BT Yahoo mail keeps reloading

Afternoon all - this just started happening.
My BT Yahoo email account (on my iphone 4) keep reloading the last 20-30 messages - I don't lose anything and it does show new messages but it means my phone is constantly vibrating or buzzing as if I have new email!
Just started this afternoon.
All software up to date and have deleted the account, re-entered - still the same and have reset the phone.
Any ideas?

Apparently nothing since November 2009...

aye right!
will email and ask - but will expect the usual BT runaround...
Thanks for your input

  • Why does yahoo mail keep freezing?

I am using Safari and yahoo mail, I can browse ok but when I try and check my emails yahoo mail keeps freezing on me?

did you get this figured out?

  • Yahoo Mail automatically reloads in IE after magnifying very large in Firefox. Will not open correctly in Firefox at all.

    Hello,
I have had this issue for a long time now and just dealt with it by always reading my mail in IE, which I dislike very much. It's very strange...When I click on my Yahoo Mail shortcut (or access it any other way), the page shows up for several seconds very distorted and totally magnified before it reloads in IE, at which point this is in my browser window: chrome://ieview/content/reloaded.html. I set the page to automatically load in IE because I cannot read the distorted page what-so-ever in Firefox. At one point, it worked for a couple days and I thought it somehow fixed by itself. However, it went right back to messing up. The thing that initially triggered this was that my cat was stepping all over my keyboard one day and somehow she hit a combination of keys to cause this issue. Any help would be much appreciated!

    You're welcome

  • Yahoo mail keeps going offline

I updated my yahoo password the other day. Ever since then my yahoo mail (through imac mail app)  has been going offline. I can not send messages using my imac.  I should note that I do not have any issues signing into yahoo.com and sending/ receiving mail. Also usually when I send a message ( using mac mail) it sends from icloud.. not my yahoo.  I am not sure what information you may need.. so here is everything- probably things you do not need as well.
    Software:
    OS X Yosemite 10.10
processor 2.7 GHz intel Core i5
    mail version 8.0
icloud and yahoo are both "online"
    Description: Yahoo!
server name : smtp.mail.yahoo.com (in use by icloud, yahoo)
    TLS- none
    Port: 587
"automatically detect and maintain account settings" is checked
    "use SSL" is checked
    authentication : password
user name and password are correct..

If Mail keeps asking for your password when retrieving mail, then it may very likely be that the password you entered has become corrupted in the Keychain. You should try this:
Open Keychain Access>Passwords and scroll through the list to find that specific entry and delete it; quit Keychain Access.
Restart Mail and enter your password again when it asks, and check the box to save it in the Keychain. If things work as expected, it will not ask you again unless your Keychain or an entry in it becomes corrupted again.

  • Running snow leopard 10.6.8,safari 5.1.10-yahoo mail keeps asking me to update my browser but there's no link. Does it think I'm running Mavericks or what;s going on. Have carried out updates

    Running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 & Safari 5.1.10
Problem is with Yahoo mail which keeps asking me to update my Safari browser but everything is up to date as far as I can tell. Have reset Safari & empties cache.
But no change- every time I go to open Yahoo mail it goes to a page with update boxes for Firefox & Safari asking me to upgrade but on hitting Safari upgrade box it just takes me to an Apple page that explains the benefits of the new Safari ( Mavericks maybe ) with no option to upgrade. Can anyone suggest an answer to this annoyance.
    Thanks very much,
    Dino.

Your post is pretty lengthy and I have to admit I didn't read it all. Please try restarting in Safe Mode, if that doesn't work please do both a SMC and PRAM reset. These may take 2-3 attempts.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Mail keeps reloading

I have an iMac running Mountain Lion.  Starting a few weeks ago (maybe since last update), my Mail (AOL, IMAP) has gone berserk.  Every time I close Mail, or Restart the computer, Mail reloads thousands and thousands of emails!
I have deleted the email account, went into KeyChain access and removed the old links in there, turned off the computer, added the email account, and still get the same problem.  I have gone thru this multiple times, but the reloading continues.
This is not happening on my iPhone or iPad, just my iMac.
    Any ideas?

    found on yahoo answers....
"Looks like Yahoo! made some sort of change to their IMAP server which causes this problem. If you a Yahoo! mail plus account, you may want to change your iphone email account to a POP3 account instead of IMAP. To do this, delete your current email account on the iphone, then add a new one on your iphone as "other" instead of "Yahoo". When you are prompted to enter server settings, use the following, which worked for me...
For yahoo mail you need upgrade to yahoo mail plus to get
the full pop3 service for access to outlook, incredimail,
    thunderbird, and others.
And use the new yahoo mail servers address.
    * Incoming Mail Server (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
    Use SSL, port: 995
    * Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication
Click this link for yahoo mail pop3 settings
    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl…
    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya…
Any problems go to this link.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl… Or you can try free ypops but it may no longer work with yahoo since yahoo changed there settings and pop3 address.

