Bug Indesign : unable to access control panels icons

Hello,
I bought 4 years ago Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Standard. I just changed the PC. So I disabled the version installed on my old PC and install and enabled more on my new pc release. Now, I meet two problems:
- In InDesign, most tools located on the left panels, right and top of his reach. The boxes are not clickable. FYI, my screen at a resolution of 3200 x 1800.
- I wanted to install the updates hoping that it would correct the bug. But every time I try, it crashes before the end of the installation with the following message:
"The installation of the following updates failed. If you want to install, correct the problems below, then try again.
Adobe update InDesign CS5 7.0.4
An error occurred while downloading the update. Quit and try again later. "
The problem recurs every time when I get to the download.
What do you do? Thank you for your help.

thank you so much! It works.
And the second problem? You see what it can come: I can not install updates. Every time I try, it crashes before the end of the installation with the following message:
"The installation of the following updates failed. If you want to install, correct the problems below, then try again.
Adobe update InDesign CS5 7.0.4
An error occurred while downloading the update. Quit and try again later. "
The problem recurs every time when I get to the download.

  • OffficeJet 6500A. Unable to access control panel in Windows8

I have a new laptop and have downloaded the full feature HP software. The test print and scan appeared to work correctly. However I cant find how to access the control panel on my desktop. It hasnt created an icon in my windows8 start pages.
I have a button that says HP Printer Control that allowsme to purchase ink and says my printer is off-line. There are no scanning options.
How do I access the full print/scan control panel or, better still, link it to the Printer Control button.
    Thanks
    This question was solved.

    Hi SaraLK,
I can help you find the scanning program. From the Start screen or Tile screen, without clicking on anything, start typing HP. You should see the Officejet 6500a, if not click on Files and it should appear. When you click on the Officejet 6500a the Printer Assistance will open, you could also right click on the icon and pin it to the taskbar so that it is always available right form the desktop.
Here is another way you can Create Windows 8 Taskbar Shortcuts for Your Favorite Programs. Please take no offense to the referenced site, it helps make everything easier!  I use it all the time.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to access control panel

Please can anyone help me with this please?
I am also unable to do a windows update.
    Please can anyone help me?
    Thank you,
    Dvtrv

    Hi
You can start the control panel using the command: +panel+
Type this is the search box and presses enter.
But it seems that there is something wrong with the OS and maybe you should try to repair the OS.
Power up the unit and press F8.
Then choose Repair my Computer and in new window choose the repair option.

  • Unspecified error when trying to access Control Panel

I am currently setting up Remote Desktop Services on Server 2012 and I have enabled the policy
"Prohibit access to Control Panel and PC settings".
When a user clicks on the Control Panel icon, or anything else that points to Control Panel (Screen Resolution, Personalize) they get the normal error of
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrcitions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" which is fine and is expected, but they then get the error,
    "Unspecified error".
Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi Tom,
Have you enabled the option to display "Personalization" in Group Policy?
This is because "Personalization" option is linked to Control Panel, so if you prohibit access to control panel, and right click on the desktop select "Personalize", it results in the "Unspecified Error".

  • I cant access control panel of wap4410n

just i purchase cisco access point and I tried to access control panel to setup wireless security but the page i issued not display 192.168.1.245, there is any wayes to connet device web base ??

To help answer your question the device only has the ip address of: 192.168.1.245 if it is unable to get an address DHCP. If you connect your device to a router or switch and power the device on if there is a DHCP server on the network it will assign the wap4410n an IP Address. The easiest way to configure the device is to power the device on connect to nothing. After the device has power on change you laptop or PC to an IP Address on the same subnet so for example 192.168.1.11. and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and you do not need to put a gateway.
After this is done connect the wap4410 directly to your pc or laptop with an ethernet cable. Next got to Internet explorer or Firefox and pull in the address bar put in the ip address of the wap4410n 192.168.1.245 and hit enter. This will allow you access to the device and you can change it to a static ip address that is on your network. After changing it to an IP address on your network you can now go back and plug the device in to your network and it will stay on the ip address that you set for the device.
Change your laptop or pc back to dhcp after changing it back plug it back into your network and you will be able to access and setup the wireless and security setting on the wap4410n. Just by going to the ip address that you setup static for the device. The other way if you just plug it directly to your network some router have the option so you are able to see the dhcp client address. If your router has this function you can look there and will be able to see what ip address the wap4410n has if you choose not to connect directly to the device and set a static ip address. Hopefully this has been helpful for you.

