Bug in Signatures preventing sending of mail?

When I send mail using a signature, the message leaves as if it was sent (according to the Mail Activity bar) but it +never arrives at its destination+. I receive +no alert+ that the mail was not sent, and no bounce backs or error messages.
If I delete the signature on the message, the mail goes through perfectly.
What is this? I'm a former Eudora user who has never had any problem like this ever before. I've spent the past three days going back and forth between ISP, hosting company and my Mac to sort this out, only to discover this signature issue as a result of a random choice to delete the signature one time.
Has anyone encountered this before? Are there certain characters or spaces, or other limitations in a sig file which would interfere with a message being sent?

{quote:title=Ernie Stamper wrote:}I would suspect you are using Rich Text Format, and that in your Signature you also use RTF, and overall there are two or more different fonts or font sizes?{quote}
No.... the font and size are matched in both sig and body. What is so odd about this is that I get no messages (Daemons, bounces, etc.) that the message was ever rejected, yet it did not arrive at the destination. It behaves exactly as if it was sent, and ends up in the appropriate Sent box, but never arrives.
As for the SPAM aspect, well... I switched off all of the SPAM filters on that account except for A/VIRUS, and still no luck when sending from the account to itself.
I've never seen anything like this, and am totally baffled. To make this even more bizarre, I just added a sig on another account, and it went through fine.
Are there any options here?

  • Lookign for solution send mail with digital signature or send to Exchange

    Hello!
    Id need to find solution to send generated mail in database to outside and add digital signature to everyone
    1 - maybe using mapi protocol to connect to exchange and send
    2 - send by smtp but first need add digital signature to mail
    any solution?

    Hi,
    I don't think  that SCOT is able to send encrypted mails.
    You could, maybe, install an SMTP relay server that would encrypt the emails before resending on the internet.
    Don't forget that using encrypted mail will generate a lot of work to manage the exchange of public keys.
    My opinion is that using mail to send payslip is a bad solution.
    In my company we receive an uncrypted email that tell us that our payslip is available in our (company supplied) e-safe account.
    Regards,
    Olivier

  • Error while sending a mail using UTP_MAIL package in Oracle 10g

    Hi,
    We are using UTP_MAIL package to send a mail from Oracle 10g.We have follwed the following steps ...
    SQL> connect sys/password as sysdba
    Connected.
    SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlmail.sql
    Package created.
    Synonym created.
    SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME /rdbms/admin/prvtmail.plb
    Package body created.
    SQL > alter system set smtp_out_server = '<mail_server_ip:25>' scope =spfile;
    System altered..
    Now we try the code
    begin
    utl_mail.send(
    sender => 'sender's mail',
    recipients => 'receiver mail',
    CC => 'optional',
    subject => 'Testing utl_mail',

    end;
    But we get the following error...

    We also tried connecting to the mail server through telnet .But it is not getting connected..
    Please help us to solve the issue.

    From your own posting you may have the clue, if you try to access your mail server through telnet and it is not successful, it means the service is down or there are networking issues.
    On pre 10gR2 versions there was a bug 4083461.8. It could affect you if you are on 10gR1
    "Bug 4083461 - UTL_SMTP.OPEN_CONNECTION in shared server fails with ORA-29278 Doc ID:      Note:4083461.8"
    This was fixed on 10gR2 base and on 9.2.0.8.0

    Hi Mani,
    The A tag using the MailTo: can only work with a client mail program. There's no way to send an e-mail from the server using it.
    You can specify Subject and Body texts within the A tag, but you cannot specify the from and to addresses.
    In order to send e-mail from the server, you'd need to use either an app-part or custom web part. I don't think you can do it through CSOM.
    Paul.
    EDIT: It looks like you can do it through C# CSOM, but that would require an AppPart. I can't see SendEmail in any of the JavaScript based CSOM files.

  • [SOLVED] XFCE + Thunar: "Send to" mail recipient doesn't work

    Hi all,
    I'm not able to use the "Send to" -> "Mail recipient" Thunar's feature. Right-clicking on a file (or a group of files) and selecting the option, the following error is returned:
    Failed to execute default Mail Reader. Input/output error.
    I use Thunderbird as e-mail client (correctly configured into the "Preferred applications"), but the same happens with Sylpheed too, so I think this isn't an application-related issue.
    Any hints?

    I found the following:

    It's not very clear to me if this is an Arch or Thunar or Exo bug, anyway installing 'perl-uri' works for me.

    From which account does the email not send?  When sending from an account, the iPad will first try to use the aoutgoing server for that account.  If it can't it will try the other accounts listed.in the setting on the iPad for that account.  It soulds like the server for the account is not working and that the alternate server is resjecting the messag since it did not originate ffrom the account associated with that server,  That is to prevent sending spam.

  • Weird problem-w/ aol mail,i can recieve and reply,but can not send new mail

    everything is set up, i read the instructions on that site to help me set it up, im recieving mail, and i can even reply, but when i try to send new mail it rejects the smtp. outgoing mail server...any suggestions?

