Bubbles under 4s screen

I put a screen protector on my 4S.  Followed the instructions and attempted to get the air bubbles out from underneath the protector.  Several of the bubbles wouldn't push out, so I took off the protector and discovered they were actually under the glass.  Also the glass seems to be a little "sparkley".  Any advice on if this can be fixed?

All iPhone 4S have full warranty coverage. Make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • Bubble under the screen(original iPhone

I just noticed today that a bubble under the screen has appeared. At first I thought that it was on top of the screen so I try to clean it. My question is I bought it back in Feb 2008, checked the website and it is still under the limited warranty, does the warranty cover this? If so how do I get in contact with Apple to get this fixed?

Should still be covered under warranty. If you're near an Apple Store you can bring it in for repair/exchange. If you're not near one, you can call Apple Care and they'll send you a prepaid container in which to send it.

  • IPhone 2G Bubbles under the screen

I have a 2G iPhone I purchused in January and I have three small spherical bubbles under the screen. I had a screen protector on and recently took it off and I noticed the bubbles. I have heard of people getting replacements but my real question is can I still get a 2G iPhone replacement from an apple store even though they only sell 3G iPhones now?

was this done in store? I am going to the Charlotte Apple store tonight or tomorrow night for this very purpose. thanks.

  • Weird bubbles under the screen.

There are weird bubbles inside the glass of the screen,  it looks almost like a fingerprint on the glue holding the screen onto the glass... would this be somethig that I could get my Macbook Pro Display replaced for?

This seems to be an ongoing issue that we're trying to get Apple to resolve, it seems that some production batches have a bad AR coating that gradually comes off (and it'll get worse), have a look at this thread.  We're trying to get Apple to take notice of this issue

I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM!!!
the only way i can describe it is if you took a mechanical pencil and basically pushed really hard into the screen, except the screen is completely smooth.. i really want this to go away but i dont want to replace my phone.
also, my phone is in perfect physical condition and it has had a silicon case on it since the day i bought it.
if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!!!

  • Bubble under screen

So I have had a bubble under the screen of my launch 2G basically since launch, never gave a second thought about it, that is until I saw on these Apple forums that a huge number of people were getting the same bubble. The iPhone is getting a little old, the 1 year warranty is up. I was wondering, will Apple do anything about it? I am hoping they would because I didn't damage the phone at all, this wasn't my fault, it happened right after I got the phone, and besides the bubble the screen is PERFECT, not even a scratch, still looks new, I baby'd this thing. The only Apple store is fairly far from me, would I be wasting my time taking it there?
    Thanks in advance,
    Harry

    Hi!
I am located in Austria, we have no Apple store around, so I gave apple care a call. Had my iPhone replaced because of this in January (via UPS). They replaced it without a doubt. Now I have some bubbles again under my screen and requested a new replacement again. My warranty is up in 20 days so I'm happy I get a new one.
Hope I don't get them again though, since they are pretty annoying!

I do not think that a scratched screen would be covered under warranty, I'm afraid.
You can ring Apple Customer Support if you like.

  • Bubbles under screen

I received an iPhone from a friend of mine who upgraded to a 3G last week. I noticed that day these two dots on the screen and thought it was due to him not taking care of the device. However, I later saw that the 'dots' are really under the screen and saw that people have had issues with 'bubbles'. I did however check the warranty on this device and it ended Saturday the 18th (roughly 5 days ago). My question here is did the people who got their device replaced for this reason have Apple Care or is this a general replacement that can be done out of warranty? I'm assuming I am out of luck, but everyone who has said "I bought the phone on launch day and just got it replaced" never said if they had a warranty with it or not.
    Thanks!

Not something your friend noticed and if he did notice it, I wonder why he didn't call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store (if there is one nearby) to have this checked and possibly exchanged under warranty.
I don't believe there has been any iPhone recalls that would be considered a general replacement out of warranty, so out of warranty means out of warranty regardless if by a day or by 5 days.

I'm not sure why everyone who has said this would include "replaced under warranty" but just because they didn't include "replaced under warranty" doesn't mean Apple provided a general replacement outside of the warranty or after the warranty expired. More than likely everyone who has said this purchased the AppleCare extended warranty.

