Bubble on screen

This is probably a stupid question, but ... here goes. I have an iMac G4 and just noticed a blue 'bubble' on the screen. If I click on it, it slightly lights up but nothing happens. If I do it while in Safari, the screen background gets dark and the Safari window gets more intense in color and print gets somewhat fuzzy.
What is this bubble for, and can I get rid of it?

Use the instructions in this article to turn the bubble off; information on its purpose is also provided.

  • Bubble under screen

So I have had a bubble under the screen of my launch 2G basically since launch, never gave a second thought about it, that is until I saw on these Apple forums that a huge number of people were getting the same bubble. The iPhone is getting a little old, the 1 year warranty is up. I was wondering, will Apple do anything about it? I am hoping they would because I didn't damage the phone at all, this wasn't my fault, it happened right after I got the phone, and besides the bubble the screen is PERFECT, not even a scratch, still looks new, I baby'd this thing. The only Apple store is fairly far from me, would I be wasting my time taking it there?
    Thanks in advance,
    Harry

    Hi!
I am located in Austria, we have no Apple store around, so I gave apple care a call. Had my iPhone replaced because of this in January (via UPS). They replaced it without a doubt. Now I have some bubbles again under my screen and requested a new replacement again. My warranty is up in 20 days so I'm happy I get a new one.
Hope I don't get them again though, since they are pretty annoying!

  • HOW TO PUT THE PLASTIC COVER ON IPHONE WITHOUT BUBBLES ON SCREEN

how to prevent bubbles when putting new screen onto iphone 4

Get yourself an anti-static cleaning cloth (one may come with your protector, or you can buy/find one in the electronics section at a store), and a wallet sized card like a Driver's License, etc.
Thoroughly clean the screen with the cloth, and start with one end of the screen protector, either side is your choice. Work top to bottom. Make sure you line it up correctly. Then SLOWLY work the card up/down the screen protector until you are satisfied. Some air bubbles can be removed with the card, if any debris is stuck between the phone and the screen, start over and clean the "sticky" side of the protector with some clear tape.

  • Bubbles under screen

I received an iPhone from a friend of mine who upgraded to a 3G last week. I noticed that day these two dots on the screen and thought it was due to him not taking care of the device. However, I later saw that the 'dots' are really under the screen and saw that people have had issues with 'bubbles'. I did however check the warranty on this device and it ended Saturday the 18th (roughly 5 days ago). My question here is did the people who got their device replaced for this reason have Apple Care or is this a general replacement that can be done out of warranty? I'm assuming I am out of luck, but everyone who has said "I bought the phone on launch day and just got it replaced" never said if they had a warranty with it or not.
    Thanks!

Not something your friend noticed and if he did notice it, I wonder why he didn't call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store (if there is one nearby) to have this checked and possibly exchanged under warranty.
I don't believe there has been any iPhone recalls that would be considered a general replacement out of warranty, so out of warranty means out of warranty regardless if by a day or by 5 days.
I'm assuming I am out of luck, but everyone who has said "I bought the phone on launch day and just got it replaced" never said if they had a warranty with it or not.
I'm not sure why everyone who has said this would include "replaced under warranty" but just because they didn't include "replaced under warranty" doesn't mean Apple provided a general replacement outside of the warranty or after the warranty expired. More than likely everyone who has said this purchased the AppleCare extended warranty.

  • Bubbles on screen

My phone has five kind of bubbles at the top left and the top right of the screen (two and three). In this location, the light is diffuse. What are they? Do they reflect some kind of trouble? What do you recommend, guys?

Well the bubbles showed up in my iphone and Apple was nice enough to tell me sorry, there is nothing we can do but charge you $199 for a repair. Hmmm let's see where this goes now.

  • Air Bubbles Inside Screen?

Hi, I've had my 3Gs for about a year now and around December of 2010 it started a small bubble developed on the left side of the screen.. I paid it no mind as it was very minor and I'm expecting to get the next iPhone when it is released.
However, the air bubble has grown tremendously and just looks atrocious. And to make matters worse, a second air bubble on the right side of the screen is developing at an even faster rate.
My question is, will I be able to visit the Genius Bar and get this fixed/replaced? Or am I just out of luck?
I'm at work now, I'll post pics sometime tomorrow after I get off in the AM..
    Thanks a million!

Have you ever had a rock hit the windshield of your car and leave a little nick in it (not a crack, just a little divot where a tiny piece of the glass has chipped away? That's what I mean by a chip. A nick. A piece of the glass that has been broken from the surface of the display.
As has already been stated, if it was a manufacturing defect, it would have been there since day 1. Since you said it appeared later, that means the glass came in contact with something hard enough to take a piece out of it.

