Budget Modifications is not allowing

Hi Gurus,
              I need your help. When users are trying to modify the budget data through the portal it is not allowing and it is throwing message called
             "The Range you are trying to modify is locked and therefore read-only"
            We dont have any issue till last week.Please advice me what is the issue and solution.

                                   As you said I already created user specific variable exits based on profit center. We already went go alive this last year October. I dont have any problems since from using but from last two weeks . Even we did reforecast the data as well a month back.
                                 I have full access even though it is not allowing. Please advice is there any alternate. Do you think is this problem with service pack, like we updated service packs to 13. We are using BW 3.5.
                                Let me check the Matthias OSS Note no. Matthias your OSS note talks about the BI 7.0 but we are still in BW 3.5.

Private modifier not allowed within Interface

hello,
Can someone explain to me the logic behind not being able to declare a method's modifier as "private" when defining my Interface? When I do so the compiler generates the following error:
"modifer private not allowed here at line 23, column 16"
I change it back to public and its fine. One would think that the compiler would allow one to declare a method private within an Interface so long as the Implementation matches? Thanks in advanced.

The idea behind interfaces is to provide information to the outside world about a class that implements the interface. Specifically, it lets the outside world know about certain methods that can be called on instances of that class. That way, a class can use instances of any class that implements a given interface rather than commiting itself to one specific implementation only.
Since the outside world cannot see private methods, it doesn't make sense for interfaces to prescribe private methods in the first place. In fact, how a class deals with implementing a method is none of the interface's business...

Internal Order not allowing to decrease budget amount

We have to close Internal Order no. 800001526 but system is not allowing to decrease budget amount from Rs. 2606000

Hi Ajeesh,
I happen to go with Manikumar, because in the recent post we see either actuals/commitments Zero only, but when we see at your first screen, there we see total value (either actual/commitment) as 5212000, which is double of your budget i.e. 2606000, that's why there it is giving negative budget value of -2606000 (i.e. 2606000-5212000) which implies your budget has exhausted.
So when you post with 5212000, system hasn't stop you as you might have not had availability control or had tolerance limit for more than 200%.
Please if at all it is testing server, why don't you create one more order and check?

Funds Management BCS error: Combination ENTR / A1 is not allowed in budget

I just applied Budget Control System in Fund Management module. I use FMBBC to enter budget value. I select BCS value type B1, Process ENTR, Type A1 and enter Fund Center/Commitment Item value. Whenever i tried to save, it always show error Combination ENTR / A1 is not allowed for status ADEC, Budget. Same error with any other combination.
I already assigned budget type and process combination in FM area (Budget Control System (BCS) > Budgeting > Basic Settings > Definition of Budget Data > Budget Types > Assign Budget Types to Processes (Mass Maintenance)
What setting did I missed? Thanks

Hi, why don't you just make a navigation banner (bar) with the buttons they should be able to reach? Page group properties is where you decide the default navigation banner. So make a new banner for your users and set it as the default one.

Hi,
Even though CJ35 and CJ38 are both transactions to perform budget returns, it is important to know that they are working slightly different:
a) via txn CJ38 you return money exactly for the WBS elements you indicate an amount for. So if you indicate 1 COP for
   WBS element XX alone, the return is only being carried out for this WBS element. Since this WBS element is
   not (directly) attached to an investment program position, this is not a problem.
b) via txn CJ35, however, as per system design you return money for the WBS element you indicate p l u s for all WBS elements lying on the hierarchical path above, in order to guarantee that the budget remains consistent (= check error free).
   So by indicating 1 COP for WBS element XX, the system also tries to return the same amount from the overlying WBS element YYY.
Since this WBS element, however, i s attached to investment program position of investment program, the system blocks this posting because this program position forsees budget distribution and thus budgeting is allowed via budget distribution o n l y (txn IM52) - see e.g. F1 help for indicator 'Budg.dist. ovrl' in the master of the investment program position.
So basically you can say that txns CJ35 and CJ36 are not suitable for projects attached to investment program positions that forsee budget distribution. Please check your transaction IM52.

This needs to be done through native excel functionality. You can do this using the data validation.

Treo Pro Error Message 530 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed cannot send Email from pop acct

I just purchased the treo pro thru Sprint. I love the phone I just cant seem to figure out the proper settings for my outgoing POP Email acct. Every time I set up the settings properly and attempt to send an email I get an error message "530 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed". I get this message with the outgoing server set to smtp.sprintpcs.com and i receive this error message through an "undeliverable" Email in the same account I am attempting to send from. When I have the account set to my ISP's outgoing server mail.optonline.net it will only send email if I have my device set to WIFI mode..... Any ideas? Thanks.

