Bug in Mail when using Google Apps Gmail and sync

I found a bug in the sync process between the Mac and the phone. If you have Mail (on the computer) set to use Google Apps for Your Domain, the sync on the phone changes the user for the mail account. I assume this is because it sees "smtp.gmail.com" or something and decides to "protect" you from having an incorrect user account.
So for example, if you're using Google Apps and your e-mail is [email protected], Mail (on the computer) will also have smtp.gmail.com and pop.gmail.com as the servers. When sync'd to the phone, iTunes or the phone decide to change the user account for both servers to [email protected]@gmail.com, which is of course not what we want.
I'm kind of annoyed that they're trying to protect us like this.

account on iPhone and not setting it to sync.

Yes. Create the GMail account on your iPhone using the Other shortcut instead of the GMail shortcut. That will let you specify whatever address you want.

Bug on terminal when using C's scanf and printf?

Hi, I'm studying C and C++ and i used to compile my files on linux and use the terminal to work with the standard i/o, but now I'm using emacs on mac and using the same method for the standard i/o (terminal), but i noticed that 'long double' values for example, are (apparently) too big for the terminal (i guess) and it can't handle the size of the output generated by my program. I Know my question might be a bit confusing but i've had a hard time looking for related topics.
Does anybody know what can i do?

Thanks BobHarris for your reply, I think i might have found the problem, the values i was working with are 64-bit and the terminal is a 32-bit application, so, basically the terminal can't handle it and that's what's been giving me trouble, now, my question should change, How can i get a 64-bit Terminal?
(I know that in some linux distributions you can do that).

Double alerts in Mail when using Exchange for gmail

I am using the Exchange type account in Mail for my gmail so that it plays nice with labels. But now when I get an email in the inbox Mail sees an identical copy in All Mail and I get two audio notifications. This was amusing at first, but the novelty has worn off. Is there a way to fix this without redoing the whole account setup? Thanks.

Hmm. Dunno. I have my Gmail set up as an Exchange account and don't have this problem. It's very well behaved. It shouldn't take but a minute or two to delete the account and set it up again. I don't know if that will solve the problem but I can't think of anything else. Sorry.

PDF from Google Apps gmail/gdrive by Cloudprinter failed on HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One

3. Failed , after the failed message is a very long URL to my gmail attachment.
4. This issue occured from the beginning, I have this printer only for one week.
When I print different kinds of PDF's from Google Apps (gmail and gdrive) by Google Cloudprinter I got a failed message at the HP eprinter Recent Print Jobs list.
Other prints from Google Cloudprinter, for example a webpage or a Google Docs document (not PDF) is working fine.
Also sending the same PDF's directly to my @hpeprinter.com e-mail address is working fine.
Is this a problem by Google Cloudprinter or HP e-print? How to solve the problem?

After much research, I was unable to obtain a direct answer for two reasons: HP doesn't support Linux or Cloud Print beyond initial setup. I was not very satisfied with this answer as I knew you would not really be either so I found some links and this may be the last I can provide any assistance here due to the two reasons above. Otherwise, if ePrint is not working within the apps using a Windows-based computer I am more than happy to assist you. You may continue to get support here from other community members regarding Linux but I may not be of much assistance. I can say the first place to check is www.eprintcenter.com and see what the error messages say there under the print history, cancel any pending print jobs and try again. Keep me posted on any additional information you may want to add regarding a Windows PC, otherwise I should direct you over to some great support provided by Google Cloud. Linux is suppose to work with these functions so I will leave you with this final excerpt from a Cloud Print Help site:
"Why is my document not printing?
1. Make sure your Google Cloud Print connector is running on a computer with Mac, Windows, or Linux.
2. If you're using Windows XP, make sure you also have the Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed.
3. Confirm that the computer connected to your printer is powered on and that you are logged in."
This printer should support this feature so to make sure, you can log into www.eprintcenter.com and select ePrint Settings under the customized email address on this page and ensure you have Print Services ON. I wish I could be of more assistance however. I strongly recommend contacting the manufacturer of the apps you are having the problem with as these functions work when you use them like ePrint was intended (via email and mobile devices). Suggestion: to add the feature to expand the to/cc/bcc windows when using google mail.

