BT stealing money?

Running out of avenues to complain about this so thought I would try here to see if I can finally get my money back..
I signed up for a BT order in the middle of July, on the planned installation date the engineer didn't show up, so having waited in all day for them I had to call BT to be told they were too busy and the next available date was nearly a month later on the 22nd of August.
I was a bit miffed about this and cancelled my order and had my money refunded (including 12 months line rental paid upfront).  Went with a competitor and have never recieved any services from BT.
On the 5th of September BT helped themselves to £137 from my bank account.  I emailed them on the day and spoke to two people on the phone (once when I called, the other when they contacted me following the email) who said the refund was done and would be back within 7 days.
Obviously the money wasn't refunded and since I realised this, I have tried calling (when I was oddly cut off as soon as I described what my problem was), done a webchat (where I was promised a manager would deal with it inside 24 hours, they just got back to me a week later with an absolutely useless answer that had nothing to do with my actual problem) and have sent a written complaint on email (which has been ignored).
I'm not actually much of a complainer (I work in service and understand things sometimes go wrong) but this is absolutely shocking service surely?

  • WHY is BT stealing money from a disabled woman ???...

Since 30th December 2011 I have been having massive trouble with BT.  Firstly my broadband just stopped and despite my trying to get this sorted it took BT over 11 days to finally get my broadband up and working.  I had to put up with no landline for up to 4 days (Im still waiting to be told why) and then I was told that i had "cancelled" by broadband - which I had not.  The customer service team were rude, unhelpful and told downright lies.  Very few of them would actually give thier names and one I made an official complaint about when she called me back and told me "BT will not help you any further" this after a very frustrating call with her that ended up by me ending the call.  I am a severely disabled woman of 57 years old who is totally dependant on my phone and broadband.  I am housebound and the major problem for me was the fact my electiricty top up is done online with British Gas.  I was actually down to less than £1 of electricity and had to leave my home overnight as I was extremly frightened i would be left in the dark and the cold.  Friends had to come and collect me.  I must have dealt with over 40 customer service people - all useless and liars.
I have been promised by Michelle that I will be compensated and my outstanding monies returned to me - this is not proving to be the case, she promised me a cheque had been sent out to me last Thursday 12th January 2012 but as this was a blatant lie of course the cheque has NOT arrived.  She then sent me an email telling me she has been off ill this week for 2 days by way of explanation for not calling me as she promised, she is back in work - why no call ?????
No care has been shown whatsoever, despite me telling them all i was severely disabled and that the stress of this was making me very ill.  I was constantly reduced to tears, lets keep in mind i have had several heart attacks in the last 2 years and my heart condition (as was clearly explained to BT) is triggered by STRESS.  They just dont care.
I am now changing to another phone company and this is where BT have now got seriously nasty and they are actually stealing money from me.  I am being charged for the rental of the line and broadband service and other services despite the fact i have already paid these charges in advance on my October 2011 bill.  It is surely fraud.
Nobody from BT will call me or reply to me.  I have this morning sent a final email to Michelle from the Direct Debit Team and if i get no reply then i have no option but to go to the Onbudsman.
What is being done to me is nothing short of deception, fraud and deceipt.
I will take this as far as I can go - even legal action.
I would also add that BT have deleted thier customer service numbers that I called so i cannot prove the calls were made, I suppose thier "recorded calls" will also be deleted as well.  One of the calls deleted was made by thier own engineer from my landline, apparently he was not in my home nor was he ever on my landline - he must have been an apparition, he told BT on that phone call that i was indeed severely disabled and extremely vulnerable and he also was shocked at the way i was being treated.  I do however have access to this engineer.
Is there anybody at BT who will have the guts and the honesty to deal with this ?????? i doubt it.

I spoke this morning with yet another Billing Operator her name is "Rabhikka" she told me to not pay the bill that was generated until BT sort out this problem, I asked her to email me this - and yep youve guessed - 3 hours later and no email.  Why wont BT staff back up in an email what they tell you on the phone????????  It appears they are now charging me line rentals and broadband charges up to April 2012 - i leave BT 1st February 2012.  What part of that do BT not get?????  Was also told if I pay the £50 outstanding because of these charges then at some point BT will re-imburse me, yep i got money to burn.  Tell you what lets get really radically thinking here WHY DONT BT JUST PAY ME BACK WHAT THEY OWE ME ?????????  Wierd concept but easier surely................ I have sent the guy who has answered below my telephone number - lets see if he calls.

  • Spotify are stealing money from me and I can't stop it!