    Does resetting include deleting and recreating the AOL SMTP server?
    Deleting an SMTP server requires selecting Edit Server List from the SMTP server selection pop-up menu.
    ISP is short for Internet Service Provider. Are you using AOL as your ISP for connecting to the internet?
    Unless AOL is used as your ISP, your ISP may have made recent changes regarding the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network. Most, if not all ISPs have restrictions regarding the use of SMTP servers outside of their network on Port 25. Using Port 587 usually resolves any such restrictions but some ISPs block the use of all SMTP servers outside of their network regardless. These restriction are in place as part of an overall effort to prevent or reduce spam eminating from the ISP's domain.
    Since you have switched back and forth between every option available, I suggest deleting and recreating AOL's SMTP server first (if you haven't already done so) and if this didn't work, deleting and recreating this AOL account in Mail.
    If neither works and AOL is not your ISP used for connecting to the internet and you are accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP, try selecting/using your ISP's SMTP server to send mail with your AOL account.
    If this works, I would contact your ISP's technical support to inquire about any recent changes implemented regarding the use of SMTP servers outside of their network or put in another way, using an SMTP server that is not provided by your ISP.
    The last resort is targeting the Mail.app preference file which stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences.
    I try to avoid saying never in regards to computers but I doubt your hard drive replacement has anything to do with this.

  • Digital signature and certificates on Mail

    Hello All,
    I'm new using mac and i have a token with my digital certificate. So i wanna know:
    How can i use subscribe or use a digital signature on Mail. How can i use my certificate to sign the message.
    Thanks,
    Altemir Pacheco

    Altemir ... It's important that the certificate has been created for the e-mail address you want to use as sender e-mail. Your certificate needs to be imported into keychain. Keychain only accepts certificates in a number of formats, among them .p12. You can import in a number of ways, you can for example drop your .p12 file (the certificate) on the keychain icon. Then open keychain and check whether the certificate is visible under "my certificates". It has to appear there and it has to show as "valid" and not as "expired". Control-click on the certificate and set-up a new preferred identity for your e-mail address (I am not sure whether this step actually does any difference but give it a try). Close mail.app and restart mail.app. When you now create a new e-mail and you choose as sender e-mail the e-mail address for which you have the certificate then you should see on the right side, just below the subject line a little symbol which you can click on for activating the signature for the e-mail your writing. Hope all this works.

  • When sending e-mail, a message says that the sent folder is full,-- even though it is not-- however the mail still gets sent. No problem sending mail to myself

    I am running Thunderbird version 33.1 Recently, when sending e-mail, I get an error message indicating that the sent folder is full and that I should empty or compress it to fix the problem-- so I emptied it-- problem remains. Also, there is no record of sending the e-mail in the sent folder, even though the mail has been sent. No such problems occur when I send mail to myself.
    Any suggestions ???

    If you deleted some of the messages you have done one half of the process. Deleting a message just marks it for deletion and hides it from view. You have to COMPACT the folder to actually delete the messages and free up the space.
    I agree that Thunderbird did a poor job naming this process because it is the subject of much misunderstanding.
    Read about compacting here.

  • Send/receive mail

    Our application needs to send/receive mails from a mail server in NT
    environment. Does forte provide SMTP and POP3 protocol support(libraries)
    so that we can use external connection class to connect to the server and send/
    receive mails or do we have to use third party controls. Any help would be
    appreciated.

    I think with the .mac account that is a known bug, and just click ok, at least that is what I do. I would assume the same with your cable ISP. Let's hope that is solved with 10.5.2
    As for your accounts being offline I also get the same behavior, either when I reboot my internet connection but Mail is still opened or randomly for certain accounts. I have only found that either waiting for a while or quitting Mail and opening again will work. Again, let's hope whatever strange behavior here is fixed with 10.5.2
    I know I am not offering any solution here, just confirming that others are experiencing the same behavior.
    hope this helps

  • Signatures in mac os mail

    Hi Guys,
    Looking for some help here. How can I set my signature in mail to repeat every time I send a mail including each time a reply to some one in the same email???
    Your help would be very much appreciated.....
    Thanks in advance.
    Shaun

    It works that way in my Mail. This is just a temporary workaround, but in the right when you are replying, you can select what signature to use, while you're making an e-mail.
    EDIT: With no special settings, it automatically puts the signature at the bottom of every e-mail I send-whether I made it, I'm replying, or I'm forwarding.

    Also, and although possibly not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. • Sending Yahoo Mail With Mail App DOA?

    I think with Yahoo's new DMARC rules it renders our mail app useless.
    Email service providers can't send to / from Yahoo addresses
    Yahoo recently changed our DMARC policy to proactively protect our users from increasing email forgery spam. This is an important step to secure our users’ email identities from being used by unauthorized senders.  If you're an email service provider (ESP), here's information about why your messages will be rejected due to failed authentication.
    Why are my emails bouncing?
    Yahoo recently updated the DMARC record with "p=reject" for the "yahoo.com" domain.
    This means all DMARC compliant mail receivers (including Yahoo, Hotmail, and Gmail) are now bouncing emails sent as "@yahoo.com" addresses that aren't sent through Yahoo servers. Any messages without a proper Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) signature or Sender Policy Framework (SPF) alignment will be rejected.
    ESPs who use their customers' "@yahoo.com" address as the "From" address to send messages are impacted by this change.
    Can someone more tech proficient translate?

    iwaveatcows,
    At this time, there is no setting to disable the automatic inclusion of the original message. If you would like to see that feature in the future, you can submit feedback at:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
    If you do not want the original message included as part of your reply, you can manually delete the part you do not want included before you send your message.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • My mail program on my macbook pro suddenly won't let me send e-mails?

    My mail program on my macbook pro suddenly won't let me send e-mails even though I can receive e-mails. I have checked with the connection doctor and it shows me everything is fine. The program haas been running perfectly fine for the last year, but now its bugging out. Can anyone give me any tipe on how to fix this? Thank you.

    The problem is one of the following:
    Your SMTP server is provided by a carrier which only allows the outgoing mail server to be used when you are connected to their network. Receiving emails will always work, but sending emails will only work when you are connected via their connection;
    Your SMTP server is down - contact your email provider
