BUG APEX 4.1 IR Download/Subscription

My happiness was short.
Apex 4.1 has SMTP authentication, it's fantastic news.
But when I started testing it I found that Download and Subscription Interactive Report features not working. Problem is in field "To:" This field is use to "From" variable it's a bug:
- you can't use multi adress in To field
- SMTP permanent error: 553 5.7.1 <[email protected]>: Sender address rejected: not owned by user service_user

Yes, we are aware of To address is getting used as From. Currently multiple email address issue happens in Interactive report Email download not in subscription. We had request of defining From address in subscription, so we might let user enter in or use the instance settings. Not decided, yet. We will take a look.

ApEx 4 to Excel download - Numbers end up as Strings

Hello,
We are developing reports in ApEx 4. Some users will be downloading them to Excel to further play with the data.
We are formating some number fields (Sales, quantities, etc.) using 99,999,999,999.99 or 999G999G999G999G990D00.
Everything is great until we export report to Excel.
Number
'123,456.78'
is created in Excel with leading spaces:
' 123,456.78'
This prevents user from additional data manipulation like using it in formulas/functions or doing summaries since Excel doesn't recognize it as a Number.
It works properly if we use dollar sing in the format or we don't set the format at all.
Is there any way to set the format in Apex so that it download's properly to Excel?

This is a common problem, if you are using an interactive report there is a pretty painless workaround for it.
1. Add another column to your report with the unformatted value of your numeric column. I generally use the <col>, <col>_DL (download) naming convention.
select to_char(12345,'999G999G999G999G990D00') the_number,
12345 the_number_dl
from dual2. Make the new DL column display before or after your formatted column.
3. Save the interactive report as default settings with this column displaying.
4. Make the display condition for your formatted column "Request != Expression 1". expression 1 = CSV
5. Make the display condition for your _DL column "Request = Expression 1". expression 1 = CSV
The DL column will be rendered when the interactive report submits the request to download the report to a file and the display column will be used when it is rendered to your web browser.

Thanks its working fine, but if i want to see the list of images the path which u have mentioned is possible to me...
as i had registerd in apex.oracle.com which is not instaled in your system..
so is there any other option.. in order to know the list of names of images icons.
for ex i need to delete a partcular file for that what kind of image i need to be mentioned in Link text...
and at the same time can we change the icon name i mean when ever we move the cursor on that particular icon it is showing as edit every time ..
instead of edit name can we change that name to say (download,delete..)

Failed to download subscription

Hi,
I updated my PRU and when the server try to connect to the Subscription
service, I receive the Failed to download subscription error message.
I restarted the server without results.

MP3 Download Subscription Provide

I agree that quality is an important factor. However, when I took a look at the Musicmatch 0. download page, I saw a mention of 60 kbps WMA files--the same quality as the existing Musicmatch service.
With that and the different track offerings, is it possible that Musicmatch is using its existing provider (don't recall who it is) for purchased downloads, but MusicNet (YMU's provider) for subscriptions?
Though I suspect it's only a matter of time before Musicmatch is merged into YMU and Yahoo! Music Engine, there are still differences in functionality between MMJB and YME. Also, MMJB is used around the world (though its music store is only for the US); YME (the software as well as YMU) is only offered in the US, though I wouldn't be surprised if it were to launch in the UK soon.
A couple of sidenotes:
I downloaded HMV's player and went as far as its TOS, just to be sure it really was UK-restricted (I was able to download a couple of tracks to the US from their old OD2-powered service, even with a US credit card); it said it was for the UK and Ireland, not just the UK. That seems to make HMV the first "to go" subscription service in Ireland; Napster To Go and Virgin Digital don't go there.</LI>
But I am a little surprised that all three UK services so far--Napster To Go, Virgin Digital, and HMV DIgital--charge GBP4.95 (currently just over US$27.50) for a monthly subscription, especially after the recent study saying most wouldn't pay more than US$0 a month in ANY country. High subscription prices may be more likely to hold in the UK than in the US (IIRC, the UK and Japan are the two biggest per-capita consumers of music in the world), but despite the market power of HMV and Virgin, it leaves the door wide open for Yahoo! to undercut them, just as in the US.</LI>

Currently there is no way to do that ..Due to a long standing issue you will not be able to renew the subsription yet. The Oxicash (India) link is surely not working and the Vouchers are not even available at Nokia Care. You need to wait till the issue gets resolved.

