Bug in Flash 8 when using Strings Panel?

A problem with the strings panel in Flash 8 I have found is
that, when working with 6 languages, if you save and close down
your Flash file with the Strings panel hidden, and re-open the FLA
and then view the strings panel/view your text on the stage (or
open the xml file) that, in my cae, some EN strings have been
corrupted/mutated to other languages.
This is obviously a bug in Flash which corrupts one of the
XML files if the strings panel is closed. Why does it do this? Its
very annoying having to remember to open the strings panel whenever
I load that specific project, even if I am not going to use it. And
the panel takes up a lot of space as it is so can't leave it open
all the time for other projects.
Any ideas?

Howdy. I'm having a very similar problem. I'm working with 21
languages (including EN) on the strings panel in Flash 8. I've
found that my languages get corrupted -- EN strings get substituted
in for some, not all localized strings in the panel -- when I
publish or test the movie. I was publishing for Flash 7. When I
changed my publishing settings to Flash 8, the problem went away.
Have you gotten any answers to your problem?

    Is there a flash when using the camera on the iPad?

    Unlike iPhone, there's no LED flash on iPad. But iPad's specs indicate that it does have a backside illumination sensor to increase the amount of light captured and thereby improve low-light performance. Apple say:
    "The 5‑megapixel iSight camera features a backside illumination sensor that captures great-looking pictures whether by sunlight or candlelight." (Source)

  • Indesign CS6 crashes when using pages panel - problem solutions?

    Problem:
    Indesign freeze up if I try to use pages panel and either: move - add or delete pages.
    I have now tried to remove and reinstall Indesign and also tried removing "preferences" when starting Indesign (as suggested from another site).
    Problem started quite sudden.
    Desperate need suggestions to solve problem!

    Please! Is there no one who can help?
    I'm working with a 208 page document and need to be able to move pages around to make the best design possible.
    This is impossible as every time I access the page panel InDesign freeze up and have to restart the program.
    I'm working on PC with Windows 8.  Problem seem to be sudden as explained over, and I have not been able to find any solution on internet.
    As said over, I tried to remove “preferences” when starting InDesign but this made no changes to my problem.
    In addition to above problem, I also had problems with being unable to move Objects, text fields etc.  This was only possible when using arrow keys. From various suggestions on internet, I actually ended up uninstalling Google Chrome. This solved the problem in moving objects/text fields around, but my problem in moving pages still exists.
    I have no desire in removing everything else but InDesign from my PC and hope to get a tip on solving my problem quick as time is of essence.

  • Noise when using Front-Panel headphone j

    This message is for those who may experience noise in headphones plugged into a case's front jack. These noises would likely be heard if one uses a quality phone set with good isolation. (not noise cancelling type) and during quiet times, such as when no music or other audio source is being played, or perhaps when listening to programming with very high dynamic range and the frequent, very low loudness passages of music, etc.. There is no problem with the card. (I'm using an Xtreme Gamer card) The problem will be with the header panel on the case itself. You need to isolate the case ground from the other grounds coming in from the various board headers, such as USB, the sound card, etc. I accomplished this by scraping away the foil from around the stud landings on the panel module board. Of course you need to exercise care when performing such a modification but you will be rewarded with absolute, golden silence, when that's what you should be getting. Again, there is NO problem with the card.

