Bug in report CKDBSZ in Oracle Designer 2.1.2

In that report (Database Table and Index Size Estimate) there's
the following bug: the report doesn't compute estimates of
indexes belonging to tablespaces other than those from their
corresponding tables.
Does anyone know if Oracle Corporation has corrected the
problem? If not, does anyone have a corrected version from this
report?
Thank you!

  • Custom reports in Oracle Designer - HELP!

    I have a need to write some custom reports in Oracle Designer. I know all the information is in the repository but don't know how to get it out.
    Would anyone happen to know where I can get my hands on an ER diagram depicting the relationships across repository tables (meta model)?!

    Start the RON. Choose a workarea. Select an object (table definition, view definition etc). Now open the properties. Select a line in the properties window and press F5. Now choose the "Model" button.
    IExplorer is opened with information on the View in which these objects can be found.

  • Error while creating a report that uses Oracle OCI JDBC connectivity

    Please let me know why my CR and LF characters are removed from my forum posting *****
    Hi,
    I was trying to create a report that uses Oracle OCI JDBC connectivity. I am using Eclipse3.4 download from "cr4e-all-in-one-win_2.0.2.zip".  I have successfully created a JDBC OCI connection.
    The connection parameters are given below:
    URL: jdbc:oracle:oci8:@xe
    Database: xe
    username: <userName>
    password: <password>
    I have tested the above connection in Data source Explorer and it works fine!!!
    But I am getting the following error when I drag-and-drop a table from the list of tables. Not sure what I am missing here?  Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi Ted,
    Thanks for the feedback. I was able to create a report in Creystal Reports Designer 2008 using OCI.  It is not allowing only in the Eclipse plugin. In our environment we are not allowed to user Oracle thin connections and ONLY OCI is allowed.
    1) Can you please let me know if there is a way to do this?
    2) Will it allow data sources using native database driver?
    3) If so, can I use JRC to create these reports from a desktop java program?
    Thanks & Regards

  • Oracle Designer 10g With Oracle 11g DB possible

    Hi,
    Please clarify my below query,
    we are currently using oracle designer 10g and deploying the components to production DB which is in oracle 9i, We are planning to migrate to oracle supported version 11g DB, since oracle designer 11g is not there we would be sticking to oracle 10g itself, Now my question is, will we be having issues or road blocks with this combination Oracle designer 10g and Oracle 11g DB???
    Regards
    Bala

    @Erik
    Don't have a doc id. You have to go to the certication tab in My Oracle Support. Search for Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 there you will find the three supported database version.
    Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 is certified with Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0 on Microsoft Windows (32-bit) XP
    Oracle Designer 10.1.2.6.0 with Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0

    @Bala
    Colleagues of mine have imported a designer repository inside 11gR2 and where not able to change objects inside the repository. When they imported the same designer dump inside an 11gR1 database it worked fine.
    In the other post (Re: 11G compatibility it is also written that there are some major bugs and those bugs will not be fixed.

  • BUG for sort column with Oracle 11g and APEX 3.2

    I have BUG in Report region(Oracle 11g and APEX 3.2). if i have more than 746 Char for my column's value and i want to sort them, this error appear
    Report error :
    ORA-00910: specified length too long for its datatype.
    But in an other environement in Oracle 10g and apex 3.2, with the same data. I have no BUG.
    Somebody have an idea for a possible solution to this problem???

    Again, I may just be wasting your time...but if I have XDB problems...especially with the password, I do the following:
    1. Change your working directory to $ORACLE_HOME/apex.
    2. Start SQL*Plus and connect to the database where Oracle Application Express is installed as SYS.
    3. Run apxconf.sql
    > @apxconf
    4. When prompted, enter a password for the Oracle Application Express Admin account.
    5. When prompted, enter the port for the Oracle XML DB HTTP server. (default port being, of course,8080).
    6. Unlock the ANONYMOUS account
    > ALTER USER ANONYMOUS ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
    7. If needed, I do the SETHTTPPORT command mentioned before...
    Since I'm using the Oracle 11g, with embedded PL/SQL server, I have no idea if this is the same for 10g us OHS?
    Hope that helps!

