BTE Transfer in CIF

Dear Expert
I am using  BTE  mode for transfer  data to apo from ECC through CIF .
IN Tcode CFC9 i have selected as BTE
I want to know where the changes are recorded  when we are using BTE .
example:
If i have material ABC0123 i have mrp controller as 10  i have transffered the material to apo through activating IModel . then i have made changes in MRP controller as 20 now I want to check where the changes are recoerded in ecc side . how ever if  i go to apo product master i can see the change
But i want to know how the changes are recorded .Please help me out
Regards
Virender

Hi Virender,
When you have activated BTE, the changes in the master data are transfer immediatelly. In ECC each change is stored in the corresponding table, MARA, MARC, etc.. You can also check the change log tables. Is this what you are asking?
Regarding the use of BTE for master data, just take into account what SAP said in the help about BTE for new master data:
Creating New Master Data Relevant to SAP APO - Integration of SAP APO and SAP R/3 - SAP Library

  • Master data transfer using CIF

    Hi all,
I am just clueless. I am trying to transfer master data from ERP to EWM but it ain't happening. It is throwing out this error. System: P6QCLNT800 User: RFC_USER_1 12/11/2010
    Function/Q/SAPAPO/CIF_LOC_INBOUND
Text: Internal error in IGS2, US. RFC: Connection Error.
Here P6QCLNT800 is the target system and RFC destination and also the logical system for SCM EWM. User is the RFC user.
All my settings and configs are right atleast as per SAP documentation for integrating EWM as an add on. I tried after disabling geocoders for US using the GEOCODERS report. Still I am getting, I have checked my RFC destination and tested my connection it is working fine in SM59. What should I do to proceed further?
I posted this in SCM LE forum but I guess this post is more suitable here.

    85,
This document tells me to create a RFC user with user type System. While I've created with the type communications.
This shouldn't make much difference.  When I am debugging a new implementation I will make the USERID dialogue with SAP_ALL until all connectivity problems are resolved, then change the USERID to System (I have never used communications, although I do not doubt that it works) , and take away the excess authorization.  From the sound of it, the type of USERID may not be your problem.
A common problem is the case sensitivity of passwords.  You usually get some kind of logon error message, though (with standalone SCM anyway).  When your userid is 'dialogue', and you execute SM59, and perform a remote logon, this will tell whether logon issues are still a problem.  I always set my passwords in the destination to all uppercase, since the CIF seems to capitalize PWs before it sends them across.
does your document fit my case?
Not exactly. Unfortunately, I have never set up EWM as an addon, so I can't speak from experience.  The instructions in your doc seem to mostly parallel the standard SCM connectivity docs though, so most of the steps are probably the same.

  • Sales Orders transfer using CIF

    Hi,
We are having a rather peculiar situation in our project where Sales orders do not get CIFfed across to APO. The suspicion that it could be due to a RFC issue seems to be pretty slim, considering the fact that Product and Locations are getting CIFfed across properly. When the integration model is activated there is a clear message however that the sales order is transmitted. But same is not seen using the CIF comparison report /SAPAPO/CCR.
Have any of you guys observed a situation like this?
    Thanks much,
    Srikanth

    Srikanth,
we are not able to access the inbound queue of APO using the button still.
QRFC monitor is the equivalent of SMQ1.  You can review, delete, or reprocess outbound queues, or individual Logical Unit of Work (LUWs)  here.  In R/3, generally, you cannot repair any APO queues, such as the APO inbound.  For this, you must log onto APO.
When you click 'ignore', the error is ignored and the next LUW is processed.  If there are no futher errors, or if you press ignore repeatedly, you will eventually process every possible LUW in the queue.  The errored LUWs remain in the queue, unprocessed, with an error status, and the final queue event is never reached.  Without the final event the IM will not be activated
There are 4 possible queues. 1.  R/3 outbound and optionally 2. APO inbound; 3. APO outbound and optionally 4. R/3 inbound.
Using SMQ1 and SMQ2 in R/3 you can only manage the R/3 queues (r/3 outbound and r/3 inbound).  If you wish to repair or delete the APO outbound or inbound, you must log ont APO and use SMQ1 (outbound) and SMQ2 (inbound).  Most people I know just use /SAPAPO/CQ, where, assuming proper authorization is set up, it can be configured to both review and edit all four queues in one transaction.
Now you say you cannot get new orders to go across without Deactivate/reactivate.  This implies that the IM is not configured properly for real time replication.  Did you read the connectivity and replication guides I mentioned earlier?  Specifically the section about "Activating the Application Indicator" (BF11)?

