BT Vault - files unprocessed

I haven't successfully uploaded files to BT Vault since 2009.  I can see from the vault that my old files are still there, however if I send any new files using the Autoback up they are unsuccessful.
I have tried sending multiple and single files.  I get the following log message:
Files processed:              1Files backed up:              0Files unprocessed:            1
Files successfully backed up:      [none]
Files unprocessed:   Unknown Error             C:\Documents and Settings\New\My Documents\My Pictures\2010\Oct 2010 - Hereford\SL381684.JPG
Can you help?

  • Why is FCP Studio saving my Autosave Vault files as FC Express project files?

I have had FCPro Studio for some time now and haven't used my FC Express software for a long time, but somehow in the Autosave Vault folder, my project is being saved as a Final Cut Express Project File.  And if I try to open one of them it only produces a Error message.  How did this happen?  Is there someplace that remembers how I used to save FCE files and defaults to that or what?  I can't find anyplace in the Preferences or Settings that tell it how to save things.  Help if you can.  Thanks

Thanks for the heads up Tom on Andy's idea.  I like what Andy recommended, as I see that it will probably do the job to right the problem, however, before I do it... I do have projects that I haven't finished in FCE and don't want them messed up if ALL files will now open as FCP.  What do I do to keep things separate OR would it be better to just upgrade those projects to FCP and finish them there.  It is definitely a better program. Will the FCE projects suffer any ill effects by now being FCP projects?  OR should I just finish them in FCE and how do I keep them as such if I do the Cmd I change for the other files that need to be changed?
    Thanks, Andy and Tom,
    Jon
PS.  I changed ONE of the files that was from my FCP project and was being saved as a FCE project file and I DIDN"T change all, just the one.  This seems to be one way to keep all the other FCE project files as they should be.  I could just change one by one, only the Autosave Vault files in my FCP project that I need, and so preserve the projects that are FCE projects from changing.  First-is this a good work flow and Second-How do I get the Autosave Vault to, from now on - save my FCP project files AS FCP project files?
    Thanks

  • After Time Machine backs up my file vault files (after logging out), when I next log into the user account it beachballs permanently during log in.

After Time Machine backs up my file vault files (after logging out), when I next log into the user account it beachballs permanently during log in.  The backup was successful, as I had to restore after this issue last time.  Hard resetting doesn't resolve the issue.  Is there a Time Machine setting that I should be aware of?
I have 2011 13" MBP, 10.6.8 and use an external hard drive connected via USB for my Time Machine backups.
    Thanks

I was able to get it to work.  Thanks for your help.  It's unfortunate the two applications do not work well together.  This is what I did:
    1) Safe boot and logged into the affected user (since the whole issue damaged the account's system settings).
    2) Turned off File Vault in System Preferences. I needed to make some space on the hard drive first since apparently the total free space on the hard drive has to equal or exceed the amount of data currently in the file vault.  I deleted some files and moved others to the Admin account.  This whole process took awhile.
    3) Finally, just restarted and logged in.  The next time machine backup seems to be a significant backup, I assume because it's backing up the user account in a different way now that File Vault is turned off.
    Thanks again!

  • Update vault path gives "Not a valid vault file".

Recently i've copied my vault file(s) to a larger disk. When trying to update the vault path (selecting gear below vaults) it gives me an error that it is not a valid vault file.
The disks are both formatted as Mac OS Extended (journaled) and I received no error's during the copying.
I know I could create a new vault file. But it should work. What Could I do to fix this?
    Thanks if you can help.

It seems your VI has been corrupted. This may have been a LabVIEW error, or a disk file I/O error. You will need to revert to a backup. You should also do a disk scan to rule out any problems with the disk.

  • Autosave Vault files are corrupt

My project file has gone corrupt ("unknown file" message appeared and I was unable to save) so I had to close the file without saving.
I tried to open a file in the Autosave Vault, but ALL of these files have gone corrupt as well! (message: "unable to open file")
Is there anything else I can do? I've lost a lot of work. ;(
    Anything will help!
    thanks.

  • Does TM save File Vault files??

I mistakenly deleted an important file and am trying to restore it from my TM backup drive. The problem is that when im in TM, I cant access the archived 'desktop' where the file was stored. I also use file vault and it appears, when I open the backup drive, that TM has not backed up any files/folders held in file vault, including the file Im looking for. Is this likely to be the case? Does TM backup FV files?
(BTW, the only thing I have excluded from backup in TM preferences is the backup drive itself)
    Thanks!

TM backs up file vault but ONLY when you are not logged into the filevault account. You have to log out of a filevault account and log into another one and then let TM back up. One of many a reason not to use filevault.

  • Time Machine 10.5.3 can now recover individual File Vault files?!

I don't know when this happened, but it appears that I can now recover individual files from a FV protected account using TM in Leopard 10.5.3. It works just like it does with an unprotected account;choose a folder, click in the dock, zoomy UI.
What's more, while logged into a FV protected account, I can chose BackUp Now... and it does just that. The only difference is that when I log off of a FV protected account, a backup is performed, which makes sense since individual files cannot be backed up once the FV protected account is logged off.
Am I right? This was such a big user issue I am surprised Apple didn't make a bigger issue about announcing it.

Neither OS X nor QuickTime natively allows the playback of .flv content. However, adding Perian to your system

  • How to extract individual projects from an Aperture 3 vault file in Finder?

