Bug: Changing line does not change legend

Hello,
I am almost certain this is a bug but hopefully I've done something wrong. Basically, I am printing a chart in black and white and I want one line to be dashed and the other solid. When I do this in numbers, the key/legend is not updated. Both appear as solid black lines.
Please help

Sorry, Jerry, to give the impression that I was flummoxed. Regardless, I am not sure how you got the idea that I am not "relaxed," unable to "regroup" or capable of using my brain, so please spare me the supercilious remarks. The odd, off putting defensiveness I sometimes encounter in these forums puzzles me. It is as if Numbers is this "revolutionary," "fantastic" program that must constantly be defended from disgruntled excel users that "don't have a clue".

This is a legitimate design query/criticism that might hopefully result in a future change; and it is meaningful to heavy users (like myself) who don't want to have to make custom legends all the time. There should be automatic synchronization between the line styles in the graph and the legend—simple as that. I queried the forums to make sure that I didn't miss anything, as I sometimes do. Thus, a simple, "Your only option is to customize the legend in that case" would have sufficed. I have Badunit to thank for doing just this.
That said, one more thing, Badunit: I am still unable to change the color of the symbols. I am using Numbers '09 and the graphic inspector does not seem to have that option when I select the line or chart.
I'll mark this as answered, and the answer is: *No, paradoxically Numbers does not update the legend when strokes are changed; only when "data symbols" are used.*

Hi Jaap,
Are you sure about your FTP credentials (FTP folder and site URL) that you are using for the upload? Are you able to see the updated files in the remote directory of the FTP server, after you finish uploading the muse file, using an external FTP client like FileZilla?

JSplitPane divider does not change cursor in JDialog

Hello,
I am working with a JSplitPane added to a JDialog and when
I try to move the divider the mouse cursor does not change
to the resize cursor. If I add the JSplitPane to a JFrame it works
ok. Is this a bug???

Tool cursor does not change or does not show up

If you change tools in Photoshop but the cursor does not change (or disappears entirely), this indicates a bug in your video card driver. To fix it, you need to update your video card driver.
Sometimes you can fix it temporarily by turning down the hardware or driver acceleration in the properties panel for the video card.

Cursor does not change during the editing of clips

Hi. I am new to iMovie and am looking for some help. I have imported my clips, put them in my timeline and I want to shorten the clips. According to the movie that is on the Apple web site, when moving my cursor over the line separating my clips, my cursor is to 'change' allowing me to shorten the clip. Well, my cursor does not change. Is there a setting that needs to be corrected. Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Hi konrad - the View Menu DOES have a 'Show Clip Volume Levels" IF you are using iMovie HD!
But according to your Profile you have iMovie 4. Volume control in that version is at the bottom beneath the Timeline Audio tracks.

Selection tool. now it does not change sizes

Just installed the 14.1 Illustrator and realized that the selection tool (black arrow) does not change size of shapes / paths any more. I thought that there would be control in Preferences or View to activate it, but I have not been able to find it. Please help find it.

I am afraid you have come across the Live Rectangle bug which is limited to the MAC versions starting with 10.7 and 10.8, but not 10.9 (Mavericks).
So a switch to Mavericks with a reinstallation might be the way to solve it here and now.
To get round it in each case, it is possible to Expand the Live Rectangles to get normal old fashioned rectangles, or to Pathfinder>Unite, or to use the Scale Tool.
A more permanent way round that is to create normal old fashioned rectangles, after running the free script created by Pawel, see this thread with download link:

My Localroot folder is C:\Gods Plan Web\
The site map layout is C:\Gods Plan Web\Index.htm
The folder for the remote site is /public_html/
Should the local root folder mirror the remote site, i.e./public_html/
if this is so, what should I put into the
(a) Local Root Folder box?
(b) site map layout box?
The FTP is performing well other than changing the intended file.

You should be uploading only the contents of your local root to the public_html folder (remote root).
The index.html you use as your site's home page needs to be in your site root. If you look at your Files window in DW, you should have something like the following...
Site - Whatever you named your site
     index.html
     images
     pages
          page1.html
          page2.html
If you have any folder between Site - and the index.html page, like...
Site - Whatever you named your site
     mywebsite
          index.html
It will upload to the public_html while still in that folder, so to find your page online, you would need to type something like...
www.mydomain.com/mywebsite
public_html should NOT appear within your local files and if it existed there, would cause a redundancy if uploaded. You would need to type www.yourdomain.com/public_html to see the uploaded pages.
If you could post a screen shot of your expanded Files window while connected to the server (just connect and click the Expand button in Files, don't drill down into any of the directories), we may be able to see the issue.

