Buffering issuse, Video/audio sync, movie freezing

Ever since I updated my Itune a couple months ago I have had issues with watching movies I purchased from Itunes. After about 15 minutes The sync between audio and video is off. Then after a bit more time the video freezes up and audio still streams then it looks like someone hit fast forward and the video catches back up to the audio. Can anyone tell me how to ajdust the buffer size since it seems Apple took it away?

That's makes sense of course so let me ask you this for possible alternatives.. I mean I was able to edit perfect a format that's not good for fcp but if it plays perfectly there there got to be a way to get it out right?
I took that large ProRes version, since it did play correctly in qt unlike all the others, and threw it into compressor to convert to back to H264, thought being it will convert properly going that direction versus the previous direction thus hopefully being small enough to burn to a dvd..I won't know for a few hours til it's done
Idea two... What if I open my edited fcp project..and export each sequence, opposed to the whole time line, and then bring each of those exported movies into a new project with the correct settings? Then as I line up all the sequences obviously I will have to render the whole thing but at least it will be in the correct format. Since there will be no editing to do I could just add the chapter markers back in and export to QuickTime correct? Although i think that essentially what I'm doing in the previous idea with compressor kinda sorta
This could have been avoided obviously if I knew more before starting but also if fcp doesn't work with a particular format I'm surprised it let me work with it so flawlessly... I have read that while it doesn't play well with it it will providing there are a lot of effect or processing involved...which in this project there aren't..except for the section right before the problem start...so another consideration I have is to export just the highly processed middle scene sequences out to bring them back in with the format traits of the simple clips...
I appreciate you help... I'm trying to find a way not to re edit the whole feature lol. Thank you

  • H.264 web video loses audio sync and freezes frame in JW media player

    Hi,
I am trying to put my H-264 video (.mov) that I compress with Compressor on the web to play in JW media player. The problem is, after 30 seconds of smoothly playing, the video starts to lag, freezes frames and ever since then the audio do not sync with the video anymore (can be as far apart as 10 second). Strangely, this only happens on the longer videos.
I am assuming it has something to do with the compression setting that makes the file is too big and thus create streaming bottlenecking? Maybe I should readjust my parameters?
this is the setting I use:
    File Extension: mp4
    Estimated file size: 104.3 MB
    Audio Encoder
    AAC, Mono, 44.100 kHz
    Video Encoder
    Format: QT

Thanks for the input. What do you mean by encoding it as H.264 not mp4 - which setting affects that?
    Maybe I already has it?
here is what I have now:

  • Video on Exported Movie Freezes During Playback, Audio Continues

This is a reoccurring problem I've found in some of my exported movies. After successfully exporting a project (in full quality), I view the movie in QuickTime player, where, somewhere in the middle of the movie the visual freezes and stays frozen on the same frame for the remainder of the movie. The audio however doesn't skip a beat and continues normally. The playhead in the QuickTime player continues without interruption as well. The location (or frame) where the movie freezes is always the same every time the movie is played. If you attempt to skip over the freeze spot by clicking later in the timeline, you'll successfully move the playhead forward to where you want but the visual is still frozen on that frame and the audio is fine as well. This suggests to me iMovie rendered the movie to a certain point and then, for some reason, rendered a still frame for the remaining duration.
The movie plays normally in the playback/preview within the iMovie app. itself.
The only clue I have is it seems to have this problem after a slow or fast motion effect is used. The frozen frame is generally the last frame in the clip that has a slow motion effect. If I go into the project and move the end of the clip forward to erase the troublesome frame, export, and view, the movie is completely normal until it hits another special effected clip.
This is truly a hassle and the poor solution I've found to fixing it ruins the synching I've put a lot of work into.
Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

I have had the same problem on multiple movies. I'm going to submit your post to apple feedback & I suggest you do the same. Have you found any solution? http://www.apple.com/feedback/imovie.html
I think the problem is related to running out of memory/virtual memory, so on another post I saw rebooting & shutting down other programs before rendering suggested.
Exporting in a smaller size worked for me, but I didn't create this movie to watch in postage stamp size. I'm a new mac user - what happened to apple's promise of things "just working"?

  • Video/audio sync off?

I just bought an iPod today (therefore it hasn't come yet), as well as the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I started watching Pirates on iTunes, and the video and audio were slightly off. Will this be corrected once I put it on my yet-to-arrive iPod or can I correct it or just have to live with it? Oh, and if this question is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it. Thanks.
    XP   Windows XP

It could be your computer. Once you get your iPod if the movie does not have the audio synced contact Apple and they will let you download a new copy.

