BUG: Controller Assignment window bugs

a bug:
I have a few fader assignments
I have no fader 3 assignment
I command-L, move an instrument param, move fader 3
I get "fader is already assigned: keep both, reassign or cancel ?"
keep both: I now have THREE assignments to fader 3
Massive Macro 3 ( I never touched it )
and two TpDelay: feedback (the one I was trying to map)
my Fader assignment 4 has been deleted or changed into one of the fader 3 assignments.
Its possible in the preceding case that there was already an assignment to the same target parameter. perhaps that was fader 4, but it got mapped to 3 along with the new assignment.
If I did have a previously existing fader 3 assignment and I select cancel:
the old 3 and the new one I was assigning are both deleted.
reassign: also did not work, but I don't remember what it did.
These do not happen this way all the time, its not easily repeatable, and I can't tell you what the condition was that caused it to do this. But there are bugs in there related to that dialog. Probably I'm seeing the end result of another deeper data corruption.
Deleting modes and assignments can sometimes result in crashes. I had quite a few, probably something in the song itself. Badly stored data etc.

Definitely. I just figured I would post about it (search didn't find any old posts about it).
It has the feel of an unfinished project. I'm sure that is what happened. I doubt they will try to fix that area in any Logic update. It needs to be reworked entirely.

  • Controller Assignment - Bug

I have two issues with the Controller Assignment window. It has only a few manual assignments, the QuickAccess and a few MIDI faders from my PC1600 MIDI controller.
    1) Most of the time when I get a Logic crash, it wipes out all the assignments in the Controller Assignment window. After a reboot the whole page is blank and everything is gone. It looks like the Logic crash corrupts the "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" file where the information is stored.
    2) Now a have a new issue. I can't make any new assignments in that window. When I click the "Learn Mode" button the parameters above will show up and disappear right away. Seems like the Button doesn't stick. If I erase Logic's preference file "com.apple.logic.pro.plist" then it will work again. I'm not ready to toss my preference file. Besides redoing all the settings in the Preference Settings window, I would loose my custom Color palette and all the Favorite checkboxes in the Apple Loop Browser. (To store those information in the preference file is a stupid idea in the first place,. Even I sent Apple lots of feedback since L7, it is still there and therefor completely useless for exactly that reason.)
Does anybody have the same problem or maybe a solution regarding the Controller Assignment?

I'm sorry to say that i have a mackie logic control and 8 wiped out the hardware chip. i know everyone say's software can't effect hardware but we now know it's true. I don't have a solution but apple doesn't know how to fix it either. I have had so many problems with 8 that Apple gave me a new computer because it corrupted my system software. The logic techs i spoke with suggested backing down to 7.10.11 and tiger. when i had my studio running on 7 everything worked perfectly. supposedly there are a lot of people out there that have no problems with 8 but there are some very serious issues, I suggest you call the support guys for your board and apple for 8. I spent the last 8 weeks trouble shooting one thing or another. Be careful some things created more problems. I wish you luck and I'm sorry I couldn't help more. Just so you know I erased my hard drive twice and the second time i went one at a time to try and figure if maybe something else was effecting everything.
guess what the 3rd item was 8 and everything went down hill again. finally apple replaced the computer and i'm definitely not using 8. good luck

  • Sculpture automation & Controller assignment issues

    Hey guys,
I have an instance on Sculpture in a project i am working on. Everything is fine until the point where i try to manually write some automation in the arrange window. As soon as I select the parameter i want to change (LFO1 rate in this case) the sound of sculpture gets all weird and sounds nothing like the one before.
Is this some kind of bug? has anyone encountered this?
I also have another question and as im posting this anyway ill just put it here.
Im trying to set up a nanoKontrol2. Ctrl+k, created several modes (fader, es2, ultrabeat etc). I've assigned several buttons to switch between the modes but the assigned functions wont operate until i also choose that particular instrument in the arrange window.
Is there a way around this? i.e switch bet modes and actually affect that instrument without having to use a mouse to choose it?
Im also having problems with the fader mappings when trying to control volume levels of multi output instruments exs24, ultrabeat. When i move a fader of the overall instrument only the volume of one (unassigned) fader of lets say output 3-4 of that instrument will get affected. Im i doing something wrong?
    Cheers

