Bug in new Itunes U app

Hello to everyone.
I just wanted to report a bug found in the new Itunes U app. I didn't know where else to post it.
After looking through Review Lecture 1 slides from "Standford iPad and iPhone App Development" I experience the following problem.
As you cann see, the app didn't re-scale well after such action.
I hope it helps.

I was using the speakers before the update and they were fine. I use them for other things and they are fine, so it isn't the speakers, its the upgrade.

  • Apple Unveils All-New iTunes U App for iPad, iPhone & iPod touch

A colleague just told me about this announcement from Apple -
Apple Unveils All-New iTunes U App for iPad, iPhone & iPod touch -
    http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2012/01/19Apple-Unveils-All-New-iTunes-U-App-for -iPad-iPhone-iPod-touch.html
Do any fellow iTunes U administrators know anything about this? How is existing content presented in the new app? Would we need to change anything? How do we access / make available the new features?
The new features sound fantastic but it would have been nice to have some warning. I appreciate that Apple has to keep specific details about developments confidential but it's slightly disconcerting that iTunes U administrators were not forewarned about this new development and that there has been no mention of it on this forum. Also - and at the risk of sounding like a broken record - it really would be helpful for iTunes U administrators to have a private forum (perhaps an add-on to Public Site Manager) where we could discuss issues and share ideas and best practice etc.

    Greetings Tom;
I watched the Apple's Keynote presentation and I'm amazed!  I'm really excited about the possibilities this opens up for educators.  I, like you am still processing all of the information and sorting out the possibilities.
Did you get the email about the Webcast on Wednesday the 25th at 10:00 AM PT that's going to cover the new iTunes U Corse Manager and how to publish through iTunes U Site Manager?  Hopefully this is available to you in the UK.  We'll keep in touch.  All the best...

  • Can I sync the new itunes radio app even though i have an itouch 4gen?

can I sync the new itunes radio app even though i have an itouch 4gen?

The radio is a part of the iTunes Music app.
I don't think you can get iOS 7 on your iPod. Too old.

  • New iTunes & applying App updates

In the new iTunes, how do you apply app updates as there is no "search for updates" or "update all" buttons anymore?  Previously I could decide which updates to apply.
I have 9 app  updates needing applied but I dont want to apply them all.   I used to apply via computer as some of the updates can take a while

After continuing my search for answer -  I eventually found it  (I have iphone 5,  iTunes 11 and a Windows PC)
    1) Start ITunes (version 11 is most recent).
    2) Plug you Iphone in so it will find it.
    3) When looking at the main ITunes main page... "You can show the sidebar (which was the old way to view ITunes) by pressing Option-Command-S on a Mac or Co ntrol-S on Windows. Alternatively, you can open the View option from the menu bar and select Show sidebar.  I just used Ctrl+S - you will now recognise the ols style of ITunes but will still be Version 11
    4) Near top of sidebar you will  see Apps, and number of updates pending, Click apps - and voila -  you will see the old style... and sync as you did before!!!  I have no idea why Apple made it so confusing and less user friendly, but they did.

  • Applescript bug in new iTunes 7?

I have used the following applescript (in an Automator workflow) with version 6.x of iTunes in the past:
-- Delete tracks from library and return the file location(s)
    on run {input, parameters}
    set these_tracks to the input
    tell application "iTunes"
    set these_files to {}
-- get the file path of each of the selected tracks
repeat with i from 1 to the count of these_tracks
    set this_track to item i of these_tracks
if the location of this_track is not missing value then
set the end of these_files to (the location of this_track)
    end if
    delete this_track
    end repeat
    end tell
    return these_files
    end run
This script would take iTunes items and extract their file paths, remove the track from itunes and then pass the file paths to the next action.
Once I upgraded to version 7 it now fails on the "delete this_track" line:
iTunes got an error: file track id 4771 of user playlist id 4745 of source id 39 doesn't understand the delete message. (-1708)
Is there any way to verify this is a bug and send in a bug report for iTunes?
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • New computer new itunes moving apps iphone 4

How do I move my apps from my iphone to my new computer/itunes. When I try to sync apps, itunes wants to force me to overwrite the apps on the iphone as this is the first time I'm syncing on this computer?! Windows 7, iTunes 10.4.1
    Thanks y'all

Copy everything from the old computer to the new one.
Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  If you sync to another, it will erase the current content.

