Buddies not showing in list when logged into single account & logged out of others
BUG
I have multiple iChat accounts (AOL, ME.com, Mac.com, Jabber). When I change the default behavior to log all accounts in at the same time with the same message (basically setting all but one acocunt to "offline") my buddies all disappear. It appears there are now separate buddy lists for each account - but now way to populate those lists from the other accounts (no ability to import/cut-paste).
Often I use my Me.com account for work related issues and only logon to AIM when I am available for distractions/Family/etc. Having to hand enter a large list of potential buddies across mutiple accounts seems unreasonable and was not an issue under previous iChat versions.

There is a way to "Transfer" Buddies Wholesale to a new Buddy list (my best to 292 Buddies)
Option (Preparation)
In the Address Book create Group of those Buddies you want in the new List.
Action (the Deed)
Highlight the Buddies/Contacts that you want to move
If you are not using the Option use the CMD and Click method to highlight many but leave others.
Now Drag the highlighted list to the New Buddy List.
Tidy up by dragging those with Screen Names only from one list to the other.
Re-organzie in to Groups you want/need.
NOTE.
This can be done from AIM Logins names (AIM, @mac.com and MobileMe) to other AIM Login Buddy lists
It can also be done between Jabber and GoogleTalk lists (or Jabber to Jabber as GoogleTalk is a Jabber server)
Although both type of Buddy List can have Screen Names that look like emails - so therefore have the same Format- which causes them to look like they will be Buddies, they will always appear Off line in the New list and you will not be able to Contact them.
Optional Method
Highlight (Using CMN Click if required) the Buddies you want to move and just drag from one list to the other.
Overall note.
When you drag they will be put in the Group that you happen to be hovering over when you let go. (place them in the new list
You may want to Add a new Group first then drag them into the Right groups afterwards (you are likely to have to do the moves anyway)

Xpinsall.enabled does not appear on list when typed into filter
after downloading add-ons and restarting firefox, the add-ons still are not functioning. the tools menu looks as if no add-on is there. the trouble shooting guide had me type in about:config into the search line. and then asked me to type in xpinstall.enabled into the filter, while there are other xpinstall features, xpinstall.enabled does not show up on the list
The xpinsall.enabled pref is a hidden pref in Firefox 4 and is only there if you've created it. If it isn't there then it defaults to enabled. You will get a pop-up asking for permission if the pref is false.
Do you get a message that you need to close and restart Firefox to finish the installation?

PDFs not showing up correctly when brought into the Ipad via dropbox.
They are perfectly fine when viewed in dropbox from my pc but when they are opened in dropbox, good reader or ibooks on the ipad most of the images are missing. The pdf is compatible for viewing with acrobat reader 8.0 and up. Any thoughts?
FOr the "Not Charging", most computers' usb ports does not have the output capability to charge the ipad unless the ipad is sleeping.
For the other issue, you may need to contact a genius, but first, you can try:
1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.
2) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.
If nether fix the problem, you can try a restore from the itunes-computer.

Logging into managed account "logging in..." never logs in
I created a managed account a month ago and tried logging in yesterday. It looked like it may work but just spinned endlessly (I tried several times and even let it go for several minutes). I have to hold down the power key and force shut down. I have tried logging in other ways but it will not access the account.
So I deleted that account and created a new one, but the same thing happens. I get past the password, but after that, just spinning and no logging in.
What's gone wrong?Your profile lists 10.3.9 - the problem may be related to an issue introduced with the 10.3.9 update that caused some (but not all) users with managed accounts to become unable to log in:

In addition to the suggestions in the article, a user at the macosxhints forum found that at least temporary relief may be gained by deleting this file:
/Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices.6B.csstore
Other users have suggested that the problem is due to some sort of a conflict with hp printer software, since the problem in some cases could be eliminated / recreated by uninstalling / reinstalling the software. -
When bookmarking it does not show the list of folders that I have in bookmarks to place new bookmark into. I reset firefox and still have the bookmarks from the bookmark tab, Just bookmarking new ones the folders do not appear to place new bookmarks in, only a few folders show
Click the arrow at the far right (outside) of the Folder field (i.e. not the one in the Folder field) in the "Edit This Bookmark" window to access the complete folder list.<br />
This full folder list also opens if you click the drop marker in the Folder field and click the "Choose..." item.<br />
If folders in the list aren't expanded then look for a possibly faint arrow icon to expand/open the folders.

My photostream in windows 7 PC does not shows any pic. when i click on slide show it start showing me slide shows of pic but when i try to copy files i cant do as no photo is viewd in list mode. This problem has arised since IOS is updated.I reinstalled my icloud and checked if icloud sharing is ON. I can see pic in my photo stream in PC only in slide show mode. Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

when attempting to log into my account on itunes it ask for my password! I put my password in then I get the prompt again asking for my apple password! I put it in again and it still won't take!! What can be going on? I'm trying on my Mac pro !! Everything is up to date on the the latest Itunes version!!
I just asked the same thing and did some research. Some people have said that the UDID code is like banned from instagram, but your account isn't. I'm able to use it on my phone but not on my iPod.