I'm not sure if this will help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvBmsMB2XSQ&feature=PlayList&p=5B14BDD35A022ED3&i ndex=45
I spent a whole day following the above advice, assigning controls for my M-Audio keyrig 25 to 18 different logic native plugins (Channel EQ, Guitar Amp Pro, Tape Delay, etc etc). And then assigning'no-mode mode change' (if you follow me) to different letters on my 'caps lock keyboard'. This worked great yesterday. Now today it's all flaky: The caps lock keyboard doesn't change modes anymore, and only one of the assignment 'maps' seems to work. (Even making sure all target plug ins were on the same SELECTED track, and the plugin in question had 'focus' by clicking on it). Does anyone know if there's a known issue with controller assignment recall in Logic Pro (8)?

  • Is anyone here fluent in the Controller Assignments window?

I have a Mackie C4 Pro and I built a rather complex environment layer of virtual sliders (that works) for controlling parameters of an external synth not supported by the C4.
I would like to control all the knobs in this particular environment via the C4...however, Logic's implementation of the C4's driver combined with the Controller Assignments window is cryptic to say the least. Despite reading the manual, it still makes little sense as to why things are not working.
As it stands, the mackie C4 has about 50 modes within a particular zone, most of which are usable with the exception of 8 "user" modes.
These 8 user modes are selectable from the C4 itself yet contain no control assignments. Attempting to create control assignments yields no effect on the C4. When I try to apply even a label to my newly attempted controller assignments, the label field resets itself to blank when I switch between modes. As well, the parameter field remains ghosted and uneditable.
Right now all I am trying to do is assign mod wheel control to one of the v-pots under the user mode #1. So far it seems to be resisting any customization.
here is a screen shot of my controller assignments window:

its kind of ironic that there's no help available through apple's website for a rather elaborate implementation in their own software...especially when considering Apple wrote the driver for the C4

  • Logic crashes on entering 'controller assignments' window

Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. When I want to enter the controller assignments window in the preferences menu, Logic Pro 7.1 crashes, telling me it will save the song I'm working on. I want to assign controllers to use my Novation ReMOTE SL25 for controlling various Audio instruments.
Any ideas about how to solve this?
    Thanks in advance!

  • ¿Is it possible to upgrade from SCCM 2012 a domain controller in Windows Server 2008 R2 TO 2012 R2?

    Hi all.
I want to know if is it possible to upgrade a domain controller from Windows Server 2008 r2 to 2012 r2 installing from SCCM 2012.
    Thanks.
    Regards.

    Hi all.
I want to know if is it possible to upgrade a domain controller from Windows Server 2008 r2 to 2012 r2 installing from SCCM 2012.
    Thanks.
    Regards.
Anything is possible if you can script it. You could create a task sequence to do the following (with scripts):
    1. Demote 2008R2 DC to member server
    2. Remove 2008R2 member server from domain
    3. Build new 2012R2 member server and join to domain
    4. Promote 2012R2 member server to DC
You can do this. However, why would you? Just because you can doesn't mean you should. In my opinion it's more trouble and testing than it's worth. How many times would you need to do this?

I have uninstalled ADDC but i still can't login on SQL server 2008r2.
please help me. it  is very very disaster!
I think is loss account SQL server 2008r2!

    Hello,
I stronly recommend you post the detail error message to us while you try to connect to SQL Server instance, it's useful for us to do further investigation.
Microsoft recommends that you do not install SQL Server 2008 R2 on a domain controller, there are some limitations:
You cannot run SQL Server services on a domain controller under a local service account or a network service account.
After SQL Server is installed on a computer, you cannot change the computer from a domain member to a domain controller. You must uninstall SQL Server before you change the host computer to a domain controller.
After SQL Server is installed on a computer, you cannot change the computer from a domain controller to a domain member. You must uninstall SQL Server before you change the host computer to a domain member.
SQL Server failover cluster instances are not supported where cluster nodes are domain controllers.
SQL Server Setup cannot create security groups or provision SQL Server service accounts on a read-only domain controller. In this scenario, Setup will fail.
On Windows Server 2003, SQL Server services can run under a domain account or a local system account.
So, I would suggest you try to open up Windows Services list and changed the account for SQL Server service.

