Bug? Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence and spanish keyboard

Hello everybody,
because of a customer request I checked Jabber Video with spanish keyboard configured (traditional sort) an figured out, that with this configuration the Jabber Client (tested with 4.2, 4.6 and 4.8.8) doesn't accept the pound key when it is pressed on the keyboard. In Word for example the pound key works as expected. At the moment I told the customer to use the "onboard" keyboard in the Jabber Video client, but I think it is a bug (don't know if it's a bug in Jabber Video or Windows 7). Has anyone experienced the same? Maybe this will be fixed in future?
Regards, Daniel

You can have both "free" and "enterprise" versions installed on a Mac.
If you already have "enterprise" version installed on a PC, and you install the "free" version, the registry settings will be changed and server setting locked to
https://sjc1-movi-pr-bootproxy-vip.ciscojabbervideo.com/endpoint/configuration
when you install the "free" version, so ,no, you can't have both versions installed on the same PC.
You can change the registry settings so it's not locked to the Cisco server, but then you might as well just have the "enterprise" version installed and just edit the internal server settings to use the above URL if you want to make it behave as the "free" version.
There's no difference, clientwise, between the two, the server settings determines which server it will register with, and provisioning settings will change accordingly.

  • Is it possible to embed Jabber Video for Telepresence in a webpage?

Hi, I wanted to ask whether it is possible to incorporate Jabber Video for Telepresence in a webpage so that (registered) users can join or make a call on a website? Or is it only possible to download the application to a PC and run it from there? Thanks!

That's correct - it is in no way possible to incorporate Jabber Video for Telepresence directly into a web browser, the client must be downloaded and installed on the PC/Mac and/or iPad.

  • Unable to install Cisco Jabber Video in Windows 8

When I attempt to install Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence (version 4.6 and 4.7) in Windows 8, I get the following error message:
The error says: "The wizard was interrupted before Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence could be completely installed. Your system has not be modified. To complete Installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the wizard."
The error occurs for 4.6 and 4.7. What can be done to resolve this issue?

    Hi Robert,
Is Windows 8 on a Surface Tablet or desktop/laptop?
If Tablet, this platform is not supported.  No ETA on when a version will be released to support this.
If desktop/laptop, then you need to update your video driver by visiting the website of the manufacturer, i.e. Intel, nVidia, ATI, etc. The latest video driver cannot be obtained by using the Microsoft update tool.  These drivers are usually generic and/or not the latest.
Once installed, this error should go away.
If installed and you still get the error, then this means your video card is unsupported and you will not be able to use this software.

  • Cisco Jabber Video 4.4 sound delay

    Hello!
I have a client that is running Cisco Jabber Video 4.4 and they have problems with the sound.
It's good quality sound, but there is about 3-5 seconds delay when they talk.
Do you have any tips what they can do about this?

Check the machine to see how much CPU is used.  If high, the machine can't handle the call.   If machine is good, check network connection with videotest.webex.com.  If good, make a call, and while in the call, mouse over the 'i" information icon and look at the stats. See if the video and audio have high packet loss, FEC errors, or high jitter. If so, their connection to the internet is not clean and they will have issues.

  • MBA (mid 2013) and Cisco Jabber Video client not recognising any camera

The Cisco Jabber Video client is not recognising the internal Facetime HD camera nor the external USB Logitech Webcam C920.
This was not working from the beginning. Cisco is aware of this issue and promised to deliver a fix in the next release of their software.
After installing the 10.8.5 Update from App Store and the 10.8.5 Supplemental update the Cisco client was able to recognize the external camera.
After that I followed a hint to install the Combo update this should enable Skype to recognise the Facetime HD camera. After installing the Combo update Skype was able to recognize the internal and external camera (by the way the quality of preview video using Facetime HD was brilliant and much better than the internal camera of a MBA from 2012). BUT after that update the Cisco client was no longer recognising a camera.
I run a recovery installation of 10.8.4 - but the result was again a 10.8.5. If I try now to run a recovery install I only get a recovery of version 10.8.5 offered.
I did a SMC reset, a parameter RAM reset, tried to start in saved mode but nothing helped.
Any other ideas how to get a least an external camera working again with Cisco Jabber Video?

Similar problem here. I have a Logitech C615 camera/microphone plugged into my MAC mini running OSX 10.9.3. Today, JABBER could not find the camera (although it found the microphone?). I was running 4.5.7 and so downloaded v4.8.6 and reinstalled: no camera. I also downloaded the cloud version: no camera.
I was not running either Vidyo or Polycom RealPresence at the same time as JABBER
But, when I did run these apps, my camera & microphone both work.
    Suggestions?