Unlimited download subscription expiry

I purchased new Nokia Lumia 830. It seems it came with one year unlimited downloads subscription for Mix Radio. I signed in with my phone with existing id which had a Nokia Lumia 720 already linked to it. When I signed into Mix Radio it joined my old phone subscription which had expired long back with new one. It deducted 271days and set expiry date in February 2015 whereas it should have been November 2015 as i activated new phone this month. What strange is this? I could not use subscrition which expired but it deducted 271days from new subscription.
Does any one know solution to this and is there anyway to correct my subscription to one year as it should be with new phone.

Transfer my download subscription of Creative Cloud to a new Mac.

I have a download subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud that i've used on my MacBook Pro. Just bought a great MacBook Air and I'd like to transfer my subscription to the Air. How do I do that?

BUG: iTunes Reporting Section Doubling Download Metrics

I've found what seems to be a bug on the reporting section of the iTunes U metrics and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.
I have attached a video to demonstrate what is happening, but essentially if I start counting metrics from Jan 2012, which is when Apple switched over to their new reporting system, the system doubles our number of downloads (among other things). If we start counting from Feb 2012 through the present, the metrics seem to be consistent with what Apple shows me on the front summary page.

Sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Just for grins I tried the sequence again on a different Mac (MacBook Air, 10.8.2) with the same results...no change in the numbers.
Just as an experiment, have you tried resetting Safari? It might be worth a try. All the best...

Slew of bugs (similar to failed to download script thread)

This is a bug report listing all the problems I’ve encountered with Story and what I was doing when they occurred:
I logged into Adobe Story using the AIR application in online mode.
I attempted to open a script, which was originally imported from Movie Magic Screen Writer vs. 6 and had been edited several times in Story prior to this error with no problems. It has also been shared but only for review.
I received an error reporting that the script was unable to be downloaded.
I opened another script and worked on it with no errors.
I tried to open the original script again.
It opened.
Upon first scrolling of the script I received an error that Adobe Story encountered a fatal error and would have to be shut down. (Sorry I did not keep the detailed report)
Upon restart I attempted to open the script again, in online mode.
Script opens but there is no text.
I set Adobe AIR to offline mode and open script.
Script opens with text, but formatting is screwy with seemingly random spaces removed. Reads like this:
A man uses abetaversion of a program. He expereinceserrors with the program.
This is consistent every time I open this particular script: in online mode nothing is there, in offline mode formatting is a mess.
I have one other script in Story and it doesn’t seem to have these issues, however, I was looking for where Story stores offline scripts on my computer for backup purposes due to the above error and was surprised to find no files in the “Adobe Story” folder under “Documents”. I also found no option to select a location to save files to in Story. For backup of critical work this is a required feature. I have to be able to control where my material is stored and do so locally so that if there are fatal errors like above I can recover from a known good locally saved file.
This concerned me so I attempted to export to Movie Magic Screen Writer. I was alarmed to find no export to SCW option after having imported from it (I think a claim of 3rd party interoperability is pretty absurd if Story can’t export to this popular program). I exported as .txt to try and preserve a backup of work done in Story. This .txt file opens using the Notepad application and is formatted correctly there, but fails to import properly into Movie Magic (no text in script at all).
I perform a select all and copy in Story of the script.
I perform a paste in Movie Magic.
Formatting of text is messy in Movie Magic similar to the above problem.
Upon immediate return to Story, formatting of this script is also messy and matches exactly the formatting in Movie Magic. Only a select all and copy have been performed on this script. This error is consistent and hapens every time. I have a duplicate copy of this script in its original form in Story. I did a Save AS to create a new script that I used for the above testing and resulting erorrs.
I hope that you can resolve these issues, but I will only be using the program for sharing capabilities until final release from now on, except to test solutions to this problem if you have them. While I understand this is a beta version, a bug this critical that renders the application useless without a clear means of recoverable locally stored backup ensure that the program is not worth using for editing at this stage.