  • Trouble Connecting a Wireless Xbox 360 Controller to Windows 8.1 via the Play & Charge Kit

I've been trying to connect a standard black wireless Xbox 360 controller to my PC, a Dell Inspiron 17R Special Edition (what makes it special is a mystery to me, but that's the name) with the standard Play & Charge Kit.
I downloaded the drivers from Microsoft's website <http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-wireless-controller-for-windows>. Since there was no version for Windows 8.1, I downloaded the version for windows 7 (64-bit) and ran the installer
in compatibility mode. The installer ran just fine, and I was able to run joy.cpl with no trouble. The trouble was, my controller doesn't show up in the list of game controllers, which is blank.
Under Devices and Printers, an item named "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play and Charge Kit" appears in the "Unspecified" category. When I look at the properties of this device, there are only two tabs, "General" and "Hardware".
Under the "Hardware" tab, there is a device also named"Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play and Charge Kit" whose properties have all the proper drivers and suchlike.
    Help!

    Uninstall all the driver.
Download and install the latest driver,or,you may try the same to get via Windows Update.

  • ABC Analysis [Update Item Assignment Window]

    Hello Friends
I am working on Inventory Cycle count in EBS R12. I am facing a problem.
I create an ABC Analysis for ##FGI sub inventory in M1 Organization on Vision Instance. Then i checked 22 items in my
On-Hand Availability Window. But when i checked Update Item Assignment window, it shows me 20 items. can you please tell me that
where my rest of 2 items are missing ? What are the reason or what organization parameter or what item attribute missing ? Do i need to do any special setup for rest of those two items?
Can you please please further told me that what is the back end process of Compiling ABC analysis ?
    Best Regards

    Hi,
Did you tried to re-initialize your ABC ..
I think it can be an issue that you might have defined 2 items later after defining all your ABC compile ,assignments etc.
And since your ABC compile is working on previous item it might not pick these newly defined items.
    Thanks

Is it possible to assign window height and width programatically?? ie through editor in SAP scripts.