  • Directory Caching issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows

    Hi ,
I am facing cache issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows. If I do any change related to modification or deletion of contacts in Active Directory/ Callmanager, it does not reflect in the Jabber. Because jabber takes the contacts from the locally stored cache file in the Windows system.
Every time I have to remove the cache file to overcome this issue, practically it's not possible to do the same with all the Widows users. As, if any employee leaves the company and still I can see his contact appears in the "Cisco Jabber client". I have not seen this issue with Android/Apple iOS.
Is there any automated way to remove the cache file?
Here is the detail of CUCM,Presence and Jabber.
    CUCM version: 9.1.x
    Presence          : 9.1.X
    Jabber              : 10.5 and 10.6

    Hello
On our environment we had to install a dedicated Microsoft Certificate Authority "just for Cisco Jabber usage" to house the
    Network Device Enrollment Service.
Our certificate for the CUPS were generated on this Certification Authority too.
I discussed this certificate matter with my colleagues this afternoon and nobody seems to remember how these certificates were deployed into the
Enterprise Trust store for the users.
But I think they asked all 400 users to accept the 3 certificates by answering "yes" to the popup instead of using a script deployed by GPO...
I wish you success with that deployment and really hope you have a technical partner that *Knows* this subject.
Our partner left us alone with that unfortunately.
    Florent
EDIT: If the "Certutil script method" works, please let me know. This could be useful in our own deployment.

  • Cisco Jabber Video 4.7.4 thinks 4.6.3 is the "latest"

When users log in with Cisco Jabber Video 4.7.4 (Mac), a message appears asking them to "update" to 4.6.3.
    Which is nonsense.

Are you sure your TMS is configured properly with the correct version of Jabber for Mac set in the Provisioning Directory?  I believe this OS X Software Version setting defines the current version the TMS expects to be used.

  • How can I add new content in iDVD to a DVD-RW disc which has ample remaining free space? After preparing the new video for burning and clicking on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject.

How can I add new content in iDVD to a DVD-RW disc with a video previously successfully recorded on it? (The disc has ample remaining free space.)
After preparing the new video for burning and clicking in the File menu on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject. My assumption has been that iDVD would automatically find the free space and continue with the new recording from there. I'd be grateful if anyone can shine light on this.

There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk.

  • Cisco Jabber Video Crashes anonymously..

    Hi All,
Jabber video software  crashed while doing the Far-end Camera Control. This was so strange and it forced me to start the application again.
please follow the below mentioned procedure to reproduce the same issue.
Make a point to point video call from your jabber video.
Click on Far-end camera control button and keep the option available there.
Ask the remote guy to press pause on their side.
There will not be any video coming from remote endpoint but the Far-end camera control option will remain there, now if you try to control the remote camera will give you an error.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Cisco Jabber Video 4.4 - how to disable "remember me" check box.

    Hi All
    =Situation=
We are authenticating the Jabber Video users againts the MS Active Directory.
If in Jabber Video the "remember me" check box is ticket and a user changes the password in MS Active Directory, after few Jabber Video login attempts the account will be locked in MS Active Directory.
    =Question=
Is this a known behavior ?
    A) What would you suggest as remedy
    B) Is there possibility to disable the "remember me" check box.
    C) To save system resources - are there options as well to disable the check boxes in Sign-in Settings "Start Jabber Video wehn I log on to my computer" & "Sign in automatically".
Unfortunately this will be a show stopper, If I am not able to fix this issue.
I would appreciate any kind of feedback.
    Thanks in Advanced

Looks like you're using on-prem JabberVideo (Movi) ? - whereas this particular forum is for the "free" version hosted by Cisco.
You've got a better chance of getting a reply by posting the question in the below thread in the Telepresence forum, the last post might be of interest too.

    Hello,
Is the connect over 3G enabled on your iPhone? Try this.
Btw, what have you put as device ID on your iPhone? the MAC address?
To my knowledge, the device ID is TCTXXX for CUCM, there is no info related on how to add it for CME 8.6

  • Jabber Video for Mac 4.6 does not find iSight camera

    Hello.
I recent purchased a new Mcbook Air (MacBoorAir6,2) and was hoping to use the new built in HD camera with Jabber Video. Except JV doesnt seem to find the camera in prferences. I assume that since this MBA has only been out for a week that it's just a matter of Cisco updating the JV client to support the camera? Or is there something I need to do to the OS so JV will be able to use the camera?