  • Water/Air Bubble Under Screen?? :(

I managed to get 2 Touchpads in the firesale in the UK.  One for me that I started using straight away with no issues - I'm very happy with it.
However, I also got one for my wife that I hid away until her birthday this week.  It seems to function exactly as it should, but there is a small bubble of water or air under the screen, near the middle.  You can still see the colours under it and it doesn't appear to be creating problems apart from being annoying because it is alwys there   If you tap the screen anywhere else, it seems to glow briefly.
I am assuming this is a manufacturing defect?  I wondered if you'd recommend just putting up with it, or will HP be able to fix this?  Or is there something I can try to fix it?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

Easier said than done on such a shiney screen   Sorry they're a bit blurry - taken on my iPhone!!
Bit of paper to reflect on, you can see the black blob that is the "bubble".
Then here with the screen on (between Music and Photo/Video):
Then here a bit bigger as I touch the screen:
It isn't too noticable on photo's etc.. but shows up more on the black.

  • Small bubble under touch panel

today i noticed a small bubble under the touch panel on my X6. I never apply a lot of pressure when i use the phone.
It's like a bubble of air under a screen protector, but i don't use one.
    Greece Nokia X6 RM-559 v40.0.002

The X6 has a capacitive screen so applying pressure shouldn't be an issue. Your best option would be to have a care point inspect your device to identify the exact cause.

  • Air bubbles under glass display

    Hello,
this morning I spotted air bubbles under the display and even under the "white space" of my almost new (about one month old) Iphone 4 (16gb).
I think I didn't notice these bubbles because until this morning I kept the original plastic screen on the display.
Now I tried to contact apple support but when I type my serial number here: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/contact/
    it won't show me anything.

I also have the same problem - but on an iphone 3GS. Am assuming the only way air can get in is during manufacture?
Out of warrenty. Anything I can do? Have seen posts saying if you ignore it it gets worse, but don't see why I should have to pay to rectify something that was created during manufacture

  • Dirt/bubbles under glass?

There seems to be dirt or bubbles under the glass of my late 2008 15" MBP. Does my APP warranty cover this sort of thing? How is this sort of thing normally sorted out?
I have no idea how it got there. I was under the impression that the glass was sealed by the rubber on the sides of the screen. Also, it is even possible for the screen or the glass to bubble? I'm not 100% sure if its a bubble, but it seems like it has a bump with a visible surface.
    Hope that makes sense.

I've had the computer for over a year now though. I'm thinking the seal on the screen broke somehow but how can it be a manufacturing defect after 15 months? The dirt wasn't there up until about a week ago. I swear it just popped up out of nowhere. Is it possible for screen flickers to cause bubbling?
Is it possible for the tech to just remove the glass and clean it out/check for bubbling, or will this result in my screen being replaced?
I'm in the Philippines so I don't have access to an Apple store. I'll try to give the APP hotline a call when I get home.

  • Will I get a replacement for dust under the screen?...

    Hey everyone!
I've had an iPhone since the 3G came out and I've never had any problems with dust. My 3G got replaced by 02 insurance about 5 months ago and I got a new 3GS 16GB. Since then I noticed the odd little bit of dust appearing under the screen. Most of the time I couldn't see it so I didn't really care but now I've noticed a few larger pieces and they're really annoying.
I understand that I should get a 12 month warranty with this and surely it's not meant to happen so I'd expect a replacement. I've searched around and I seem to get mixed answers. The problem is that I'm currently working in Cologne and there are only 3 Apple Stores in Germany (I can't believe it!) and the nearest one is still over 100 miles away.
What do you recommend? Would Apple do anything like post one (I doubt it?) or am I going to just have to wait until I'm near Frankfurt (or even back in London) and book an appointment there. Even then... what are my chances of getting a replacement?
Thanks in advance everyone! Much appreciated

I doubt they will give you a replacement. I know here in the States you can take your iphone to an Apple store and they can replace the screen and charge you $200 for that. But I find it hard to believe they would replace the screen for free just because there are dust particles under the glass. That's just my opinion.

  • How can dust get under the screen like this ?

I have a large piece of dust under my screen about an inch up and an inch from either side of the screen.
I use a cover on the rear of my phone, and have a zagg cover for the screen. How on earth can a speck get this far in ? I thought these were pretty much closed units.
Is this something Apple would exchange for ?

A forum search will reveal that several people have reported this and have gotten a replacement.
You can make an appointment at the Genius Bar and they will let you know if they can give a replacement.

The screen shows problems with iCloud only choices are ignore or settings, however nothing I do will unlock it from this screen, cannot power off keeps that bubble on the screen. What do I do?

    Try this now.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