  • Modelling databases in Oracle Designer environment

    Today I had laboratory's which subject was: "Modelling data and designing databases scheme in Oracle Designer environment" and I have to make a report for tommorow. I can't find some answers for questions which our Professor told us to include in the report. I would be very grateful if enyone here can help me.
    1) How looks in SQL code definition of the key of the table if relationship have PRIMARY UID attribute?
    2) Is there any difference in SQL code between references replying to transferable and not transferable relationships
    3) Why some tables have more columns than number of attributes in entities (entities contains the same things that tables)?
    My english isn't perfect, sorry for that. But I hope that I wrote that wuestions correctly.
    Thanks for any help.

    1) a primary UID is a primary key in SQL
    2) No.
    3) OD entity models don't include inherited referential key attributes, whereas the SQL tables (obviously) require them.

    This problem occurs because Oracle9i import and export utilities are not
    compatible with an Oracle 8.1.7 database. This not a bug but an
    Oracle9i design feature.
    Workaround:
    To install Oracle SCM on an Oracle 8.1.7 database, you will first need to
    install Oracle 8.1.7 import and export utilities in a separate Oracle
    Home. The registry variables EXECUTE_IMPORT and EXECUTE_EXPORT need to be
    changed to point to these 8.1.7 import and export
    utilities instead of to the Oracle9i versions. These variables are found under
    the key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\REPOS61
    Note that when installing the 8.1.7 import and export utilities, the following
    error may be encountered:
    There is no oracle.swd.jre 1.1.8.10
    The workaround here is to use the Oracle Universal Installer installed onto
    your hard disk with the Oracle9i install, to install the Oracle 8.1.7
    components.
    Hope this helps

  • Invoking reports from menu in designer 10.1.2

    Hello,
    i'am working on a 6 to 10g migration and have some problems whith the menu that invoke reports.
    It seems that my predecessor has use the migration utility to migrate the menu.
    So that the call to run_product where change to rp2rro_run_product.
    But when i try to generate it with designer the call is CGNV$INVOKE_REPORT
    1) Is there a possibility to change some generating preferences to have the rp2rro_run_product call instead of CGNV$INVOKE_REPORT?
    2) When i compile the generated menu in windows the CGNV$INVOKE_REPORT compiles fine but when i move it to the linux server et try to recompile it failed saying that CGNV$INVOKE_REPORT must be declared ?
    I check that the OFGNAVL and the OFGMNL pll are attached and in the path for compilation
    Can someone help me please ?
    Regards
    Jean-Yves

    Thanks for your response and sorry for late feedback.
    I tried to set MNUDRC but was unsuccessful.
    It seems that the MNUDRC preference doesn't work in 10g refering to the documentation.
    Default:     RUN_PRODUCT (REPORTS, '<MODULE>',SYNCHRONOUS,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,'','');
    Values:     Up to 240 characters
    Levels:     Container, Module
    Category:     Menu - Gen Options
    In Oracle Designer 6i only, use this preference to specify the command to run a report from a generated menu item if the repository module's Command Line property is not set or if the MNUUCL preference is set to No.
    For more information about using this preference, refer to Setting a menu item's Menu Item Code property.
    In Oracle9i Designer, this preference is not used. For the alternative preferences to use, see Report invocation preferences.
    Related preferences
    MNUUCL
    I also tried the 'Command line' property of the report with not more success.
    For the moment, I can't generate the menu with appropriate rp2rro command line for the reports. Is there a way to achieve this?

