Budget Scenarios

The customer database has 7year history imported. Now they want to import Budget for the last 3 years to be able to pull everything out of SAP. How do I get all the Fiscal years listed on Budget Scenarios. Right now it only shows 2000 and 2009?? not even 2010, what is missing.... Thanks

Hi,
What version you use. Seems it's just another system limitation. I've tried it on my 2007A SP01 just working fine. Perhaps you should consider moving to newer version, 8.8 would be just perfect.
Cheers

  • Budget Scenarios - multiple columns

    Hi,
    i have a question and I hope you can help me.
    John-Michael Davis already helped me but what he told me did not help me much unfortunately, because what he told me, was done:
    "I suspect that you have enabled cost accounting in one database and not the other. You can enable cost accounting from system initialization -> Settings -> Cost Accounting Tab."
    I have two databases in different environments. In one, the budget can appear in multiple columns but another can not. In this issue, just put the sequence of steps do i try to put the columns of the Cost Accounting.
    What am I doing wrong?
    I'll explain through pictures, because it's more simple for me to explain.
    This image (from another database), appears the extra columns:
    The sequence that I do to appear the columns:
    General Settings - Cost Account using 2 dimensions:
    General Settings - Budget defined:
    Chart of Accounts -> G/L Accounts master data extension check box
    2 Cost Centers for different Dimensions:
    Distribution Rules of the 2 Cost Centers:
    The distribution rules associate at the Dimension "Areas" that correspond at the first Dimension don't present Stelle_z -> Centro Geral?
    Table of Cost Centers and Distribution Rules for the two Dimensions
    Cost Center Hierarchy for two Dimensions
    A Small example of Reports:
    Cost Center Report
    Distribution Report
    Cost Accounting Summary Report
    Budget versus Cost Accounting
    Budget Scenarios - Setup
    Budget Scenarios – Setup – > In this it's missing field "Dimension" and "Cost Accounting Columns", so this not possible across other distribution rules (cost center)
    Thanks,
    Luís Pontes

    Hi,
    Maybe this post is very confusing, so i will summarize:
    in my budget, i want to have the option of Cost Accounting, but I cannot.
    I already activated the option Use Multidimensions but I still do not see the columns.
    Does anyone know what should I do?
    Or is it a mistake SAP?
    Thanks,

  • SAP Business One Budget Scenarios 2007A

    Hello,
    I have B1 2007A SP00 PL37 installed.  I am trying to add a Budget Scenario.  I click on Financials --> Budget Setup --> Budget Scenarios.  A screen pops up titled "Budget Scenarios -- Setup".  It has a beginning fiscal year in the drop-down list, and the table below is empty.  No matter what I do, it will not let me enter anything into that table.  If I try to Copy Scenario, a new window pops up, showing "Original Data" and "Destination Data".  The Destination Scenario drop-down offers a "Define New" option.  When I click "Define New", it takes me back to the "Budget Scenarios -- Setup" window.  So that is where I am stuck.
    Can anyone assist me in this circular adventure?  Once we get past this situation, I have another Profit and Loss Budget Report question.
    Thanks.

    Thank you, Marcia.  That was perfect.  Should I ask my 2nd question here?  Well, here goes.  I upgraded my system from 2004A to 2007A in May.  I am now completing the financial close for May, but we are now in July (new fiscal year).  When I run the Profit and Loss Budget Report, I do not see any Budget Scenarios in the pull-down list, therefore I do not have any budget numbers in the report.  Any idea on why there would be no scenarios shown in the pull-down?  Was there a problem converting the scenarios during the upgrade to 2007A?
    Thanks,
    Ted

  • Budget Scenarios - Actual Value

    Good Morning,
    When I setup values in the budget scenarios for expense or cost accounts I have incorrect values in the "Actual" column. The system doesn't update the real (actual) values correctly. I'm with SAP B1 2007 PL42.
    The problem is that, when I choose "yes" when the system displays following message: "Account XXXXX has transactions in the systems. Do you want to restore the account's accumulators?", the system does not update correctly the current G/L accounts bookkeeping balance to the Actual column...
    Do you know the reason or what can I do to solve this?
    Thank you.
    Susana Cunha

