Bug in iPads Photo Stream?

Hi,
I have a problem with my iPad 2's Photo Stream (the problem does not occur on my iPhone 4S):  when I open Photos and switch to Photo Stream most of the times it is empty.  If I open a foto app which can access pictures in Fotostream (e.g., Photogene), start to open a photo (Edit New) and choose "Photo Stream", I can see all the pictures in the Photo Stream. Then I can close the app, open Photos again, switch to Photo Stream, then all the photos in Photo Stream are there.
This definitely is a bug!
Anyone else has this problem?

Looks like, this is definitely a bug. See here.

  • Mt iPads photo stream is using space on my iPad

The photo stream is taking up about 400 MB on my iPad, however there are no photos on the iPad it's self or in the photo stream. I have tried turning off my iPad all the way and turning it back on, I have tried turning off photo stream in the iCloud preferences and I have even tried to delete my whole iCloud account from my iPad temporarily, and it is still taking up about 400 MB of space on the iPad. This really annoys me because I only have 16 GB of memory on it and as you all know about 2.5 GB of that is taken up by iOS. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    Hello Phildebeldorado,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are missing the My Photo Stream album on your iPad, then you may have the iCloud Photo Library beta enabled.  When you enable this option, it removes the Camera Roll and My Photo Stream albums from your device.

I can't find photos on iPad photostream

To use Photo Stream, you need to sign up for iCloud with an Apple ID. Have you done that?

    Hey there gaberlunziehouse,
I see that you are experiencing an issue with your Photo Stream not pushing pictures to your Windows PC. I have an article for you that can help you address this issue, and it can be found here:

I have iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel) and signed in, but when I go to iCloud Photos, I see a message that says I'm not signed in.
If you see either of these messages and you're already signed in, you need to apply your settings:
"iCloud Photos is not enabled. Open iCloud for Windows 4.0."
"iCloud Photos is not enabled. Open iCloud Control Panel."
To apply your settings in Windows 8.1:
Close the Windows Explorer window that has the message.
Go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
    Select Photos.
    Next to Photos, click Options.
Select My Photo Stream. If you want to share certain photos, select Photo Sharing as well.
    Click OK, then click Apply.
    Return to iCloud Photos.
To apply your settings in Windows 8:
Close the Windows Explorer window that has the message.
Go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
    Select Photos.
    Next to Photos, click Options.
Select My Photo Stream. If you want to share certain photos, also select Photo Sharing.
    Click OK, then click Apply.
    Return to iCloud Photos.
To apply your settings in Windows 7:
Close the Windows Explorer window that has the message.
Choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
    Select Photos.
    Next to Photos, click Options.
Select My Photo Stream. If you want to share certain photos, also select Photo Sharing.
    Click OK, then click Apply.
    Return to iCloud Photos.
I added some photos to My Photo Stream on my Windows PC, but they don't appear in the Recently Added album or My Photo Stream album on any of my devices.
To see if your computer and other devices are online, try to view www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, iCloud Photos can't send or receive updates from My Photo Stream. You might need to troubleshoot your Internet connection on your PC, Mac, or iOS devices.
On your computer, open iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel) and make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, and click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Click the Options button and make sure that My Photo Stream is turned on.
Close and reopen iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
    Restart your computer.
Make sure that you used one of the methods below to add photos to My Photo Stream with iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel) on your Windows PC.
Add the photos using the Add Photos button in iCloud Photos:
Open a File Explorer window (Windows 8 or 8.1) or Windows Explorer window (Windows 7).
Under the Favorites menu, click iCloud Photos.
    Double-click My Photo Stream.
    Click Add photos.
Select the photos that you'd like to add and click OK.
Or you can copy photos from a folder to the iCloud Photos Uploads folder:
Confirm the location of your Uploads folder.
Open iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
In Windows 8.1, go to the Start screen, click the down arrow  in the lower-left corner, then click the iCloud app.
In Windows 8, go to the Start screen, then click the iCloud tile.
In Windows 7, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Click the Options button next to iCloud Photos.
Open a File Explorer window (Windows 8 or 8.1) or Windows Explorer window (Windows 7).
Go to the iCloud Photos folder location listed in iCloud for Windows 4.0 (or iCloud Control Panel).
    Open the Uploads folder.
Open the folder that contains the photos that you want to add to My Photo Stream.
Copy them into the Uploads folder.
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,

  • HT4847 If I back up my ipad photo stream to the iCloud, can I clear all the photos from my device storage? How.

If I back up my photo stream to the Icloud, can I delete the photos from my device? How?