    Jean-Yves

  • Error installing Oracle Designer/SCM Release 9.0.2.6 patch

    Hi.
    I am trying to install Oracle Designer/SCM Release 9.0.2.6 patch. I've already installed Oracle 9i Forms and Reports 9.0.2.1.0 (patch 2705870) and 9.0.2.3.0 (patch 3129219). The Oracle Installer version is 2.2.0.18.0, but when I try to install Designer/SCM Release 9.0.2.6.0, which uses Oracle Installer version is 2.3.0.0.0, I get the following error in my hs_err log file:

  • Installing support for Oracle Designer Objects in an existing repository

    We have been using SCM to store Forms and other files
    for our development work.
    Now I want to use Repository Reports in the Repository
    Object Navigator, this requires me to install support
    for Oracle Designer Objects.
    Can I use the Repository Administration Utility and
    Install support for Oracle Designer Objects
    without effecting the existing repository data?
    (I've tried metalink but keep getting TCP Error
    while logging the TAR).
    Cheers
    Sam

    How can i install oracle designer and prepare the repository at first on my personal my pc

  • Retire Oracle Designer development and continue with just using Forms 11

    Hi,
    The company I am working for is taking over responsibility for an Oracle Designer 10 application.
    Due to Oracle Designer is an outdated development environment we are looking for potential solutions how to get rid of Designer without completely redeveloping or replacing the application.
    One options we thought about is to switch off Designer and only continuing to use Oracle Forms 11.
    Do anyone of you have experience in this area which you would like to share?
    Best regards,
    Marco

    There are a lot of case generated (CG$) trigger and procedures used in the Forms. For us the code seems to be very complex and hard to read.
    But, also some of them seems to be never used or it is just the statement "null" in it.
    We thought about SQL Developer Data Modeler to capture most of the Designer stuff. But still there is the technical documentation that is not fully supported by SDDM. Did anyone migrate these Designer documentation to an other tool? If yes, to which one and how? We tried the SDDM Report functionality to capture some of the documentation, but also these reports do not contain everything that Designer could provide.
    There are also "Preference Sets" used in Designer and we are wondering how to migrate these to Forms Builder. Did anyone migrate these preference sets to Forms Builder in the past and has some experiences/examples/recommendations about that? We thought about one "global" form that could contain these preference sets and then inherit them.
    There are also the Functional Hirarchie Diagrams in Designer, could they migrated to Forms or SDDM in any way? Or do we need to maintain these diagrams manually in a tool like Word or Visio?
    If we could capture all the things mentioned above, we would like to continue just with Oracle Forms Builder 11gR2 in combination with other tools like SQL Developer and Data Modeler and if no other solution could be find out with some manual maintained documents.
    For all recommendations and tips we are very interested and we would thank you all very much!

  • Error when trying to copy a work area in Oracle designer

    In oracle designer,I tried to copy a work area by selecting.
    File-->>Change work area.
    Then from the "Work area" pop up window,I selected the new option.
    In the Create work area wizard i chose "Copy a work area" and gave the Name ,description and the work area to be copied.
    When i click the finish button,I am getting the following error.
    "CDR-01005: Workarea compilation failed: ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows. "
    Please let me know how to copy a work area in Oracle designer.
    Thanks in advance.

    Note 277801.1
    Views Return Records From The Wastebasket.
    Possible Symptoms
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1) executing a SELECT FROM CI_... views return more rows than expected.
    2) SELECT ... INTO ... FROM CI_... views raises error
    ORA-1422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows.
    3) Deleting an object from the repository fails with the following errors:
    RME-00020: Internal API error -
    ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows
    ORA-06512: at "<repos_owner>.JR_NAME", line 3680
    ORA-06512: at "<repos_owner>.JR_NAME", line 4138
    ORA-06512: at "<repos_owner>.JR_ERROR", line 193
    ORA-06512: at "<repos_owner>.SDD_TAB_D", line 961
    ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
    ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger '<repos_owner>.SDD_TAB_D'
    NB: the name of the trigger (SDD_TAB_D in the above example) will vary
    depending on the object type you are deleting
    4) Compilation of a Workarea fails with the following errors:
    CDR-01005: Workarea compilation failed:
    ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows.
    Workaround
    ~~~~~~~~~~
    For symptoms 1 and 2, define the context of a workarea before selecting from
    the CI_... views:
    exec jr_context.set_workarea ('<Workarea Name>');
    For the other symptoms, the errors are caused by RDBMS bugs that were fixed
    in the last patch set releases of databases.
    We recommend that you upgrade to a version of the database that is certified
    with the release of Designer that you are using.
    See Note 60705.1 for details