Update 2:
Thought I found work around, made the problem worse in the end but it still might be useful to some:
Placed AIR app in offline mode, told Story to “Lock Script”.
Opened script in offline mode, text garbled.
While still in the script (authoring or editing mode or whatever) placed AIR app into online mode.
Told Story not to unlock script when prompted.
After a quick load, script appears properly text is no longer garbled.
Export as .txt file.
Export completes buts Story encounters fatal error and has to restart. Detailed report of error:

.txt file is good, backup successful for use in other programs, so I continue to try and force Story to work.
Upon restart original errors persist.
Try above workaround this time saying “No” when prompted to lock scripts when going offline. Workaround is successful again.
Make a test edit of script in online mode.
Use standard “Save” command (not save as)
Close Script, try to reopen receive “Unable to download error”.
Attempt workaround and still receive error in offline mode.
Close and reopen AIR app.
When I place AIR offline and say “Yes” to the lock script prompt I receive the “unable to download” error even though the mode is offline.
When I say “no” script opens with no text or outline and I am not able to type anything, it is all just grey.
Checked the browser app, still receive unable to download error.
That will be all the debugging I’m doing. I was able to recover good versions of both scripts edited in Story using these methods, so I post them for others who may need help. I will however now be going back to Screen Writer.

2 Bugs - Apex 4 - Websheets & Query Builder

Hello,
Just to make someone from the Apex Dev team aware if they aren't already.
I've come across what i think is a bug in Websheets where if you create a data grid or interactive report and then save a Named Copy of the report (so that the select list appears at the top of the report/grid with the saved report names). When you then click on any of the drop down menus like Actions, Manage, or any of the drop down tabs at the top of the page (Page, Data, Annotations, Administration) the background of the menu goes transparent making it really difficult to read the options in the menu if there is some text behind it.
If you then delete the saved report so that you just have the one version, and refresh the page the problem dissapears. I've only found this issue when using Internet Explorer 8 (not sure about earlier versions), as far as I am aware this doesn't happen in Firefox or Chrome.
Also if you log into Apex using Google Chrome and go to the Query Builder under SQL Workshop. If you click and add a table with quite a few columns (10 or more) the scroll bar is missing down the right hand side which means there is no way to select/view all of the columns in that table.

Better make that 3 bugs.
Create a data grid from spreadsheet data. There must be a very small limit on the data you can actually upload using this thing, I just tried to upload 50 rows of data containing 12 columns (not exactly a massive amount). The data is a fictional list of employees, I have pasted the tab delimited data below.
It fails, but rather than giving an error message like "Too Much Data" it just clears out the text area and says "Data Must Be Provided". Also it doesn't seem to say anywhere what the limit on pasted data is.
I'd really appreciate it if somebody could respond to this ticket to let me know that these issues have been acknowledged.

BUG: Apex 4.0.1 form on table with report. Not passing ID correctly

I'm trying to create a form on a table with report using the wizard. I opted for a classic report page.
The edit link on the report page does not work. The link looks like this:

This is clearly wrong because one would expect a value to be passed and not a column name.
Looking at the generated report page I get 60 columns. This seems to be a result of the setting:
no-checked :Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query
checked :Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)
The ID column in the table is mapped to COL01.
Changing the value being passed in the link columns to #COL01# results in the correct behaviour.
My guess is that the option "Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query" is the correct setting for the generated report.

