Bug in skype

Hello,
I write four languages, the language changes I make a shortcut through the keyboard, for example: CTRL + 1 - one language, CTRL + 2 - second language, CTRL + 3 third language and those ..
What happened during a chat on Skype Whenever I do CTRL + any number, Skype starts to freeze.
Skype version : 7.3.0.101
Windows version: windows 10 pro technical preview. Build 10041

Hello
I have the latest 5.9 version on my Iphone 5s
and I couldn't help but notice a strange bug.
When I turn on Skype,
at first everyone is offline (just loading I guess),
then I see some green lights appear
at the bottom of the profile pictures of those that are online
(normal up to this point).
The strange bug is that in the case of one of my contacts
whenever i turn on skype the green light appears for 3 seconds and then disappears.
I find this strange since the green circles of other contacts that are online remain
whereas this contact's green circle always disappears after couple of seconds,
which leaves me wondering if this contact has blocked me.
After I noticed this strange bug I turned skype on and off numerous times
to see if the same thing happens everytime and indeed it does.
I could not ask the contact directly since we are not in good terms
and I cannot imagine this contact going offline everytime I go online.
So why is this happening?
Is it a sign that the contact has blocked me?

the same thing happens to me with one of my contacts... Tried asking Skype about it but they had no useful response for me. Did you ever figure it out?

Possible Update Bug in Skype

Description:
You sign up for Skype with some email X, and later change that email to another email Y. After the update, if someone tries to search for you with the old email X, they can still find you!! If they try the new email Y, they will not find you. I changed the primary email. It seems like if you sign up with an email and then update it later, Skype will still keep the original for search purposes.
This is a serious bug. Are there any fixes for it?

I did ask for clarification on this: it really is only a matter of time before the updates cross-reference and updates process in Skype.
Legacy Skype accounts used account names rather than e-mail addresses. However, one's e-mail address used as a Skype account's registered e-mail address is key to receiving account correspondence from Skype as well as re-setting an account password amongst other account-related uses.

Possible Bug in Skype Kindle Fire HD

After a recent upgrade to Skype, it has stopped detecting the # key press while in call mode. In some IVR numbers I have to press the # key to make my choices during the call.
I have checked the same with the Skype app on my other Android phones, it is working fine. Looks like this issue is with Kindle Fire HD only.
Anybody faced this issue? any fix in the pipeline?

Bug report: Skype signing off during call

Using Lumia 1020 with Cyan + 8.1.1 DP, it has happened a few times.
All of a sudden in the middle of a video call, Skype would show signing in and then just freeze. The call keeps going on (top bar), and only a restart would help. Drains battery quickly as well.

Bug Report: New conversation window stills the sys...

Bug Report: Skype Desktop: New conversation window stills the system/keyboard focus.
When the UI is in multi-window mode and a conversation window pops up (due for example to a newly received chat message), that window steals the system/keyboard focus, even though it appears in a minimized state in the Windows taskbar. And this should not happen by default, because it is impractical (especially for screen reader users). And it didn't happen in Skype 6.21 and earlier. But since the new UI was introduced officially in Skype 7.0, it started happening constantly.
Steps to reproduce it:
1. From "View" menu, activate the "Split Window View", if it is not already enabled.
2. From Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM settings, enable "Open a new window when I receive a new message in Split Window View", if it is not already enabled.
3. From Tools -> Options -> Advanced, activate "Enable accessible mode", if it is not already enabled.
4. Activate the "Save" button, to save the changes.
5. Close all windows, related to Skype. You may keep only the main window opened.
6. Move the system focus to another application.
7. Tell someone to send you a chat message. When the message arrives and the conversation window pops up minimized in the Windows Taskbar, everything seams to be as it should. A few seconds after that however, the system/keyboard focus gets moved to that new conversation window, even though it is neither restored/maximized (it is minimized), nor it is visible on the screen (except as a button in the taskbar).
Actual results:
When a new conversation window pops up in the Windows taskbar, it stills the system/keyboard focus to itself from the currently focused application.
Expected results:
Skype's popping up new conversation windows should not still the system/keyboard focus to themselfs from the currently focused application.
Test environment:
- Operating system: Windows 8.1 Pro N, 64-bit, in Bulgarian with all locale settings set to "Bulgarian".
- Skype version: 7.0.0.102 for Desktop.

This is a known problem, but Skype have not given us an estimated time for a fix.
Traditionally, Skype updates have been roughly monthly, so we are due a new version sometime soon. Many of us here are hoping that is has a bunch of fixes for the UI, the focus problem being one of them.

Bad quality audio and video with Skype

Hi,
while making a Skype video call via WiFi using my Z1 Compact my conversion partner complained about the bad audio (very low) and video (poor resolution) quality. I than changed to IPhone 4s from my wife and my conversion partner said the quality was much better.
As I was using the same network the problem cannot lay on the connection.
Is there a known sw bug using Skype on the Z1 Compact?
My skype version: 4.9.0.45564.