For 6-months now I've been trying to cancel a Spotify account that I didn't think I'd ever setup.  I once went part way through a setup process but never followed through and have hence never ever used the service. I have been unable to login or retrieve any user details and hence, cannot cancel thgis subscription myself.  I have had no response to help requests and have been left with no option but to get my bank to help Barclays.  They have sent a notice asking it to be stopped but to no avail and are hence now escalating legally. This is nothing short of theft.

Thank you, but this happened last year. After 6 months (yes I filed my first request around March '14, and after continuous efforts I only stopped getting charged in October'14) my issue was resolved. Yes I CONSTANTLY replied to my support emails, I did everything I possibly could to get them to hear me, but I never heard from them, and of course nothing was ever done for me until months and months later. Never even got an apology.
I only posted here b/c I was reviewing my finances recently and was reminded of this travesty. I felt the need to tell that story so that its further reaffirmed that alot of people have experienced this sort of thing, and I can't express how messed up it is. You can't steal money from cusomers. It destroys our trust. I will never subscribe to Spotify again. I've had friends who expressed interest in doing so, but I had to warn them to only do it if they are 200% on board for it, because if they ever decide to cancel they can expect to lose more than $50 (yes that adds up for us recent graduates) Fortunately they listen, because yes, money doesn't grow on trees, and customers don't deserve to be treated like that.

  • ITunes stealing money

I've had to authorise different credit cards at different times with the iTunes store, each time I change cards apple bills me $1.00 when I haven't even purchased anything. This $1.00 isn't credited off purchases it is simply just taken. This has happened on several occasions, where is my $1.00 going and why is it not being returned to me?

The $1 charge is an authorization hold. You will be credited the $1 within 24 to 72 hours. An authorization hold is so Apple can verify your account.
Apple is not stealing money from you.

  • Why does apple not stop these app that steal money from small children

Why does apple not stop these app that steal money from small children

In the final analysis it is down to parents to use the parental control features.
In addition to that, parents should regularly check the nature of all downloaded apps available to their children.
Yours are the chidren ... and yours, the responsibility.

  • Italian phone providers steal money - can Apple help?

As you can read here http://www.repubblica.it/tecnologia/2015/01/21/news/telecomunicazioni_da_antitru st_multe_da_1_7milioni_a_telecom_e_h3g_800mila_a_wind_e_vodafone-105468240/?ref= HREC1-3
italian TLC companies contribute to steal money from their customers by authorizing the withdraw of sums from the phone bill to third companies who assume to be "authorized" from the customer by simply clicking a banner or opening a sms received.
    This happened to me too.
Beside the fines italian Anti Trust Authority in charging to the phone providers, can Apple help the customer to know and consequentially block the unwanted use of data traffic on the iphone, by tracking the internet activity of every single app? Something like the warning symbol of app using my position at the moment?
    Thanks for the attention

Apple cannot help you, but you can help yourself. The phone shows how much data each app uses. Just go to Settings/Cellular.
The problem you have is a common one in many countries. In the US the government has made the cellular companies responsible for unauthorized charges on cell phones, and made the companies refund the money. You should petition your government to take the same actions.

  • HT3702 Why is Apple trying to steal money from me? I already paid for my purchase when i bought my music, now its trying to charge me twice. Why do you need to steal 6 more dollars from me Apple?

I recently bought an EP, a song, and a Add-on for a game, all while I had over $30 on my credit card, but now apple is telling me that I did not pay for my stuff. Now I cannot download anything new, and I'm being punished for apple having a terrible payment method. The money was taken from my bank account so either they messed up or apple is trying to steal another $6.50 from me, which is not okay. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Contact the store directly. No one here can help you.

I do not know of any service from Apple itself that is offered as a monthly subscription, so it must be some other app or service subscription you've signed up for.
Have you even tried logging into your iTunes account and simply checking if you have any active subscriptions?

  • How can a complain about an app basically stealing money?

hello, i couldnt find any other way to complain apart from forums
My friend and I bought coins on a game. He bought rather a large amount and put it in alliance. someone else in alliance hacked the game and fed people fake coins and our alliance too. Haypi Kingdom then took the coins (which is fine) banned his account and left it at that. they also too my friend's 650 coins he bought and now refuse to refund or give them back as they were not hacked and were not used.
The developer refuses to contact us and the support refuses to contact us.
instead of resolving the issue they are ignoring us. He spent about $50 and they wont refund!
what can we do or how can i complain?
there is evidence to show the coins weren't hacked. They just wont give them back.
we didnt ask for the hacking nor want it. incredibly frustrsating!