    Hi Deepak,

  • CIF Doubts 2

    Hello Gurus,
            Please clarify my CIF doubts.
    1. In daily life there will lot of materials created everyday. So how do we dynamically transfer it to APO system (If possible with the transaction data)
    without doing it manually?
    2. Significance of CFC9 transaction
    3. I have created an integration model and selected only material ,location and sales orders.
Now I need to add an additional field say stock in the integration model. Do let me know how to go about it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Siva.

    1. In daily life there will lot of materials created everyday. So how do we dynamically transfer it to APO system (If possible with the transaction data)
    without doing it manually?
you have the option in CFC9, ALE change transfer periodic(1),
    BTE Transfer, Immediately(2)..
so if you select, 2, master data transfer will be online...For this your integration model should be active..
    2. Significance of CFC9 transaction
Here, we mention , how data transfer should happen..
    either periodically or immediately..
    3. I have created an integration model and selected only material ,location and sales orders.
Now I need to add an additional field say stock in the integration model. Do let me know how to go about it?
change your existing model and activate it again

  • CIF Material Classification

    Hi All,
We use Material Classification (001 type) in R/3 system.   But not able to transfer via CIF to APO.
The Characteristics are already transferred, but I had to create Class manually in APO (using CL01) and assigned all Characteristics to that Class.
But now, we I do material master CIF Material classification values not transferred (no values exists in CL20N).
Also, another question, Like R/3 material master, should Classification tab/view in APO Product Master show material classification? or this Classification view meant only for CDP/CBP?
    Thanks,
    Niranjan

    Hi Senthil,
    1. When I execute Material model (contains only material and plants) in CFM1 it shows in the next screen only "Material master data" and in details  it shows only material, mat description and Plant.  I don't see Class anywhere. So that means class is incorrectly maintained?  But We could maintain classification values correctly in Material Master.
    2. Class and Char are created in APO. Chars got transfered using CIF but I had to create Class manually in APO.
    3. So Classification view in Product master is only for CDP,  we don't see material classification values in product master. Do we need to use CL20N?

  • Limitations for CIFing a material

    Hi,
Do we have any limitation to CIF a material to APO? I mean what are the prereqs to successful transfer of material from R/3 to APO, except Cifing the plant before materials.
Any thing or MRP group, type, etc....??
I am trying to CIF a material with strategy group 52 (Plnng w/o final assem. w/o make-to.stock) but the material is not CIFed and I don't see any thing in SMQ1 in R/3 or SMQ2 in APO... just wondering what might have happened.
MY CFC9 setting for Material Master Change Transfer is 2 (BTE Transfer, Immediately)
    Thanks.
Edited by: Raj G on May 9, 2008 11:08 AM

    Hi Raj,
For an Initial Transfer of a Material, only the Location will need to be trasferred first.
Also, the CFC9 setting you had mentioned will be relevant for change transfers and not for an initial transfer.
What I think could be the problem is a Filter Condition for the Material which could have been set in CFM1, during Generation of Integration Model. It could be that that the Material was not taken into consideration at all during Generation/Activation of the Integration Model, and hence was not transferred.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • The descriptions for materials are not being updated automatically inside of APO

    Hi All,
We did some changes in material master descriptions in ECC. After the weekly run of integration models also these changes are not updating in APO.
Please let me know do we need to changes in integration models or CIF settings.
    Advance Thanks.