    If it is possible to remove the circuit board assembly for the front panel jacks from the case, you can see how the circuit foil "traces" on the board are connected. In my situation, and probably yours, you may find that the mounting screws that hold the circuit board to the computer case will also have the foil traces under them and that those traces will be a common ground to the rest of the circuits on the board. The problem arises because the computer case ground is at a somewhat different "signal" level than the grounds coming into the circuit board from the various "header" connectors, that is, the connectors you mate with the corresponding pins on your sound card, as well as the USB pins, if you choose to hook them up too. There is a great deal of strange noises that can be present in a given motherboard's circuits and associated grounds. All the ground connections from the headers coming into the board should only go to the individual connectors on the front panel. I cut away the foil paths where the grounds were all run together on the circuit board, thus isolating them from one another, as well as cut away the foil under the mounting screws. You may even have to cut foil from both sides of the board, depending on your model. You need to take care not to open up a circuit when making those cuts. A good, sharp Xacto knife or utility knife should work fine.
    I found it strange that the designers of the board didn't consider the problem of "ground loops", which is what the problem is defined as. Ground loops, as you can see now, can happen when when a circuit or even separate components altogether, such as a computer, TV and HIFI system are all connected together. In the?HIFI setup case, hum results because the point of incoming cable ground for your TV and/or Internet are at a different 60 Hz voltage from the ground in your home's wiring,?to which your computer is connected for power. This causes a current to flow through the audio cable shields that is large enough to induce a voltage into the audio equipment. I've even heard of ground loops so bad that people have seen sparks when trying to hook up the audio cables between the pieces of equipment. Almost anyone who has a system hookup such as I described has run into that problem of hum when using their computer's audio into their HIFI setup. The only relief is to get some type of ground "isolator" that connects between the incoming cable and your TV and/or Internet cable modem. A quick and dirty solution is to use a grounding adapter in the AC connection for your computer and other equipment that uses a grounding plug. This, of course, is not recommended, but will kill the hum for now. I thought I would throw in the HIFI setup hum problem since, as I said, many people are suffering from that problem.
    Even if the header grounds were all shorted together, the problem would be no where near as bad as having the case ground shorted to the header grounds, which was the way mine was made.
    I know this is a looooonnnnnng winded post but trying to explain something like this in writing is not easy. Hopefully you will now have a better understanding of what I meant the first time, even though it was by no means a short post either.

  • Improving Performen when using String

    Hi all,
    Well, I am developing an application and I use Strings a lot... using the Profile I could see the String class are more than 50% of all memory usage on it. I will try to explain how I am using the String and I hope someone can reply me some tips on how to improve this usage.
    Basically I have Message Exchanger application, this application receives some text messages and forward them (or reply them) by replacing some special string by another ones.
    For example:
    The application receive a message like "This is a sample message ${parameter}."
    And forward "This is a sample message Hello."
    Of course, it is more complicated than that, and has more parameters than just a simple one. The example above is just an swatch
    My source code use a lot of
    String msg =  msg.replace(regex1, text1);
              msg = msg.replace(regex2, text2);The JVM creates a new String for each return of msg replace and I believe this is the main place where I can improve the memory usage. The GC is collecting all resources properly, the problem is that I have hundred of messages like that running what cause thousand of String being created and the GC takes some time to release them.
    Well, that is all. Thanks and Regards

    When doing a bunch of variable substitutions it's better to use a regexp Matcher with the output being sent to a String buffer. If all the variable tokens have the same structure you can do the whole job in one pass. Something like:
    Pattern tokenPatterns = Pattern.compile("\\$\\{(\w+)\\}");
    Matcher m = tokenPattern.matcher(inputString);
    StringBuffer outb = new StringBuffer(inputString.length());
    while(m.find()) {
        String insertText = subsMap.get(m.match(1));
        m.appendReplacement(outb, insertText);
    m.appendTail(outb);

    Thanks.

    WOW! it's solved. i had the same problem.
    there's sth i'd like to share. i guess when some devices try to see my name, (some windows systems), like when i create a wireless network so they can connect to me and i can share files with them on my mac, the name they see on their screen is very weird. the opostroph is a bunch of other characters. i don't know to call this a mac bug or an adobe bug! maybe both. since i don't know what it has to do with the name of the hard disk, how did u know this anyway? i mean there's NO WAY i could have possibly thought it's because of this.
    PS: THANX SO SO SO MUCH again. there's NO WHERE on the web, that talked about this. this is the 1st place!

