Bug in OS2 Email client

The new OS2 email client is pretty slick and works well.
However, it has a number of small bugs and quirks that need addressing.
First, when you delete a message, the browser correctly moves on to open the next message.
However, if the next one is a new message, no matter how long you view it, it never gets marked as read.
You have to open another message, and then go back and hand-open it again.

it also has some issue to get emails.
I am not sure which type of email. it sometimes does not receive some emails which I can still view on browser.

  • Missing features in OS2 Email client

There are two glaringly missing features in the slick OS2 E-mail client.
First, and most annoying when starting up with OS2, there is no "mark all as read" option.
This matters when adding a new but exisitng account, as we are all doing now.
Second, there is no "include me in all replies" option.
This matters when you are reading email on more than one platform, as in, your
desktop normally and your Playbook when travelling.  I need a copy of my replies
made on the Playbook sent to my email account.

A copy of the replies sent from PB are VERY much needed!!!

  • Playbook Email Client crashing on a certain message (OS2.0 / account IMAP, HTML email)

    Hello,
I receive since years emails from finanznachrichten.de. Now on my Playbook 2.0 the email client (not bridge) is crashing when rendering this email. For now I delete the message by Torch before reading emails on the PB. So I think there must be a bug on the PB for a not managed exception. any ideas?
    thanks
    Marc

  • [bug report] Built in email client: charset is alw...

I have to repost this bug report (originally submitted to http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117995 ), since no one replied.
My Nokia E50's built-in email client incorrectly displays multipart messages, i.e. plaintext+html. The program prefers html part over plaintext, but always displays it in ISO-8859-1 codepage, regardless of the "Content-Type: text/html; charset=CHARSET" modifier in the message. For languages other than English this causes total message garbling. Such plaintext+html multipart messages are very widespread.
I guess that all Nokia Symbian smartphones are affected.
    Additional information.
The X-Mailer string: EPOC Email Version 2.10
    *#0000#:
    V 07.36.0.0
    07-09-2007
    RM-170
    Nokia E50
By the way, should I report the bug to Nokia Care rather than Nokia Support forums?

Its funny that you mention BCC'ing because thats the only semi-solution I could come up with as well using the default email client. Also, Mobile Documents is a good 3rd party solution. It has its own limitations, but it will sync to the proper folders. I use it when I don't feel like going through the convoluted BCC process.
If anyone from Nokia programming can see this, full IMAP sync functionality would certainly be a welcome addition in future updates to the email program.  Those of use using the same email account on many different devices consider it a necessity.

  • Two instances of Firefox open when I click on a link within my email client. How can I stop this from happening?

I am running on an iMac OS X 10.6.3 using Firefox 3.6.3 as my default browser and I use Postbox 1.1.5 as my email client. Anytime I click on a link within an email message two instances of Firefox open, one with my home page and one with the site the link was meant for. This happens only when Firefox is not already open. If Firefox is running and a link is clicked on it opens normally within the open instance of Firefox. I have contacted Postbox and am currently awaiting a response to see if they have any suggestions. While this is not a serious issue it is a bit annoying. I have Firefox set to open new links in tabs not new instances of windows, so it shouldn't be that. Any help in getting this to stop would be greatly appreciated.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Not sure, it's been going on for quite awhile.

That is a bug on Mac.
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=531552 - Firefox 3.6b opens two windows when opening external links

  • How do I change email client when clicking mailto links?

I have reformatted my computer about 1 month ago. Everything almost as I had it before. Just 1 thing that is bugging me.
'''My email client is IncrediMail'''. When clicking mailto links in Internet Explorer, my IncrediMail opens as it should do, but in Firefox (which is my preferred default web browser) it opens another tab, wanting me to sign in to GMail to compose my mail.
I do have GMail accounts, '''BUT''' I want Firefox to open up my IncrediMail to compose my emails, just like it did before my reformat.
Any ideas would be gratefully received ;)

To make Firefox use Incredimail for mailto links, do the following.
    1. find the path to Incredimail on my Windows 7 machine it's:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\IncrediMail\Bin\IncMail.exe" (you can find this by right clicking on the desktop Incredimail Icon and selecting Properties. Copy this address))
    2. Type about:config into your Firefox location bar and hit enter. If you've never edited used about:config before, you'll see a warning.
    3. Click "I'll be careful, I promise!" This will bring you to the about:config window.
    4. In the filter field type "gecko". Find the entry gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.0.name;
    5. Right click and select Modify.
    6. Paste or type the Incredimail path in the field provided "C:\Program Files (x86)\IncrediMail\Bin\IncMail.exe" (the qoutes are required)
    7. Make sure that network.protocol-handler.external.mailto; is set to true.
That worked for me after many hours of searching and finding answers posted by individuals who wanted to help but didn't have a clue.

