BTE to modify planning level

Hi!
I´m using BTE 1025 (P/S) to modify automatically the panning level of certain FI documents.
My version: 4.6C
Now we are upgrading to ECC 6.0, but BTE 1025 doesn´t run.
What´s the problem with BTE for modifying documents in ECC 6.0?

Hi,
I've already tried it. I've tried to use a substitution to change BSEG-HKONT for tax items in hope that corresponding BSET entry is fullfilled with the same account of BSEG. The problem was the BSEG field works OK, but corresponding BSET entry is not updated.
It's not possible to use substitutions to update BSET. Correct ?
I'll thank if someone has any other idea, or if there's something I can add to the substitution that makes it updates BSET-HKONT with BSEG-HKONT.

Planning Level Root Question (Periodid Vs Monthly)

Hello,
I have a question related with planning level configuration.
In the standard SAP Planning area
SAP2 - All the planning levels have been defined monthly attribute as the root for time
SAP4 - All the planning levels have been defined periodid attribute as the root for time
What is the difference between both type of configuration. (Selecting Monthly / period id as the root, what difference it creates and how it affects other areas)
I was testing consensus demand key figure in SOP 3.0 and I am unable to edit the key figure value in my planning area (KF value change in Excel) which is a copy of SAP4 planning area. Initial response from SAP OSS is to modify the planning level and use monthly instead of Periodid (But I have just copied the standard SAP4 planning area).
Uploading the key figure using KF template works fine but issues comes only when I tried to change the value in Excel or try to input new values in blank cells.
Same thing I also tested in IBP 4.0 FP1 Patch 1 and configuration is exactly the same as SOP 3.0 (Both SAP2 and SAP4 planning area) but I am able to modify consensus demand key figure in both the copied planning area (Copy of SAP2 and SAP4) irrespective of monthly / periodid selected as the root.
Please let me know if you have observed this before and what are your feedback/suggestions.

Cash Management Report FF7B - drill-down from planning levels to AP/AR OIs

I'm configuring cash management and have created all planning levels and groups needed.
All master data, ie GL accounts, vendors and customers, have the correct planning level or group.
I've created all the groupings etc that I need.
I'm running the reports FF7A and FF7B. I have two questions and problems.
1. When running the Liquidity Forecsat for customers and vendors I drill-down to the standard PL or SL planning levels for AP and AR postings respectively. Then I drill into the planning groups correctly (E1-E9 and R1-R8). But when I try to drill into the cash management detail records (or is it the AP/AR line items?) I get "Memo Records: List - List Contains No Data". This happens every time. Should I now see the AP or AP line items? Or should I see some cash management memo records? I have deleted all the cash management data several times and recreated but I still get this problem (using reports RFFDDL00 and RFFDKU00)
When I do the same for purchase orders, purchase requisitions or sales orders I see a Memo Records List which agrees with the previous planning level total and I can then drill into the actiual POs, PRs or SOs from this list without an issue.
2. When running the Cash Position and I do the drill-down to the GL Line Items, I get an enormous list which does not just show the total of items at the previous planning level. Why is this please? Example: a bank account with a balance of £2,000 (shown on the panning level) but with 000's of line items totalling say £5m. Again I have deleted the CM data and recreated but without any improvement to the problem.
Any help anyone can give me with these issues will be very much appreciated.

I have the same trouble with Tcode FF7B. There´s a message "Memo Records: List - List Contains No Data"; bit in the TcodeFF7A, it runs OK. The message appears just witn Tcode FF7A.
Also, There´s all TR data in tables FDSB for GL accounts, FDSR and FDFIEP for customers/vendors.
Can you help me?? can you solved this issue?

Creation of new planning level in BPS0 in BW 3.5

Dear Experts,
I have to create a new planning layout in BW 3.5 BPS
for this ,I have followed the below procedure:
-Maintained the master data of new keyfigures in Info Object: Key Figure (0MEASURE) in RSA1
-Copied the Similar Planning level in the same Planning area (in which I need to add the new one) and created a new planning level with its subordinate objects and then changed by deleting the keyfigures except # and added the new keyfigures, to be maintained in new planning area and saved.
-Changed the planning layout (which is created automatiacally whne we copied planning level) by deleting the existing key figures except 0KEYFG_FLAG and added the required key figure and saved.
-copied the planning profile and created a new planning profile and changed it with required planning level and package and saved.
-In T-code:upx_mntn1, I could see the new planning level with the required key figure there.
But this new planning profile is not appraring in the CRM server.
As I haven't worked in BPS , please guide me if there is any thing needs to be done or any changes in the procedure followed.
Please share any documentation or links you have ....regarding this

What is the significance of having a compound master data in the planning levels?

In "SAP2" model there is PERPRODCUST as a planning level.
This planning level has PERIOD, PRODUCT, CUSTOMER and PRODUCT-CUSTOMER master data as part of the planning level.
Wouldn't PERIOD, PRODUCT, CUSTOMER be sufficient? Why is the compound master data required to be added to this planning level.
Could someone clarify this for me.

