying my free subscription for BT sport comes to an end in July. I have to click on link to renew my subscription to BT broadband for another 12 month contract to receive BT sport again. Is the sport subscription free again it doesn't make this clear anywhere ?

I think you can only cancel BT Sport on Sky over the phone. See the Contact Us link at the top of the forum pages.
Is there a free BT Sport 1 only option on Sky for BT broadband customers? The £5 is for the full set of channels including the new BT Sport Europe channel.
See  https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Sport/BT-has-announced-its-new-packages-for-BT-Sport-for-the-15-16/td...
which says
"For those who don’t wish to take BT Sport Europe, BT will give its broadband customers the option of receiving BT Sport 1 for free for a third season. This channel will show all 38 live Barclays Premier League matches as well as the Aviva Premiership and SPFL."

  • ICal, Snow, and Yahoo Sports Subscriptions missing events or will not sync

Since upgrading to Snow, all of my Yahoo Sports subscriptions no longer appear on the calendar. I have tried refreshing and re-adding but the events are still missing. Please help, I don't want to miss a football game!

This is a bummer. As far as I can tell it's just the Yahoo calendars. Just as baseball season ends and football season begins. Dangit!

  • Should my BT Sport subscription show in MyBT?

Bit concerned about this. I ordered BT sport online and obviously got an order number and printed off all the details etc. But i would have thought it would appear in MyBT under the TV section.
I just dread turning on the channel on August 1st and it not being there and then some delay while it gets sorted out.
Does it appear for anyone else? Or is there another way to confirm that the order is there and pending? I notice when I order anything else, such as calling features, it shows as a pending order.

    Hi
    BT SPORT FAQ says..
How do I track my BT Sport order?
Unfortunately it's not possible to track an order for BT Sport online. We will have sent you an email to confirm your order which contains the information you need.
If you've ordered BT Broadband or BT TV, you can track these products using our order tracker, but you won't be able to see the BT Sport part of your order.
Until they take your sub it cannot show up in My BT....
and as we cannot track it (yet )
    Order not trackable.
Sorry this order cannot be tracked online.
    we all won't know...
Since you have proof of ordering before 1 Aug you have legally free for a year BT Sports HD.
And businesses are supposed to trust BT to help run their business on-line when obviously not all the BT IT systems talk to each other

  • Sports Subscription Price

I am going to Cancel my sports package as I do not want the premier football and I feel I am paying a premium for this. Do sky have anyplans to provide a cheaper option for users that have no interest in Premier football but want to watch golf and a few other sports. If not its goodbye as BT now has the Champions league  and I do not see Skys prices going down

That may well be true, but I'm guessing that the costs paid by Sky for PL Football & F1 coverage are the significant proportion of their overall budget. Which would mean that the costs paid by Sky for coverage of the remaining sports are proportionately smaller, so I'm sure we can all see where the OP is coming from with his point of view! Yes, I'm sure that's right, and I certainly can see where he or she is coming from. The problem is that from a business point of view how much could they lose from such a move, and what price point would customers think would be suitable for a non football package? I'll wager that a customer idea of a suitable price would differ from Sky's! Yes, they may well pick up a few non football customers, but how much revenue would they lose from people currently subscribing that would move to the lower package?  I may be wrong but I would like to bet that they've already done their sums and come to the conclusion that they would lose more revenue than they would gain.

  • £30 Activation Fee BT Sports - Sky

Just enquired about getting BT Sports added on as I am now a Sky customer.
I have previously been with BT and well, the old adage if you've got nothing good to say don't say anything at all definatley applies. Sky are simply on another planet for TV and customer service. Fibre is 50/50, both are as good as each other.
But Jesus, £30 activaton and £16/17 for HD. Seriously cannot believe many people are coughing that up on top of a Sky Sports subscription.
I can deal being wihtout it just now but seriously gonna miss the CL/EL and some of the Scottish/English football next season. But simply cannot afford both and that activation fee is a killer.
    Sad times.

    That's not bad actually.
Not sure why the lad on the phone couldn't have advised me of this?
No activation fee, free HD for 3 months & free 2nd box for 3 months too.
The only thing that bothers me is the 12 month contract due to the fact BT will probably do some good offers when the CL/EL starts next season as I heard there will be separate channel for that and it'll be a bolt on so I'll be paying for this and CL/EL separate on top of HD.
Must be a bundled deal of sorts on the horizon, would be happy to enter a 12 month at that point. Just too many ifs & buts just now.
    Thanks though, good for thought.

  • BT Sport not available on BT Youview

Hi After a couple of online chats, phone calls and email i'm none the wiser. I've recently switched from Sky to BT Youview, with Sky I had the BT Sports option in HD so paid an extra £3 a month on my BT Infinity subscription, this was fine until switching to BT TV. I thought that it would be a simple process of cancelling the Sky HD BT sport subscription and starting a new one with my new BT TV YouView subscription.
This has not happened as i've now been advised that I cannot receive BT sports on my YouView box as there is not the technology, apparently, at my exchange?
I currently have BT Infinity at around 38mbps and can watch bt sport on my laptop. I've used the ADSL checker that BT provide and the cabinet/exchange that my phone line uses is multicast enabled, so the technology not available sounds like I was being fobbed off. again. this is very frustrating.
It would just be nice to get a straight, honest answer.

    Hi Terenceyeah,
I am sorry to hear you are having difficulties in getting BT Sport on BT YouView. Please can you send me in your details using the "Contact The Mods" link found in my profile, I'll be able to take a look at this for you.