  • Embedded Video Audio Sync Problem

I have been exporting Flash Video from Adobe Premiere
Elements 3.0. I import the .FLV into Flash 8 as embedded video. The
published .SWF works fine, audio and video start in sync and stay
in sync, but about 3/4 through the video, audio stops.
This occurs no matter how short or long the exported clip.
I did my best searching through these forums, looking for an
answer to this issue, but have had no success.

Do you need to embed the FLV file in the SWF file? I would
recommend playing the FLV as an external file. If you need to use
embedded video, make sure the frame rates are identical (SWF and
FLV). I can't remember if Premiere Elements enables you to output
with Raw audio for FLV files, but Flash 8 (or CS3) will recompress
an embedded video's audio track on publish/export--so, try to use
Raw if you can to avoid recompression. This might have something to
do with your problem too, the recompression of the MP3 audio track
in your original FLV when re-exporting as embedded video in the
SWF. (Your audio stream setttings in the Publish Settings control
the quality/recompression of your FLV output when embedded in the
    SWF.)

  • Video audio sync problems resolved

I've solved my audio syncing with video problems.  Maybe it will help you find your solution.
I recently installed Leap Motion but it said I needed to update my video driver.  I thought my driver was up to date so for both my computers that had different video cards I updated and the syncing issues were gone.
So as far as helping you get the right update I won't be of much help.  But at least this will give everyone a direction to look in and find their own solution.
I hope this helps and good luck!

    Hi there
In addition to what Leslie offered (which is good advice) I've seen others report success by staging the audio to begin slightly after the slide starts. Perhaps .3 .4 or .5 seconds into each slide.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Video audio sync prob. using 9-and hd camera

K so here is my problem: Using E-9 with a JVC GY-HD 100 camera.  after I import the audio is off.  What the hell!  The audio and Video are synced on the tape so it has to be the program.  Do I have settings wrong someplace?   Help.  And TY in advance.

You're trying to edit video from a professional $3000 camcorder on a $75 program? What the hell!
    But oh well.
When you started your Premiere Elements project, which settings did you select?
Did you use Premiere Elements Get Media tool to capture your video?

  • Video/Audio Sync Issues

I've uplaoded 2 different sets of media files in my project.  The videos work independently.  The audio and video are attached and have not been seperated.  One set of files are experiecning audio glitches.  I've then brought both sets of files into Movavi, and the opposite files are experiencing glitches.  Is my goal impossible?  What's a plausible solution?

After checking the OOS, it's not out of sync, it's glitching.  His  "mac" files are glitching in Premiere, my mpg1s are glitching in  Movavi.  Meanwhile NONE of the files are glitching in Windows Movie Maker.  These glitches are consistent but in random locations, and no not locations I had razored.  Once the "MAC files" are loaded into Premiere they have glitches, before I begin editing.
I'm on my personal PC which is only 5 months old.  In the past I've dealt with glitches too on older computers and different editing softwar, (nero 7, roxio vhs to dvd, now premiere) and as I said I've also tested this out on my laptop and have dealt with the exact same glitches.  Premeire is encodign these glitches durign import.
I just looked in the forums for this more defined issue and it is exactly like this unasnwered forum:  http://forums.adobe.com/message/1702092#1702092
"While playing it seems to jump a few frames ahead every so often  before it's actually supposed to and then will teleport back. This is  before exporting or anything. Just going from import to viewing the  imported clip in Premiere. "
Sorry I quoted myself and there is no undo:
While waiting for a response I've begun extratcing audio of files and adding it as "music" to Windows Movie Maker so i can have some semblance of a finished product, ebcause somethign is better than nothing.  I'm still 2 seconds from going to going to Staples and getting Roxio Creator 2010.
I went to GSPOT and found that the original MOV files "couldn't find codecs", but when I converted those files a while back, they had codecs.
    "CONTAINER: MPEG-2 Program Stream << { 1 vid, 1 aud }, MPG2 with an audio container of  MPEG-1 Layer 2."
Now for my files, they are MPEG-1 with an audio container of  MPEG-1 Layer 2.  Now I have also converted those files to match the MPG2 format.
Based on this GSPOT app, I found that the MPG1 file was 100% pink in the "relative composition of the file by frame type" bar and the MPG2 and converted MOVs to MPG2s was 6% pink 94% purple.  I don't know if this means anything?

  • External Video Audio Sync

    Hi All,
I use an external monitor running though a Canopus analog video -> DV breakout box. When I have external video turned off, everything is perfectly in sync on the canvas. When I turn external video to 'all frames,' the canvas is off by a few frames.
I understand that there will be a slight delay when I'm looking at the external monitor since the audio is coming from the computers speakers. However, why does the canvas become slightly out of sync? What does one have to do with the other?
I found this line in another post:
"check the frame offset in the system settings, F/W is usually a 4 frame offset."
I'm not in front of my FCP system right now, but is this something I should look into? What is frame offset?
    Thanks,
    ~ Jim

When you get to your system...go to Final Cut Pro / System Settings / Playback Controls tab.
Play around with the frame offset (FCP default is 4), until your computer monitor and external monitor are in sync.
    ...from FCS1 manual 1, p220...
"Note: Depending on your external monitor configuration, you may need to experiment with frame offset values to synchronize the external monitor and the computer display"
Running through the Canopus may introduce a different latency than the default.