  • New iTunes Store Apps Page/Where has more detailed 'CATAGORIES' menu gone?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I cant seem to find the catagories menu on the new iStore Apps page...?
The only choices I see are:
    1-New & Noteworthy
    2-What's Hot
    3-Staff Favorites
    4-Top Paid
    5-Top Free
    and that's it....
Where are the more detailed catagories, such as Navigation, Games, Navigation, Health & Fitness & etc...? The list used to run down the left side of the page..?
    Thx

Where did the music from your actually phone come from? that library? Did you delete the files ?
If you purchased them on Itunes, easiest thing to do is going into Purchased Items and re-download them to the PC.

  • Old iPhone, new iTunes/Mac; App sync warning about losing all apps and data

I have an old iPhone with plenty of apps on it.
I have a new Mac/iTunes that I have setup and "successfully" synced with my phone.
However, on the Apps tab in iTunes (within my phone device section), the Sync Apps checkbox is not checked. If I check this box, I get a very disconcerting warning:
-- Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone "Some Guy's iPhone" will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library. --
My goal is to update iOS4.2, but I can't do that because it warns me there are things on my phone that aren't on iTunes. Yet Transfer Purchases isn't doing anything useful.
I have also Reset Warnings and reattached my phone to sync. Nothing new and exciting happened.
So, will I actually lose everything if I do the update? Will I ever be able to control my apps from iTunes (via Sync Apps)?
Does Apple realize how non-intuitive and difficult the whole iPhone-iTunes management thing is? This is so counter to their philosophy.

    Hello.
You need to transfer your iTunes library from your PC to your Mac per the instructions included with this link along with all other important data from your PC that you will need or want to access on your Mac such as photos, documents, etc.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
Transferring your iTunes library from your PC to your Mac following the instructions included with the link provided along with authorizing your Mac with your iTunes account with iTunes should prevent any iTunes content from being erased on your iPhone with the first sync with iTunes on your Mac. Since all iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, and 3rd party apps should be available in your iTunes library on your PC, transferring your iTunes library from your PC to your Mac will prevent any iTunes content from being erased on your iPhone.
The only data that is wiped on an iPhone when syncing an iPhone with an iTunes library on a new or different computer is iTunes content when not transferring your iTunes library from the existing computer used for syncing your iPhone with to the new or different computer per the instructions provided, and photos transferred from the existing computer. Photos on the existing computer should be transferred to the new or different computer along with your iTunes library and all other important data from the existing computer.
Photos in the Camera Roll are not included with the iTunes sync process or touched except for being included with the iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
Photos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. When there are photos and/or video in the Camera Roll, the iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer. Importing photos from a digital camera is not handled by iTunes and the same for photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll. With a Mac, you can use iPhoto for importing photos/videos from any digital camera or from a digital camera's storage card including from the iPhone's Camera Roll, or you can use the Image Capture application for this if you don't prefer using iPhoto for photo storage and management on your Mac. iPhoto will provide you the Events and Faces feature available on the iPhone and you can use iPhoto for setting a location for photos that were captured by a digital camera which does not include a location feature for the iPhoto locations feature.
Contacts and calendar events on your iPhone are not touched when syncing with iTunes unless you are syncing contacts and calendar events with a supported application on your computer. With a Mac, you can sync contacts with the Address Book and calendar events with iCal. Before syncing contacts with an empty Address Book and calendar events with an empty iCal, enter one contact in the Address Book and one calendar event in iCal before the first sync for this data. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. Syncing contacts with the Address Book and calendars/calendar events with iCal is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes on your Mac.
If you don't have any music or movies in your iTunes library on your PC - all you have are 3rd party apps in your iTunes library on your PC, you can transfer all apps from your iPhone to iTunes on your Mac. First you need to authorize your Mac with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. After confirming all 3rd party apps on your iPhone are in your iTunes library on your Mac, under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes select Sync Apps and make sure all apps currently installed on your iPhone are selected below.

