Bubble Model

When we use the “Bubble Model” the basis objects of  the Multidimensional model , facts and dimensions can easily be identified. The Key Figure structure are the facts in the center of the “Bubble Model”
a.     True
b.     False

Yes, this is true.
In bubble model we have different entities connected centrally with facts. Take the classic example of Airline industry where Flight, Time, Aircraft, Gate (terminal), and Customer can be taken as separate bubles and connected to the cenral fact list of no of passengers, freight weight, utilization etc. Further this model can be converted as star schema where these bubles will be dimensions (with attribute, text and hierarchy). And central system will be facts.
Hope this helps in understanding.

What is a bubble model?

That behavior definitely sounds odd. I would expect models that worlk in previous versions of VeriStand to work with newer ones as well.
With that said several other things have changed in the interum between VeriStand 2010 and VeriStand 2013.

• Bubble chart - problem with overlaying bubble

Hi all,
I have problem with bubble chart. Two bubbles are overlaying, that wouldn't be a problem, but one of this two bubbles is bigger and other is smaller. This smaller is beneath bigger. Why smaller is not on top of bigger? How to solve this?
Thanks

Hi Andrew,
We have experienced similar problems, however they usually were with much larger models (10+ tabs, 10+ components in each).
If you're using a lot of data or more intensive processes/components, that may have caused the problem to express earlier, though.
The best recommendation is to keep Tabset use shallow:  don't embed containers within containers, not too many components in a tab, not too many tabs.

• What's the latest Jan. 2010 spec LCD panel model #? (e.g. 9CBD, 9CA0, etc.)

Just wondering if anyone who has a 2010 assembled 13" MBP or recently warrantied MBP can confirm the latest Apple display spec model # (e.g. My MBP was built in Sept.09 and has a 9CBD panel) that is being used?
Got the dreaded light leak developing on the side and hinge edges of my MBP -- but considering that my colours/calibration are pretty much bang on for my eyes as well as the fact that I've painstakingly applied an Anti-Glare film 100% free of lint bubbles LOL -- my conundrum if the latest spec'd panels are really any better or if it's still a lottery on whether you get a good panel if replaced under warranty. The last thing I want is to go backwards in quality!
Also if you've gone through the warranty process I'm curious on whether you have any say on whether it is another 9CBD that goes in or if you can specify to them that you're only satisfied if a Jan. 2010 9CA0 (or whatever # it is) is put in?
I am planning to wait to see if Apple quietly updates the LCD panels in the MBP line at the Jan. 27 iTablet/iPhone OS4.0 event before taking it in anyways, but hopefully someone can shed some light into how Apple have been going about dealing with the light leak issues. Thanks again.

Thanks for your kind cmments matrixxzero. I agree rockykoston I will replace my keyboard eventually myself too, with all the stories here I'm terrified to hand my laptop into service, apart from not having the spare time, Idon't want it to come back scatched, damaged and/or unfixed. That doesn't augur well for Lenovo guarantees. I am fully cpable of servicing it myself but many customers aren't and shouldn't have to.
As I say the other issue is model lines. Our Chinese friends have proven they can maintain quality and innovate now but their shere manufacturing muscle means it's all too easy to have too many models and too many variants with too much crossover.
Why drop a great design like the Z710, only let down by a middling to poor Nvidia chip and introduce new 17.3" models with absolutely no maintenance covers and sealed batteries!! They should have upped the Nvidia chip (the same as the Y50) and a better WLAN card. Same with the 15.6" models - evolve the Z510 to have a case like the Z50 but the same or better components again. Similarly the Y50 should have been an evolution of the Y510 not a step down.
Lenovo has definitely gone cheap in the upper end of the consumer range, when they needn't as there are tons of cheap laptops from the brand.
Most of the reviews I came across for the Z510 described it as having very good build quality and since I changed laptops three times from the same store within my purchase period I had chance to compare closely, with at least Toshiba and Acer. I would not agree with these reviews it's OK but not great. The metal upper case fooled me a bit but it's less sturdy than a cheap i3 HP laptop it replaced. Again for around a $1000 it should be better.

• Can a bubble in thermal paste make CPU temp range 39ºC-60ºC?