If you only have these issues regarding video and audio quality when using Skype then you would be best to speak with the developer of that application as they would keep their own records of such issues.

Skype does not use the default browser.

I DONT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH BING. GETTING SICK AND TIRED OF SKYPE CHANGING MY SEARCH ENGINE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY GIVE ME AN OPTION AND I REFUSE. THIS TELLS ME THAT THIS IS INTENTIONAL AND NOT A BUG.

Skype has an optional make Bing my search engine selection. It's never set Bing as my search engine if I didn't keep it selected thought it may have updated the list of available search providers (currently my list is Bing, Yahoo, and Google, though I could add more) in case I change my mind. Skype doesn't install anything from Yahoo. If something like that was installed it came from another installer. Skype uses IE's engine in the background but that shouldn't affect your default browser. If you find some add activity occurring make sure your IE is up to date and reset IE to it's defaults. This will ensure the IE engine is up to date and that everything is reset properly. After an IE reset you can set your default browser back to your browser of choice. Download and install the latest IE (if not already updated)

Skype Messages Out Of Order.

This has for some reason only started within the past few hours, and i have never experienced this issue in the past, for some reason while sending messages they are out of order and look something like this:
Them: Message #8
Them message #10
Me: Message #1
Them: Message #6 appears here.
Them: Message #2
Them: Message #4 appears here.
Me: Message #3
Me: Message #5
Me: Message #7
Me: Message #9
Makes it impossible to have a conversation as i have to scan over dozens of messages to try to find a new one that has all of a sudden appeared, i have tried searching for solutions and the only one i found was "Sync time and date" i have updated my time and date to make sure but they were never out of sync to begin with.

IPod and Skype

I'm considering an iPod touch but I want to ask some questions about it concerning the use of Skype.
I have a mono (for one ear), wired head set with mic. The kind you'd use with a cell phone. Will that work with the new 64Gig iPod touch and Skype? I've heard the new ear buds from Apple will work but I don't want to have fumble around trying to get those in my ears just to answer the phone.
Does the Skype app have to be in focus (foreground) to be notified of incoming calls? I know it has to be loaded but can I have other applications running too and have the Skype app in the background and still receive calls?

Yeah, I use Skype as my phone. No land lines. I need something I can treat that way. I still have my trusty Phillips phone. It's okay, not great, but okay. Making and Receiving calls would be requirements and I wouldn't want to have to worry about Skype not being in the foreground. That's kind of a major bug on Skype's part I think.
I was looking to load Skype on the iPhone and use that in place of the Phillips. That's probably asking too much of the device.
Thanks much for the response though. I'll just have to look for another reason to buy an iPod.

Skype Keep re-signing in after Log Out - Yosemite 7.1

This is an odd situation Skype was working fine, I have to switch between accounts frequently and so it was ok. But suddenly yesterday after I select log out from de menu, Skype closes it self and reopen automatically and log in with the same account, without prompting any credentials. I already uninstalled and reinstalled without luck. Don’t know what to do. Also I updated to the latest 7.1 but same behavior.

I have figured out what is causing this issue and submitted the following bug report to Skype. Before they release an updated version of Skype for Mac we'll have to manually clear the cache in Safari (see my bug report below). Hope this helps in the interim. BUG (7.0.80.100): Incorrect date labels on chat me...

A rather small bug on Skype 7.0.80.100; I've only tested on Windows 8.1 Pro x86_64.
When a chat window is left open overnight, the previous day may still display "Today" when the new day arrives. Screenshot follows (personal information removed):
Closing and reopening the chat window has the effect of refreshing the labels with the proper day.

Your version is not up to date (.100 vs .102) . I suggest you upgrade to the latest version to see if the problem still occurs.

Skype - only one call :(

Hi.
I have installed Skype and I think I have working mic. And so when I start Skype I can call only to one man, but when I'm trying to call to another one then I get: Problems with sound device and if I want to call to somebody I must to restart skype. Any suggestion what is bad there?

I cannot log in to skype using one of 2 computers

I'm using 2 pc's. From one i'm login automatticaly to skype, but from other it is impossible, because skype ask me to write password, which is somehow not correct. When i'm try to go to Problems with login? There ask to enter my e-mail adress, when i'm write my e-mail i get such answer: "Sorry but that email address is not in our records, please try again."

Are you sure Skype is completely closed before trying to login again?
There's a bug in Skype that makes it run in the background but can't connect, and any newer processes will try to run through the same stuck instance. It happens about every hours on my machine where Skype will either silently disconnect, freeze or segfault and I have to kill it and restart it. Exiting it normally doesn't work, I have to really kill it. Otherwise, it does the same as you, spinner forever.
Try this:
killall -9 skype
skype