    Hi,
    To get the Actual Column corrected, the whole row has to be deleted of the G/L Account with the wrong Budget and then the Budget has to be determined again for this G/L Account. This way after pressing the yes or yes to all at pop-up window questions;
    'Transactions found in the system for account XXX. Would you like to restore accumulators for this account?'
    Also please check the following
    Please check out the document on the Knowledge Base which covers your
    question. Go to:
    https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/smb/sbo/documentation ->
    Select 2004 and -> How-To Guides 2004 A & 2004.2 B ->
    Budget in Release 2004 A
    The section titled 'Defining Budget after the Commencement of
    Activity' (page 12 of 18) explains the message  "Restore Account
    Accumulator". I have copied the section below:
    Defining Budget after the Commencement of Activity:
    You can define a budget for accounts against which operations have been
    performed.
    These operations are: bookkeeping operations, as well as open purchase
    orders and open purchase delivery notes.
    After entering an amount, and clicking Update, the following message is
    displayed: "Transactions found in the system for account XXX. Would you
    like to restore accumulators for this account?
    -Selecting "Yes" or "Yes to All" restores the accumulator for the
    afore-mentioned account on the basis of the transactions and open
    documents found in the system. The result is inserted in the Actual and
    Future columns.
    -Selecting "No" or "No to All" leaves the Actual and Future columns
    empty.
    If you select "No" or "No to all", transactions created after the budget
    was defined will also not appear in the columns representing the
    balances. However, the budget reports will always show the cumulative
    balance since the beginning of the year.

  • Budget Scenarios - Setup

    Good Morning,
    - When I setup values in the budget scenarios for expense or cost accounts I have incorrect values in the "Actual" column. The system doesn't update the real (actual) values correctly. I'm with SAP B1 2007 PL42. What could be the reason?
    - I have other doubt related to this: What means the column "Actual - Future" in the budget scenarios - setup window?
    Thank you.

    Hi Sridharan,
    Thank you for your answer.
    The problem is that, when I choose "yes" when the system displays following message: "Account XXXXX has transactions in the systems. Do you want to restore the account's accumulators?" (page 18), the system does not update correctly the current G/L accounts bookkeeping balance to the Actual column...

  • How to set up Approval or Alter for Budget amount.

    Hi,
    We need to set Approval based on monthly Budget amount wise
    ex: We set up budget amount Total year is 60000 based on GL Account (Service Charges)wise in Budget scenario set up per month is i.e., April 5000
    May = 5000
    June = 5000
    July = 5000
    Aug = 5000
    Sep= 5000
    Oct = 5000
    Nov = 5000
    Dec = 5000
    Jan = 5000
    Feb = 5000
    Mar = 5000. when user is adding more than 5000 for the month April though this service charges general ledger account in AP Invoice or Manual Journal entries or Out going payment we need to give alter like you need get approval, after getting approval only he need add these documents. Here we have taken example he got approval for 6000 for the month April. next month he may added 2000 through service charges acct here remaining 3000 we need to carry forward to next month and we need to show in alter when he using service charges general ledger account available budget balance for June is 8000 but here also if he using more than 5000 for the June month same Approval we need to show like You need to get approval. How we can set up for this? This is my query below
    SELECT T0.BudgId, T0.Line_ID, T0.DebLTotal, T0.DebSTotal, T0.DebRLTotal, T0.FtrIDRSSum, T0.FtrODRLSum, T0.FtrODRSSum, T0.MonthPrcnt, T0.AcctCode FROM BGT1 T0 WHERE T0.DebLTotal >5000 and T0.Acctcode=4110101001 this query I added in terms under Approval template set up for AP Invoice but when am adding Ap invoice through Service charges GL account itu2019s not showing approval message. Please guide me how to solve this?
    And Case 2. I tried though SP also to block if Budget amount exceed in AP and Manual Je but it's not blocking documents. Below SP
    Begin
    set @check1 = ((select inv1.linetotal from bgt1
    cross join  inv1
    WHERE  bgt1.acctcode=inv1.acctcode and inv1.Docentry=@list_of_cols_val_tab_del))

    cross join  inv1
    WHERE  bgt1.acctcode=inv1.acctcode and inv1.Docentry=@list_of_cols_val_tab_del))

    begin
    SET @error = 10
    SET @error_message = N'You Need take Approval from Finance Head, please forward mail to FH....'
    end
    end
    Please guide how to setup Alters or Approval or SP for these requirements.