Hello.
I've read the postits above and they say 45 ºC idle is very likely the heatsink spreader is not properly seated or the temperature is wrong.
But, what if idle temp is about 39 on the heatsink (meassured with a termometer) and the bios says CPU temp is 39? Does that mean I did well with thermal paste and heatsink? Does that mean the motherboard is reading the righ temperature?
It could look like I am asking a very easy question, but I feel it is not. Just go on reading.
I need to know if BIOS does actually provide the rigth temp because:
When the system heats up due to CPU under heavy load, CPU temp goes up to 50-55 ºC sometimes even close to 60 ºC. Could that mean there is an air bubble within the thermal paste but it is too small to interfere when cold enough (40ºC) but big enough when warm (50ºC) lowering heatsink performance and rising CPU temp up to 60 ºC?
Also sys temp is very high. It never gets below 50 ºC but I do not know where that sys temp is taken, and as I have the NB-fan connector conected to the power supply fan, I do not know what that sys temp means. :(
Room temp is around 25 ºC.
It does boot OS and I can actually play games (heavy load for graphics card and CPU). All readings I take were got from CoreCenter application at stock settings (Vcore 1.42 - FSB 201 - Mem volt 2.5 - AGP volt 1.5).
I am afraid of having done a nice job with thermal paste. I know (just read it here) I could easily fry the CPU if not, and I feel 55-60 ºC is too much, isn't it? Of course if BIOS readings are right.
BTW. Here follow details on the system:
CPU: AMD 64 3000+ NewCastle
CPU Family/Model/Step: 15.12.0
Thermal compound: Artic Silver 5
CPU Heatsink: Thermaltake Silent Boost K
Motherboard: MSI K8N Platinum
Motherboard BIOS: 1.4 (08/26/2004)
Graphics Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800 SE AIW (not modded in any way)
Power Supply: Enermax 465 W [EG-465AX-VE(W)FMA]
Case: Lian Li PC-V1000
Mem, hdd, dvd-rw, floppy and D-bracket are present but did not feel necesary to provide details on them.
Thanks

Well, if your heatsink is cold and your CPU temp on BIOS is hot there are two possible reassons:
BIOS 1.4 does not guarantee accurate CPU temp readings
Heatsink is not properly seated on the CPU or thermal paste has bubbles within
But that is not my situation. I do know CPU readings are accurate when it shows 39 ºC because I actually used a termometer in contact with the heatsink to meassure it.
What I am not sure is if that accuracy is so when the CPU is hot (>50ºC) as it is when cold (

• Bubbles in black border

Hello I have a brand new 2013 late model Macbook Pro 13 retina. I have noticed there small bubbles underneat the black border of the monitor. At first I thought these were scratches but the more I looked the more I could plainly see it was a bubble. I have a few of them around the border and I am not sure if this is normal for Macbooks and wanted to find out if others have noticed this.

This seems to be an ongoing issue that we're trying to get Apple to resolve, it seems that some production batches have a bad AR coating that gradually comes off (and it'll get worse), have a look at this thread.  We're trying to get Apple to take notice of this issue

• Looking for a Bubble game i had on another mobile. Cant find so far

The concept of this bubble game was to match as many as possible to gain points and to have as many of the same colour all connected in some way gave massive points when deleted. This game was on my O2 XDA Trion & also had been on a similar model that i had with T mobile.
Im looking for something similar, i dont think any of the bubble games available are like that but maybe there is a game with the same idea?

Yeah its very like it. Downloaded it but still trying for almost the same game

• How can I distort an image like 3d bubbles.

Hello everyone.  What I'm wanting to accomplish is making an image (static image jpg) feel like it's a lava lamp.  I found a really good tutorial on creative a lava lamp effect (the bubble movement) here (http://www.premiumbeat.com/blog/video-tutorial-creating-a-lava-lamp-effect/) and I've had no trouble getting that working.  What I want now, is to be able to use that a mask over an image (again, no problem there), but now I want the image that is behind it to "bulge" outward as if the image was part of the bubbles (in a 3d space).  Feeling like the image was "wrapped" around the lava bubbles, or something to that nature.  It doesn't have to be a big bulge, just enough that it doesn't feel like a flat mask (window through to the image behind) and instead feels more like a physical object.
Is that possible with AE, or would I need to look into actually modeling a lava lamp in a 3D application and texturing it with my image? (I have some 3D experience, but would prefer to use AE if at all possible).

What blue bubble are you trying to turn on? If you mean that the Send button will not work, go to Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off. Make sure that is set to off.
If you send an iMessage, the texts between the devices appear in a blue bubble.
iMessages only work between iOS devices and they are different than the standard text messages that any cell phone can send to another cell phone.

• Looking for eMac: How To Differentiate Between Models Document

Hello,
I have been trying to find an Apple help document about how to differentiate between eMac models.
I have found an article about iMacs, but can not seem to find one for eMacs. Here is a link to the iMac article, just so you can better understand exactly what I've been looking for:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58669
Does anybody know of a direct link to a similar article for all eMac machines? That would be amazing; thank you in advance for any help. =) *april

Hello Dave =)
Thank you for your help and for responding to my post.. The article you posted would have completely solved my problem, however, I, unfortunately, do not have access to serial numbers, and the serial number is mandatory for identifying eMac models in the article you posted. I appologize for not being more specific about exactly what I need.
You see, I am looking on eBay for a good, used, possibly older eMac for my mom. Unfortunately, nobody puts serial numbers in their eMac listings, so I can not properly identify and price compare different eMacs. eBay sellers only list such things as Model Name, Processor Speed MHz, SDRAM and Hard Drive GB, so I need a list to 'check against' like the iMac document. I am mostly trying to find out which eMac models came with DVD players, and also which ones are AirPort ready and AirPort Extreme enabled etc.
Would you happen to know if there's any such eMac model document?
Thank you again for posting to my question; I do appreciate it. *april

• Manipulating Legend Bubble chart in Crystal Report XI

Hi,
I would like to know how to put legend  positoning the name inside the chart above marker instead of left botton and right.
for example in the bubble sample of chart.rpt located in Features example, i would like to have Distrito Federal located above the Circle marker.
If not is that possible by progamming with the model object of crystal

I think you can change the data labels but not the legend
i want to include the name "Distrito Federal" inside the blue bubble

• Limit on number of series in bubble charts?