  • Possible bug in ccfe when using Apache STL

    Environment details:
    Solaris 10 @ patch version 148888-03
    Sun Studio 12.3 (5.12, 2011/11/16)
      I'm attempting to get boost 1.54 to build with this version of Sun Studio.  I ran into a number of issues when trying to get it to build with stlport4 (let alone the default STL implementation) and decided to try the apache STL.
      At one point when trying to build boost I ran into an error and as I delved into the problem I've discovered something extremely weird.  I've been unable to reduce this to a simplified example, so I'll apologize ahead of time when I say you'll need to get the boost source code to see this happen.  Here's the steps:
    ~  cd /tmp
    ~  gtar xf ~/Downloads/boost_1_54_0.tar.gz
    ~  cd boost_1_54_0/
    ~ BUILD_COMMAND=CC -library=stdcxx4 -I. libs/log/src/process_id.cpp
      ~ ${BUILD_COMMAND} -c
    "/usr/include/stdcxx4/loc/_num_put.cc", line 67: Error: The prior declaration for std::num_put<std::_CharT, std::_Iter>::~num_put() has no exception specification.
    1 Error(s) detected.
    That build command is clearly simplified from what it would've been during a normal boost build, but since it reliably reproduces the error I've omitted the rest of the flags.
    My environment is pretty clean; I'll quote variables that could be considered relevant:
    ~ env | ggrep -P 'PATH|SHELL|LANG|HOSTTYPE|OSTYPE|VENDOR|MACHTYPE|LC_TIME|LC_CTYPE
    PATH=/opt/csw/bin:.:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/sbin:/opt/sfw/bin
    LANG=C
    OSTYPE=solaris
    VENDOR=sun
    MACHTYPE=sparc
    LC_CTYPE=C
    LC_TIME=C
    I'll demonstrate what I consider odd below; it'll probably be more clear through shell examples than from me describing it.  Wherever you see ${BUILD_COMMAND}, it's the same as above:
    ~ ggrep -lRIP '_num_put.cc' /usr/include $(gfind ${SUNPRO_INSTALL_PATH}/ -type d -name include)
    /usr/include/stdcxx4/loc/_num_put.c
    /usr/include/stdcxx4/loc/_num_put.cc
    /usr/include/stdcxx4/loc/_num_put.h
    ${SUNPRO_INSTALL_PATH}/prod/include/CC/stlport4/stl/_num_put.h
    ~ truss -eaf ${BUILD_COMMAND} -c 2>&1 | ggrep -P 'open.*_num_put\.c'
    1729: open("/usr/include/stdcxx4/loc/_num_put.cc", O_RDONLY) = 8
    ... so clearly it's not going through _num_put.c, so it can't be going through the stlport4 header to do it; that means it must be going through _num_put.h (none of the boost headers or code files use this _num_put thing directly)
    ~ ${BUILD_COMMAND} -c -H 2>&1 | ggrep -P '^\s.*_num_put\.c'
    The fact this last one didn't print anything seemed really odd.  This next one is the weirdest though:
    ~ ${BUILD_COMMAND} -P
    ~ gsed -e '/^#/d' libs/log/src/process_id.i
    ~ CC -library=stdcxx4 libs/log/src/process_id.i -c
    ... produces no errors.  It builds just fine.  Furthermore, if you look at the output in the .i file (or if you use -E instead of -P) you won't see any of the code from _num_put.cc because the pre-processor doesn't spit it out.
    Another way to see that:
    ~ ${BUILD_COMMAND} -c -Qoption ccfe ++boolflag:prepoutstd=true 2>&1 | ggrep -P '~\s*_num_put'
    You won't see the destructor it's complaining about from the above.  However, as I demonstrated above (and as the error message clearly demonstrates), it is in fact using the contents of _num_put.cc.
    To put the final nail in the coffin, I looked at the output of using -xdumpmacros=%all (after examining how _num_put.h works) and this big of code sort of seals it for me:
    ~ ${BUILD_COMMAND} -c -xdumpmacros=%all 2>71 | ggrep -P '#define _RWSTD_DEFINE_TEMPLATE_(FIRST|LAST)'
    /usr/include/stdcxx4/rw/_defs.h, line 1498: #define _RWSTD_DEFINE_TEMPLATE_FIRST(ignore) 0
    /usr/include/stdcxx4/rw/_defs.h, line 1499: #define _RWSTD_DEFINE_TEMPLATE_LAST(ignore) 0
    ~ gtail -n 28 /usr/include/stdcxx4/loc/_num_put.h
    #if _RWSTD_DEFINE_TEMPLATE_FIRST (_NUM_PUT)
    # include <loc/_num_put.cc>
    #endif /* ... more stuff ... */
    There's another #if for _TEMPLATE_LAST later on with another #include line for _num_put.cc, but as demonstrated from the -xdumpmacros thing, both #if lines should not allow it to include _num_put.cc
    I believe this is a bug in ccfe.  If there's a straightforward way to force the compiler driver to do the preprocessing and compiling in two steps I believe I could work around this issue, but I don't see a way to do that.
    As an aside, could someone point out a way to get some information on undocumented commands and flags?  I found a way to get a listing, but figuring out what they actually do and when they're valid to use is another matter:
    ~ ${SUNPRO_INSTALL_PATH}/prod/bin/ccfe ++dumpswitches
      ~ ${SUNPRO_INSTALL_PATH}/prod/bin/ccfe ++dumpflags
    -Brian