Try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Verizon is anti-military and will steal your money.

    11/06/2013
Verizon is obviously anti-military.  My story, as I am learning is just one of many horror stories the military has faced upon dealing with Verizon. How frustrating that our soldiers work so hard to fight for our country, to be forced to deal with businesses that have no appreciation for them whatsoever.
We are really shocked at how we have been treated throughout this whole ordeal. We have been Verizon customers since before they were Verizon (back when they were still Alltel). I had always enjoyed my services with them and as a result extended my services with them to include home phone and cable when we lived in an area that provided such.  We had always had our account set up for automatic payment because we were aware of the amount and found this feature to be conveinent. In the 11 years with our service with them, we were never late on any bill.
In early August 2013, we were stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Upon our arrival with our 3 children one of which was our 2 month preemie, we quickly realized our wireless service did not work in this area. On August 5th, 2013, I contacted Verizon and ask what were my options. They explained that they were aware of the situation in our area and had no problem releasing us from our contract with no early termination fees (ETF), due to the circumstances. The represenative even explained how to port my number over to another carrier, so that my number of 11 years wouldnt have to change. I was very happy with the outcome and even surprised with how helpful they were. The represenative I spoke with, even sent his Verizon email, claiming should I have "any" problems, to contact him and he would make sure they were resolved.  We recieved no further correspondence from Verizon.
On September 7th, 2013, Verizon deducted $561 out of my account. We called them immediatly, I was told there were no notes of our being military and that I had cancelled my contract therefore was subject to early termination fees. Over the course of the following two weeks, I spoke to around 10-15 different represenatives. I was required to send in military documentation and address confirmation, I had to fax, forward, call etc. During those 1st two weeks I spent more than 20 hours on the phone with Verizon, sometimes on hold, sometimes dealing with represenatives that had no interest in helping resolve the situation. I spoke to one represenative that told me point blank, it was my own fault for not stopping the automatic payment, and didn't I get a bill". I explained that after my number was ported over to a local carrier, Verizon closed my account therefore rendering me unable to access my online billing account, therefore I had no idea this would happen. I also ask him, if I had stopped automatic billing how would that have stopped Verizon from claiming I owed something, that I obviously do not. One represenative refused to listen to me speak and would even claim that she couldn't hear me when I spoke, but her line miracously cleared whenever she wanted to speak. I tried contacting the original represenative, the one that had left the email. After almost a full week, he finally wrote back with some excuse about being on vacation and that he would forward to his supervisor. Finally, after weeks of phone calls, I was told they had verified that in fact I was military and lived in a location without service, therefore they would refund my money in 4-6 weeks! I explained to them this simply wasn't acceptable, they had taken our housing payment. We had just moved to the area and while awaiting housing had to live in a motel for a month and a half with three children, our account was dangerously low, when Verizon cleaned us out. We were scheduled to move into our home September 10th. We were forced to sale some of our household goods to make ends meet, while we awaited the return of "our" money from Verizon.
Now today, is November 6th, 2013, we are 3 months into this ordeal with one day shy of being 2 months that Verizon still has our money. To date I have spoken to somewhere between 30-40 represeantives and have probably logged more than 100 hours on the telephone, being transferred to representavies, between departments, everyone passing the buck and no real resolution.  On October 10th, 2013, Verizon claims to have deposited $500 of the $561 back into my account, they told me to expect it within 24-72 hours, days passed and nothing. I called again and again, each time I was given a new time when it would magically appear into my account. Once a customer service represenative did say that she could see that it had "not" processed because it was not submitted correctly, so I was then transferred back to financial services who claimed they did not see the error and it in fact was in my bank. I have contacted my bank and they have no information and or money from Verizon whatsoever. Finally I was told that it could take 3-15 "business" days to show in my account, because "some banks take longer", therefore making the deadline, November 1st,2013. No surpises it still isn't there. I called again on November 1st, 2013, were I was told they had in fact found the mistake in paperwork again, and in fact it had "never" been submitted, but it had been corrected and to expect our money within 24-72 hours. There again, today is November 6th, 2013 and still no money. I have spent yet "another" hour and a half on the phone with Verizon, it has been "escalated" again, now I am being told that I may recieve my money in 4-6 weeks once it goes through accounts payable.
I am flabbergasted. I have gotten angry, cried, been patient and a host of other emotions all behind Verizon stealing money that wasn't theirs. We like most American families are trying to make ends meet, our preemie child, requires more financial care than the average baby, for obvious reasons. That situation alone is very stressful on our family, being a military family can be stressful, moving, uprooting our lives and having my husband deploy or being sent out on missions, all of it stressful, yet we have companies such as Verizon who with no care, compassion or gratitude for our situations, treats their customers this way.  Now the holidays are upon us and there is no end in sight as to when we will actually have our own money back. The money my husband spent months away from his family and traveled to foreign lands, to fight for our rights as Americans to be treated fair and justly, and this is the treatment we have recieved from Verizon.
Years of customer loyalty, and this is the end result. Hopefully, eventually, with God's grace we will have our own money back, but the real loss is the hours spent fighting for what was rightfully ours all along, could have been spent with my baby boy that was born 10 weeks too early and had to spend six of those in neonatal intensive care. That they can never repay.
The sad truth is after sharing my story with other military families, I have learned our story is far from original. Apparently, Verizon has a reputation for not caring for their military families. I will certainly do my part to share our story to hopefully prevent others from dealing with such a terrible company.

