Bug in Code View font spacing - very annoying...

Hello,
I encounter a really annoying bug in the last version of Dreamweaver CC. The font in Code View is too spaced in the new version...
See below for screenshots from CS6 and CC to see the difference.
I'm using the font Courier New 9pt in both version...
Please advise.
Screenshots.

Dreamweaver CC - Notice the font spacing

I've managed to change the font to "Source Code Pro" in the Regeditor here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC\Font Preferences.
Style, the font is not as good as it was with Courier New... And Courier New is not working... I'm looking to have a normal Courier New in CC... Or at least anothe similar font... Not light as Source Code Pro...
Thanks

  • Dreamweaver code view letter spacing issue

    Good Morning at all,
This morning when i've started DreamWeaver i've seen something change.
As you can see in the picture below in the code view, the letters spacing is became really bigger than the normal.
In the picture below i've done a piece of code with my dreamweaver in the top and in the bottom with one of my friend.
When i try to change the font from the preferences menu (for example Verdana) the problem seems to solve but when i change again to Courrier New the problem return.
    What can i do?
For me it is really frustrating to work with this problem and I do not understand why it bothers me so much,
    Thanks for the help guyes!
    Manuel.

To change code formatting, go to Edit > Preferences > Code > Indent.  Then use Command > Apply Source Formatting.

  • DW Code View font different for one .aspx than all others???

    Mornin' All!
I can't for the life of me figure out why the font in this
one .aspx (welcome.aspx) is different than all other files on this
site. When I go EDIT > PREFERENCES > FONTS here is what is
shown when welcome.aspx is the file currently opened:
    Font Settings: Japanese
Code View: MS Gothic Size: 10pt (small)
I tried changing this from "Japanese" to Western European,
but after I click OK nothing happens, and when I go back in to Font
    Preferences it's back to Japanese.
Welcome2.aspx and all other pages show these settings: (this
is how the code view has looked on ALL pages until today)
    Font Setting: Western European
Code View: Courier New Size: 9pt
What do I need to do to get welcome.aspx to let go of the
    Japanese font settings?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ron

  • Setting up prefs for code view fonts and sizes

    using cs5
i copied some pages in from another computer... the fonts and sizes in code view are too small.
in prefs - fonts - I made them bigger - then said apply source formatting
but they don't always seem to stick - maybe the next day they are small again
Q: how do I get font pref settings to work for all sites all the time?
    thanks in advance - dave

Such settings are not carried in from external pages, they are part of your preferences.  In other words, opening a page could not change your existing preferences.

  • Code View Font Size Won't Stick

I changed the font size that gets displayed in code view. I
get the new font size for new documents, but older documents keep
    the older (smaller) font size.
I tried recreating these documents, and that doesn't help.
    Using CS4 on a Mac w/ Leopard.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

Any ideas on this? No idea how to fix...

  • Code view fonts screwy...

Using CS3 (9.0 build 3481) on Windows XP Pro.
    I goto EDIT > PREFERENCES > FONTS
I changed all fonts to "LUCIDA SANS TYPEWRITER" and "10 PT (SMALL)"
I press OK, but only some of my pages use the font.  I've closed and restarted DW, but still, like my application.cfc page will use the font, but an authentication.cfc file uses some other font.

I think I remember this happening to me too.
Say for example you have Western European char set on some pages and Unicode char set on other pages, you'll need to set your font choices for both languages.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why won't Dreamweaver code view allow me to select from all of my system fonts?

I am trying to change the font for my code view in Dreamweaver CC.  However, it does not let me choose from a list of all fonts installed on my computer...it just gives me about 50 or so random fonts (some of them glyph fonts which are completely useless in this scenario).  It doesn't even include basics like Courier.  I had previously been using CS4, and it allowed me to choose any font I wanted.  Any ideas?

I've just checked Dreamweaver CC on my MacBook Air. I don't know whether it lists every single font on my machine, but the list was very long. It certainly wasn't just a short, random list. Are you trying to change the Code view font in the right place?

  • Code View automatic font re-size?

I have been using DW8 on a Mac, 10.3, and there is this lttle
thing that keeps bugging me, gently but persistently:
when working in Code View, if the document I am editing
starts to get a little large, the Code View display's font
automatically resizes (a bit smaller) without regard for the
    display settings in Preferences.
I searched a bit through the forums and by googling, but I
    couldn't see much about this.
Again, it's no big deal, but I was wondering if this was
typical behavior and, mostly, if there was any way to disengage it?
It's a mildly annoying aspect of an otherwise great product I use
    continuously.
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

In your preferences, or Cmd/Control U.
It's under Fonts category for the size, and under the Code
Coloring category for changing what colors are for what keywords
    etc.

  • ClearType makes fonts in Dreamweaver code view hard to read

I'm using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 with Windows Vista Business. As
you know, Vista has a feature called "ClearType," which is supposed
to help smooth out the on-screen fonts. It normally does do this,
but for some reason, in Dreamweaver code view, some of the edges of
fonts are cut off, making it very difficult to read at times. See
    pic here:
    http://www.klife.com/fontscutoff.jpg
I've tried changing the display fonts within Dreamweaver
(from Courier New to Arial, etc.), but it doesn't help. Actually,
Arial is worse. But here's what fixes it: turning off ClearType. I
haven't noticed ClearType messing any fonts up in programs except
for Dreamweaver. Why is DW doing this and is there anything I can
do to get ClearType to work with it?