No.  iCloud doesn't back up photo stream photos; it streams them to your other devices.  If you delete a photo stream photo from your phone it will be deleted from iCloud and all other devices/computers sharing your photo stream.
You can't really use iCloud to store your photos so you can free up space on your phone.  If you want to free up space, you'll need to import your camera roll photos to your computer and delete them from your phone as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  If you have photo stream photos that are not in your camera roll, save them to your camera roll so they can be imported too.

  • I'm no longer able to copy photos from email to my iPad photo stream.  The Save menu doesn't come up like it did before.  When I press on the image, I only get the option to Copy, and I can't paste it into my photo stream.

II'm no longer able to copy photos from email to iPa stream.  The Save menu does not come up Shen I press on the image like it did before.

    Hi beerexpert,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your iPad. If you are having unusual menu or option behaviour, you may want to try restarting/resetting your device, as outlined below:
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
You may also want to double-check that you have available space, as noted here:

  • Bugs on iPad Photo application - Faces

I have discovered a bug on my iPad's Photo application of the Faces. For some faces, the preview has the zoomed-in face of the person, which is normal. However, for the new faces which I have added on my Mac, the preview of the face is the whole photo, which is not normal. Is there a fix for this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the default keyboard? Or a third party keyboard? If the latter, go back to one of the built in keyboards.
Is the iPad plugged in when this is happening? If so, you may have a bad charger. It can make the screen do funny things.

  • New iPad photo stream issue

I'm trying to help out a friend here.  She just got an iPad Air and she's trying to get all the photos in her photostream to show on her new pad just like they do on her old pad.  She has photostream turned on on both iPads, and I think all of the other settings are identical between the both, but the new iPad is only showing the ~15 photos that have been added to the photostream since she set up the Air, and not the hundreds of photos that show on the photostream on her old iPad.  I've followed an Apple Technical Note that said to turn off photostream on the new iPad and agree to delete the photos--I did that and confirmed there was not a photostram available.  Then, following the Note again, I turned photostream back on and in the photos app, but the photostream is present again but it's just showing the same 15 new photos, not the older ones visible on her old iPad.
    Any suggestions?

Not sure what you meant here, AmishCake...
I now have the same issue on my new iPad Mini, I went to Settings and deleted my iCloud account, deleting all photos, contacts, etc.  Then re-instated the account bringing back all my contacts, etc., but when it brought back in my Photostream it still showed the 163 photos that had been there in the first place, not the 1,000 I know are out there in the Stream.
I've also just tried to turn Photostream off (which deletes the Photostream photos from the Mini), and then turned it back on, but that, again, just brings in the 163 photos that were there previously...  Maybe I need to try it again and "give it a while" while I'm out and about today...

  • If my ipad photo stream photo have reach 1000 photo my ipad will automatic delete the picture right? Then how about the picture inside my computer? It will also deleted?

    Hlp fix pls

Well there you go, when you advertise it just be sure to say that you can't even see the scratches at half brightness and see how it goes.
Of course you are saying you want $500 for one with many scratches on the screen, has been dropped, but the scratches aren't visible at half brightness, and has no warranty. Or I can buy a refurbished iPad 4 WiFi 32 GB directly from Apple with no scratches and a one year warranty for $499. http://store.apple.com/us/product/FD514LL/A/refurbished-ipad-with-retina-display -wi-fi-32gb-white-4th-generation
    Why would I buy yours?
I wouldn't pay more than $300 for a used model with your specs in perfect condition. But yours is far from perfect. I think your high point is $250 which is why I said 50%.

  • Iphone 4 pictures moved to ipad via icloud Cannot delete picture in Photo Stream on Ipad

I have an iphone 4 which connects to icloud,  I take pictures with the iphone,  the icloud syncs the picture to my ipad in the Photo Stream tab on the ipad.  I cannot delete picutres on the ipad photo stream tab. or my iphone (using photos) I don't know why the pictures I cannot delete. What can I do ?

You have to delete the photos using a Mac or PC at the iCloud.com website.  It is a two step process.
    1. Go to iCloud.com. Click on your Name (upper right), then Advanced, then Reset Photo Stream.
    2. Go to your iPad/Settings/iCloud.  Turn off PhotoStream.  This will delete the photos on your iPad.
It is all or none.  You can't selectively delete phots from your PhotoStream.

  • Not all the photos from my iPad are uploaded to My Photo Stream.

Does Photo Stream have some algorithm to recognize similar photos and upload only one of them?
I have like 700 photos in my iPad Photo Stream. But only half of them are uploaded to My Photo Stream folder on my PC. Why?
I noticed that similar photos are not uploaded. Maybe there is some algorithm?
    How can I fix this?
I must add that photos aren't older than 30 days, and Photo Streams was on from the beggining.

    Good morning
I can't create this issue on my devices but appears that others have had this problem - often during times of poor wifi reception it seems.  I did find this solution of powering off and then they came through for this op.
    Cheers