  • The Password in Yahoo Mail keeps getting rejected in IMAP server in yahoo . The password is correct had reset it several times in mail preference.

I keep getting my Yahoo mail password rejected. I think it is the server IMAP. I have gone into mail prefference reset it several times. I still get the pop up on Mac pro and I mac computers.

Sounds more like your Yahoo mail account has been hacked. The hacker probably changed your password. Report it to Yahoo.

  • Yahoo mail keeps asking me to upgrade Safari

I am using 10.6.8. with Safari 5.1.10 As far as I can see, their is no update or upgrade.

Thanks Andy. Note for pedants and technophobes - there is no IGNORE BUTTON, there is CONTINUE which takes you to the IGNORE landing page.
    1) Sign In to Yahoo Mail
    2) Auto-directed to upgrade page
    3) Select Continue
    4) Bookmark the URL you're taken to and use that to login
OR ALTERNATIVELY, per Carolyn, you can access Yahoo Mail via Mac Mail
All other browsers try the URL method or http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/179967

  • Yahoo mail keeps making sign in over & over & over, when trying to send a mssg, read a mssg, etc. Yahoo says it's a firefox issue. How do I fix this? Thanks!

Yahoo mail replied this is a firefox issue. It will not let me stay logged in & makes me re-login repeatedly. Thanks.

This can be caused by the connection settings having the default setting.
Try to select the "No Proxy" setting instead of the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting.

  • Why does Mail keep reloading old emails into my inbox as if they are new?

Ill be doing homework at like 2-3am and all of the sudden Mail will say I have 157 new emails in my inbox. When I go look at them, it just reloads all the messages in my gmail inbox into my Mail inbox. To prevent it from happening I have to keep moving my gmail messages into folders. Is there anyway to fix this?? Maybe it is the way I have it set up??? Someone please help, it happens like 3 times a week at least and is super annoying!!!
    -A distressed student

    Travis,
You have posted in the Mail & AB forum for Leopard, and not Snow Leopard, and the system info posting below any of your responses reports 10.5.6 -- you should correct the latter.
For some using Snow Leopard and using Time Machine, this has been leading edge issue, and one that hopefully will be dealt with by the next update to SL. What seems to happen with Mail 4.x and use of Time Machine, is that the file that in normal use prevents duplicate downloads gets restored to an old version, and thus Mail does not know it has downloaded the messages previously. Purging the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 file will cure briefly (after enduring one more download of all messages on the server, but the problem will return because of Time Machine. Are you using Time Machine?
As for housekeeping, if you quit Mail, and then shut down your laptop (or maybe even if only putting it to sleep by closing the lid), then Mail housekeeping tasks, which include keeping the index up-to-date do not get finished, and then can be problems. Now that I know you are using Snow Leopard, I am less suspicious of that.

  • Yahoo mail keeps cycling through login and will not open.

I was trying to get a picture of a plane off of the yahoo emails I was sending out. I must have done something to the security settings. I can open my yahoo, but when I click on a piece of mail I can't get into it. The http:// site cycles endlessly and won't stop. I don't know what to do.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    * "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    * "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Deleted mail keeps reloading in my Drafts folder.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, my email keeps putting old deleted messages (usually the same 5 messages) in my Drafts folder. I delete them there, but they just keep coming back. Anyone know how to fix this?
I am running Mavericks on my MacBook Pro with Mail 7.3.

Deleted mail can reappear if the folder has not been compacted frequently.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_Tips_:_Compacting_Folders
'' If you don't compact your folders regularly, performance can slow to a crawl, you can't store new messages anymore, start losing parts of messages or have deleted messages resurrected.''
Suggest you move all good emails out of Inbox to other suitable folders for organising.
Then delete all emails you do not want.
then right click on Inbox and select 'compact'.
    Then empty the Deleted folder.
Also Empty and compact the Junk folder.

  • Yahoo mail keeps giving me temporary error 14

This error is occurring on both the PC and Mac. It happens sending, receiving, composing, attaching files etc. every single day.

  • Mail keeps reloading being deleted and a sync is done

Mail on iPad that has been read and deleted will reappear when a sync is done. (The mail has also been read on Mac Mail.) If I would happen to sync multiple times in that day, the previously deleted mail will show back up again on the iPad. Mail on the server is only deleted with Mac Mail and that is after one day, not immediate. iPad does not initiate a server delete by choice as mail archives are kept on the Mac Mail.
This is really annoying and time consuming when there might be 50 or more legitimate emails to deal with. To delete is either a tap/slide/tap to delete or trash can/confirm delete. That is a lot of tapping!!!
Thank goodness the spam filter on the server out the junk or this would be a nightmare.

    HI,
One your Mac, open the Mac Mail app. From the menu bar click: Mailbox / Rebuild
And reset your iPad. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the
Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Try Mail on your iPad.
