  • CS4 FW Internal Error

Has anyone a solution to the Fireworks not launching/Internal
Error issue? I've read a good bit of threads and no single solution
    has worked.

I'm having similar issues as well. In my case, I can't do a
thing but kill the session using Task manager and try to start
over. Doesn't seem to be a file corruption issue, more like a file
size issue...these freeze ups are more frequent and more serious on
my laptop (Vista 32bit with 3GB RAM) than with the exact same files
on my workstation (Vista 64 with 6GB RAM).
I suspect that reinstalling isn't the answer, given that this
is happening for me on 2 diff machines.
Looks like Adobe is staying true to its tradition of shipping
    lemons as a first release...

  • CS4 Fireworks on win7 "internal error" solved

Just to let everyone know, that deleting the Fireworks CS4  "roaming app"  data solved the "internal error problems" for us...
Its in the user data folder.

It didn't work for me. I'm still with the same error.
I'm using Windows 7 ultimate and a Master collection CS4... All programs are working well, only fireworks insist with this.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thx

  • CS4 Fireworks says an internal error has occurred

When starting CS4 Fireworks, it locks up saying "an internal error has occurred". Have to use Task Manager to close it. Fireworks will not re-ininstall from disk, it just sits there on "Installing" screen. Please assist.

Adobe offers NO help on this issue that happens with CS4, CS5 and CS6.
    I found this work around:
Go to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\ (or whatever version you are using)
RENAME above folder to something like  \Fireworks CS4_old\
    Start Fireworks.
    Problem resolved!

  • Creating standards-compliant web designs with Fireworks CS4 Problems

    Hello,
i have some problems with using background image slices.
here is it(from the DevNet arcticle creating standards
compliant web designs with fireworks cs4):
With this feature, seeing really is believing, so let's get
    straight to it:
    1. Create a new 500 × 500 document.
    2. Draw a 200 × 40 rectangle.
    3. Set the background color as #000099.
    4. Set its fill to be a Linear gradient.
    5. Change the first Gradient node's color to #9999FF.
    6. Select Edit > Insert > Rectangular Slice.
    7.
Change the following properties In the Property Inspector:
    * Name: bg_rect
    * Width: 1px
    * Type: Background Image
    * Repeat: repeat-x
    * Horizontal position: left
    * Vertical position: top
    8. Using the Optimize panel, set the slice's export format
    to GIF - Exact.
    9. Export as bg_slice.htm using CSS and Images.
    10. Locate the file and preview it in your primary browser.
i followed these steps exactly but i get no tiled background
    only the 200 x 40 rectangle.can anyone tell me what's wrong ?
    Kind Regards,

I followed these steps exactly and also viewed the HTML/CSS
exported in Firefox 3.0.5, and the rectangle appeared with the
correctly tiled gradient background. (I'm on a Win XP SP3 machine.)
I tried changing the canvas color to transparent, moving the
rectangle and slice around, changing the width of the slice, and
even changing the horizontal and vertical positioning of the
background image, and the export was still correct. Is it possible
your background image slice is not placed over the gradient? Have
you looked at the CSS exported to confirm that "bg_rect.gif" is
listed as the background image for the DIV and that the .GIF file
is being exported and is a narrow gradient image? Are all of the
export options correct? (There's only a few export options for CSS
and images (.htm), so I doubt this is your problem...)
At risk of asking the obvious, are you using Fireworks CS4
with the updated CSS/HTML extension from the article installed?
HTML/CSS export works differently between CS3 and CS4 - John
Wylie's extension was created for CS3, and Matt Stow updated it for
    CS4.