  • Reader email not going to default email client

If I open up an article in 'Reader' in safari, then go to 'Mail this page' it opens up in the OSX Mail program. I use 'Sparrow' and have set this up as the default email client (I know this as I can go to the file menu and 'Mail link to this page' and it will use 'Sparrow' client. Is this a bug in Safari?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
    Quit Safari (Command + Q)
Open the Mac Mail app then from the menu bar click Mail / Preferences then select the General tab.
Make sure: *Default email* reader is set to Sparrow
    Relaunch Safari.

Thunderbird is based on XULRunner, which is a lot of C++. And Thunderbird itself is a mix of C++, JavaScript and XUL.

  • Email sent out with email client not sent & lost on both iPad & iPhone ?

I have noticed that emails sent on my iPhone and now iPad out with the email client such as a picture or a link from Safari have not sent and disappeared as if thy never existed. This seems to be an Apple issue as I have struggled with this all week using all the tips I could find including deleting the email account and turning off the iPhone.  I could then not re-add the email account until I reset the phone. I have this morning sent email fine from within the email software but emailing a link from Safari has just disappeared as if it never existed. This in reliability is making email on these devices useless. It does not appear to be an issue with the imap email (virgin media / blueyonder / gmail account). This would appear to be an iOS 6 bug to a novice like me as it has only started since the update.

Sorry Apple I have decided this is Virgin Media changing settings for their blueyonder accounts and not telling anyone do I have stopped using them for email.

  • Good email client

    Hi all
Does anyone know if there are any good open source java Email client?? I am going to work on a project that has functions similar to email client for instants address book and message management.
I have tried make a search on the net and I only found Columba but it is very buggy and slow. There are lots of open source email servers but not client and I hope experienced people here could recommend me the best email clients that I could work on.
    Thanks in advance!!
    Edmond

They are all buggable, IceMail and Pooka for OpenSource
The idea is not to copy and paste but check their designs. Been their and know their ideas are not the best solutions, especially in the area of Mail Caching
What you do is pull out functions and build yours from scratch to have the best control. No one is going to write a real good mail client and open source with not many bugs??

  • E7 pop3 email client

I can’t get the default email client to behave like a pop3 client. Apart from some small bugs, like if inbox is empty you can’t get to your sent folder, I can send and receive emails properly. However, I can’t find a normal pop3 setting “Leave mail on server”. Which means it will download all new messages from the server, and nothing else.
Now it more or less behaves like a mapi client and syncs against the server and removes all messages from the inbox that I have deleted from the server. But I want to have the messages on the phone until I delete them.
Any email program out there that I can use on the Nokia E7 that can be used as a normal pop3 client?
Apart from this email problem I would say that Nokia E7 is the best phone I have had so far. If I only could get the Nokia E7 hardware and use N900 software it would be perfect

So I was told also, but....
Besides this bug with pop3 mail, which only a complete idiot can produce, there are a lot of others.
Another thing is that except a load of stupid games there is no useful software to download (IP tools, remote access, and so on,,,,)
Hardware is fairly good and if only I could  upload Android instead of the current garbage.....
    Regards
While I agree that more tools always are nice, things are actually not all that dark. For remote access you have Putty, which is actually better than anything available for Android. Ping, as well as some limited other tools are available in the Nokia Labs connectivity manager program.
Just as a couple of examples... There are more, although in many areas I do find more nice tools for other platforms.

  • Firefox will not open my email client when I click on a "mailto" link on any website. How can I fix this.

Anytime I drag my cursor across, or try to click on a "mailto" email link on any webpage, it will display an incorrect e-mail address (it seems to default to one in particular). It will not open a new e-mail window and if I "copy e-mail address" it's the wrong one. I've tried everything and was hoping with new updates the problem would solve itself but obviously it hasn't.
HELP ! This is driving me CRAZY
