Bug in Oracle Outlook Connector 10,1,1,0,2 (1431) and Oracle Forms 6i Rel 2

Hello,
I installed Oracle Outlook Connector. 10,1,1,0,2 (1431)
We are using Oracle Collaboration Suite on a 10g database.
On the Desktop.
I am using.
a) MS/OFFICE Outlook 2003.
b) Oracle Forms and Reports 6i Release 2.
c) Oracle instance client 10.1
d) Windows XP HOME SP2.
What happens?
1) Oracle Run Time Forms 6i and Oracle/MS Outlook 2003 run fine(Work) when I run them ONE AT A TIME!
2) When I run them together(At the same time) I receive this error message. FRM-40735 ORA-06508.
I have narrowed it down to an Oracle Connector 10g problem.
How did I do that?
In XP Home you can create multi-user accounts.
I created a new user account this time I connected to Microsoft Exchange Server 2000.
Results. Oracle runtime 6i works at the same time as MS Outlook 2003.
I am able to use both Programs at the same time. Without any error messages.
Next Step.
I created a new user account and this time I used an Oracle Connector 10.1g for MS Outlook 2003.
Results: Same error message as before. Ran the application(s) at the same time. FRM-40735 and ORA-06508
Please help with any ideas.
Thank you
Dennis

The product managers look through the forum threads periodically. Some more regularly than others. Since I only look at the forum about once a week, I'm probably the least regular of the PMs. Development also scans the forum, but less regularly.
If you have urgent issues that requires action/response from Oracle, it is better to open an SR with Oracle Support.
Hope that helps,

  • Oracle Outlook Connector Deployment Problem

I am trying to deploy Outlook 2003 with the Oracle Outlook connector. I am using the Custom installation Wizard provided by the Microsoft Office 2003 Support Tools.
I have set the Oracle connector to piggy-back on the install, however, it will not setup each user automatically. Even using the ini file. You have to manually setup each current user and new users as they come to a new pc.
I want Outlook the CIW to setup the Oracle connector automatically using a .PRF file (Outlook profile file). Unfortunately, with 3rd party connectors, you have to setup the .prf manually. But, other than the white paper provided by Microsoft, there isn't any info on how to manually setup the .PRF file that will setup the connector?
Do I need to call Microsoft (and spend the $250), Oracle, or is there anyone out there that has this info?
Any help would be beneficial to everyone trying to deploy the oracle connector to a large amount of machines without ever having to visit each pc.

Not yet. I have issued a TAR with Oracle and have talked to a technician about this problem. He is now meeting with engineers to see if it is possible. I have also been on the phone with a software company called AutoProf and testing their software Profile Maker 8. The tech that I spoke with there is also working with the engineers to come up with a solution. Right now it looks as though some scripting is going to have to occur to get it to work right. I'll keep you posted.

  • Oracle Outlook Connector Deployment

We are trying to deploy the oracle outlook connector to hundreds of pcs. There isn't really any documentation on how to deploy this connector without visiting every single machine. Is there an MSI or easy way to deploy the connector?
All outlook clients are set to Internet only now, but we will first deploy Outlook 2003 and have that setup as Corporate/Workgroup before deploying the oracle connector. Any ideas?
    Thanks for any info,

You could try using the Office 2003 custom installation wizard. This will allow you to customize your Outlook installation and will give you the option of chain installing the Oracle Calendar connector. Use the included ini file with the Oracle Calendar connector to set your predefined settings and do a silent install with no user interaction. Check out the Office 2003 resource kit on Microsoft's website for details.

  • Oracle Outlook Connector - 3.4 works, 9.0.4.* doesn't?