  • E66 with Video/audio sync problem

Is there someone where the E66 does NOT have the audio/video sync problem?
    Test:
Record your finger tapping on the table, then check if Video and Audio are in sync
Mine has 1 sec or more afer a few seconds of recording

    I called Nokia care,
They never heard of the problem!
They did not even know there was a firmware upgrade last feb.
Furthermore on the site, still frimware from nov last year is advertised as latest!
I will go to a service point, or return the phone to the store.

  • Problem with video audio sync using Bluetooth headphones

I have recently bought a pair of beats studio wireless headphones but when using my ipad there are sync issues with video and audio. Many apps have the problem but sky go seems to be the worst followed by YouTube. Apple video is not too bad but not perfect.

    Hello Jamie,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your new Bluetooth headphones.  It can certainly get frustrating if the audio gets out of sync when using the headphones.
I recommend reviewing the sections titled "Resolution" and "Bluetooth disconnects, intermittent connectivity, or unable to find" in the following article for steps to troubleshoot the issue you described:

  • Flip Video/Audio Sync Issues

I'm trying to import video taken with a Flip camera into Final Cut Express, synchronize that video with an independent audio track taken on a Zoom H2, and then do an edit. The issue that arises is as follows: while I can get the audio and video lined up via the clapper, they do NOT stay in sync.
I've read in other forums that FCE doesn't play nice with MP4 and have used MPEG Streamclip to convert the Flip video, but am still dealing with synchronization issues. I've also tried converting the MP3 with the sample rate of 44.1K to 48 — with no luck whatsoever.
I'm grateful for any help that anyone can provide.

Convert the audio to aiff 48kHz.
When adjusting the audio track/s you will have to de-select the video so the audio tracks are manipulated independently.

  • Itunes video -- audio is out of sync

I've downloaded three "The Office" episodes over the past two months.
When I first downloaded an episoded it played back fine.
The most recent episode, I noticed the audio gets ahead of the video.
I played back the first episode I downloaded and the video-audio sync is off on that, as well.
    Any suggestions?
I have the latest Itunes and quicktime running on my pc.

As you're running the current versions of QT/iTunes
    contact iTMS CS:

    Thanks
Yeah. I saw that QT wasn't up to date so I installed the new version and it didn't help.

  • Teleconferencing app - Video/Audio not synced

I have a Flex based application which is using Flash Media Server (FMS) server (version 4.0)  for live video streaming between two users (i.e. a one to one teleconferencing service). This streaming is one-to-one, as defined by business rules, so that no third person can join a teleconference. Either person can start the video stream via a browser-based Flex client and communication gets established once the second user joins. Validation for connecting the streams of the two users is implemented on the FMS server (as server side scripting defined in main.asc).
Almost every teleconference has video/audio sync issue of anywhere between 2-10 seconds (i.e. the audio and video feeds are not synchronized).
Question - any suggestions on how this can be corrected, either client or server side?
    Thanks for the ideas...
    Jonathan

Re: Video/Audio not synced when viewing on computerT I'm using the HD+ mode and it is in synch. After more playing around I noticed that I sometimes experience the stop motion but then it quickly returns. It only happens when I have other programs open. If I close all programs and just have open the video, it works well. Again, this is a limitation of my computer power.
Try this... Open up the Task Manager and then play a video. See how much of the computers power you are utilizing when the video plays. Look at the processes that are open and close anything you don't need. Most people have too much stuff running in the background on their computers that slows it down. They usually come preloaded from the manufactor that way. I have set up my computer so that nothing runs automatically when you start-up. It makes the computer much faster.
Also, are you running Vista? Vista is a memory hog. Try messing around with Vista's settings. Vista can limit your computer power. With your computer power, you shouldn't be having such a problem. Maybe switch back to XP.

  • Audio/video are sync in the fms live stream

Almost every teleconference has video/audio sync issue of anywhere between 2-10 seconds (i.e. the audio and video feeds are not synchronized).
Question - any suggestions on how this can be corrected, either client or server side?

Pretty sure I solved my own problem...
The mp3 is 44khz, but in all of my exports I had it set at 48khz. At least with the H264 format, exporting it with the audio set properly at 44khz seems to have fixed my issue!
edit: I lied. Still getting some synchronizationg problems. I *think* that helped a little bit, but it's strange that it would only help a bit and not completely remove all the problems.