    Based on your response to my question about forcing the use of a 3rd party pre-processor, I found I can make this build error go away with the -template=no%extdef option.  I was under the assumption that the compiler wouldn't take it upon itself to automatically 'discover' the .cc file and attempt to use it; I assumed once the pre-processing stage was complete it would only attempt to compile the output from the pre-processor stage.  Clearly that assumption was faulty.
    Thank you for the response Steve.  I've put in for the IT team to get/install the updates for us.

  • Bug in Mail when using Google Apps Gmail and sync

    I found a bug in the sync process between the Mac and the phone. If you have Mail (on the computer) set to use Google Apps for Your Domain, the sync on the phone changes the user for the mail account. I assume this is because it sees "smtp.gmail.com" or something and decides to "protect" you from having an incorrect user account.
    So for example, if you're using Google Apps and your e-mail is [email protected], Mail (on the computer) will also have smtp.gmail.com and pop.gmail.com as the servers. When sync'd to the phone, iTunes or the phone decide to change the user account for both servers to [email protected]@gmail.com, which is of course not what we want.
    I'm kind of annoyed that they're trying to protect us like this.

    Yeah unfortunately if you tried to send an e-mail
    before discovering that bug, you will have an error
    message show every time you access Mail saying "the
    sender address [email protected]@gmail.com was
    rejected by the server."
    I can't get it to go away even by deleting the
    account on iPhone and not setting it to sync.
    Anybody know of a fix?
    -AJT
    Yes. Create the GMail account on your iPhone using the Other shortcut instead of the GMail shortcut. That will let you specify whatever address you want.

  • Photo Booth-like flash when using shortcuts...

    Hi there,
    I've been facing a weird bug since the 10.6.3 update... Indeed, whenever I'm hitting a shortcut that's grayed in the menu of whichever application, my screen flashes as if I were taking a picture with Photo Booth.
    That's fun and all, but it's getting very annoying at times...
    Any idea of what's causing this?

