MY CLIENT IS A PRIVATE ORGANISATION, BUT THEY HAVE FUNCTIONS OF BUDGETING.
WE ARE USING MYSAP2005 WITH ENHANCEMANCE PACK 4 .
THEY HAVE CONTROL OF BUDGET AT THE TIME OF PROCUREMENTS AND EXPENSES.
THEY HAVE PURCHASE BUDGET , EXPENDITURE BUDGET AND CAPITAL BUDGET.
BEFORE STARTING ANY PROCUREMENT PROCESS BUDGET IS CHECK AND DRAFT PROPOSAL IS PASSED THEN ONLY RFQ,QUOTAION,PURCHASE ORDER PROCESS START.
DEPEND ON THE VALUE AND TYPE OF PROCUREMENT DIFFERENT LEVELS ARE SET WHO WILL CHECK THESE DRAFT PROPOSAL.
PURCHASE , EXPENDITURE BUDGET IS FOR A YEAR ONLY.
I NEED TO MAP THIS IN SAP.
I HAD SEEN UNDER FUND MANAGEMENT WE HAVE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF BUDETING.
I TRY TO CONFIGURE THE BUDGETING SETTING ALONG WITH FUND MANAGEMENT SETTING.
BUT I COME ACROSS A ISSUE WHICH IS
AS NEW GL IS ACTIVATED AND DOCUMENT SPLITTING IS ALSO USED FOR PROFIT CENTER, WHEN I SUPPOSE TO POST THE PAYMENT IN THE SYSTEM THE SYSTEM GIVES ME ERROR THAT DOCUMENT SPLITTING IS REQUIRED FOR COMMITMENT AND FUND CENTER ALSO.
I AM UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS SO .
AS I DIDNT WANT TO SPLIT MY DOCUMENT ON BASIS OF COMMITMENT ITEM AND FUND CENTER.
CAN ANY GIVE MORE THOUGH AND SOLUTION ON THIS.

That problem isn't related to Private Browsing specifically, that's how Firefox works with regards to multiple "sessions" with the same server - only one logon is allowed at any time. Try using one of these extensions to be able to run multiple session cookies.

Use of Funds management module is more for Public sector . Everything will be earmarked and it is not allowed to cross the earmarked funds(basically budget figures)
Private sector concentrates more on profitablity and is flexible

Budget organisation have been deleted

Hi,
I love your forum, helped me a lot.
I have a question, one of my co-workers have deleted the organisation in General ledger budget organisation.
General Leger ---> Budgets : Define ----> Organization
He went there and deleted the organisation accidentally, now we cannot retrieve the data's that were put earlier.
Can anyone help us to get the organisations datas back.. we have tried this step,
After deleting the budget organization, you can reassign the accounts from the deleted budget organization to another budget organization.
but don't know how to retrieve data's from old organization.
please help,

PO being posted without budget check

In our organisation, Funds Management has been activated from the year 2007 onwards. Budget check has been defined at the time of creation of PR else if a PO is created without the PR then the budget checks at PO level.
The fund center is defaulted from the cost center entered as the cost center is mapped 1:1 with the fund center. The comittment item is also defaulted from the GL entered.
BUt for the fund center and comittment item combination no budget has been defined for the current year 2009. Yet the PO and GR is happening without the budget check.
This is happening only from the last month. But no configuration change has taken place. What cud be the possible reason?? Currently we are on ECC6 version.
Kindly help.

Availability control has been activated for the current year 2009 also.
Yet there is no check for budgets at either PR or PO level. But for a financial transaction thru F-02 it checks for the budget for the same Fund center and Commitment item combination.
IS there some other check too??

ex: We set up budget amount Total year is 60000 based on GL Account (Service Charges)wise in Budget scenario set up per month is i.e., April 5000

Mar = 5000. when user is adding more than 5000 for the month April though this service charges general ledger account in AP Invoice or Manual Journal entries or Out going payment we need to give alter like you need get approval, after getting approval only he need add these documents. Here we have taken example he got approval for 6000 for the month April. next month he may added 2000 through service charges acct here remaining 3000 we need to carry forward to next month and we need to show in alter when he using service charges general ledger account available budget balance for June is 8000 but here also if he using more than 5000 for the June month same Approval we need to show like You need to get approval. How we can set up for this? This is my query below