    Hello Giri
I am giving some general guidelines on Master Data transfer using CIF. This will likely resolve your issue.
By running below programs in their order, you will be able to achieve Periodic Data Transfers through Batch Jobs.
Generate integration model - RIMODGEN  (Same as CFM1)  and
Activate integration model - RIMODAC2 (Same as CFM3)
And transaction CFP1 or program RCPTRAN4 can be used for Processing change pointers
This approach will transfer the differential data w.r.t Master data. It will also help minimize data transfer related to master data.
    Transaction CFC9 :
For master data it is commonly used - Option#1 of "ALE Change Transfer, Periodic" from CFC9. Changes to master data objects in ECC are recorded and then transfer of the changes is done periodically.
However if required, it can be transferred Immediately using Option#2 of "BTE Transfer, Immediately" from CFC9.
    If Option#1 selected then,
1.CIF Message types must be activated for change recording. Transaction BD50
    2.Activate Change Pointers. Transaction BD61.
3.The fields relevant to a message type to be selected. Transaction BD52
4.Table BDCPV can be used to view Change pointers.
Please check:  SAP Note 533755 - Description of the delta logic or the program RIMODINI. This note has some key recommendations on use of RIMODINI/CIF Delta Logic
    Hope this will help.

  • Automatic generation of integration models

For Automatic Generation of integration Model we referred SAP Help and have done the settings as per SAP help.
         T code: CFC9
Material Master Change Transfer         2 (BTE Transfer, Immediately)
         T code: BF11
         Maintained
         ND-APO     New Dimension PlugIn APO
         T code: SM30
         Table:     CIFIMODGEN
    Connection pt     Counter     Program     Variant
    MAT_INS        1     RIMODGEN     RSG_BTE
But system is not generating NEW  Integration Model.
    Reference from SAP Help:
Make the following settings to change to online transfer:
Use transaction CFC9 to call the screen Change Target-System-Independent Settings in CIF. Under Change Transfer for Master Data, choose BTE Transfer, Immediately. As of SAP R/3 4.0B, you can make this setting in CIF Customizing in SAP R/3 under Basic Settings for the Data Transfer ® Configure Change Transfer for Master Data.
Use transaction SM30 to call the screen Maintain Table Views: Initial Screen. Call table CIFIMODGEN. You see the screen Change View "Customizing Automatic Generation of Integration Models". You determine the procedure for adapting the integration model by making entries in this database table.

Did you run program RIMODGEN in SE38 with appropriate variant to generate new integration models ? The spro settings or CFC9 have nothing to do with generation of new integration models. try to do some forum search on Integration Models and you may get some clue.

  • Error in R3 system when create the Goods receipt in EWM

    Dear EWM expert,
I have an error in R3 system when I confirm the goods receipt in EWM for inbound delivery
    the error in SMQ2 is:
PALLET is an auxiliary packaging material and cannot be used as pack.mate
PALLET is a packaging matirial type VERP that I've create in in R3 and I have transfer via  cif it in EWM.
We have the new EWM 7 and i check some OSS note for a programm error in transfering of pakaging material during the GR but they are available only for EWM 5 and they are not available for EWM 7.
Could you explain me if this error coul be caused by some customising settings or by some master data field.
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi
I am not sure of your problem since there may be quite a few reasons why this would happen. However just try one thing - change the Packing material category from "auxaliary packing material" to "packing material" in Define Packaging Material Types under logistics general--->HU Management ---> Basics for the packing material type you are using in VERP and then create a new packing material and try the inbound delivery. It may work
    Thanks

  • SAP APO with SAP R/3 integration

    Hi All,
From a technical perspective, what is it that a developer should know to work on SAP APO with SAP R/3 integration. Kindly elaborate on this if you can...
    Thanks in advance.
    Marvin
Edited by: Marvin Jones on Feb 3, 2008 5:09 AM

Standard APO and R/3 CIF integration does not need additional ABAP coding.
However if you are going to enhance any master or transaction data while transfer via CIF using BADI or User-exits then good amount of ABAP expertise is required.
Per my understanding USer-exits are classical ABAP while BADI are Object-oriented.
While I cannot comment if there will be "immense" amount of coding to be done but CIF user exits remain a critical component of any implementation. Its not the "amount" but "complexity" - need to understand the source system and target system behaiour and then accordingly modify, that matters.
Thumbrule - if its master data modification then its simple. If its transaction data modification then its can become quite complex.
    Hope this helps.