  • MAX 3 locks up when using test panels

    I am using MXI-3 fiber link to connect to PXI-1000B chassis from my win XP PC. I have a PXI-6115 and PXI-6533 in slot 3 and 5 respectively.
    Both devices shows up in max and window device manager.
    But when I try to check the properties test resources on PXI-6115 then nothing happens.If I run test panel on max or in virtual channel, its locks up the MAX.
    Runing the test resouces in MAX on PXI-6533, I get the message that "This device is not responding to selected base address.
    I have also tried this setup with windows 2000. When I runs MAX the TEst Panels and Test Resources buttons are grayed out.
    I have changing diffrent setting for IRQ's and DMA without ant results.

    When you install a MXI-3 card in the PC and the PXI chassis, there is a MXI Initialization disk that you get which installs the MXI-3 Optimization program on your PC, which must run on bootup of the PC.
    Also, your PXI chassis must be powered on FIRST before your PC is powered up.
    Have you done both of these tasks first?

  • Bug in XSQLServlet when using the XSQLDMLHandler?

    Hi all & Steve,
    I am trying to call the XSQLDMLHandler as a nested Handler inside my own handler. But I always get this error message:
    XSQL-014: Resulting page is an empty document or had multiple document elements.
    I was checking the result for the call and it seems to be ok, I get the usual status message for my update. But when my actionhandler finishs and the XSQLServlet tries to carry on, I get the error above .
    I am doing this already with the XSQLQueryHandler and it works fine. So it seems to me that the XSQLServlet has a problem if the XSQLDMLHandler is called as a nested handler?
    Any suggestion or help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Bug in CL_SALV_TREE when using ADD_AGGREGATION / SET_STYLE ?

    Hi Experts!
    I am trying to implement  CL_SALV_TREE for creating a tree report which will be capable of performing AVERAGE and TOTAL on numeric (INT / DEC) columns. Secondly, I am trying to change the color (style) of the cell (item) based on its value.
    To add aggregations I am doing something like this:
    DATA: lr_aggregations TYPE REF TO cl_salv_aggregations.
      lr_aggregations = gr_tree->get_aggregations( ).
      lr_aggregations->clear( ).
    TRY.
          lr_aggregations->add_aggregation( columnname  = 'BKJOB'
                                            aggregation = if_salv_c_aggregation=>total ).
          lr_aggregations->add_aggregation( columnname  = 'CNJOB'
                                            aggregation = if_salv_c_aggregation=>total ).
          lr_aggregations->add_aggregation( columnname  = 'AVCAP'
                                            aggregation = if_salv_c_aggregation=>total ).
        CATCH cx_salv_not_found cx_salv_data_error cx_salv_existing.
      ENDTRY.
    And for changing the STYLE (background color) of a cell (item) I am using following code:
    TRY .
            LOOP AT it_nodes INTO wa_nodes.
              l_node_key = wa_nodes-key.
              nodes = gr_tree->GET_NODES( ).
              node = nodes->get_node( l_node_key ).
              item = node->get_item( 'BKCAP' ).
              lv_val = item->get_value( ).
              ASSIGN lv_val->* TO <lv_value>.
              IF <lv_value> GT '100.00'.
                item->set_style( lv_high ). "5 (Red)
              ELSEIF <lv_value> BETWEEN '80.00' AND '100.00'.
                item->set_style( lv_med ). "7 (Yellow)
              ELSEIF <lv_value> LT '80.00'.
                item->set_style( lv_low ). "6 (Green)
              ENDIF.
            ENDLOOP.
          CATCH cx_salv_msg.
        ENDTRY.
    The color changes work fine for leaf nodes but it doesn't if it is parent node. If I comment the aggregation code, it displays the color.
    I believe ADD_AGGREGATION method overrides the STYLE of the NODE ITEM.
    Is it a bug? Any fixes?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Aabhas K Vishnoi

    Actually, when you don't add the aggregations in your TREE, the Node record is exactly same as your very first Leaf so, it takes the same property as the Leaf's property. That's why we can see the color on the first node when we don't apply the Aggregations.
    Now, when we apply the aggregations, system applies its own Style on the NODE (Dark Blue color) and this style overrides the style of the Leaf.
