Buddy not active when they are

I have a long list of Buddies, but two of them always show as offline even when I know they are online. They are both on AIM accounts. I tried deleting them from the buddy list and readding them but they still showed as offline. I then deleted them and had them invite me to chat. That worked to have an active chat, but when I added them to my buddy list from that chat they immediately become inactive in the buddy list. Although the chat they initiated was still active.
Any ideas

Following on with branst's post, I once had a problem like this with an aim buddy's screen name that was correctly typed, just as my screen name was correctly typed on his buddy list. He didn't show up on line to me but I did to him. I couldn't initiate call but he could and I could participate. Something had corrupted something somewhere. Never figured out what it was but we did get it fixed. Here is what we did: One of us had to delete the other from his buddy list, then the other delete the one from his buddy list, so there was a period of time where neither of us was on the other guy's buddy list, then we could readd each other, and all was well. Doesn't make sense to me why that worked, but it did. Maybe it'll work for you.

I keep getting "cookies are not enabled" when they ARE on my Mac, so can't sign in to Facebook

I use Mac OS 10.5.7 and have for a very long time. I was using a slightly older version of Firefox although I update when prompted. Now I am using Firefox 3.6.13 Although working fine for a very long time w/ no problems, suddenly I cannot get signed into Facebook OR Netflix because I get an error message saying my "cookies are not enabled in browser". They ARE enabled, and I've repeatedly emptied the cache, rebooted, quit and restarted Firefox, changed passwords for Facebook. NOTHING gets me in.

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Why do my forwarded links not open when they are recieved

when i try to forward a copied link in my e-mail service- the person
receiving the e-mail cannot open the link-it is not active-i copy from the address bar and then paste to the e-mail i am sending-

Graphical Glitches: Objects appear not selected when they are, Symbols not appearing correctly

I've been having a ton of graphical glitches with Adobe Flash CS6 and I can't for the life of me figure out for the life of me.
Things that happen:
Objects will not appear selected when using the Free Transform Tool.
Symbols don't appar in scene when pasted, or dragged in until I leave the scene or symbol im in. They show up in the preview window though.
Something else I've been noticing is that when I use the Pen tool my computer or speakers or something making this werid noise and it only happens when I'm using the Pen tool.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No one has had these issues? I just got another one. My timeline disappeared, I don't mean the menu hid or thats it not there. It's there its just not actually displaying the Timeline or at least it didn't till I wen't back a few changes for some reason. It was still there though as I could click the eye and lock and the layers (which ones I have no idea) it was all grey. Also again the selection area doesn't show up, all movements of symbols are slow to update their postitions and when I turn on outlines it does nothing.
Also everytime I close Flash I get an error from windows, no idea why.

Contacts are not appearing when they are imported after wipe!!! HELP!

I have a Z1 running 4.4 and so far this is the most annoying bug ever!
This has happened after I tried to do a full wipe on SUS!
It seems that after I import my contacts from my sd card, everything is okay. However, I use an HD Contact app which often requires me to wipe my contacts list a few time just to refresh the photos.
When this wipe happens, my contacts do not anymore appear on my list even though the system says "Contacts added/imported"
My list remains blank except for the "Emergency Number" and "Myself" entries.
My god!
I have tried to run it on Safe Mode, hard restart, reboot, force stop the Contacts app yet nothing seems to work!
The only solution is a full wipe again and again.
This has never happened before the 4.4 update or when I tried to reinstall 4.4 via SUS.
Is anybody having the same dilemma? I could really use some help

Have you checked the filtering option in contacts? Open contact menu button > filter. Perhaps you have a filter hiding the contacts.

Error message says cookies are not enabled when they are...HELP!!!

I've been delaying trying to solve this problem. I have a power mac g4 currently running 10.5.8. After installing this back in august of last year I have been unable to fully go on some sites because I get an error message that says my browser is not configured to accept cookies. Problem is both firefox and safari are enabled to accept cookies. Then when I try to log into yahoo mail the url is refreshing but yahoo mail site is not opening. Now, I have re-installed 10.5, I have reset safari, emptied the cache, deleted cookies and nothing has worked. My computer doesn't have a virus and I'm at my wits end trying to figure this out. I never had these issues prior to installing the new system. I appreciate any help with this problem.

Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

Email links out of Practice Fusion are not active (as they are in IE), which they say is a problem with "something lost in the communication between the Flash engine and the browser". Does anyone have experience with this?

This is a medical records system, cloud based. I use Firefox to get into the system, but any browser would work. Other than this problem, Firefox works fine (better than IE, in my opinion).
Patient demographics include their email, which is hyperlinked and should go right to Outlook (my default email program). This works in IE, but nothing happens on the click when using Firefox as the browser.
I queried Practice Fusion, which replied: In regards to your previous question about the email hyperlink in the patient information, it looks this is not something that can be fixed on our end right now. It is the web browsers' responsibility to handle these types of links, and there seems to be something lost in the communication between the Flash engine and the browser. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Skype emoticons are not showing when they are ight...

Just like the subject says when i try to put a emoticon and not leave at least one space between the emoticon and the text it won't show the emoticon, it will only show the shortcode like: " (kiss)hey" and not the actual emoticon. If i leave space between them the emoticon will show up like usual. If anyone can help me to solve this i will be very thankfull.

Unfortunately, this is how it behaves now on the latest Skype versions (at least on 7.1 and 7.2). With the older Skype 6.21 it was possible to send emoticons and text without separating them by a blank space.

SCEP Definitions Detected In Console as Not Required When They Are

I'm pretty sure I'm probably just overlooking something simple, but I've seen this in two labs I've setup. It appears SCEP definition are showing as not required in the ConfigMgr console, but if I look in WMI on the client (Class: root\Ccm\softwareupdates\updatesstore)
I can see it appears to be detected as missing (which is correct).
Background:
Site Mode: HTTPS, I was using Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 with the same result. I updated the site to SP1 CU1 (Servers and Clients) same thing (For XP, 7, 8, Server 2012).
I've installed KB2828233 on the site server still can get clients to detect "Definition Update for Microsoft Endpoint Protection - KB2461484 (Definition 1.149.286.0)" as applicable on clients in the console. I've installed KB2831316 on the
clients same thing. I'm syncing Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 for the product as i'm pretty sure these are the definition used to SCEP 2012.
I've tried setting the disable alternative sources for endpoint to yes and no (Same result) although this shouldn't have anything to do with being detected.
I'm not sure if any of you may have advice or seen this. All other Windows updates are showing/detecting correctly in the console i'm even publishing third party updates with SCUP that detecteds just fine.
UPDATE 9:28 - So I downloaded and created an available deployment for the definition update. The clients do get the update in Software Center and I can install it successfully, but it's still showing as not required in ConfigMgr Console
even after I install it the update doesn't report back as installed.

I've just setup a new SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 and am seeing the same behaviour.
Updates install just fine, but are shown as Not Required instead of Installed.
Did you get an answer from MSFT on this?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.

Try a hard reset of the Nano. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
I assume you have double checked to make sure you are plugging the headset all the way in meaning the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Nano?