Internal Order as Investment Measure:
Can you explain me Step 10. Settle the amounts to Main Asset from AuC(Prcg type: Full) - KO88 once again.
How we can give the Receiver Main Asset master in KO88. In KO88 we can only provide the Internal Order. But that Internal Order is already settled to AuC in Step 8.
Please guide me.

Are you doing any settlement using the AUC asset ?
Normal practice is to Create an Auc Asset and settle cost to Auc. Once the asset is ready for use, finally settle the Auc to final asset.
This can be done in two ways like - line item settlement / investment measure.
Below are steps in two scenarios :
Internal Order as Investment Measure:
1. Define the AuC Asset Class (with investment measure) - OAOA
2. Define the Asset Class u2013 for Main Asset - OAOA
3. Define Investment Profile - OITA
a. Assign the AuC Asset Class (Step-1) in the investment profile
4. Assign Investment Profile to Model Order - OITA
5. Define Order Type (Investment) - KOT2
a. Settlement Profile - OKO7
b. Maintain Allocation Structures - OKO6
c. Planning Profile - OKOS
d. Budget Profile - OKOB
6. Create an Internal Order - KO01
a. With the Investment Profile (Step-2)
b. AuC automatically created by the system using Asset Class given in the Investment Profile
7. Post the amounts to IO - FB01
8. Settle the amounts to AuC from IO (Prcg type: Automatic) - KO88
9. Create the Main Asset - AS01
10. Settle the amounts to Main Asset from AuC(Prcg type: Full) - KO88
AuC using Line Item Settlement:

Your message is not very clear - while you have mentioned at what stage are you getting the above-mentioned error message, you haven't mentioned exactly what you were trying to do. The fact that you are getting this error is a straight-forward indication that you are attempting to do something that SAP does expect.
However, answering your query about how to use KO88, you have to settle the AuC to a FA (fixed asset, with asset class other than AuC ), as that will close the open AuC, transfer the value from the AuC to the FA and from this point onwards, all transactions will happen to this FA. Your statement "in KO88, we can only provide the Internal Order" is incorrect.

System settings does not allow changes to be made to object

Hi,
In one of my test system, when i tried to change the object its displaying following error message.
System settings does not allow changes to made to the object.
I have checked the settings in se03, regarding modification objects of software components and namespace those are in state of modifiable for this namespace object.
I would like to know, how to change the object in the namespace.

Hi,
In SE06, in addtion to system status and component status, check the namespace status too.
It would be better if you know the namespace of the object you are trying to modify. Set it to modifiable and retry.
To find namespace, open the object in SE80 and check the attributes. It would show assigned package, namespace, component etc.

"Goods receipt for purch. order" is not allowed (WBS D-GNP-051001-02-1-1)

PO is already released. I used posting period that was in the config 10/2006 9/2006. Then when I tried to Post in MB01 I get this error. How to change the status of object 'WBS D-GNP-051001-02-1-1' to allow the transaction 'Goods receipt for purch. order'?

You have to do budgeting against that WBS.
For this first do the cost planning and copy the cost planning as budget.
then after budget you have to release this budget to use for transaction.
Check whether that particular WBS is indicated as planning element or account assignement element.
It should be account assignment element otherwise it will not allow to raise any PO.
And set the status of WBS as Unblock (UBLK) otherwise it will show tax code missing and status BLK error message.
Comeback for further clarifications.

I want to develop a login frame which does not allow resizing (maximizing, minimizing as this does not make sense) and with 2 fields, JTextField and JPasswordField.
The frame is developed but has the usual resizing handles.

Substitution not allowing using table PRTE

Dear All,
I want to copy the WBS scheduled dates in two user defined date fields in WBS element. For this purpose, I created a substitution where I added the table fields of PRTE table( the scheduled dates for WBS are stored here) using SE16N in table GB01. I completed the substitution now with user fiedls will get updated from scheduled dates.
The problem is that when I am trying to run this substitution, it is giving error that table PRTE can not be used for substitution.
So, in short substitution is not allowing me to use a table which I added manually. Are there any more steps I need to perfom after addition of the table in GB01, or simply SAP do not allow this ?

Substituting PRTE fields should be possible without modification using a substitution exit. But date data (PRTE) is updated by PS scheduling functionality AFTER the substitution was called. That means, if you update PRTE in your substitution and the system decides that a date relevant change was done, it will overwrite your changes, as date relevant coding is processed afterwards.