  • Water/Air Bubble Under Screen?? :(

I managed to get 2 Touchpads in the firesale in the UK.  One for me that I started using straight away with no issues - I'm very happy with it.
However, I also got one for my wife that I hid away until her birthday this week.  It seems to function exactly as it should, but there is a small bubble of water or air under the screen, near the middle.  You can still see the colours under it and it doesn't appear to be creating problems apart from being annoying because it is alwys there   If you tap the screen anywhere else, it seems to glow briefly.
I am assuming this is a manufacturing defect?  I wondered if you'd recommend just putting up with it, or will HP be able to fix this?  Or is there something I can try to fix it?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

Easier said than done on such a shiney screen   Sorry they're a bit blurry - taken on my iPhone!!
Bit of paper to reflect on, you can see the black blob that is the "bubble".
Then here with the screen on (between Music and Photo/Video):
Then here a bit bigger as I touch the screen:
It isn't too noticable on photo's etc.. but shows up more on the black.

  • Air Bubble behind screen?

Recently purchased a brand new 2010 15" MBP (default screen) and just noticed that there's what appears to be a air bubble (slight oil bubble resemblance) between the gloss and LCD that varies in size from max the size of a dime to just a few mm. If I 'gently' apply pressure with the apple cloth over the spot the bubble follows for an inch or two before returning to the same spot. I read in other forums that gently rubbing in small circles around the area will make it disappear. If I gently apply pressure on the back of the screen in the same area the air bubble disappears completely. However it keeps coming back after a few hours whenever I flip open/close my lid. It causes some screen distortions during the blue startup screen but otherwise I only notice it when the monitor is turned off.
Anybody else experience this before? or whether this should be cause for alarm?

I took a quick pic with my iphone, it looks like a mirror but the air bubble area is the distortion above the aerosol can.

MBP was purchased in Hong Kong at premium authorized reseller about 3 weeks ago. I'm not near any official Apple Stores but if I return to Canada in June and I will still be under 1 year warranty will they service it? Does anybody know?
    Thanks

  • Bubbles appearing on the screen?

Has anyone had any issues with bubbles appearing on the screen of their MBP? I mean actual screen defect bubbles not screen graphics, I have just noticed one which is about 4 pixels square and another couple that are around pixel size?
    Cheers
    Rich

    No.
    Send it for repair.

  • Screen shot error?

I just recently bought a MacBook white and the first couple of days, the screen shot process was working. Yesterday I tried to take a screen shot and this bubble pops up. The bubble says, *Screen capture failed* the attempt to take a screen capture has failed. The error is 'Unable to create type string.'
Does anyone know how I can fix this error? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
Try deleting this file. com.apple.grab.plist /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your MacBook. Now try a screen capture.

  • A hole/bubble on the verizon logo

I'm wondering if this is just my phone or its the design.
On the verizon logo there's some kind of bubble/hole on the top below the screen. I havent put a screen protector on this. When i was going to put it I noticed it. It does look like a bubble from screen protector.
Unfortunately I cant take a picture of it. I tried using my other cellphone camera but the image is not clear enough to show it.
Its next to the 1st line of the logo on the top.
I know its not the led notification because the notification is below the speaker.
I have no issue with the phone itself. Except some apps that force closed on me. But I suspect thats because its the apps itself.
can anybody else confirm is they have this or not?
    Thank you

i believe you are correct budone. the incredible has a similar sensor (actually there are 2 in the inc) right next the the verizon logo and it's the sensor that tells the device when the phone is being held to your ear, or away from it.

  • Ipad 3 anti glare screen protector

I suffer from headaches from my new Ipad 3.
I also suffered with them on my Ipad 1 but used a Media Devil anti glare screen protector and the problem was solved.
I have tried the Media Devil on the Ipad 3 but it does not work very well as the resolution of the Retina screen is increased.
This causes the screen to pixalate.
Can anybody recommend an Anti Glare screen protector that works with the Ipad 3 Retina screen.
I have seen the Mosi AG advertised on line has anybody tried this on the ipad 3 ?
Does it pixalate the screen ?

  • Improvements for s60v5

I believe that hardware of s60v5 is quite powerful but it is not being fully use. The things that I would like to have in s60v5 phones 1 support for apps like nokia social which integrate contacts with social sites. Another softs like bubbles, sleeping screen, augmented reality, etc 2.Improved gallery like photo browser from betalabs 3. Widget home screen: home screen of these phones offers enough functionality but no one would like to have just four shortcuts on big touch screen. More customization of home screen, ability to add widgets and move them.

Wether it is possible or not is somewhat irrelivent , it won't happen, the resources required are simply not practicle for Nokia's plans ! I'm sure there will be support and some improvements offered to S60v5 but the main support (untill it stops in 2014 will be for the current and future Symbian^3 phones. I have the N97 which I expect to remain as it is as the hardware is nor capable of any more performance than it already has, and NO software improvement can increase the size of the C memory. I also have the E7, which with the adequate memory and processing power is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My suggestion would be to get one of the current range and enjoy what's left of Symbian development before it finally gets killed off !