It is amazing how hard it is to contact anyone who can truly help you at Verizon.
When you seem to get an answer, resolution to a problem. It disappears. I too am contacting Verizon in an attempt to resolve an issue. Promises are made and then nothing. When you call back, there are no notes in your file.
One of the issues is multiple call centers. When you call you get bounced to whichever call center has capacity for your call. Each call center can not see notes made by another call center.  It is a never ending circle...I wish you luck!

  • Apple taking money from my card?

So I made a new apple acount to start fresh and connected my debit card to my account.
I bought this 1 song called "Say Something" and succesfully it purchased. However I bought a free app, so i dont think that it counts but when I logged in my bank acount online my balance got decreased from what I remember after buying the song.
I checked my previous transactions and it says that apple has taken away $.69 from my account?! Its not that big of an ammount, but im afraid that it will conitnue!
I really want my money back because its frustrating to see that I hadnt purchased anything worth for cash except that one song, and apple is getting money from my account? Thats quite unfair and in the form of stealing money from me already.
I really wish apple would give me back my money, its given me a bad image on them now. Why is it taking money from my account when I only have purchased 1 song.

You dont understand, the moment i purchased the song, it already got punched in my credit card account when I checked my transactions online. However, just yesterday during feb 20(i live in PH so i am 1 day ahead it is feb 21 right now) itunes cut off 30PHP from my account.
I dont understand, why is it taking money from me?
    Heres proof
as you can see this is in PHP since i live in the philippines but please do something about this. The first 2 transactions from the bottom is when I BOUGHT SAY SOMETHING AND IMMEDIATELY GOT ADDED TO MY TRANSACTIONS
however, what is this **** 30 php thats being deducted from my account during feb 20? could you please provide an explanation as to why im getting my money taken away from me when I never even bought anything from the store aside from 2 free apps and 1 song when I checked my purchased history? where did this 30php come from?!

  • Skype Account Credit stolen by Skype...

Hi, seems like my first posting disappeared... I thought Skype was a respectable and trustworthy company... but Skype seems to disrespect personal ownership of other individuals by just taking their "property" (credits) without giving any kind of notice... Any proper, honest company would give at least 3 Notices, starting at least a month in advance in case their users are on holiday.  I did a video call to another skype user yesterday, so I am actively using skype, but have not recieved any Notice that Skype were about to take my credits... ok, I have not called any cell-phones or landlines in the last year, but I had an auto-recharge set up, however every 5 years the credit card expires, and I recieved a new one with a new expiry date, so the auto-recharge failed, but then I should get a notice telling me this, so that I can take action and not just quietly steal my credits, giving one the impression that Skype is actively trying to steal money from their users, hoping they will recharge so that Skype has a new chance next year to steal their users money again.  I think it is not morally correkt from skype to just take the credits from long time users and say the account is inactive without giving them the chance to do anything about it... It is only a small amount for me, but it is a matter of principle. I will not recharge my account before I get my credits back, and if I don`t get the credits back, then I will switch to another provider and advice everybody I know to switch as well.

Hi, ABC987, and welcome to the Community,
Please review this FAQ article, as I believe this may be the case of what you describe:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10378/what-do-i-do-about-inactive-skype-credit
Skype has no interest in stealing people's credit.  You ought to have received e-mails from Skype indicating your credit balance was about to slip into inactive status, together with instruction on how to restore credit to active status.  Please do check that your account's registered e-mail address is up-to-date.
You are also welcome to contact Skype Customer Service for further assistance.
    Regards,
    Elaine
