BT totally refuses to give help.

Today I have phoned BT tech support on a number of occassions trying to get my speed improved.  On five of the occassions I have been told that BT will not do anything until the 29th of this month after the migration from 8Mb to 20Mb has been done.  Then after speaking to a site manager, who handed the case over to a specific department and having spent time with someone from that department and porving a number of tests, I was told by him that he would get back to me in an hour.  I get a call from someone different from that department and got told, "as you have got an ongoing case open with the Ombudsmen then there is nothing that we can do", I reply " but the case that is open with the Ombudsmen is different to the issue that I am currently trying to get sorted", I get told "we have been told by the higher complaints team that we can't help you while there is an open case with the Ombudsmen".  So in effect, BT are saying if you have a case that is with the Ombudsmen, that is six months old and the issues that are relevent to that case have since been closed by BT, then you cant report and get help for until that case with the Ombudsmen is closed.  Even contacting Ian Livingston has been next to useless, as all he does is pass it down the line.
I feel that everyone should be made aware of this in this forum.

Here are the results:  Please note that I was asked to plug the HH into the test socket, thats why the up time is short.

  • Old isp refuse to give mac code

Having issues with broadband connection for 3weeks every time they put order through for broadband it gets cancelled been told its bt retail servers and somerhing to do with mac code have been in touch with talktalk and they wont give me mac code. I fed up of waiting and am wondering if it is better if i had a whole nee number and start again.level 2 team said to me to have the broadband hard ceased and then reprovide broadband but get told it wont work but it hasnt been tried yet. Keep getting told it will be on on certain days but its not happening just keep getting fobbed off all the time. Is there anything in here tht can be done to get my broadband in quicker.

you are entiltled to get your MAC code and it should be issued in 5 working days according to OFCOM  get TT MAC here http://www.getamaccode.co.uk/talktalk_mac_code/index.php
if however you have previously received a MAC code and it is still valid the your provider can refuse to give you the MAC code until it expires

  • How to give Help

    Hi All,
Can anybody suggest me how to give help of Screen Painter form. Like Context help F1 in Help menu.
Means suppose i open Sales order system form of SAP and then i go to in Context help then i get the help of that form.
Like this i also want to give help in context help of User define form of Screen Painter.
    Thanks,

Thats fine,  now what we have to do is limit the code only to ur user form. Just paste the following.
Private Sub SBO_Application_MenuEvent(ByRef pVal As SAPbouiCOM.MenuEvent, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean)
    If pVal.MenuUID = "275" And pVal.BeforeAction = True Then
If SBO_Appln.Forms.ActiveForm.TypeEx = "UserFormType" Then 'this is the form type of ur user form
    Dim psi As New ProcessStartInfo()
    psi.UseShellExecute = True
    psi.FileName = "C:\Documents and Settings\Harish Patil\Desktop\Checkbox and Option button\ChkOpt\ChkOpt\New_HTML_Help.chm"
    Process.Start(psi)
    BubbleEvent = False
    End If
    End If
Hope with this we'r done.. If so award the points and close the thread.
    Regards,
    Vasu Natari.

Update OS X also. To learn how to do that read OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
Rid your Mac of the adware that is installed. To do that with Safari, go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. Uninstall any Extensions that appear unless you know their purpose and are certain you need. To learn how adware may have come to be installed on your Mac, read How to install adware.

  • After screwing up my ATT upgrade, Refused to give me my Simms card with all my numbers on it

I recently had a problem with the Pasadena, CA store mobile department, the more I think about it the more upset I get and am wondering if anything can be done with my information.
I was upgrading my ATT phone but they screwed up on my upgrade by putting me on a new plan rather than keeping my unlimited data plus there was a problem with the phone I had gotten anyway so I wanted to switch.  So I went to Pasadena store trying to get it straightened out.
The guy who said he was the manager don't know if he was but was a big jerk.  He pulled up my account and decides to make a new Simms card which I told him not to do as that was the only thing I did not have a problem with. He went ahead and did it anyway, and then refused to give me back my Simms card.  I told him that I needed it because it had all of my phone numbers on it and he still refused.
I shouldn't have left, but I did and now I'm concerned that there may be information on it that could somehow be used.