Did you get the BT Youview+ box sent to you directly by BT as part of a BT TV contact? If so then I would expect the BT Player to work once the box is set up and registered. If however you bought the box from elsewhere then the BT Player will not work out of the box as it is not part of the basic Youview service. You would need to order the BT Player service for retail boxes.
For BT Sport you need to order the BT Sport pack for BT TV. Again you need either a normal BT TV contract or a BT Player contract for a retail box. If you want to take up the free BT sport offer for BT Broadband customers then you have to commit to 12 months BT Broadband as part of the ordering process. So the BT Sport channels won't just work by simply plugging the box into a BT Broadband connection. You need an official BT Sport subscription (whether free or £12).
    See,

and if for a retail box not issued by BT,

  • BT Sport Library

I am on the £5 essentials vision package with a YouView box. I have BTS through a sky card which works fine.
Should I have access to the vision BT sport library, it's telling me to subscribe to watch this content. Do I need to pay for the top package to view sport library content or is there a fault with the set up?
    Many Thanks

    Hi RJ414i,
Since you have BT Sport on your Sky box, you'll have access to the catch-up and on demand programmes on the BT Sport app and online player. To get BT Sport catch-up/on demand on your YouView or Vision box, you'd need a BT Sport subscription for BT TV, because BT Sport isn't part of the Vision Essential or Unlimited TV packages.
    Cheers

  • Trying to avoid having to phone customer service.....

I already have BT Sport on Sky but we have a BT vision box attached to the tv upstairs and want to get BT Sport on there too. I just tried to order it online but it says "can't order" and I have to call a number.
Having dealt with BT Customer Service over the phone far too many times in the past I am keen to avoid having to do this again...
Does anyone know why I wouldn't be able to just order it online? We already have BT Infinity but aren't subscribed to any BT TV, we just use it as a DVR and Freeview box, and it is connected to the broadband. Do they just want to try to flog me more BT products...?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You're not going to get very far with this, unfortunately, because:-
    1. BT Sport is a free add-on to BT Vision.  If you don't have a paid BT Vision subscription, there's nothing to add it to, and
    2. BT only gives you one free BT Sport subscription per broadband connection, either BT Vision or Sky.  You would have to pay for the other.
Access via the web site or mobile apps is thrown in free for any BT broadband customer, and can be in addition to a free BT Vision or Sky subscription.

  • BT Infinity - More like BT Eternity

I am currently a BT customer with phone, 10MB broadband and BT Sport subscription. I was hoping to upgrade to BT Infinity today (ordered a month ago) but have encountered problems.
Today I took the day off work for the planned engineer's visit. The new BT Hub arrived in the post this morning. Late afternoon I contacted BT but was advised that there was a problem: No engineer would be visiting today and there was no other date scheduled for its completion.
I cancelled the order and will not be renewing BT Sport. Reasons: 1. failure to deliver on promises, 2. total disregard for my time 3. on principle.

Well this just gets better. Thanks to DeanM he got my issue sorted and on Friday 16/12/11 I was able to order BT Infinity. The order took 30 mins over the phone and was all done and dusted. I HAD my install date of the 06/01/12.
Checked on my order lsat night to find out BT have canceled the engineer visit as it was decided it was no longer needed. Wel excuse me!!!!! I didn't say they could cancel my engineer and they didn't inform me either.
I have just spent 1 hour 20 mins on the phone to BT Infinity to to only be told they don't know why it had been canceled and they could give no explination as to why either. They have booked me another appopintment for the 09/01/12. Lets see if I can now alter my day off work and see if they keep this one this time.
I must admit I am getting really angry with BT at the moment.

  • I have a ATV1, is it worth getting an ATV2?

I have a ATV1 and am very happy with it.  Is it worth getting a ATV2?  Is there any content that I currently have access to that I won't with the ATV2?  Is there content avaliable for the ATV2 that I can't get currently on the ATV1?
If I buy shows/movies directly from iTunes on my Mac, will I be able to watch them on the ATV2 like I go on the ATV1?
The one complelling reason to get the ATV2 is Netflix.
    Roger

    AppleTV 1 cannot:
1 - be a video Airplay target for iOS devices
2 - do Netflix or TV Show Rentals
3 - access various US sports subscription sites (MLB and something else of no interest to me).
4 - handle 720p h264 at 30fps (so if you had an HD NTSC rate camcorder you generally made 960x540 movies for AppleTV 1)
    AppleTV 2 cannot:
1 - Allow browsing/purchasing of any music/music videos, and only allows rental not purchase of movies/shows
2 - send output to an Airport speaker though it can act as one
3 - show iTunes Extra and itunes LP content
    4 - store anything loaclly
5 - work well with slower internet connections (say under 6-8 Mbps) as rentals are flushed from memory if you do anything else with it necessiating a redownload
    6 - output component video
    7 - output analogue audio
8 - Sort items as well as AppleTV 1 - Every Season of a TV show is listed separately - silly if there are a dozen or more seasons of something. Also there's a big whereby any genres with an apostrophe in the name don't sort and list all content.
9 - Video playlist performance has been a bit mixed
    AppleTV 2 is:
    1 - Smaller
2 - Faster and more responsive when doing FF/RW chapter skips etc of locally streamed content
    3 - Cheaper
    4 - More energy efficient
    5 - Still being updated
I think if you stream most content to AppleTV1 (rather than syncing) you'll find performance improvements over AppleTV1.  Yes you can still stream any itunes purchases to it barring LP/Extras content currently.
If you use the syncing feature frequently or for travel you may miss that.

  • Btsport

I am getting bt sport on my IPad but it is not coming through my sky on my tv. Can you helps

The option to get it on their web site or a mobile device is free to all broadband customers.  Getting it on Sky requires a Sky card with your BT Sport subscription added to it.  It sounds like something may have gone wrong there.