Hello all,
I need to use a bubble chart in one of my visualizations (Xcelsius Engage 2008, Excel model only - no live connection), showing gross sales and margin for 13 categories series.  If I map the series(es) individually, then they all show on the legend, and the graph limits change as I use the list box selector to choose the particular customer, but no bubbles - or any indication of data points - show up on the graph.
If, however, I choose to map to a range, I do see data points - but only for the first 6 of the 13 categories.  I've checked the cell range to ensure all 13 categories are included in the selection, and they are, but - again - only 6 show up, or get mapped to the "series" box.
I've resized to cover more real estate, thinking perhaps Xcelsius just didn't want to display bubbles on a smallish graph field, but with no change in the display results.  I have a tree map linked to the exact same data, in the same location, and it works just fine.  But nobody likes the tree map; they want bubbles.
Am I missing something, or is there a limit on the number of series a bubble chart is capable of displaying?
Edited by: Jennifer Leppert on Aug 15, 2008 12:34 PM
Two swfs showing the difference and the xlf are located at http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9e4101c4b4a3cdc1d2db6fb9a8902bda.  Check under the "AEL" tab.

Thank you for the response, Javier.  Unfortunately, it doesn't quite answer the problem.
I have tried mapping the series individually.  While the interface will capture all of the label data, the graph itself does not show any data points when switching to preview mode, or exporting to another file type. (See "Manual Series.swf" at the link in my initial post for a visual).
The X and Y axes are correct, and do adjust depending on the customer selected in the list box, but, again, no bubbles show up.  Is there something else I'm missing, or not doing correctly?  I have an evaluation copy - perhaps it is a limit in the eval copy that would disappear upon registration of a full license?

• Overlapping of clusters in InfiniteInsight Clustering model.

How to eliminate the overlapping of clusters in SAP InfiniteInsight clustering model? What may be the reasons for overlapping. Since, conceptually overlapping should never happen in clustering model, so I am unable to find the reason. Please help with appropriate soluions.

Hi,
I think there are 2 topics in this discussion.
But first, I wanted to mention that there is no cluster overlap. Each record belong to one and only one segment (cluster).
Ashwanth, the screenshot you sent is not showing an "overlap" betwen clusters.
The bubble chart is showing the different clusters based on 2 continuous variables (X and Y) and the bubble width is by default the cluster frequency. A very large cluster will have a large frequency and thus a large diameter. On the graph, it can seem to "overlap" with other clusters but it is not the case.
You can change how the bubble width is represented (with target frequency) and you will see your graph changing and the will probably be no "overlap". (see screenshot below)
You can also click on X and Y buttons to change the variables along wich clusters are displayed.
In order to have nice presentations, you should select X and Y variables that enable a good disposition of clusters (meaning no overlapping, else it's harder to read).
What Doug mentioned refers to what is displayed in the summary report (Model Overview).
When the option "Calculate SQL Expressions" is selected (default setting), a cluster simplification is performed. During the initial steps, there are some clusters overlapping (1 record assigned artificially to more than 1 cluster)
Note, that this happens only during a temporary step of this simplification process. In the end, in the final model, all records are assigned to 1 cluster only.
Another side-effect of this option is that some records, which can be seen as outliers will be excluded from their initial cluster and will be called "Unassigned records". In your final model, you will still have records that belong to no cluster.
If you uncheck the option Calculate SQL Expressions, no overlap and no unassigned records will appear in the model overview.
However, the clusters will be more complex to interpret, and the "In database application" mode will not be available.

• Refresh model tree

When I display model tree and only then add new model using "scene.addModel" the model tree does not get refreshed to display the added nodes. I have also tried to add scene.update(); and runtime.refresh(); but without any luck.
How to force model tree to refresh?

The model tree is published from the 3D API to the Acrobat UI when the 3D annotation is initialized (i.e. when the embedded script completes running for the first time). After that, the only changes you will see occur when a selection event bubble is triggered, so in your case where the models are being loaded after the init loop finishes, you need to force a selection event to fire by temporarily picking and unpicking the newest node in the scene:
scene.addModel("pdf://something.u3d");
scene.selectedNode = scene.meshes.getByIndex(scene.meshes.count-1);
scene.selectedNode = undefined;
That will show your new node in the tree panel in the UI. What you're seeing is 'unintentional correct behavior' in the sense that there's no way to hide an entry in the tree so tying the UI update to a specific event bubble allows someone to add a model, set it to invisible, and avoid the node declaring itself in the UI until the author wants you to see it. Yes, we should have documented what I just told you... but you're only the second person to ask and it's been like this for years
Most people will preload eall the resources during the init loop and set the dynamic bits of the model to invisible - in which case the tree lists everything. You're seeing that effect with your "Time 0 (0)" node.