How to make the datagrid data organised

Using Media Manager to 'Make Offline' it re-names media files to 'Private'

For some reason Media Manager is changing the name of media files when processing them making it impossible to reconnect them.
My director always has a complete copy of our film's media files on his 'home set-up' (FCP 5.0 on a Powerbook with 2 x 500gb firewire drives) so he can look at our cuts at home. This has caused problems in the past with firewire drives expiring or failing to mount: making the whole process pointless. Also, as the amount of footage increased, he struggled to find space for the 6-8 drives required.
My solution was to down-convert our DV resolution media files to Photo-Jpeg resolution which allowed me to fit 3TB of footage onto 2 brand new G-Tech drives. Every time I sent him a cut to view all I had to do was use media manager to make the sequence offline and convert it to exactly the same Photo-Jpeg setting I used to export the files. All he has to do is reconnect the sequence to his drives at his end.
A wonderful plan except when you came to reconnecting. I found that 95% of clips connect perfectly and then you get asked for the location of some media files called 'Trashes' 'Applications' or more commonly, 'Private'. Obviously no such files existed - I use an impeccably organised and structured filename system when capturing. Therefore it made random clips in my sequence impossible to reconnect once it had been converted to the settings used by the director.
When this only happened once or twice I thought I could easily just work out what files it was actually looking for by the clip names on the timeline and tell FCP to reconnect to the correct file by ignoring the file name but this is so time consuming and impractical when you have 20/30 clips that have been renamed on a sequence. It is also not the sort of thing my director is technically capable/willing to do.
It also seems to be happening when you convert things in the other direction. When I took a sequence from the director's project and brought it back onto my system by converting his sequence to my DV-PAL settings we got the same problems with 'Private and 'Applications' clips. And we know for sure that all of these clips were online on his computer.
Has anyone seen this before or know any steps I could take to prevent it happening.
I fear that if I can't get this method to work I will have to give him full resolution media to work with and I will be fated to spend the rest of my days replacing. smashing or swearing at firewire drives that only work when they feel like it.
Anybody got any ideas.

haven't tried this but it may be worth some investigation.
try exporting an XML of your sequence and passing that to the director
on the director's FCP setup, import the xml, and in the Import XML... window uncheck the "Override with setting from XML" checkbox, and choose the approriate offline res that matches the directors media.
see if the resulting sequence will reconnect

Use of .private as FQDN for SLS in split DNS configuration

I am setting up a new SLS and just wanted to reach out to see if anyone has had any negative experiences using a domain.private for a FQDN for the server and enabling mail service with mail.domain.com.
We will be publicly hosting domain.com on a completely different server.
I have the SLS server set up this way right now. We are in testing but not yet in production. It was set up that way based on discussion with a couple of Apple reps.
We do not plan to use any of the SLS services publicly, with the exception of Mail. All of the other services will be accessed locally on the network or through remote VPN connection to the SLS.
Server is working properly thus far with public static IP sitting on an Airport Extreme and private IP of the server NATted behind the Airport Extreme.
A record, MX record, SPF record, and PTR record have been properly set up the respective ports opened on the Airport Extreme. So mail is coming in and out properly.

I prefer to use a registered domain name, or a subdomain of a registered domain name, even if it's not externally accessible. That absolutely prevents domain collisions, and it means if (when?) you go public, you don't have to re-address everything. It's insurance at the cost of a couple of trips to the coffee shop a year...
If I'm going to make something up that I don't have registered (eg: .private) (and I don't prefer to do that), I prefer to make something up that will be extremely unlikely to ever be used. (eg: .local got used for zeroconf, and has subsequently been causing some "fun" for folks that squatted on it.)
IANA has been adding TLDs and that practice will undoubtedly continue, and they're in the process of opening it up to most anybody that wants to run their own TLD. (eg: .travel, .cat, and I expect there'll be a whole pile of new ones arriving as TLDs turn into "vanity" TLDs; as each company with a big enough budget to rent or run their own big DNS servers gets their own TLDs.)
Your configuration will require you to run your mail through NAT, or set up a split-horizon (you're not really running split-horizon yet) for your internal IP address translations or (probably the way you're going to do this right now) via an authorized relay and your external mail provider.
I've set stuff up using all of these. It works.
And though you don't mention it, get out of 192.168.0.0/16, or at least out out of the most common subnets in that IP address block. Using the block or particularly the common subnets in the block messes up VPN routing if (when) you get to wanting (needing) that. Best to start out in 172.16.0.0/12 or 10.0.0.0/8, as most home networks and most coffee shops are in 192.168.0.0/16 and most are in the same subnets within that block, and that precludes VPN routing.
The Airport and Time Capsule devices are good home routers, but comparatively weak server routers. Budget for a replacement firewall, particularly as you start using features. You'll likely then repurpose the Airport or Time Capsules as access points (APs), or what Apple calls "bridging", when you replace them with a server-grade firewall. (Requirements here can differ, but can include a VPN server within the firewall, DMZ, RADIUS authentication, or port forwarding requirements past the (very limited) capabilities of the Airport and TC boxes...)