Yes, I guess this is a Bug.
1. When you speciify a WHERE clause in the Wozard it adds extra quotes when appending the WHERE into the Report SELECT.
I think thats the root cause, all others just follow as a consequence.
a. Because the query cannot be parse ( two single quotes) the Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only) is automtacillay set
b. This leads to COL01 to COL60
c. Which is turn leads to the link not working.
I could easily recreate the scenario.
To fix it I did the following
1. Removed the extra quotes from the query
2. Selected Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query and Saved
It started working correct.
I suggest you edit your Thred name add BUG at the begining so that it gets spotted by Oracle folks on the forum.

Bug in LabVIEW 2013 RTETT Download

I've called this in to NI, but am posting it here in case you've downloaded LabVIEW 2013 before they fix the problem.
Downloading the toolkits from ni.com/trylabview usually is a three-step process. First, you download a "downloader", a small program (154 KB) that manages the download of the Installer. When you run the Downloader, it downloads the Installer, usually as an executable ZIP file. The final step is to run the Installer, which first unzips itself into a folder (by default, C:\National Instruments Downloads), then executes the unzipped Setup.exe contained therein.
There is a (usually) consistent naming convention to these various files. For example, the files for LabVIEW Real Time are 2013RealTime-Eng_Downloader, 2013RealTime-Eng (the Installer), and LabVIEW RT (the name of the folder that the Installer "unzips" into). I've downloaded 8 modules, and (with the exception below) they all follow a similar pattern.
The "bug" is in the Real Time Execution Trace Toolkit (RTETT). The Downloader is 2013RTETT_downloader, and it brings in 2013RTETT as the Installer. However, the Installer is set to unzip into LabVIEW RT, the same folder that is used for LabVIEW Real Time. The "fix" is to change the name of the UnZip folder to LabVIEW Real Time Trace Execution Toolkit (this name is analogous to the LabVIEW Desktop Execution Trace Toolkit name for 2013DETT). Alternatively, you can run one installer, rename the folder, run the other, and adjust the folder names to your liking.

I am using Windows 7 (x64), fully patched. As I understand it, the purpose of the Installers is two-fold -- to extract themselves to individual folders (by default in C:\National Instruments Downloads) and then to run their respective Setup executable to actually install themselves.
I have not (yet) installed RTETT, but I have installed LabVIEW RealTime. However, in the interest of time-efficiency, I first did downloads of all of the elements I wanted to install (which included both RealTime and RTETT), ran the Installer, but only the "extractor", then planned to run the actual installations from the folders in the Downloads folder. That's when I discovered that the folder labelled LabVIEW RT did not contain LabVIEW Real Time, but LabVIEW Real Time Execution Trace Toolkit. Thinking I'd forgotten to extract Real-Time, I tried extracting it again, and discovered that it and RTETT "shared" the same folder in NI Downloads. I fixed the problem for myself by manually relabelling the folders so one was LabVIEW RT (for LabVIEW Real Time) and one was LabVIEW Real Time Execution Trace Toolkit. With these distinctive names, I'm much less likely to install "the wrong thing".
I consider this a "bug", as NI clearly (and logically) intended for the different Toolkits to be downloaded into their own folders. I mentioned it here in case others faced a similar confusion of "Where did my download folder go?". Note that if you only download Real Time or only download RTETT, the "reuse" of the folder name won't matter to you.

Custom Apex theme prohobits CSV Download link

Hi,
I'm using Apex 3.2.1.00.12; Database version = 11.1.0.7.0.
A customized theme is used for the application.
For a reports region I added CSV Download link, but it is not showing when i run the page.
Please let me know if any settings to be changed for the page/theme/template.

In the report template (not the region template), there is a substitution string available called #CSV_LINK#
You need this somewhere in the template in order for the link to appear. For exmaple you may have something like this in the 'After Rows' section of the template...