That capability will be added in Firefox 4.
I see you have OS X 10.4 and a PPC Mac, unfortunately you will not be able to install Firefox 4 as it requires an Intel Mac and at least OS X 10.5. There is a third party build of Firefox 4 for the PPC and 10.4 available from http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

Meeting invites not received on Blackberry device on Airtel using Google Apps

Greetings. This seems to be an ongoing problem but I could not find a specific thread to what I am facing, and hence creating a new thread.
Over the last two weeks, a lot of users in our office have suddenly stopped received meeting invites / notices. Most of them are using a variety of Blackberry devices almost all Curves 8520, 9230, 9360. We use Google Apps for our mail, calendaring and others.
Meeting Notices are not coming to some of the BB devices. When a meeting is created by an organiser (say me for example) and I invite two or three co-workers, the meeting notice e-mail is delivered and sits in their Google Apps GMail hosted mailbox, but it does not download to their BB. All other mail messages are delivered normally.
On those receipients facing this problem, I experimented with their settings in Calendar of Äutomatically add invitations to my calendar" to Yes and Yes, but don't send event reminders unless I have responded.
I have even deleted the account, re-added, and downloaded service books.
The wireless sync between Google Apps Calendar and the BB devices is working fine.
Can someone please help solve this problem and oblige.

Hello JKN8R,
You should be able to add the calendar by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account and tap either Google or click on More… and select Add CalDAV Account and enter in the log in information to have them added to your iPhone. Take a look at the article below for more information.

MacBook Pro freezes when using any app other than the web browser.

My MacBook freezes when using any app other than the web browser. I can open up Google Chrome and use it all day with no problem, but if I minimize it and try to browse through photos in my picture folder or do anything that involves the Finder, the computer just freezes up and I get the rainbow wheel. If I put in a CD to play it, the computer freezes with the rainbow wheel. Any suggestions? I would like to use the mac for more things than the internet.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I tried that but I still got the message "Unable to verify account information." I saved it anyway and when I go to the Exchange email account it says "Cannot Get Mail" "The connection to the server failed." We are running Microsoft Exchange 2010 and I was always able to sync my calendar and email before I upgraded to IOS 6.

I have a problem when using Google Maps, at some point my computer blanks the window and says there's a problem with display drivers, and it has recovered,but it doesn't. Problem doesn't happen with Int Explorrer, so I do not believe it is the computer

When using google maps through Firefox, after asking for a place which is not the general North America section which routinely comes up, the firefox screen goes white, with a narrow banner at the top. A message appears in the lower right corner which says something about display drivers having had a problem, but now have recovered. However the display doesn't recover and the banner message is that Firefox is not responding. When I go to restart Firefox if I go to the restore point, the page is still frozen out.
I do not believe it is a problem with my computer because it doesn't happen if I use I.E. to go to google maps, then G-maps works normally.
This phenomenon did not happen before the latest upgrade to either Google or Firefox. I have used Fiefox for a number of years and also Google Maps on previous computers and on this one, and not had this before.
This is a relatively young computer (Asus EeSlate 121) less than a year old. I have used Firefox since I bought it and until recently had no problem with Google Maps.

I solved it myself, after the "note" which came back from FF/Mozilla just as I finished my message, commenting on what it was that my system had , I wnnt back to check my plug-ins etc. I downloaded the latest Java, BOTH 32bit AND 64 bit versions and latest Firefox.
Now all is working.

Capturing error messages from Oracle EBS APIs when using Oracle Apps Adapter

We are using Oracle applications adapter to call Oracle EBS (both R11.5 and R12) APIs. I want to understand the best practice around error handling when using Oracle Apps Adapter to call Oracle EBS.
Here are some observations:
1. Most of the APIs return X_RETURN_STATUS and X_MSG_DATA containing the status and messages if any.
2. If the MSG COUNT is 1 then X_MSG_DATA contains the message, if MSG COUNT is > 1. X_MSG_DATA is empty.
We know that when calling the API directly from PL/SQL, we need to loop through FND_MSG_PUB to fetch all messages when there are more than 1. How do we achieve the same using Apps Adapter as Apps Adapter generates the PL/SQL block to call the API dynamically at runtime.
In some APIs, which have table/rec types as input or output parameters, Apps Adapter generates a wrapper package to do conversion from SQL--> PL/SQL and viceversa. In this case the adapter calls the custom package generated which internally calls the API. For these APIs we were able to put the logic to loop through FND_MSG_PUB and return a concatenated string as value of X_MSG_DATA.
But what should we do for the APIs which do NOT have a rec/table type as input or output, in which case the Apps Adapter directly calls the API and there is no intermediate custom package?
How are others handling this?