I just had a new hard disc installed and now the LBP0000 canon printer does not work saying it can't connect to CCPD...connection refused! pls help!!?

You need to reinstall the printer driver, and set up the printer on the new hard drive.
The Canon site should have the driver. Download it and install.
Then go to Apple menu / System Preferences / Print & Fax and click the + (plus sign) and follow the directions.

  • Totally lost!  Please help

Hi.... I am not a computer geek and know nothing about programming. I have SunMicro Java2 Platform Standard Version Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_01-b08) on my computer. I am running Win XP Pro.
This thing is constant shutting down programs that require java. For example, a Pogo game site, or even Yahoo's Web builder software. I have no idea why it is doing this, and how to fix it. I don't understand if I have something configured wrong or what, but it is becoming a real pain.
Could someone please look at one of these logs (they all seem basically about the same) and see what the heck is wrong? I sure would appreciate any help you can give me.
    Thanks in advance......

Im am getting the same type of problem. At first only the pogo web site would hang up then the system started shutting down randomly. I found that the program called "weather bug" from channel 10 news was causing the pogo hangup so I uninstalled it. That solved that problem but the shut downs continued to occur. I uninstalled java, dowloaded the most recent and installed it and it help but I still get the shutdowns just not as often.
This all started after installing the weather bug.
    Here is my error log:

  • I am totally confused!  Please help this newbie :-)

    Hi there,
I am sorta new to Java. I've learned the basics of the language, but now I am finding myself totally confused with all the new stuff. There is SOOOOO much stuff on the java.sun.com website that I don't know where to begin.
Ok, here is my question. Well, questions.
    1. Is there a document that describes when exactly one would want to use the J2EE as opposed to the J2SE?
    2. I want to develop a multi-platform small business desktop application. This application needs to support multiple users accessing a database on a server. It also needs to be capable of accessing a web service via the Internet. And there will be a web-based version of the application. So given these requirements, how do I know if I need the J2EE or not? I would like to avoid requiring the J2EE. The idea being to have a desktop application that can be sold for around $100 per seat license. J2EE application servers are relatively expensive, are they not?
Where do I even begin? Can someone point me to a document or some information?
Incidentally, I want to do all my development on Linux.
    Thanks for any help!
    Joe

Suppose somebody said to you "I have just started to learn to cook, and I would like to open a restaurant in Paris. What should I serve, and will I need to know French?" What advice would you give that person? Well, hopefully you would tell that person to get a job washing dishes or waiting tables at a local restaurant and learn the business starting from the ground up.
Same answer in your case. Start with J2SE and work on learning Java. Also learn about Internet technologies. Then probably after several months to a year you will start to understand the business, and the answers to your questions will become clearer.

  • Total Neophyte needs Mouse help

    Hi all -
As the title states, I'm a total neophyte here. I want to learn Solaris, so I installed a fresh copy.
The problem is that Solaris will not recognize my mouse . . . at all. I have a wireless keyboard/mouse combo (running through one USB cable obviously). After reading online for some time, I was able to come up with two possible solutions:
kdmconfig -t results in telling me my mouse is recognized, but when the test begins, total and complete hell breaks loose (multiple fatal errors)
I also tried cfgadm, which tells me there is one USB connection, which works (makes sense).
Please help. It is frustrating to want to learn, but not even be able to get started.

    My advice would be
    1. Read the manual. don't worry yet that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
    2. Religiously do the tutorial.
    3. Read the manual again. It will make much more sense this time. don't skip anything.
    4. give yourself a little project WITH A DEADLINE. There's nothing like a deadline to keep you sharp.
You're staring at a steep learning curve. If you spook now, you're lost, and might as well pack the box up and send it to me. I could use another seat. But the only way up that hill is one step at a time. So stop snivelling and crack open that manual.

Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again"
I've tried a lot of stuff in the configuration and in the firewall settings, repairing the software..... and nothing. Can anyone help me please?

  • Nokia N95 8GB refuses to update - help!