  • Budget in SAP 2007B (Urgent)

    Hi All,
    How to create Revised budget in SAP 2007B. Is Budget scenario is Revised budget? If yes, how do we set revised budget as default...
    This is bit urgent
    Thnz in advance
    Shashi

    Hi Shashi
    In SAP Business One the Main Budget Scenario is used for budget restrictions, etc. It is the first and only one you HAVE to create. Other scenarios are then for "what if" usage, etc. You can create as many scenarios as you want and select the various scenarios in your budget report.
    From your question I am assuming that the Main Budget (for example) has been populated and you want to revise this budget. The choice would be to keep the Main budget intact and add another scenario called Revised. But remember that if budget checking is turned on, it will only check against Main Budget. For this reason, any changes should be made direct to the Main Budget if they are to impact budget checking.
    Hope this all makes sense, if not let me know
    Kind regards
    Peter Juby

  • Main budget missing

    Hi everyone,
    I am working with the budget scenarios and I realized that I dont have any main budget scenario for this year (2014). I checked in the OBGS Table and the last year where I have a main budget defined is 2012. I would like to know how can I create a main budget for 2014.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Budget Cycle Approval

    Hi Everyone,
    i have a problem in maintaining planning unit hierarchy, (By the way am working on hyperion planning Version 11.1.2.2)
    here is my situation,
    i have 2 users who will use the same entity while budgeting there forms in budget scenario, and from what i know that if you promote an entity to another user it will be closed on the whole application for all the users in that scenario and none can enter data in it anymore
    is there any way to to specfic that entity on the form level or on the user level
    like if a "user A" promote "entity A" in budget scenario it will be closed for him but not "user B". or is this situation not possible on hyperion planning yet
    i hope my situation is cleared.
    thank you

    In Planning 11.1.2 version, you can set up approval path with
    Scenario, Version, Entity and one secondary dimension.
    In your case, I suggest you turn on the secondary dimension with Account.
    And group your account members to 2 "folders" (parents)
    i.e. assets forms contain assest relative members under "A01" and liabilities forms contain liability relative members under "A02";
    then in approval, your Account dimension can selected "A01" and "A02" as your planning units.
    You can submit them separately.
    Hope this solves your problem.

  • Issue in Budget posting

    Dear Friends
    I am using SAP Business One 2005A (SP01 and PL 39).
    I had defined next fiscal year in B1 and trying to post budget using DI API. For the current fiscal year its creating perfectly but when i am trying to create budget for the next fiscal year its creating only budget scenario not complete budget even its not giving any error.
    When i looked into database table i found that its inserting budget lines with current fiscal year. Its should take year from budget scenario.
    Please help me how to resolve this problem.

    Hello Ravikiran
    Since your request is rather sparse on details I can give only a rather broad answer.
    You say that calling the BAPI with the same input data (all periods have zero amount) works in one client but not the others. Now I see two possible reasons for that:
    (1) The message (probably FMKU 015) is a quite FI-specific message. Therefore, I assume that the FI-Customizing for "Grants budgets" differs on the two client.
    (2) If the client are on different SAP systems I can imagine that you have user-exits active on one system but not the other (the BAPI contains the BAdI exit 'BAPI_0036').

  • Change Scenario Attribute

    I want to change Default View for the Budget Scenario from MTD to YTD. But when I change it, the "PhasedSubStartYear" always show up a "0" and I cannot load the updated metadata.
    Just a side note, we have not use the process management yet so the "Phasedsubstartyear" should be blank and they are blank for all other scenarios.
    Is anyone know what could be the issue?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    Try this logic in PBO...
    LOOP AT SCREEN.
    if ok_code = 'CREATE'.
    IF screen-name = 'EDIT'  or  screen-name = 'DISPLAY' .
    screen-input = '0'.
    MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDIF.
    elseif ok_code = 'EDIT'.
    IF screen-name = 'CREATE'.
    screen-input = '0'.
    MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDIF.
    endif.
    ENDLOOP.
    Thanks,

    hai,
    KPZ2 is cost center budget here you can give the budget value based on cost center. KP06 is planned value, here you can give cost center wise and GL wise.

  • Budgets based on Regions - workaround

    Hi
    I have read a few questions on the forum with regards to Budgets and Profit Centers etc, we pretty much have the same scenario where the company will have regions and will need to base Budgets off these regions, I have gone through and added Budget Scenarios per Region (which is setup as a Project in SBO).
    Is this viable or attainable?
    They will do postings where they will have to select a project so we can record the correct costs or revenues for this region but my question basically is "will this be possible with so many Budget Scenarios with the same GL Accounts" my feeling = not but if someone can point me in a workaround this will be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Kurt Walters

    Hi Kurt Walters,
    Your feeling is correct.  The whole idea to use one company for different legal entities may not work at all.  Only if they are really only branches that do not need separate statement, it is ok.  In this case as the budget, you have to set up all different accounts for individual account budgets.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