Steps to create a budget Journals

Am sure am missing a couple of steps along the way.

Also what and why combination accounts so important?<My friend, if you don't know the anwer to this question you are really in trouble. Almoust all Oracle General Ledger functions have to do with account combinations. Journals, balances, budgets, etc. are stored in the database with a reference to the CCID (code combination id).
But let's see your problem again.
Please check again in Accounts/Combinations if the combination exists and if the flag Enabled, Allow Budgeting and Allow Posting are all enabled. Then check each one of the segment values to see if they are enabled and none of them has an end date on it. Also check if each segment has the 'Allow Budgeting" field set to 'Yes'.

Best way to set up a private cloud for family

I wish to set up my private cloud. Is there any Apple device that will help me do so? If not, which are the devices that will be most compatible with Mac, iPhone and an iPad?
I don't have a server as yet. I am looking for an Apple device that can act as a storage for all kinds of files for every member in my family.
Will I be able to access my files from anywhere once secure my files in Mac server? If yes, can someone please explain the detailed procedure to do so?

In isolation, the term "Cloud" is effectively meaningless; it's largely become a marketing term designed to try to open up wallets in an effort toward the proper vacuuming of available funds. It started out as what used to be timesharing or hosted services, or client server. The "private" version is now typically used for devices or servers you own. Better than these terms, you'll need to decide what services you want now, and what services you might grow into — and whether you want to provide gear for the immediate needs, or gear that's more capable and that you can grow into. Storage is obvious. Probably VPN services. Web (and possibly WebDAV) with a Wiki or a content management system, and potentially your own mail server and calendar (CalDAV) server. Once you have sorted out what you want to do and what you want to grow into (and implicitly also the budget involved here), then we'll have a better idea of what sort of "cloud" you need.
If you want to share storage via CIFS/SMB or AFP, then OS X (client) can do that now. No need for OS X Server, or some other server. For AFP, Time Capsule can provide local storage. Further along, OS X Server, which can deal with sharing storage, as well as DNS and distributed authentication. (Recent versions of OS X Server have had some issues with the VPN server, but Apple has released some patches that have supposedly addressed that.)
Or you can use Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices from various vendors. This would be similar to the Time Capsule, though many of the available devices are more capable and more capacious. Synology makes some of the higher-end gear in the home range, and there are many other vendors of NAS devices.
When working with multiple users where privacy is a concern, the necessity for authentication and access controls can arise with traditional file shares, though these simple shares will work for smaller configurations. In a larger system, you'll want to have the access tied into the identity of the accessor, rather than having everybody configured with passwords all over the place — those passwords don't tend to get changed or require the user to log in and change it across multiple devices, and security tends to go downhill from there. You might or might not be small enough here to not have these requirements; where you can either have passwords on multiple devices, or can share passwords — but that's something to ponder.
Remote access requires a network connection and probably involving a VPN security — an encrypted network connection — into a gateway firewall device with an embedded VPN server, or using NAT VPN passthrough into some other local VPN server you've installed and configured, and it requires an ISP connection that allows that remote access. For simple access and where your ISP allows in-bound VPNs, dynamic DNS (to get from name to IP address) and a VPN server in your gateway device or in some other box inside your network — with NAT VPN passthrough enabled on your gateway device — will work. For a bigger group or when more advanced features or typical use of a small business or such, you'd typically want static IP, as you'd typically be looking to add mail services and some other features. (This also means you'll want a reasonably fast and reliable remote network link from your ISP, obviously.)
iOS doesn't particularly do file sharing (not without add-on tools, and many apps are not set up for accessing file shares in any case), so you'll have to look at what the particular apps you're using do support. Once you know what those support, that'll help determine what can be shared there, and how.
If you wanted to go gonzo, there are commercial and open-source cloud implementations, but that's going to involve managing a server, and the cloud software.
Dropbox and Spideroak and other such are common choices for sharing files using hosted services, and Mac Mini Colo offers OS X-based cloud capabilities if you'd prefer to use a hosted OS X system. This if you don't want to acquire and configure and manage and maintain the gear and the network access.