  • Bug in new iTunes 7.3.2

I just upgraded my copy of iTunes with the new upgrade that was susposed to fix some security problems. I don;t know about that but it did add a problem. Now every song I play from my play list or library has a little noise added, kind of like an old cassett that has a clicking noise when you play it. Can this be fixed or can I go back to un do the up grade so that my music dosn't have this clicking noise? Some up grade this was BTW.

  • New iTunes - Device Apps "will update"?

OK, so iTunes updated recently to 11.0.1
On my device (iPhone 3GS), in the App Store it shows "No Updates" (everything is sync'ed to current)
On my MAC, in iTunes/Apps it shows "Update" next to 5 of my 2 dozen or so installed applications.
When I click the "Update" in iTunes, it's status changes to "Will Update". Wonderful!
QUESTION: .. so, How do you get it to actually commence this updating it says it "will" do?
I have tried "Apply" (located on the bottom right), which just does another sync and changes nothing
I have also tried clicking "Done" (located in the uper right), which just returns me to music
Is it showing these updates (only in iTunes on my Macbook PRO) in error for my iPhone's OS?
OR is the App Store on my iPhone not showing all updates correctly?
Anyway, advice / suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you for the reply.
RE: "File > Devices > Transfer purchases to this iPhone"
First: So, you are suggesting the "updates" shown in iTunes 11.0.1 for my already installed applications, ARE in fact needed on my iPhone, AND that the App Store shown updates (or lack thereof) on my iPhone are not accurate?
Second: Performing the steps above didn't seem to change a thing. The same apps in iTunes on my MAC still say "Update" next to them (while all the other say "Remove"), and the App Store application on my iPhone still shows everything is already up-to-date.
Third: Maybe I am just missing something, but where would one find the "library page for Apps"?

  • Why most of WWDC 2012 videos are seen as audio in iPad iTunes U app?

I think it's a bug since Video app is showing these videos correctly.

Try updating to the new iTunes U app that was released today.
If that doesn't work, try testing other iTunes U course videos.

  • New iTunes U Downloads not showing up correctly

I happily started trying to use the new iTunes U app today, but I'm getting frustrated.
When I open the app and go into the online catalog, I can select a course lecture to download. When I download it, however, it gets shunted to the iPhone Music app, rather than the shelves of the iTunes U app library. Actually, that's not entirely accurate. When I downloaded the first lecture from the Yale Game Theory course, it appeared in the iTunes U app, but every subsequent download has gone to the Music app alone. I have restarted the phone, deleted and redownloaded the app, and wiped all the previously stored lectures off my device. Nothing seems to work.
    Any ideas?

You now download them directly to the iTunes U app. As of iOS 6 (I think) it has become more self contained and doesn't require interaaction with the Music or Video apps.It is also subscription based.

  • ITunes App Updates in Yosemite, no longer show a description of what's new in the app.

    Greetings.
I've noticed since upgrading to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) a few days a go, when you have app updates waiting in iTunes, if you click on an app's icon, there is no longer a description of what has changed (or is new) in the app.
Is anyone else having this problem?  Is there a fix?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,
I'm having the same exact problem on my Mac as well. Its a bug and sadly Apple hasn't yet released a fix to it, but I'm also having an issue where iTunes says "Determining Gapless Playback Information". It's so annoying and I'm really hoping that Apple would read this and fix these problems.

  • When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

When one or more family members who have been sharing one iTunes account wants to create their own iTunes account can they each upload the music/apps from the shared iTunes on their devices to the new iTunes account?

Yes. I would clarify your statement about the "shared" iTunes Library though. If you want each iOS device to have its own music library, you should create separate user accounts for them. Read:
