Budget Planning for Plant Maintenance

Explain functions for Budget planning through SAP BW-BPS (SAP Business Information
          Warehouse)

SAP has the MCB functionlity for this.
With maintenance cost budgeting (MCB) functionality, SAP offers a product life cycle management cross-application component supplying a solution for planning a maintenance cost budget. A MCB in general is a budget for all costs for maintenance, inspection, and repair of technical assets. In the stricter sense of SAP R/3 software, a MCB is a budget for PM order costs.
MCB provides the following planning scenarios with pre-configured standard entries:
- The history-based scenario is history-based and the budget categories are combined in one overall planning scenario. This scenario can create records with budget categories “preventive”, “planned” or “unplanned.”
- The ad-hoc (hist) scenario
- The maintenance plan scenario is zero-based and can only create records with budget use “preventive.”
- The task list scenario is zero-based and can only create records with budget use “planned.”
- The ad-hoc (plan) scenario is zero-based and can create records with budget categories “planned” or “unplanned.”
The benefits of an appropriate budgeting tool include:
- Tool to drive down maintenance costs
- Better data integrity than spreadsheet-based budgeting
- Access to your plan data from everywhere with a user-friendly front end (Web interfaces)
- Ability to reflect changes in near future
- Flexible and accurate reporting
- Integration with other enterprise systems
- Data extracted automatically from back-end system
- Reduction of the budget preparation time
- Continuous planning with standardized, automated budget processes
- Better transparency of the budget planning process
- Support of planning as a company-wide effort, with a great number of managers and employees contributing
- Not just a tool but analytical applications

    Hi,
Material Master will be maintained by MM people. For Spare parts, material type would be ERSA. Maintain the MRP type for Reorder Point Planning in MRP1 view of Material Master & Reorder Point Qty in MRP1 view.
While running MRP, spare parts also will be planned.

  • Settings for costing data in order types for plant maintenance

i want to know the purpose of settings for costing data in order types for plant maintenance. do we need to do it for sure i mean are those settings mandatory to analyze the costs on work order

Yes you need to maintain those settings, as the plant maintenance orders are also considered as cost objects and in order for you to post any cost, you need to have a cost object.  Unless you maintain these settings, the cost you posted cannot be settled to a cost center.
Assign points as a way to say thanks.

  • Origin Object Type for Plant Maintenance Orders in Profit Center Accounting

    Hi,
I want to make a selection for plant maintenance orders in transaction KE5Z, report for line items in Profit Center Accounting. When checking possible input options for the selection field <b></b>Origing Object Type<b></b> the system shows value 15 for Maintenance Orders. However I discovered in our system the maintenance orders are reported as Origing Object Type 03, which is Overhead Orders according to the selection list. So I cannot distinguish between overhead orders and maintenance orders in this report.
What is the cause our maintenance orders are assigned to Origin Object Type 03 in stead of 15 and what is the customizing transaction to correct this ?

Looks like, this is no longer supported. Refer to note 168004 and  102434.
    Cause and prerequisites
These functions were not programmed to meet the above requirements.
As of Release 4.0, the object type is transferred directly.
    Solution
Once you have implemented the advance correction. the origin object type 'Overhead cost order' (03) is assigned irrespective of what is the SCOPE for orders.
As a result of implementing this note or as of Release 4.6B, the order category distinguishes between overhead cost orders and production orders in the origin object type. In this case, the following origin object types result (as described above in 1.):
    Order category 04 to 10, 40 => 04 (production order)
All other order categories => 03 (overhead cost order)
The logic that the origin object type was set depending on the object class (as described above in 2.) is no longer supported. The object class can be evaluated separately in Reporting. -
The corrections of this note refer in Release 4.0B to the corrections from Note 102434.

  • Catalog Interface (OCI) -  Customizing for Plant Maintenance order  ERP2005

    Hello Experts,
we want to use the integration between SRM and ERP2005. In the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5d/0eba5fa0084247acbb0c04cede18e8/frameset.htm">sap documentation</a>sap documentation I found the following:
'In the Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service or in the Customizing for Project Systems, you entered the required data about the catalog that you want to connect to the SAP R/3 system. You can find the corresponding IMG activities under Interface for Procurement Using External Catalogs (OCI).'
However I can`t find this IMG activities in our ERP2005 system.
    What`s wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi! Additional we had to generate the img new.
Unfortunaetly I haven`t a idee how does this work. (Our sap basis did this.)
Through the assign from catalog to order type, I think it nessary to use the pm-img-activities...

  • CATS for plant maintenance

    Hi Guys,
    I need your advice:-
We are on ECC 6 environment, the time system is running on 3rd party and payroll is on r/3, now the management decided to Implement CATS for plant maintenance (Activity based cost). So let me know is there is a feasibility to do so. If so, Please advice, your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Babu

What type of time evaluation do you do ? PM
CATS are very much feasible with PS and activity types and you can transfer costs against activities, orders, networking elements and WBS elements. --Understandable
You said Time is captured by third party, which sub system is this? Legacy
CATS doesn't have any relation with 3rd party, ---Understandable. My? Can we make two process same time. Legacy and CATS ( My concern is about IT007 and Work schedule)
CATS users are different from swipe card users: Understandable
it depends on your design and requirement to comment on the feasibility at your end.
but on a general scale , CATS is feasible in transferring activity based cost and post it into FI and CO: Understandable
    Requirement:
Need to implement CATS, to get work order, Time, and Employee name etc.
My question is where in SAP I can store the data enter through CATS, If I use IT0007, I may redundant the data at HR side which is using 3rd party data to run payroll, or using 2001, 2002 and 2005.
So,  How can I use CATS Independently. Please advice. Thanks

    Bhuvana

    Hi,
This is the mail which i got from Client.
We have a prospect wanting to see a proof of concept (and pay for it) of SAP -GIS integration using web services. No specific requirement. Fetch a bunch of work orders from SAP using web service and display on a map - can be the POC.
Please review the attached doc. Figure out whether any standard web service is available, if not a BAPI can be converted to web service quickly.
Attchment contains Utilizing State oriented Communications
for Web Services based on BAPI With Microsoft Visual Studio
2005.U can check it in Google with the same name.
They just asked about is there any Standard web services available for Plant maintenance.

  • Are there any third party pacakages for plant maintenance that can be interfaced with

are there any third party plant maintenance packages that interface with OPM? does Oracle apps have a module for plant maintenance?

I'm working for a leading Food Industry in Kuwait (The Kuwaiti Danish Dairy Co.) We have a massive implementation of OPM with 24 modules, BI tools (OSA, OFA) and Maximo (The only third party package) integrated with Oracle. OPM version is 11.0.3 on database 8.0.5. Now you have option of 11i (eAM) with POC (PM) or Maximo 5i integrated with 11i (and of course any other 3rd party solution which can be integrated with OPM).
You can write to me on: [email protected] or call me on: +965-9650172 for details.
    All the best.

  • Standard PDF forms for plant maintenance

    Hi all,
Does anyone know standard PDF  forms for plant maintenance?
    Assaf

As standard there is no option to save workshop papers in PDF format.
However, have a look at [OSS Note 208271|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=208271] (Sending e-mail from notification print control) which works for orders too.
You can also misuse the SAPScript program to call a SmartForm
