As gg says the helpline is your best bet.
If they can't do it for you, my experience suggests you might have to grin and bear it for a while. Some time ago the then current version of the app failed on my phone, and it wouldn't connect via the app or manually as long as the app was installed. Once the app was uninstalled the phone would readily connect manually. When the app was eventually updated I installed it again and it's been no trouble ever since.

I put the Bt WiFi app on my iPad Mini  and now I can't connect to the internet.  Please Help

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Android wifi app query

    Hi,
I have installed the BT Wifi app on my Android phone, but when I try to connect, having inputted my user id (email address) and password, I am told I need to be a broadband customer to use the service. Well, I am a customer,  Infinity activated today, (working well so far)!  There must be something very simple that I am doing wrong.  Advice appreciated.

You need to login using the e-mail address that BT gave you, and its password. It may take 24 hours to become active.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.
BT Broadband customers - help with broadband, WiFi, networking, e-mail and phones.

  • Using ATT i have no signal at home, what wifi app is best, confused by potential cost

using att i have no service at home, what wifi app works for calls/text, confused by potential cost with "free" apps, international calls are not an issue

Skype and Textfree are worth looking into but as TP said, look into an AT&T MicroCell if you have broadband at home.

  • BT Wifi App keeps asking for details

    Hi all,
I've been having trouble with the BT Wifi app for the last couple of days.  I keep getting the screen shown below.  I keep re-entering my details and getting stuck in a loop of seeing this screen.  I am able to sign into a hotspot via the web and then the app works OK but, of course, the app is supposed to do the signing in for me.  I've moved to app to phone storage to try and eliminate any permissions problem but it still doesn't work.  Has anyone else had this problem and how can I resolve it?  I have also tweeted @BT Care for help.

For some reason this seems to have fixed itself all of a sudden.  Thanks all those who tried to help

  • BT WiFi App for Linux

I use a Linux laptop in central London, I'm surrounded by BT WiFi hotspots but can rarely stay connected for more than 5 minutes. Repeated login is tedious and the landing page always usurps the web page being used when the connection drops.
I think I need a linux equivilant to the android BT WiFi app. Does such a thing exist or can anyone recommend an alternative?
    Cheers all,
    P

    Hello,
Sounds like too many connections fighting for too small a space..
Try changing MTU from automatic to something like 7891
Might help a little. Or scan the available networks and choose the one with the strongest signal..
    Cheers..

  • BT WiFi app for Blackberry 10

Does anyone know if there are any plans to develop a BT WiFi app for Blackberry 10?

probably same as before until it becomes more popular but windows and blackberry smartpones are only 10% of the market.
however there is no real need to the btwifi app as you can connect to BTWIFI just by scanning with blackberry and when you find a signal then just login.  not like the smarttalk app where you actually need the app

  • BT Wifi App Windows Phone

The Wifi app is fine for use when I'm out and about but when I'm home it automatically connects to BT WiFi instead of my hub, I have to disconnect from BT WiFi and reconnect to the hub every time I pick up my phone. Is there any way of automatically connecting to the hub. I've uninstalled the app at the moment until this can be sorted out.

    Hi seagroaa,
I'm glad you got that sorted, I've moved your other post on to this thread to keep it all in the one place.
    Cheers

  • Orange Wifi App - BT Openzone

My Orange contract includes BT Openzone Wifi and I have the password etc
However the sites suggest downloading the Orange WiFi app from the Blackberry App Store enhance the experience i.e. to not have to keep tying in a non memorable password everytime and generally struggle.
I can find any such app on Blackberry App World.
Can anyone help me make the experience less painfull ?
Or let me know where I can find the app ?
Or let me know when the app is coming ?
Currently I get the message when in range, chose it, then get taken to BT openzone, then select Orange, then enter the phone number, then go and find the password and cut/paste it into the screen, which then needs to remain open ..... everytime I do it.
Orange informed me that the password should be remembered automatically but can't even get that to happen.
    Help please
    Thanks

  • What do those Wifi apps do?

Hello, I come across some wifi apps such as JoikuSpot and HandyWi and was wondering what they do and how they work?
At the moment my phone is connected to my home router (I have a Nokia 5800XM) but I have to pay for 3G.
I take it those apps are like a database of wifi passwords or something or what?? How do they work? And I saw they do "fallback to 3G if wifi fails"? Does that mean it will automatically connect to 3G and cost me?
Also, which one do you recommend if I like what they do? (Need the explanation first )

i see that joikuspot is worthless as it isn't free
we need to have the premium version for free, we have the flagship device, right?