  • CIF Plant transfer

We have been running APO with CIF transfers of plants when new plants are created and materials daily.
We have set-up a new plant with complete and correct address, time zone, regions etc.
There is only one active integration model at a time, verified.  Upon new creation, no errors and no error in activation.  But this new plant will not transfer, no error logs, no queues no sign there is any error, but no location is created.
I have followed  the trouble shooting, error checks in the CIF Trouble shooting.  At this point it says to create an OSS.
    Anybody have tips, suggestions?
    We are on ECC5, SCM4.1

    Monica,
    Ask yourself the following ...
    - Are you able to Transfer ANY Location /Plant at all to APO or is it just a few  ?  My guess (not sure) is you are doing Integration Models activation first time, since you are doing the location which is the first thing.
    - I am assuming you have done all the Configuration necessary (BSG, User Settings, CFC9 ... etc) for Integration Models to be Activated.
    - Check in ECC in BF11 if the ND-APO Flag is Set to Transfer BTEs (Business Transaction Events) to APO.
    - For Plants I am assuming you  done all the Setup in ECC to define them as a Manufacturing Plant or DC or
    - All Locations need a POSTAL Code / ZIP Code to be Entered in the Address.  This is absolutely a Must for Plants to come over to APO as Locations.
    - Also on TIMEZONE .... I have learnt that it is Better to define all the Plants in the Same TimeZone and they belong to Multiple Countries then use the UTC TimeZone  (you can use UTC for GMT,  UTC530 for IST,  UTC-5  instead of EST, UTC-8 instead of PST, UTC8 for Singapore ... etc.)
    - If all is OK ... try Deactivating via CFM2 & then Deleting the Locations Integration Model Completely via CFM7.  Then Generate a Fresh one (Initial Load) for just that 1 Location and Activate it.  This should get the Location across to APO if all the Pre-requisites above are fulfilled.
    -  If it still does not ... my guess is that your PI Version, LiveCache Build version are incompatible & you will get the right answer on OSS itself.
Hope this helps.  Pls Reward Points if you found this usefull.

  • CIF - Master Data Transfer from ERP to SCM(SNC)

    Hi,
I am very new to SAP SCM.
Can anyone please provide me documentation links , helpful material for the CIF customization in SNC for Master Data Transfer.
e.g If I need to send a predefined value for Business Logical System from ERP to SAP SNC
i.e from ERP 1 to SNC ( Business Logical System ends with suffix 00 )
and  from ERP 2 to SNC ( Business Logical System ends with suffix 01 )

  • Cif Online Material Transfer Error

    Hi,
we have used user exit APOCF005 to include MD transfer values from a Ztable. everything works fine when the CIF model for material is reactivate. but when we make some changes to the r/3 material, the change transfer causing a particular field(from the ztable) emptied and the right value restores only after the reactivation of the model.
what could be the problem, can you pls help.
    Thanks
    Dhanush

    Hi Digambar,
Thank you for the reply. but the problem occurs only when we do some changes in the mat master, during ONLINE transfer( the settings relevant for the same are quite fine) it simply disappears s specific field value coming frm the ztable ...and the value reappears only when we reactivate the model background..
any specific setting needs to be checked to rectify this/any suggestions.

  • CIF Transfer retail stores to SCM

    Hi Gurus,
    IS Retail ECC 6.0
    SCM 7.02
Can someone please shed some light on the best possible way to transfer company owned retail stores (location type: 1040) to SCM through the integration model? Do company owned Stores go through the Plant/ Site IM?
We have an active Customer IM which has also brought in all the assigned/underlying Stores but as 1010 (and not as 1040) to SCM.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Oz,
As per my knowledge Stores go as Plants only.Company owned stores are part of company only not like Customers or Vendors.
Based on the settings you created for Stores in ECC they will be transferred to APO as Loc. type: 1040. Select the object Plants..
You can change location type by using program /SAPAPO/CHANGE_LOCTYPE
    Below thread is also useful..
CIF interface: Error transfering material plant
    Hope it helps..
    Thanks,
    Bala.