Will the automatic backups backup the entire disk (even other user accounts), when I'm not logged into those accounts?
I want to be assured that my back up is working completely. What if my MacBookPro auto-logs off my account during the backup due to no activity? Or, is the backup considered activity and it won't log off?

Assuming you mean via Time Machine, yup. It backs up your entire system, including all user accounts (unless you specifically exclude things).

I've never tried it, but the backups run as the "root" user, so will probably continue. If they don't, it's not a problem, as the next backup will "catch up" with all changes.

Not really. If you have the Mac set to shut down at a particular time, that will of course interrupt a backup if one is running. But again, the next backup will catch up. -
Onlive TV listing does not show HD listing for series when I try to create a recording
It happened now already several times the the "Online TV Listing" does not show HD listing for series when I try to create a recording. Instead, it will show two series options in SD. Is this to make people use less bandwidth?

This happens not only to this particular channel!
I remember it used to show also the HD channels.
The only way to schedule in HD is to find the listing in the TV schedule, at the right time and there you will get the
correct choices for both SD & HD.
Can this be fixed?

Online buddies not showing as online
A while back my ichat would show online buddies, but could not connect with them. Now, even buddies that I know are online and available show up as offline. How can I fix? I've tried trashing the cache and preferences, and changed the AIM port to 443. nada.
Hi,
If the setting on one or other to the computers does not allow the other she will not show up even when chatting.
If you do not have someone in your Buddy list you can use the File Menu > New chat to start a Text Chat.
To see if the Screen Name is in the Buddy List at all go to the View Menu and select Show Off Line Buddies (If there are not many buddies then Show them as a separate group).
If your Daughter's real name shows up (As they have her in their Address Book) mouse over her name and check the spelling of the Screen Name.
(Use the Apple Key (CMD) and I to alter if required)
IF her scree Name shows up on it's own then checking the Spelling is easy.
Notes:

[email protected] are three Different Buddies and only one will work.
This counts as a Misspelling. The AIM Servers only allow Valid names they don't tell you whether the name exists so it is possible to enter all three of the above in a Buddy List but only one will show as On-line.
As I said before this can be complicated by the Allow and Block setting at either computer.
Allow All is a Better Test.
Second Level Things.
Parental Controls.
IF the Mac User Account on the Buddy has Parental Controls Enabled then they have to Add your Daughter's Screen Name to the iChat Settings as well.
A Complication on this is if you have a test Mac User Account and try iChat there with the regular iChat Screen Name then set Parental Controls.
This first stage blocks All Buddies from All Buddy Lists (entered in iChat).
Buddies are Unblocked as they are Added to the Allow List in Parental Controls.
If you only test with a Few Buddies returning to your Regular Mac User Account and iChat there you will find the Security Settings of iChat have changed to Block Specific People and everyone who was not allowed in the Parental Controls test will be Blocked.
If you find that the Security Settings are set to Allow All and the Buddy is not Blocked and your daughter is not using Parental Controls and has never had her iChat Name used in another Mac User Account (i.e Nothing I have said applies) then try deleting com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist on both Macs and then restart iChat This recreates the .plist as iChat uses Defaults and the Keychain info to Log In again afresh.

When i Log into instagram it say my account is disable but when i log in on another iphone my instagram account log's in. When i try logging into another account on my phone it continue to say disable. i also tried to make a new instagram on my phone but it wont let me. i deleted the app over and over again but it still wont let me log into any instagram account. My Iphone has family emails that appear randomly when I try to update apps or generally have to log into my account. It comes up as my sister in laws address. She was once connected to our account when she got her phone at first. How can I remove? There are only two other email address's associated with my account and hers was never one of them! I do have a cloud set up on my phone. I thought this issue had gone away when I canged my passwords, but I just registered a new phone yesterday and its happening again!

If you are being prompted for your sister-in-law's Apple ID when updating it means that there must be one or more apps on your phone that was purchased using her Apple ID. (When she synced with your computer it may have transferred this app to your library. It was subsequently synced to your phone.) The only way to stop the prompt for her ID is to delete these apps from your phone and your iTunes library and repurchase them using your Apple ID.

Captions Not Showing in List View Though They are There
Ever since I've been using Aperture I've had issues with Captions not showing in List View. The caption is there and shows in the Info Panel but does not show in the List View. I close Aperture, reopen, and it appears in List View. Frustrating when trying to caption thousands of images. You think the image has no caption and when you add a caption it doubles up on what is already there, but could not been seen, and a mess is born. Any one else have this issue? I see it in every Library I create whether on my field laptop or my main desktop Library. Screen shot attached of caption showing in Info pane but not in list view.
Happens all the time. The problem has been there for as long as I can remember, and shows itself in Keywords as well as Captions, maybe others. And yes, it is a major annoyance, and it is a bug IMO. You've found the same workaround I have, namely to restart Aperture.
If you haven't already done so, submit a bug report using Aperture Feedback to add your voice to the list. -

Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

Thanks for the details. All numbers should show up in the message history log, unless you are communicating via iMessage. When texting the numbers that are missing in the message log are you using your normal messaging app on the device or a downloaded app? Have the numbers that are missing been shown in your message log before?