    Hi,
My company uses Oracle Corporate Time Server (not sure which version). Our accounts use LDAP to authenticate. When I use Outlook 2002 with Outlook Connector 3.4, everything works. However - when I use it with Oracle Connector 9.0.4.* or later I fail to connect to the calendar server - it tells me username is not recognized. The same username (I checked) works with version 3.4.
    Anyone seen this problem?
Anxious to use Outlook 2003 - which is why I tried upgrading to Outlook Connector 9.0.4.11 as it supports Outlook 2003.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Dennis,
Thanks very much.. I will try that today. I've found so many sites adverstising the use of 3.4 for calendar configuration - and have to guess that this problem with 9.0.4.* may be the problem. Will let you know.
    Cheers,

In Oracle Fusion Middleware Developers Guide for Oracle SOA Suite in section 42.5 there is the next:
"You can also use Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1 sensor actions to publish sensor data as data objects on Oracle BAM Server 11g"
    Is it really possible?

  • Corp Time Outlook Connector

Is there any news on better sync between Corp Time and Outlook? Our company uses the old Outlook Connector tool.
Is there a newer version of Outlook Connector? I am on V3.3. I heard that there was V3.4 or V4 that has reduced many of the bugs.
Also, any news on accessing the web based Corp Time site from the new Cell Phones? I have web access on my Samsung A500 but it is only usefull on websites that have "mobile" version.
Our company also uses the old CT&S tool for accessing our Corp Time Server from outside the firewall. Kind of webmail way of getting to the calendar.
Does anyone know if there is a "mobile" version of this site tool?
The ideal solution would be a way to sync Corp Time with the calendar that is built into a cell phone, without requiring the bulk and overhead of the Palm or Windows CE OS.
Short of that, I'm open to suggestions.

Upon taking over Steltor, Oracle released new versions of most CorporateTime components (client and server), which mostly consisted of them sticking their name on the Steltor products. More significant updates have occurred since then, especially with the release of 9.0.4. Outlook Connector was initially bumped to v3.4 and Oracle released a few point releases. Functionally, versions 3.3 and 3.4 are very similar. The latest release, called Oracle Connector for Outlook 9.0.4, looks and feels much the same as well, though there are some additional features and enhancements. See the release notes:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B12029_02/calendar.htm#1006785
Collaboration Suite includes a wireless server that might address your mobile needs, though I haven't worked with it.

  • Outlook Connector w/Windows 7 64-bit

Does anybody know if the (Oracle) Outlook Connector 7.3 is compatible with Outlook running on Windows 64-bit?
I have a Windows 7 64-bit system and both the installer for Outlook Connector, as well as a resultant installer I've made using it, don't appear to work very well on 64-bit Windows systems.
I'm using the latest version in patch 139162-09, August 04 2010.
Struggling to understand how this could be the case given the increasing popularity of 64-bit Windows, but I thought I'd ask just in case it's not supported.
    Many thanks

    Hello,
Yes, it's working with office 2007 and the last OC release.

  • Outlook connector - how can I open other users calendars at startup?

    Hello!
How can I open a list of other users calendars at startup (outlook with Oracle outlook connector software installed)?
    Is it possible?
    Regards,
    Konstantin.

    Question:
Were you able to solve this issue? I too would like to have the ability to automatically open other users' calendar when Outlook loads.
I did find one unreliable workaround is this; I am able to add a link of the other users' calendar on the shortcut bar. This way, when a user logs on, s/he can click on the link to get to other's calendars.
However, I say its unreliable because every once in a while, I get the error message "Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The entry Id passed in does not refer to a valid object."
To resolve this, I must go back to files -> open -> Other user's folders. Open the calendar before it works agin.

  • Cannot get Outlook Connector work Communication Express style

We are using Sun Messaging server with Communication Express, Outlook Connector, Imap Clients.
And we have problems saving SENT items in one style. Both - IMAP clients and Communication Express works correctly - they saves sent items into folder named "SENT", but I cannot get Outlook Connector work the same way.
I have installed outlook connector (Product Version: 7.3-05.01), and configured it to set system folder names "Communication Express style".
I have set my local file:
    C:\DOCUME~1\<user>\LOCALS~1\Application Data\Sun\Outlook Connector\sjoc_folders.map
    content to:
    [en]
    INBOX=Inbox
    Deleted Items=Trash
    Drafts=Drafts
    Sent Items=SentDoes this goes somewhere?
But nothing helps - Outlook 2007 still uses its own SENT ITEMS folder iwth this name and saves sent items in this folder.