I want to extract a single (or multiple) projects from a vault on an external HD. My main library resides on my imac and sometimes I want to take my Macbook and the external HD with the vault and just work in on a single project. I have gone into package contents in Finder but I'm not sure how to get a project with all the folders/albums out of it as everything is broken up into "masters" "previews" etc. Is there an easy way? Also is the process of doing this any faster than just exporting the project to a new library on my imac and then copying that to the external drive?
    Thanks for any help.

I would personally avoid playing with the vault as it is a vault. I'd instead export the relevant projects to your external then import them into a unique library on your mac book. When you're done you would then reverse the procedure and backup to your vault.

  • BT Vault "Unprocessed files" message

During the first archive some 46,000 files are being uploaded taking up to now 4 days.
Somewhere between 85% and 91% of the backup the message "Files unprocessed: 330" appeared.
Any ideas how to find out which 330 these files are - Maybe a helpful error log appears when its all finished, hope I don't miss it.
As an aside does everyone know how to post a message on a correct message board? I was clicking around for ages looking for a new message button that did not look like it was part of some thread. Mind you I have not used message boards before so its probably something obvious I have missed.

    Hi siromer,
    Welcome to the forum.
Which auto-backup client version are you using?
If it’s the latest client then it will be possible to find log detail in Help within the client (icon in the lower right hand side of the client window). Click Help, then on the Help screen, click on the Logs tab to display the detail. Clicking on the magnifying glass will expand the log data into a text file.
Let me know how you get on.
    Thanks,
    Stephanie

  • File vault and wanted to upgrade to Lion

I have a client who was using file vault and wanted to upgrade to Lion. I did a Time Machine backup and upgraded to Lion. Ater that I noted that time machine does not backup file vault files. Please help.

  • Updating to Mtn Lion with File Vault 2 running ?

Will I be able to update to Mtn Lion with File Vault 2 running or will I need to unencrypt ?

It would make no sense for FV2 to have to be disabled in order to updgrade.
I disagree. You are doing a major operating system upgrade. That changes all the base OS files, including the file vault files.
I would think it foolish to do that type of upgrade with File Vault enabled.
But we will find out as many will do the upgrade with File Vault enabled and if they have problems they will surely post about it.

  • Can't back up Library file

    Hi All,
Problem: I'm trying to create a backup of my Aperture Library file by simply doing a drag copy of it to an external drive. I get about 2/3 of the way done, when the copy process stops and I get an error that the process has stopped, due to a corrupt file. I get the same result copying to my internal back up, external back up and even doing a file copy on the same drive. I've now done the consistency check and rebuild the database, but there were no errors, so I'm assuming that I will get the same result as before. I'm trying the copy again any way, just to check. If this doesn't work, I see two next steps.
    1. Open the contents of the Library file, try the drag copy again. With the contents exposed, I think I may be able to find the offending file and get rid of it. I know this is dangerous, to muck around in the Library like this, will this work?
    2. Export my library, project by project, then rebuild (import) on to the new drive.
I guess my third option is to just trust that the Vault will work, but after my last experience, I wanted to look at all options.
    Thanks.
Background: I have had a bad run with hard drives lately and just after recovering from having a Samsung 1TB die (lots of hours to restore everything), I had my new WD Caviar Black 2TB start to act funny, with corrupt file issues etc. Here's my config, Mac Pro Quad G5, Mac OS 10.5.8 and Aperture 2.1.4. My current back up plan has been simply drag copies of my data to both an internal and external drives on a regular basis. Simple, yes but it has served me well until this latest bout of hard drive problems.
My short term plan is to get two new 2TB drives to raid in my system, with my external 2TB as a clone of my drive. That should hold me over, till my sales pick up and I can spend my savings on a new Intel Mac Pro with new OS and Aperture 3.
My current problem is getting fully updated copied of everything backed up. I've had some corrupt file issues, which stops the copy process and makes me hunt for the offending file. All that's done, except my Aperture Library. Yes, I have multiple copies of my Vault file, but in the process of rebuilding the last time, I learned that the Vault doesn't keep thumbnails and previews. I got uneasy about this process, when it took forever to rebuild thumbs and previews. It didn't seem like it was working, when I realized I had a copy of my Aperture Library, so I copied it over and everything was cool.

A few thoughts. First when you do the drag of the library file is Aperture closed? Don't know for sure if it would make a difference but it's probably a good thing to do.
Second have you done a disk verify of the volume your Aperture library is on? I would suggest you run disk utility and do a disk verify on this volume just to rule out the possibility of a bad sector.
Finally I would really advise against going into the Aperture library and mucking about unless you have a definite know good backup of the library. You could select all your projects at once and then export them all in one operation as a new library directly onto the external drive. The you could just open this new library in Aperture, no need to import anything.

Vault files are set up like this:
    STEAMID:X:XXXX 100000
Right now if I run the program through command prompt it erases both the vault.ini and new vault.ini. I am also trying to put it in an executable jar file and when I do that I get a "Failed to load main class manifest attribute" error. Any ideas on what is causing this?

I don't know what is happening. I put your exact code into a small build environment and used a build file for ant that I have and it works just fine. Manifest files are a total pain which is why I use a tool to generate it. I know that the last line has to be blank and that no line can be over a certain length.
You've now spent several days avoiding ant and I got it running with ant in about 3 minutes. I'm really missing something.
For reference, the build file is below should you change your mind. Put your prune.java in a new directory named "src" and save this file below as build.xml in the parent directory of "src". Run the program with java -jar lib/prune.jar