If the PDF that you converted already has searchable text, please try disabling OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel. (If the PDF was created from a scanned document and doesn't already have searchable text, disabling OCR isn't a great option, as the text won't be searchable/editable in the converted Word doc.)

I have ran the Disk usage by Top Tables report and Identified couple of tables with unwanted data for last 5 years. I have deleted the data for the first 3 years and then ran the Disk usage by Top Tables report again. When I compared the report before
and after the data deletion, I have noticed certain facts which is not matching with what I know or learned from experts like you. The following are the points where I am looking for clarification:
1.Reserved (KB) has been reduced. I was expecting the data Reserved (KB) will remain the same after the data deletion.
2. The Data(KB) and Indexes(KB) fields have been reduced as expected. The Unused(KB) field have been increased as expected.
I was expecting the total of Data(KB) and Indexes(KB) field space gained will be equal to the Unused(KB) field gained after deleting the data. But that is not the case. When I deducted(subtracted) the difference in the Reserved(KB)(Difference before
and after data deletion) field from the Total of space gained from the data deletion is equal to the Unused(KB) gained field value.
I am not a SQL expert and not questioning but trying to understand whether we really gain space by deleting data from the tables. Also keen to get the concepts right, but my testing by deleting some records confused me.

Try unmounting the volume on your iMac using Disk Utility. Then mount it again. You may need to reboot the laptop or relaunch its Finder process (using the Force Quit window) after remounting the drive on your iMac. Remember that no process may be accessing any files on the drive you plan to unmount, or the unmount will fail. Unmounting and remounting an external drive on my iMac made it become visible on my MacBook Pro after it had disappeared.

Calendar (not called iCal anymore) does not include that capability any longer, apparently. What you have to do now is go to Automator and create a Calendar Alert action. You can add a Run AppleScript object to the action and paste in your script there, then when you save it, it will become available as a choice in the alert menu in Calendar.

Why the mouse pointer in Logic Pro does not change shape during work in OSX 10.9.1?

I've a MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch Late 2013 and I'm using two external displays. One connected to to the HDMI port (display 1) the other to thunderbolt (display 2). The MacBook display is closed. I’m working with Logic Pro 9.1.8 (32bit) with OSX 10.9.1
Why the mouse pointer in Logic Pro does not change shape during work???
It was already difficult with OSX 10.9 but now after upgrading to 10.9.1 it's game over!
At least before I could select which display use Logic Pro to have all the shape functions of the pointer. Not in both displays, so to be forced to edit in ONLY ONE of the two displays using this workaround: (right click on Logic icon in Dock: Option --> Desktop on Display 1). Now or I select “Option --> All Desktops” or does not work. However, by selecting all displays you say goodbye to Mission Control. This can’t be a solution!!!
The amazing thing is that Nuendo has no problem while Logic Pro, Apple's native software, it can't!
With Nuendo it’s indifferent in which display you are working, the shape of the mouse pointer changes shape depending on the requirement in both displays.
This thing drives me crazy!

But this aren't really solutions but workarounds. Use Logic in all desktops makes Mission Control useless!!

I installed all over again by formatting as suggested by the genes of pro application support. Each plug-in, each virtual instrument, a job that lasted 3 days. And as suggested for each new plug-in I proceeded to check the proper functioning of Logic Pro and did each time a back up with Time Machine.
The Result:
Logic works as it should ONLY on the primary monitor and ONLY on the first desktop.
BUT
Reason and Nuendo dont' have this issue !!
I believe that Apple developers are thinking only to mobile phones and things like messages or face time.
And that's not all!
After a few weeks, perhaps by installing a version of Adobe Acrobat, I say maybe because I'm not sure, logic has stopped working properly. Again problems with the mouse pointer.
Luckily I had a back up! But now I'm terrified to install new programs. Thanks Apple!

i noticed that when we use a tabSet in a page fragment , selecting tabs does not change the current URL ,
is it a correct manner ? I think when we select a tab and it opens another page the url should change.