Abstract Classes vs Private Constructor

Hopefully this doesn't make me sound to naive
If we have a super class called food, and subclasses chocolate, chicken, cereal and so on then its clear we dont want to make instances of the super class food correct? So we can make this class an abstract class
What are the benefits of making a class abstract over making a constructor private and in what circumstance would it be beneficial to do one over the other?

I'm no OO guru... what I do know is that you can make some very nasty mistakes, thanks to experience of maintaining a fairly poorly written (first in the organisation) large java project.
I'm of the opinion that interface should define an aspect of behaviour... If the Sun GODS had there time again they'd do java.io would be full of interfaces... Closeable, Openable, Readable, Writable, Printable... etc etc etc.
Please remember that a class (or group of classes) can implement multiple interfaces... and an interface can extend multiple interfaces... So java supports "multiple type inheritance" as apposed to C++'s "multiple implementation inheritance".
If you need an "aglomerate" interface as the type for a collection then assemble one from your premade "set of aspects"... eg: Input extends Openable, Closeable, Readable...

After quitting a "private browsing" session, and I quit togo back to previously open tabs/pinned sites, 40% of the time, the Browser does not restore all previously open tabs/pinned apps/sites

Using HP Pavilion Dv7 with Windows Home Premium, 64bit, and only now and then will FF4.0.1 restore previous (normal) session after returning from a private browsing session, )I use the Quit Private Browsing menu item from the Toolbar right-click menu to go back).... In addition, previously Pinned sites (apps) are lost also, and all must be re-added.
Inconsistent failure and I've not been able to reliably reproduce-- sometimes (about 4-6 times in 10) it just loses all previous information.

I would add that bookmarks may be organised into folders and subfolders. You may wish to make more use of bookmarks if only to ensure you do not loose everything if your session restore becomes problematic.
Bookmarks are a bit more robust than the session restore system. Firefox backs them up automatically and you may do so manually. Possibly Firefox will behave better and faster with hundreds of bookmarks but only tens of tabs open. There is also the tabs groups, but that is something I think development has ceased on and may have similar issues to session restore / or open tabs.

Field extensions in Privat Account and Corporate Account

Hi,
is it a bug or a feature that there is no distinction between the Overview views of Corporate and Private Accounts with regard to extension fields?
Background: I try to show different extension fields for Corporate and Private Accounts. Unfortunately, all extension fields I enable (make visible) for the Corporate Overview are also visible in the Privat Overview and vice versa.
In Edit-Mode the problem does not come up.

I found some time to test it
EDIT mode:
There are two different screens for customer in EDIT mode:
- accountpersoifeco
- accointorgoifeco
(same for qaf)
So I added one Business Object Extension with two new elements to node common:
[Extension]element OrgExtensionField : Text;
[Extension]element PersExtensionField : Text;
After that, I saved and activated the extension and opened the UI-Designer to enhance the screens.
I added one field to the personal account oif/qaf and the other to the organisation acoount oif/qaf (add, save and activate).
It works, I have one additional field on the organisation screen and the other on the personal screen.
OVERVIEW mode:
How Christian said, there is only one technical screen:
- accountoverviewqafeco
So you only have the possibility to add both extension fields to the same screen. SAP checks by default if "/Root/IsPerson" or if "/Root/IsOrganization", but you can`t do this checks cause you have no permission to edit the properties of you extension field (propertiy "visible") -> "Component which you trying to edit comes from a lower level. Please use Extensibility Explorer to edit".
I see no way to solve your problem, sorry.
@SAP Is there anything planned to give partner the possibility to change properties of existing or extension fields? It would be great feature...edit labels, visibility checks(SAPRuby), Mandatory fields etc.