I'll attempt:
It depends on if you want to surface the result/value of the compound master data type on the key figures in your planning level. If you do then you'll need to include it in the planning level.
If the question is why would I want a compound master data type, then my attempt at that answer is as follows:
From my understanding, the idea of a compound key figure is that you are able to derive an attribute or attributes that are related to, in this case, two master data types - all without having to 'store' that attribute on the transactional record.
Here is a simplistic example:
Master data on PRODUCT (where PRODID is the key)

Setting # for 0CALYEAR in selection for planning level in BPS

hi all!
when i try to set # for 0CALYEAR (and other time variables) in selection for planning level in BPS, i recieve the following error message: 'Value # is not permitted for characteristic Calendar Year' (UPC003). As i understand, this problem began to occur after upgrading to SPS12.
we have BI 7.0 installed
can anyone help me solve this problem please?

Check in year master data if value BLANK (#) exists. System should permit only those values for characteristics which are available in master data tables. 
Secondly, does system allow you to select value # for calendar year using the F4 drilldown?

How to make authorization to different planning level on one planning area?

now the situation is one planning area call one global company, under that we create several planning level for serveral sub-company. The authorization should that one sub-comp. only can display, change his planning level, and can not display any other sub-comp. So, in this case how to make authorization? Thanks!

One variable X is assigned to Y characterstic in the Selection tab of planning level.
I want see the properties of X variable, i want to see the defination part of X varaible.
where can i find the x variable?

Affect of a new planning level selection

we have a BW-BPS environment with lots of BPS functionalities, palnning sequenses, save, copy functions...
Until now we have all products from SAP R/3 extracted.
Newly there are now in SAP R/3 lots of small products. Planning people donu2019t want to see and plan all products in planning layouts. They want to see to plan only the "important products".
The following solution is thought.
we will create a product hierachie with 2 hierarchie node: "important products" and "small products".
the hier. node u201Cimportant productsu201D should be used in all planning levels in selections.
How can it (selection in planning level) affect the current planning functions ?
What would you suggest here?

Hi,
Planning functions are assigned to just one planning level. So if you have planned to restrict the values using Hierarchy at planning level, then the underlying functions will apply only to that hierarchy members.

Ad hoc package is generated for you to use; usually we ignore them, and use our own with our naming standards for the same of authorization and other purposes.

Planning Level/Package names not displaying correctly in BPS0 (BI7)

We have just upgraded our BW system from 3.5 to BI7. We are running SEM 3.5.
We now seem to have a display issue with the titles of some planning levels and packages within BPS0.
On some planning level/package lines the display in the left hand pane of BPS0 is truncated with only a partial description, even though the full description is displayed in the right hand pane. This is not consistent, as other levels and packages are displayed correctly. It is not truncating at the same place in all instances.
I have tried to delete the description and re-input it again, but the problem persists.
Similar display issues occur in UPSPL in a seemingly random fashion.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have just found out what is happening and the solution....but no nearer to knowing why.
The display problem occurs in descriptions of planning levels and packages in BPS0 and in UPSPL & UPSPM. Also when viewing global planning sequences.
The cause is the use of "&" in a description text. When this character is removed and replaced with another, eg "+", then the descriptions display correctly.
I wonder if this is to do with "&" being a special character, which I believe XML doesn't handle too well?
Anyway, I can now change the descriptive text and the problem goes away.

T.c FF7B: planning levels for Logistics

Hi All,
With reference to the Report FF7B and the CM data from Logistics,
I've defined the planning levels for logistics and the others steps under the CASH MANAGEMENT menù of SPRO.
But the report FF7A doesn't prodide me the logistic data... are there other customizing steps out of the CASH MANAGEMENT menù of SPRO.

If you have done the config as mentioned by Kalyan, i.e. define planning groups, assign/link them to planning levels and assign the appropriate planning level in customer/vendor master data either you run FF7B (for liquidity forecast) or even you can run FF7A, but need to tick the check box for liquidity forecast.

Planning level - Liquidity forecast

I have done settings for liquidity forecast. I have created planning levels, planning groups, source symbols etc. From MM, I have included PR, PO, Sch Agreements, etc. I have posted few PRs and POs and Vendor Masters are asigned cash management groups also. However, while simulating the Liquidity Forecast report, system does not show PRs or POs which are posted and released. But I can see the vendor balances posted in FI books.
Have I missed any setting ?

There is a transaction " define planning levels for logistic". In this step you allocate transaction from MM and SD to the planning levels you ahve defined. this allocation is neccessary since the system cannot determine planning level by using master record fields as it does to access data from FI.
In FI planning level for G/L is specified in G/L master. However a business transaction in logistics is represented by an Internal ID
1 = PR
2 = PO
3 = Scheduling agreement
you must assign these transactions to a plannning level in CM
T-code :- Financial Supply Chain Management> Cash and Liquidity Management>Cash Management>Structuring>Define planning levels for Logistics
Please let me know if you ahve done this setting. Would advise you to revisit your config for INT code - level- Planning group.