  • Outlook Connector Address Book SSL

I followed the steps to get the Outlook connector to work with the address book and Convergence as described here:
    http://wikis.sun.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=42080166
That works well for non ssl connections.
It does not seem to work with SSL connections. When Outlook starts up, I get an error that it cannot connect the address book server.
The url that gets put into the outlook client for the address book is
    https://server.domain.com:443/iwc/svc
https://server.domain.com:443 is grayed out. How can I get it ungrayed so that I can change the server and port without having to use re-install the outlook connector?

    karl.rossing wrote:

    http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Connector+for+Microsoft+Outlook+7.3+Release+Notes
6228253 : Login to Address Book server fails through Outlook.
Users are unable to log into the Address Book server though Outlook if the Address Book (in Communications Express) is in SSL mode.
Workaround: Open Communications Express within Internet Explorer and permanently accept the self-signed certificate. In this case instead of Communications Express, you would log into Convergence using the SSL path (https://server.domain.com/iwc) and permanently accept the certificate.

  • Outlook with SJOC shows emtpty mails, pure IMAP and UWC OK

    JES 2005q1
    SJOC 7.0.213.3
    Outlook 2002 SP3
After importing mail from our old mailserver (sendmail on Solaris), some mails shows up as empty when viewed from Outlook with SJOC. Viewing the same mails from uwc shows the mail content. The same is true when using IMAP (without SJOC) from Outlook.
Have tried import both with imsimport and imapcopy (http://home.arcor.de/armin.diehl/imapcopy/imapcopy.html)
    Ideas anyone?

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem.
On one of our hosted domains, we migrated from JES2
to JES4 (2005Q4). After the mailbox migration, users
of this domain complain that using the outlook
connector, some mails have an empty body and contain
an attachment 'winmail.dat' that is unreadable.
The same mail on the webclient uwc displays ok, but
ALSO contains the winmail.dat attachment (again:
unreadable). There is a later version of OC available. You need to contact Tech Support to get it.

Did you manage to resolve the problem ?

  • Entity Framework - Code First - Migration - How to access SQL Server and Oracle using the same context?

    Hello,
I use Entity Framework code first approach.
My project is working fine with SQL Server. But, I want to access Oracle too. I want to switch SQL Server and Oracle in run time.
I am able to access Oracle using "Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.EntityFramework.dl" in a new project.
But, Is this possible to access SQL Server and Oracle in the same project.
    Thanks,
    Murugan

This should be possible with a Code-First workflow.  In Code-First the database mapping layer is generated at runtime.

    Please help me.

I'm guessing the cause is probably the same as that article: PHP is 32bit but your Oracle libraries are 64bit.
You will need to install 32bit instant client and make sure they are used for Apache. Does Windows 2008 have sym links? Perhaps the note mentioned at the end of OCI8 IN WINDOWS SERVER 2008 x64 will help. Otherwise try creating some batch scripts to set PATH appropriately before starting Apache.

  • HACMP and Oracle Clusterware

Hi Guys , I need some technical guidance regarding HACMP and Oracle Clusterware. I am designing an Oracle maximum Availability architecture for a client on 4 Nodes of IBM 570 PSeries servers on Oracle 10G RAC. The configuration includes IBM HACMP and Oracle Clusterware. No I need do know if I can fully rely on Oracle Clusterware as my Clusterware or I can configure both IBM HACMP and Oracle Clusterware for some services. Can these two clusterware coexist ??

Yes they can co-exist. But my question is why complicate things. You cannot have a RAC cluster without the Oracle Clusterware. Meaning if you install HACMP you will have to install Oracle Clusterware also on top of this. Why complicate the stack... keep it simple.. we have been using Oracle clusteware on AIX without HACMP without any issues so far.
Also you should check www.oracleracsig.org website for some good leads into implementing RAC on AIX.