  • Fireworks CS6 Internal Error, other components APPCRASH

    Hello,
I have tried installing this CS6 Web Premium for the past month on my corporate machine. My local IT has re-imaged and even replaced my hard drive a number of times with fresh CS6 installs right after. 32 & 64 bit. Currently I am on a new hard drive with fresh Windows 7 64 bit OS.
Here is what happened on the latest install attempt.
Dreamweaver opened initially and then went straight into "Not Responding" status for about 10 minutes. I finally ended task, tried to open again with no luck. Restart, power off and on, nothing has gotten DW to open again. It will not even give me an error message. I see the curser wheel spin for a few seconds when I attempt to open it initially, then it just goes back to normal as if nothing happened, and never opens nor errors.
Fireworks gives me an error: "Could not launch Fireworks. An internal error has occured." That's it, I can select "OK" and go on my way but never able to open the software.
Bridge and Extension Manage both open without error.
Every other component, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, etc gives me a different type of error: "Adobe Illustrator CS6 has stopped working, Windows can check online for a solution to the problem." Though of course attempting to do so yields no results. Nothing even happens when I choose that option. So I can simply "Close the program" and move along never being able to open the software. • Fireworks 'internal error'

I downloaded the Fireworks trial to test out different
picture editing softwares however i haven't managed to get far with
Fireworks. Every time i try start it up, i get this exact message
in a small pop-up box when its initializing plugins: "Could not
launch Fireworks. An Internal error occurred."
    then it all closes....
i also get an error with flash when starting up but dream
    weaver works fine... :|
anyone got a clue on whats going on?
i forgot to mention, i have WIN XP service pack 2 (32 bit
platform.....) enough disk space (external hard drive).
Edit: please i'de like an explanation to this.

I had the same issue with Fireworks V8 and the trial V9. I
managed to pinpoint it to the install of the recent version of
Quicktime. The program prevents Fireworks from starting and
uninstalling the program. The 'add remove program' says the program
is removed but it is not, check the folder, while uninstalling
Quicktime displays an error. Once I manually removed Quicktime both
    versions of Fireworks worked fine.

  • Internal error on splash screen

hey guys, Ive been having an error in the last couple days on my Fireworks CS5. I got the creative/web suite, and everything else is working great, except for my bread and butter fireworks. On the intro splash screen, it gets to the plug-ins part (usually) and then crashes. Could not launch fireworks. An internal error occured. Anyone else having this problem? I tried re-installing, editing my preferences sheet, a couple little things Ive heard around but nothing is working. I feel like a crippled gazelle on the savannah without my fireworks, does anyone know or been thru something similar? I recently installed some Codecs, specifically Ace mega codecs pack, but thats about it....if I sound frantic, its only because I am.  anybody???

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.3 "Internal Error" - Mac OSX 10.7.4?

Battling for hours trying to get the Reader to work with a new MBP running 10.7.4.  It downloads and installs OK and I get the licensing page but after clicking 'Agree' I just get 'An Internal Error Occurred'.
For hours this drove me mad.  I tried deleting, re-installing, eliminating all traces of Adobe from User and Root libraries under Application Support, Preferences and also Internet Plug Ins.  I've also tried the (not) fix of installing Java Runtime.
Having done more digging - I have a second 'admin' user on the Mac, just in case I ever have problems with the one I use day to day.  When I logged is as THAT administrator, Reader opened and worked?
Adobe Reader worked under the spare Admin account so I deleted that in case it was confusing the installer.  I then rerpaired persmissions.  I then re-installed Reader.  Same problem "Internal Error"!!
So, I re-created another Admin account and again opened Reader.  No problem?  After clicking accept licence it opened up with a question to make default or not.  After this I hunted through every folder and found that Under 'User/Librarary/Application Support/Adobe' there was an Acrobat folder.  When I checked the account I normally use there wasn't, and never was??  So I copied pasted a copy of the Acrobat folder into the same location on the non working account and all is fine.
Problem for me is, why did this happen?  I wasted almost a day on this. Is it a problem with the installer, the Macbook or Permissions.  I checked permissions and they are identical to those on the spare Admin account.  So why did the installer not create the Acrobat folder on the main account from where it was installed, the one I was using at the time?  Yet with an account created after install it correctly opens up with an Acrobat folder under that User/Library/ Application/Support.  Reason it concerns me is with regard to updates.  Will they also screw up?
I'll try to explore further as times goes on but for now I have to say I've had enough of Acrobat and Lion for one day.  "It just works".  Really???

Right. After almost a day I finally sorted the problem.

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.3 - Internal Error Occurred??