  • IPhone BT Wifi App - automatic login query

    Hi,
I have the BT Wifi iPhone app and it connects quite successfully to my home network and hotspots.
The only issue I have is that the app does not connect automatically, rather I have to open the app and let it do it's thing!
The strange thing is that I have the BT Wifi app for Android on both my Samsung phone and Nexus 7, and this app does connect automatically in the background. I don't have to open the app; as soon as a hotspot is available the Android app connects without opening the app.
Is there a reason that the Android app connects automatically and the iPhone app doesn't?
    Thanks

As far as I can remember there used to be settings to allow the iphone to connect automatically or not depending on your choice.
It has has been removed on the Android version, I don't have an iphone to hand to be able to check if they are still on the iPhone version. If you go into the App settings it may be that they are still on the iphone app and you need to tick the box to connect automatically.

  • WiFi App store updates screwing with icon organization?

I have tried this over 15 times, and it is persistent.
When updating applications via the WiFi App Store, iPod Touch automatically moves the icons for the apps to the bottom of the last app page. It then proceeds to download and install them normally. But here's the issue: the icons STAY on the last page!
For me I have my pages arranged by frequency of use or need to get to the fastest. If I got an update to an app that I have on my front page, and it moves it to the last app 6 pages away, that means after every update I have to go and re-drag ALL of my updated apps back to their original spots. The act of doing this, however, also forces other apps out of alignment, etc.
The PITA being if Safari and Mail and Maps were updated, suddenly they would be moved to the last page and I would have to individually drag them page by page back to where they were supposed to be: on the front page.
Now, I know the "work around" would be to ONLY update apps from iTunes, but the truth is I'm often away from my computer and sync to it only once every two weeks, so this is a ridiculous option.
The App store either needs to leave the icons where they were put by the user, or place them back there when it is done updating. iTunes should be able to allow you to arrange and save the arrangement of your apps so that if you accidentally move them, you can sync to iTunes and they will go back to your preference.
Has anyone else found this an issue? Do you know of a fix? Any employees with $0.02 to share or any input to give?
Other than that, Apple ftw! W00t!

I have four pages of icons, each one not full (each page designates a theme, like games, info/news, etc.). For me when updating, icons seem to go in the first unused position, usually on the first page.
Yes, it is an issue - hopefully one of those things that will correct itself in time.

  • Easy Graphic Wifi App

    Hello arch forum dwellers,
I recently switched to arch to enjoy the sweetness of a compiz standalone setup. I am using AWN as my window dock. My current problem, I want an easy graphic wifi manager. I was thinking gnome's network manager would work, but I don't know how to launch it without a panel. I looked at wicd, but I need an easy autoconfig tool. My school has about 9000 access points and I move around and use a lot of them. I don't want to sit and create a ton of configs by hand. Anyone know of  a good GUI wifi tool I could use. I saw there was an experimental AWN app, but that was said to be very flaky.

All the gui wifi apps I know of go through the panel tray. wicd is pretty nice,  but also uses a client that goes into a panel tray which you probably just weren't seeing. There's options that can give you this within the standalone compiz, the only one I've used is pypanel which I thought will do what it needs without any fuss to configure.
Also if you just need someplace to be tray icons like this stalonetray will give you this, which I used for a while.

  • BT WIFI APP on ANdroid Lollipop

My Nexus 5 has updated to Android Lolipop, however since then the BT WIFI app has stopped connecting. Is anyone else have issues?

Me too.Just upgarded Nexus 4 to Lollipop -wish I Ihadn't!! -  BT-Wi app - hangs  with black  after presenting  Welcome screen!!

  • BT wifi app - android

I have the BT wifi app installed and set to auto login to any BT hotspots.I am running android 4.1.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S3
However one annoyance I have is that once the app has logged on to free wifi once, a "ongoing" entry is left along the lines of "BT Hotspot Access Connected to BT Wifi". This is clearly untrue as it persists long after I'm out of range of a such a hotspot, and using completely different wifi, or back on 3G with wifi disabled.
Whilst it doesn't break any networking function, it does take up a slot in the notification bar, and since it's in "ongoing" it cannot be dismissed
If the app is started then the icon/ongoing notification does get removed, but this should happen automatically.
    Known issue?

I think it's a bug with the BTWifi app
I was once connected to a homehubs BTWifi-with-fon SSID. This house was the last one in the area. I then drove 2 miles with views of open fields either side of me. I parked the car and we went on a beach and my phone was showing that the BTWifi app still had a connection!
