Bug: c410b - hp photo print gadget 2.0 32bit does not have plain paper in drop down

os: windows 7 ultimate 32bit
hp photo print sidebar gadget does not have plain paper in the paper type drop down and also resets itself to default if you close and re-open the gadget.
also, if i select the 'fax' bit of it... plain paper become available. return to the 'non-fax' bit... it reverts to only the glossy paper types.
also tested the old 2008 dated gadget that i found buried on your ftp server. same behaviour.
64 bit does and works perfectly.
verified on 5 machines. latest 'full' exe used to install. never touched the cd.
same behaviour after removing and re-installing the gadget with the download file from hp web site.

bump. got an email today saying to call HP in the USA because I have the wrong printer settings. they also quoted a c410a even though i told them numerous times a c410b.
number 1 - i'm in the UK and don't want to call USA to be on hold for an hour for some college-drop-out to tell me *i'm* wrong.
number 2 - 5 32bit machines and i went round to a different location and tried 3 more machines there. same.
number 3 - *what* setting? you install the gadget, click the options 'wrench' and the paper types are in there... *everything* else on the printer works... just not the 32 bit gadget - no plain paper available to choose and paper tray keeps reverting to photo tray.
number 4 - it works on several 64 bit machines, with the same settings.
i'm guessing a system-locale issue where the gadget doesn't poll the driver properly for UK paper sizes or something.
any help? anyone?

Either I can't find my printer control panel or it does not have the scan icon
I have an HP Deskjet 3055A J611 Series, which is running on Windows 7.
It is important that I scan several pages and place them all in one file. I understand that this requires that I access the printer control panel. I have accessed the printer through the icon "devices and printers", and the panel that comes up have only the following 4 items: am unable to scan from my printer control panel: HP Printer Assistant; See What's Printing; Set Preferences; Customize your Printer. Perhaps this is not the control panel? If not, then I do not know how to access the control panel. On the other hand, if this is the control panel, then it does not have all of the icons and I do not know why. Could you please help? If I can't get this straightened out, I will need to find another printer that can easily scan documents with several pages onto one file.

I understand you are not seeing the options within the Printer Assistant to change the scan options to allow you to save a multi-page scan as one file.
I would first suggest installing the Full Feature Driver to install the scanning options.

Afterwards, you should see the printer software on your Desktop, open it up, click on Scan a Document or Photo, select the "Advance" option and you should see this box to check mark to select:

Of course, we don't know what Adobe told you to do. It may well be a bug. Yesterday someone posted on another forum with a similar problem as it relates to PSEv.11.

If you have not done so already, I would exhort you to go to the Canon web site to download the latest driver for your machine. The installation disk may have been produced prior to release of PSEv.12. Nothing to lose! -

I used Colormunkie Photo to create an .ICM file for printer calibration. When that failed I tried changing the suffix to .ICC. Under neither circumstance did LR4.2 display the file in the menu to select printer profile. There were several display files with both suffixes but no printer files at all. I tried three times with no success and cannot think of what else to try. The first two were the same. I varied the file creation name suffix in the third. Help will be appreciated. Glad you found your answer, Colormunki is smart enough to figure out the color space for the printer as I found out - But for quality work the latest generation of inkjet printers from Epson and Canon are hard to beat, and compared to a laserjet the quality is like night and day. The other benefit of changing up to an inkjet printer is the choice of papers available which you could not put through a laserjet.
I had a colleague that tried printing on Photoglossy paper through his color laser and it fried the fuser, and HP, while they replaced the fuser unit under warranty, made it very clear that that was a daft thing to do.
So if I were in your position I would go with an inkjet and you will then enjoy the benefits of better quality output, better paper choices and with your Colormunki be able to make custom profiles that will work in LR

How do I sync photos from my pc to my i phone? On the screen it tells me to connect my phone to my pc, which I have done. But then it asks me to click on photos at the top, but I do not have photos anywhere??
You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone. This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab. Whatever is selected will be on your iphone. Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync. -
I am looking for a specific photo in my event folder, it does not show up, yet when I use the search feature the picture is there. Why doesn't it show up in the folder?
What system and iPhoto version are you running?
If your're using iPhoto 9 or later Command (right) - click on the photo in the search window and select Show Event in the Contextual menu.
That will take you to the event where the photo is.

You are posting in the "icloud on my mac" forum, but your profile mentions Windows. If using a mac, you need to have iphoto or aperture installed in order to receive new photos via photo stream. If using windows, try posting in the iCloud on a PC forum. You'll get better help there.

Note - that no internet backup service has been proven to be safe and effective for backing up the iPhoto library - unless you personally have backup uyp an iPhoto library and restored it sucussfuly form one it should not be recommended - a large number of people have lost their photos trying it

Just purchased a office jet 6500A Plus so that I can print from my iPhone and iPad. I can print form my iPhone but my iPad 2 tells me there is no air printer available. Why does one device recognize the air printer but the other device does not?
I have the 6500A without plus and it is with a LAN cable connected with my Router.
First make sure you have the latest printer firmware installed.
Next restart the printer and the Router.
I had the same. Problem but it went away after rebooting the Router.