Been battling for hours trying to get the bog standard reader to work with a new MBP running 10.7.4.  It downloads and installs OK and I get the licensing page but after clicking 'Agree' I just get 'An Internal Error Occurred'.
Suffice it to say this is driving me mad now.  I've tried deleting, re-installing, eliminating all traces of Adobe from User and Root libraries under Application Support, Preferences and also Internet Plug Ins.  I've also tried the (not) fix of installing Java Runtime.
All in all, epic fail. NOTHING seems to fix it and I think it's time to give up with Adobe Reader and find something else or just stick with preview.  So much time to fix a bog standard application (maybe I should stick with Windows where "It just works").  Really is a royal PITA.  I've scoured the net for problems and I'm just wondering if it's a commong problem seeing as I don't see many others reporting it.  I certainly don't plan on doing a full system restore just to sort this out.
Anyone come across it or got any ideas to save me wasting yet more of my life on this?  Any hep appreciated.

  • "An internal error occurred" Adobe Fireworks CS4 login problem

When loading up Adobe Fireworks CS4, I keep getting "An internal error occurred" message. I have looked before online for solutions and tried isolating potentially corrupt fonts that could be preventing the programme not loading as well as deleting the Prefs.xml file. However, these solutions don't seem to work.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Please let me know the following:
    1. The exact version of Adobe Reader on your system. You can get the same by clicking on Help > About Adobe Reader.
If its not Reader 10.1.3, please update to the latest version and see if it solves the problem.
    2. Which antivirus software are you using. Can you try disabling the same and see if it solves the problem.
    3. Are you using any 3rd party plug-ins? If you are not sure, then please delete all files and folder present at:
        C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins
Now try and repair the installation from the Control Panel > Programs and Features.

  • Fireworks CS4 Internal error when starting

    Hello,
Have upgraded to CS4 Web Premium yesterday. Everything seems
to working fine except for Fireworks.
When trying to load it says 'Fireworks can not be started,
internal error occurred' . This always happens on the splash screen
    at the point 'Initializing Tools'
I have tried re-installing, I have tried removed Application
Data and renaming the Control Panels folder (read this somewhere as
something to try) but nothing resolves the problem.
At the moment I have to revert to using Fireworks CS3 which
continues to work without any problems.
    Help!
    Cheers
    Neil

message appeared twice in the same message box).
I resolved this issue by deleting my Fireworks CS4
    "configuration" folder.
For Vista users you can find this folder under
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\. Sorry XP users
but I don't know the exact path for you but will assume that it is
    something like C:\Documents and
    Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\.
I renamed the "Fireworks CS4" folder to "Fireworks CS4 OLD"
(just so I could access it again if need be). When I relaunched
Firefox CS4, the "configuration" folder was recreated and my
problem disappeared (along with any preferences and workspaces that
I had created - but hey that is better than NOT being able to
    access the application fullstop).
I hope this can help you all.
I did that. I even deleted the whole Adobe folder and still
    having no luck.
I can only try and reinstall Windows Vista :(
When you say that you deleted the whole Adobe folder do you
    mean the one I described
    (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\)? The only reason
I ask is that you say in your earlier post that you were playing
    around with "Program Files/Adobe/Fireworks CS4".

  • Fireworks CS4 internal error when export to PDF

Trying to export a PDF from a layout gets an internal error
message with Fireworks CS4. The layout involves a master page plus
5 pages with a few PSD images imported. To test to see if it was
something to do with the specific file, I tried another simple
single page png which initially exported but then started to fail
as well. Regular export to CSS, etc. seems to be fine. My OS is
    Vista Business.
I've tried googling for a solution but have only found topics
around certain fonts causing start up failures.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • Stop the Internal Error Message in Fireworks CS4 or CS3