I've tried for months to update the software on my N95 8GB but various versions of PC Suite then Suite have respectively refused to work.
The Suite software has updated again, and I hoped this time maybe the update would work to update my phone's firmware, but again the same problem.
It was previously an error where it wouldn't download the update, and told me something was wrong. Now it does download the update, but during the software update process of the phone, when it's resetting the phone (and says to ignore warnings about USB connections), the phone simply turns off and doesn't restart. I can turn it on manually, but it doesn't help. I get 'connection with phone was lost' every time.
I really want to update the software to the latest incarnation, but this is beyond a joke. Anyone got any advice?
I've tried different USB slots, different PCs, different cables, every suggestion under the sun I've read online, but the phone just won't automatically restart and resume the update. Just turns off each time.
    Any advice?

Un-install all Nokia related softwares thru' Windows control Panel and then fresh install Nokia Suite to see if that makes any difference.
You may try the latest Beta version of Nokia Suite from here ... Need to log-in using the same credentials that you use on this Forum, to download the installer.
If nothing works, you may get the phone updated thru' your local Nokia Care ...

    PLEASE HELP ME!

but itunes will show the loading sandcursor for a split second then just stop
can you check something for me quinn? reboot the PC, open your Task Manager to the Processes tab, and try to launch itunes again.
does an itunes.exe process appear in Task Manager? if so does it persist in there, or does it disappear after a few seconds?
(this will give us a heads up on which possibilities we should be checking up on first.)
    keep us posted.

  • Sony store refused to give me a refund

I bought a PS3 on 4/20/2011 I haven't been able to use my product. I know of the network outage/network breach. They told me once I left the store I can no longer bring back my PS3 for a return, unless if it was broken. I find this unacceptable, I have a device that I can’t use and I no longer feel safe with any of my information being on your network now. I’ve spent the last 3 hours trying to find a place to talk to someone, but no one is willing to help me. Your customer support is a joke; no one could point me to any direction. The staff at your store locations mostly Store 21 didn’t even give me any options to want me to keep my PS3 the guy didn’t even say anything other than “ wait till Monday the PS3 network will be up” I then told him I don’t want it anymore at all. Then the manager came out and didn’t even show me any form of respect. His only words were “you can’t return it” and went about his business. Well I’m seeking legal advice at this point since Sony isn’t cooperating with their “customers”
So if any Sony staff has any direction of who to contact at Sony about this matter please fill me in. I’m meeting with a lawyer this weekend if I can’t get the information I want, and a full refund of my brand new PS3 that which I’m not able to use.

I'm sorry to see that you are unhappy with your PlayStation, Sony believes that communication regarding such concerns as yours is best conducted through personal interaction with their dedicated customer service teams - please give Sony PlayStation Customer Relations team a call - the number is on the following link:

  • WRT54G wireless network gone totally wacky! please help.

I called linksys tech support and they were of absolutely no help. the wireless network was working fine until about an hour ago when my roomate connected her computer to the network. the network was previously configured through windows...but when she connected her computer she connected through her linksys wireless card (which i don't have on my computer.) Somehow in doing this she reconfigured the entire network...entirely new name etc. Now my computer can't connect to the network...I can see it on my list of wireless networks, but the password I was using previously to connect is not working. I get the error message "The network password needs to be 128 bits or 256 bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 8 to 63 ascii characters or 64 hexadecimal characters" I have no idea what that even means. How do I get my original network back so I can reconnect my computer?!

Its doubtful that just by connecting to your router, your roommate caused this problem with your router.
What version of the router do you have?  Some of the WRT54G routers have an SES (Secure Easy Setup) button.  If you push that button accidentally, you will reset your wireless security to a new password.
Were you using wireless security?  If so, which type?  WEP, WPA, or WPA2?
Did you give your router a unique SSID, or are you still using "linksys".  If you are using "linksys", are you sure you are trying to connect to your own network, and not your neighbor's network?  Did the SSID of your router change from what you set it to before?
To correct your problem, point your browser to 192.168.1.1 and login to your router with your user name (if any), and password.  Then go to the "Wireless" tab, "Basic setup" subtab, and correct any entries that are wrong.
Then go to the "Security" tab, "Wireless Security" subtab, and correct any entries that are wrong.
    Reboot entire system.