    Hi
    Yes you can
    POSITION WINDOW
SIZE WIDTH '160' MM HEIGHT '140' MM
    BOX FRAME 10 TW
    Box
BOX HEIGHT '11' MM WIDTH '160' MM FRAME 10 TW INTENSITY 35
    linessssssss
BOX XPOS '20' MM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '140' MM FRAME 10 TW
BOX XPOS '45' MM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '140' MM FRAME 10 TW
BOX XPOS '80' MM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '140' MM FRAME 10 TW
BOX XPOS '120' MM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '140' MM FRAME 10 TW
Boxes, Lines, Shading: BOX, POSITION, SIZE
Use the BOX, POSITION, and SIZE commands for drawing boxes, lines, and shading to print particular windows within a form or passages of text within a window in a frame or with shading.
The SAP printer drivers that are based on page-oriented printers (the HP LaserJet driver HPL2, the Postscript driver POST, the Kyocera Prescribe driver PRES) employ these commands when printing. Line printers and page-oriented printers not supported in the standard ignore these commands. You can view the resulting printer output in the SAPscript print preview.
    Syntax:
/: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
/: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
/: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    BOX Command
    Syntax
/: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
Effect: draws a box of the specified size at the specified position.
Parameters: For each of XPOS, YPOS, WIDTH, HEIGHT, and FRAME, you must specify both a measurement and a unit of measurement. Specify the INTENSITY parameter as a percentage between 0 and 100.
    XPOS, YPOS
Upper left corner of the box, relative to the values of the POSITION command.
Default: Values specified in the POSITION command.
The following calculation is performed internally to determine the absolute output position of a box on the page:
    X(abs) = XORIGIN + XPOS
    Y(abs) = YORIGIN + YPOS
    WIDTH
Width of the box. Default: WIDTH value of the SIZE command.
    HEIGHT
Height of the box. Default: HEIGHT value of the SIZE command.
    FRAME
    Thickness of frame.
    Default: 0 (no frame).
    INTENSITY
Grayscale of box contents as %.
    Default: 100 (full black)
Measurements: You must specify decimal numbers as literal values (like ABAP numeric constants) by enclosing them in inverted commas. Use the period as the decimal point character. See also the examples listed below.
Units of measurement: The following units of measurement may be used:
    TW (twip)
    PT (point)
    IN (inch)
    MM (millimeter)
    CM (centimeter)
    LN (line)
    CH (character).
    The following conversion factors apply:
    1 TW = 1/20 PT
    1 PT = 1/72 IN
    1 IN = 2.54 CM
    1 CM = 10 MM
1 CH = height of a character relative to the CPI specification in the form header
1 LN = height of a line relative to the LPI specification in the form header
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
Draws a frame around the current window with a frame thickness of 10 TW (= 0.5 PT).
    /: BOX INTENSITY 10
Fills the window background with shading having a gray scale of 10 %.
/: BOX HEIGHT 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a horizontal line across the complete top edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a vertical line along the complete height of the left hand edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT 1 CM FRAME 10 TW INTENSITY 15
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '10.0' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '13.5' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
Draws two rectangles and two lines to construct a table of three columns with a highlighted heading section.
    POSITION Command
    Syntax
/: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the origin for the coordinate system used by the XPOS and YPOS parameters of the BOX command. When a window is first started, the POSITION value is set to refer to the upper left corner of the window (default setting).
Parameters: If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value, in other words, as a value that specifies an offset from the upper left corner of the output page. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value. If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to this parameter.
    XORIGIN, YORIGIN
    Origin of the coordinate system.
    WINDOW
Sets the values for the left and upper edges to match those of the current window (default setting).
    PAGE
Sets the values for the left and upper edges to match those of the current output page (XORIGIN = 0 cm, YORIGIN = 0 cm).
    /: POSITION WINDOW
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to the upper left corner of the window.
/: POSITION XORIGIN 2 CM YORIGIN '2.5 CM'
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to a point 2 cm from the left edge and 2.5 cm from the upper edge of the output page.
/: POSITION XORIGIN '-1.5' CM YORIGIN -1 CM
Shifts the origin for the coordinates 1.5 cm to the left and 1 cm up.
    SIZE Command
    Syntax
/: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the values of the WIDTH and HEIGHT parameters used in the BOX command. When a window is first started, the SIZE value is set to the same values as the window itself (default setting).
Parameters: If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to the current value of this parameter. If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value.
    WIDTH, HEIGHT
Dimensions of the rectangle or line.
    WINDOW
Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current window (default setting).
    PAGE
Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current output page.
    /: SIZE WINDOW
Sets WIDTH and HEIGHT to the current window dimensions.
/: SIZE WIDTH '3.5' CM HEIGHT '7.6' CM
Sets WIDTH to 3.5 cm and HEIGHT to 7.6 cm.
    /: POSITION WINDOW
/: POSITION XORIGIN -20 TW YORIGIN -20 TW
/: SIZE WIDTH +40 TW HEIGHT +40 TW
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
A frame is added to the current window. The edges of the frame extend beyond the edges of the window itself, so as to avoid obscuring the leading and trailing text characters.

  • Organization Field in assignment window

    Hi
Is there a way to capture the department of an employee in the assignment window apart from the descriptive flexible.Actually the employee information is entered up to unit level in the system. Thus the organization field is used to attach the actual department where the employee is,whether its section/unit or department. In case if a section is attached for an employee is there a way in assignment window where we can specify the department for this section.
    Thank you

There is no way to capture the department of an employee in the assignment window except DFF.
But i am not able understand it why you want to capture this.
You can make Organization with Different Type like (Department, Section, Unit or other) and to those organization you can assign employee.
On Assigning it automatically to assign to either department or section.
    Hope it help you.
    Thanks

  • Looking for Case studies on SAP's Adaptive Computing Controller for Windows

    Hi,
I have been asked to do some analysis to find out about Organizations which have successfully
implemented SAP's Adaptive computing controller on Windows Platform.
I am interested about any case studies that are available. I had in fact searched a lot about for
case studies available in SAP site or elsewhere but could not locate it. (due to my poor searching skills)
Appreciate if someone help me find out. Also request information about people who have
    successfully implemented the same.
    Best Regards,
    Raghunahth L

I am also keen to see some documents. I guess SAP generally remains neutral about the platform and database as choice will be different for each bussiness.
May best best place to contact for this info is Marketing department @ Microsoft as they will be much keen in collecting statistics and information from their partners who are common with SAP implementation partners.