About 8 hours ago I ran into what is apparently a fairly
common problem for many people using Fireworks - the error message
that wouldn't allow me to save anything. Luckily, I paid attention
in class long enough to at least know to save my work often, so I
didn't lose much - just a basic wireframe that I threw together in
15 minutes or so. Thankfully, I tried saving when I did or this
would probably be a very tearful night for me. Instead, it's just a
long night. I can deal with that.
But, before I pat my iMac on the top of it's screen and say
"goodnight" I wanted to share with you the secret to "fixing" the
error message. Hopefully this will help those poor souls in the
future who need a little guidance from someone who's been there,
done that, and is too tired to design the t-shirt. This method will
    also work on Windows machines.
I'm not saying this is guaranteed to work for you, but I'm
telling you it's worth a shot. It only requires a little of your
time to do and will hopefully be the fix you need. If it's not,
please accept my sincerest understanding of your frustration and
try another method. This fix suggests that you have added, removed,
or relocated fonts on your computer since the last time Fireworks
worked properly, however, even if you haven't done any of those
things I'd still recommend giving this a try. Here's what you do:
    1. Open your favorite font manager software. I prefer the
pre-installed Font Book on the Mac, but you can use any font
manager that you want. Some good commercial font management
programs for Mac include, MasterJuggler, Suitcase Fusion, FontAgent
Pro, and Font Explorer X. For Windows you might want to try, Font
Fitting Room, X-Fonter, Suitcase for Windows, OT1 Font Manager by J
M Berthier, MainType, FontExplorer for Windows, Printer’s
Apprentice, FontAgent Pro for Windows, Typograf, or FontExpert.
Those are in no particular order, just in case you were wondering.
    2. select all of your installed fonts - including your system
fonts. Run your "validate font" command for the font management
program you're using. Sit back and let it work. I had more than
6,000 fonts on my Mac, so it took a few minutes to run through all
    of them.
    3. Your font management program should let you know which, if
any, of your fonts are corrupt, duplicates, or otherwise
dead-weight. Chances are there will be a few if you're getting the
internal error message at start-up or save with Fireworks. You need
to delete or at least remove these fonts from the fonts folder. I
had, and I'm ashamed of this, 256 duplicates and 135 dead fonts on
my poor computer. But, in my own defense, I did just reinstall many
of the fonts a few days ago and was planning to gradually work
through them to pull out the dead/unwanted ones. I should have done
that before putting them to disc last time, but no... I wasn't
    thinking.
    4. once you have the fonts removed/deleted that produced
errors or warnings during the scan with your font management
program you might want to run the scan one more time just to be
sure you got everything out. If everything looks good, you can now
    quit/exit the font manager.
    5. here's where things will seriously divide for Windows
users and Mac users. Therefore, I'm not going to fully explain
where you need to go or how to get there for this step, but I will
provide the basics. On your computer, you need to find the folders
for fireworks that contain your preferences for the program (hint,
look in the user's appdata folders, which is hidden, for Windows or
the user's Library for Mac). Inside the preferences folder you'll
find a file that houses a list of fonts, probably called fontlist
or something very similar. Delete it. You might also wish to delete
the cache for the program preferences. Those need to be regenerated
in order for this to work.
    6. Find your computer's font cache while you're looking
through the massive amounts of folders and delete the file there
too for a little added security that this will work.
    7. restart your computer.
    8. open Fireworks and create a new file. Save that file to
your computer in whatever format you want.
If the program opened, the file saved, and you didn't receive
that same old error message, congratulations, it worked! You may
have to re-establish your preference settings, but you shouldn't
    have any other problems.
That is the best I can do this evening... or morning I
suppose it would be. Best of luck to you!

An update is being made to address some major problems, if

  • CS4 - "Could not render the database. An Internal error occured"

I just purchased FW CS4 (full) to replace my ancient
Fireworks 4 (yes, *4*). Unfortunately, CS4 tries to update text in
my old FW files and promptly displays a message "Could not render
the database. An internal error occured." It would really suck if I
bought this but cannot edit my old FW files! Anyone else having
this trouble and know of a solution?
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium on a Dell XPS 420 with
    a quad core processor.

Can you try the following solution posted at another Thread
    which relates to Vista functioning?
"Navigate to the program file for the extension manager and
select properties. On the compatibility tab select the option to
run as administrator, click on the all users options and select run
as administrator for all users if desired and then apply. Of course
the option is only available if you have the UAC turned on.
Now, re-install the extensions and you should have no
problems. You'll just have to deal with the UAC everytime you use
    the extension manager."
Does it solve the extensions installation issue?

Nope, same problem. I have encountered a new problem as well.
When trying to install extentions from the FW exchange I get error
messages in the extention manager like:
    "Can't create folder...[/path/]"