You might want to try Clear Type Tuner. It is a Microsoft
    tool to let you
adjust your clear type settings to your liking. It was
    written for XP. I'm
not sure if they have a Vista version out yet, but the XP
    version might
    work.

Here is an online version, which I have not tried.

  • I think there is a very annoying bug after the latest update of firefox, can I talk to someone, or chat with someone so I can get rid of it

Since the latest auto update of my firefox browser I am experiencing strange issues. Every evening when I stop working, I close my browser (closing all the tabs that I am working on and in the morning, I restore the session) . For many years everything worked just fine ... untill after the last auto update of the firefox browser .. all of a sudden a got 302 errors ( a blank page with the description 302 and I believe "page moved here" or something to that extend ... i try to click the link and get nowhere.
I first noticed it on a few wordpress pages (backend ) that I was working on and which were restored from the previous day ...
thinking it was a server error, since we have several vps and dedicated servers .. i contacted the company who hosts our servers ..
they looked into it and apparently .. there were no issues on the server side and neither on that particular computer ... but our server hosts told us .. that it is probably browser related and seemed to have something to with a bug with the cache of the browser
we didn't know what to do .. it was very annoying .. but at that point it only happened once on a hew pages .. so we decided to see what happened the next time
Next time we did not restore a session with wordpress pages .. but with the google search engine open and on a few other tabs logged into social media .... and as was saidn by our server hosts it was indeed not related to work that we did on pages on our servers ... since that time even the google search engine homepage ... showed us ... moved here
Can you pease look into it and fix this .. we are doing the same thing as many years on the same computer also a few years .. so it is not anything we do wrong either .. it is most definitely browser related
so can you please fix it asap .. since when we work on wordpress .. that is not the only thing that goes wrong .. we also have difficulty uploading updates ... when updating sometimes after the update of any particular change on a wordpress page is done ... we are also redirected to a blank page .. so the updated page does not want to load ... in that case we have use our back button ...
which sends us back to the right page ... but with the old data on it ... then we have to refresh that page .. and only then we see the page updated ... so it seems that there is an issue in both direction with the caching of the browser after the last update
    Kind regards,
    Robert

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I use firefox for so many, many years thta I deserve this kind of support .. thnx Robert

  • Code View Wordwrap Bug

In code view window, with wordwrap, dreamweaver hides code characters on the right edge of window.
It only hides 3-4 last character of the largest line.
Is it a bug? Does anyone notice it?

I have also faced this issue where if code's line is large and WordWrap is enabled, then it Dreamweaver CS6 actually wrapped it but hides 3 to 4 characters which is not select able or even view able. See the attached screenshot, you will see Dreamweaver CS6 hides some characters of my line which is definitely something wrong with the DreamWeaver.
Can anybody found the way to avoid it..??..I cant allow the WordWrap to be disabled and scroll it with that pathetic horizontal scroll.

  • Setting font size for code view

On my 19" desktop monitor the text size in code view is easy enough to read, but on my hi resolution 17" laptop it is really, really tiny. I can't find any prefs setting or another way to make the font for code view larger. Is there such a setting somewhere? (Yes, I can change the resolution settings for the laptop but this is not preferable because the screen is blurry at anything other than the native 1920 x 1200 pixels.) Thanks.

Play around with the preferences shown above to see what works for you.  I changed mine recently to use Consalas font and it's much better than the default  :-)

  • Dreamweaver code view problem with Turkish fonts

All my preferences is set to Turkish encoding, but only at the code window Turkish characters aren't displayed right. If i type directly into the code window, everything is ok. but if i write something to design windowi the characters change automatically. i'm attaching a picture to show.
    thanks in advance.

What you see there is not a problem. It's the expected result.
When the Web first started, it supported only unaccented characters. So, to create letters like ö, it was necessary to use HTML entities, which is what you see in Code view.
Nowadays, browsers support Unicode (UTF-8), which doesn't need to convert accented characters.
Go into Preferences (from the Edit menu on Windows, Dreamweaver window on a Mac), and select the New Document category. Set encoding to UTF-8. To change existing pages, use Modify > Page Properties, and select Title/Encoding.
With UTF-8, ö will still be ö in Code view.

  • Always open files in code view (with option to switch back to design/split)

I almost never use design view and it's very annoying that Dreamwaver CS4 can't seem to understand and remember that. I can be editing a file one day in code view, and when I open the file again the next day it opens in design view!? Is there a setting for this somewhere or is this a bug? Any suggestions for a solution?
Someone suggested I add the relevant suffixes in the "Open in code view" field (Preferences > File Types / Editors) but Adobe has decided that if I choose to always open a certain file type in code view via this method, I will not be allowed to temporarlily switch to design/split view.
    Any other suggestions?

All I can suggest is that you post an official feature request via the official form and wait for Adobe to implement something in CS6 or CS7 (assuming the feature set for CS5 is set in stone by now).
