BTM (Business Transaction Manager) - anyone using Quick Start ?

We are trying to use the Quick Start package as a way to learn BTM fundamentals. It installs on Tomcat and that seems to work fine. We'd like to set up an Observer so that we can create transactions to monitor.
Has anybody done this? We won't have our hardware for the "real" installation for a couple of weeks yet and we'd like to be able to use that time with this Tomcat system - we understand it is not the real thing ;-)

Unless there is some other reason, users should own the right to share their mailboxes - it shouldn't be something that demands administrator management (if only so that the administrators aren't swamped by user requests for sharing their mailboxes).
For true shared mailboxes, when the mailbox is created, full access is granted by an administrator.

How to obtain Business Transaction Management ?

I'm new to OEM, so I think I'm confusing myself ! How do I download the Business Transaction Management product ? As I read the Oracle documentation it sounds like a separate product - perhaps I am wrong about that ?

Thanks, guys. I was able to download the BTM products.
It is interesting - all of the documentation from these sources refers to a version of AmberPoint. Based on the latest BTM Installation Guide (Dec 2010), the architecture appears to have changed - there are Monitors and Observers rather than apContainers and apProxyNodes and nano-agents. I'm not sure if this is a real architecture change or just a different way of describing the products.

Can the business transaction be controlled using user status profile?

there is a requirment that in a project there will be 3 stages of approval.
Each stage of approval should allow specific business transaction.
eg. When the project is apporved in 1st stage then only PR's and pln Oders can be raised.
When 2nd stage is approved then PR's can be converted to PO.
When 3rd stage is approved then and Production activity can take place.
I would like know whether user staus profile can be used to control the business transactions? If yes how?
If user status is not possible, can any one help me out?

As per me this scenario can be handled without user status
When the project is apporved in 1st stage then only PR's and pln Oders can be raised.
If ur generating PR/ planned order thru MRP run it is only possible after WBS release.So give the WBS release authorisation to 1 st authority.
When 2nd stage is approved then PR's can be converted to PO.
Put release strategy to PR so that there can be check by autourised person.
When 3rd stage is approved then and Production activity can take place.
Give production order Release authorization to person who is responsible for production planning.
It is not suggestable to look at this scenario for applying user status.

Cisco Notification Service - Profile Manager "anyone use this service"?

We are undergoing a WAN analysis and one of the questions was "Do we receive field notices on IOS or hardware from Cisco"?
We don't and I don't want to receive evrey notice on all products
Does anyone have any insight into this service?
Can it be tweaked so that I only receive notices on products that I have purchased or cross referenced with my Cisco Contracts?

813 new library services / content manager: anyone using in production

Greetings,
I'm looking for feed back on the new library services / content manager in 813.
We're currently using InterWoven for CMS to WLP7. We're migrating WLP7 to WLP813 and are pondering whether the CMS built into WLP813 is solid, usable and production ready?
If so we'd drop use and support costs for Interwoven.
What would be lost that I can imediately see is easy promotion of content between dev, qa, prod. We'd have to use DB replication scripts. Could use helps here too.
BTW, I found a nifty DB/table migration tool: opendbcopy.org

i.e I use a QNAP TS410 nas which does all that you want on mac flawlessly, so at the minimum add this to your potential list.

Navigation is not possible as there is not any business transaction

I am using IC Web Client 5.0. When i clicked on sales order view in the ic web client Navigetion bar i have encountered with a problem.
"Error: Navigation is not possible as there is not any business transaction".

Check whether u have assigned ur transaction type in spro setting:
Customer Relationship Management>Interaction Center WebClient>Business Transactions-->Define Business Transaction Profiles.
Hereselect ur Business Transaction Profile and assign ur Dependent Business transaction.

Regarding Oracle Business Process Manager and WS-Security

Actually I like to invoke couple of secure services running on seperate
server runnnig JWSDP.These services are using WS-security,so I am just
wondering if it possible to call these webservices through Oracle
Business Process Manager.
As our secure services are using JWSDP so thats the reason we prefer to
use the BPEL engine which deployed on top of JWSDP so that We dont
have to confront with compatable issues among different toolkits.
So I am just wondering do you think that Oracle business process manager
ws-secuirity implementation can use the JWSDP implementation i.e
xws-security implementation,in otherwords is it possible to use JWSDP

Has anyone used infin to assist in troubleshooting ?

I had a security problem when my firewall was temporarily turned off. A tech company named "infin" assisted me with the problem and with a printer problem. Since assisting me, the tech said that the company will no longer be in business. Has anyone used "infin" for assistance because the tech said his company does a lot of work on Apple products. I am trying to find out more on the company.

How did you find that company?
Did you allow them remote access to your computer?
Did you give them credit card details?
If you google their name, you'll find several entries. I've never heard of them. And no, I've never used them - nor would I ever. Why deal with an unknown company when I can call Apple tech support or visit a Genius Bar in the Apple store free of charge?

GeneratePDFService quick start code issue

I am getting a build error, while using quick start code for converting the native document into PDF document through webservice api.
error: The type or namespace TestPDFG8WS couldn't found
In the quickstart code, it is using TestPDFG8WS as namespace as you can see below a line of code.
using TestPDFG8WS.GeneratePDFService;
Any idea, what reference we have to add to fix the issue ?.

Business Transaction Profile - Error when using Z-Transaction Type

Dear Experts,
we are using SAP CRM 7.0 (Support Level 0007 - SAPKU70007). I have created a Z-Business Transaction Profile Z_IC_SERVICE.
SAP Help says:
Enter the transaction type to be used as a default in your scenario in the IC WebClient. For example, choose the transaction type 0010 (Interaction Record) if an interaction record is to be created automatically. The system creates this interaction record automatically after the interaction has started (for example, after accepting a call). During this, the activity clipboard in the interaction record is filled with the relevant data.
So when I am using the transaction type 0010 (Interaction Record) in my Business Transaction Profile all is OK that means I can search for accounts and I can confirm them to go on with the process.
BUT: When I entering here a Z Transaction Type (Z000) the systems shows the errors:
- Error occurred in class CL_ICCMP_CUCOIREC_IMPL, event InteractionStarted.
- Error occurred in class CL_ICCMP_CUCOIREC_IMPL, event BPConfirmed.
Then I have made a copy of the transaction type 0010 (Name of copy: Z010) and tried to use it in my Business Transaction Profile the system says:
Customizing settings missing. Assign partner functions to Z010
Anybody know what to do and where to avoid errors? Note 1346892 is obsolete in this case because we already have the highest Support Package Level.

Hi yes you were right. In the case of both transaction type I have corrected the customizing parameters in
SPRO -> Customer Relationship Management -> Interaction Center WebClient -> Business Transaction -> Assign Partner Functions to Business Transactions
In the case of Transaction Type Z010 I had Z-Partner Functions and and that leaded to the errors:
- Error occurred in class CL_ICCMP_CUCOIREC_IMPL, event InteractionStarted.
- Error occurred in class CL_ICCMP_CUCOIREC_IMPL, event BPConfirmed.
In case of the Transaction TYPE Z000 I forgot to assign the Partner Functions that is why this error appeared:
Customizing settings missing. Assign partner functions to Z010

When i try to start the managed server using node manager i get the following error

The managed server lok file is deleted, port is not in use. With similar node manager settings the managed server on the redundant server starts fine