  • Messed Up Control Panel Icons In OS 9

I have a PowerMac G4 which has OS X and OS 9 installed, and recently performed a reformat and fresh install of OS X (Tiger).  While doing so, I copied over my OS 9.2.2 installation to another external hard drive, and copied it back after I had set up OS X again.  But now some of the icons in the control panel are messed up, some are just blank control panel icons as shown in the link below.  How can I fix this, without having to reinstall hopefully?  I've tried rebuilding the desktop with no success.

    Hi, Dave -
It's been a long while since I delved into using ResEdit to 'fix' (or experiment with changing) things in programs. Fired up my OS 9 machine and could not find where precisely to do that using ResEdit. File Buddy makes many things a lot easier in OS 9.
Using ResEdit - open ResEdit, then use the Open item in its File menu, navigate to the item you want to get into and select/open it. You are presented with an array of various resources (ResEdit = Resource Editor). Double-click a resource to open it. Many of the available changes are presented in a GUI format, rather than in raw code; some resources don't have a GUI template, and will open as code only. Note that some of the available menu items will change when you open a resource; investigate those, too.
Important - work only on a copy of the item you want to change. Although changes to an item are supposed to require you to save the changes when you close out of ResEdit, somtimes a change is made anyway. Keeping the original available untouched allows for graceful recovery in case of an 'Oops' event.
If you'd like to try File Buddy, you can get OS 9 version(s) here -

... and there's some additional info about it here -

  • Windows server 2008 can't access control panel and can't choose "properties" under "my computer"

    Hello everyone!
Today after a schedule restart on the night I thought everything was normal with my server. But When i go to "start -> control panel" it show me "empty". And if I try to lunch "change/remove software" via search window in
    "start" then nothing happen.
I know also that I can't right click on "computer" and choose "properties" in the start-menu.
Also another problem. I did install Fbackup to make schedule file backups on the night. The software worked well to launch when I had installed it, but after the night, this morning it just crash on launch.
I can also tell that I did add from 4 CPU core to 6 CPU cores.

    Hi,
Have you tried to see if the issue persists when you boot into Safe Mode? Since you it shows blank when accessing Control Panel, please check if the policy setting below has been
    configured.
Please choose Start – Run - type (gpedit.msc) - click on (Administrative Templates) - (control Panel) -
Prohibit access to Control Panel and Show only specified Control Panel applets. If they were configured, please disable them to see if it could resolve the issue.
In addition, the issue may also be caused by the virus, please run a system scan to see if there is any virus. At this time, you can also launch Control Panel apps from the command
line, and here's a list of .cpl files for your reference that you can print out:

  • Can't disable voiceover even it's deactivated in Accessibility Control Panel

    Hi,
I've recently purchased a headphones, so every time an error message appears in Yosemite this female voice is punishing my ears. I've tried to disable VoiceOver in Accessibility Control Panel, but this voice keeps speaking. So I guess that configuration is in another place. How can I disable this?
Googled it (sorry, search it in internet finder) but every body says the same about this tick in Accessibility Panel.
Kind Regards, and thanks for your time. Manel.

If I understand you correctly, you ought to reinstall. At this point, even if you're able to resurrect this installation, it might be severely unstable. Mostly because of my proclivity for messing around with settings until I screw something up, I have a tremendous amount of experience with the recovery console, and my success rate is not inspiring. If you have data you need on the drive, your best course of action is to reinstall to a different boot drive, and once you’re able to boot, archive the files you want from the corrupted installation. Then you can wax both drives, restore the data and get everything back the way you want it. Getting your data back from the recovery console is basically a lost cause since it doesn't support wildcards (as in, you'd have to copy every freaking file one at a time).
I re-read the above paragraph, and it's not the clearest thing I've ever written, so if you need clarification on anything, let me know.

  • IPhone 4 ios 7 unable to use control panel

Hi I am using iphone 4 and was updated to ios 7 yesterday
I have tried all the possible ways to slide up from the bottom of the screen (outside and inside the screen)
But still nothing happens at all
Now I couldn't lock the screen rotation or do whatever everyone else is doing to the new ios 7
Because I cant even get to the control panel at all and I couldn't find any useful things to help with it in the general option
Please if anyone can help me with it
Ios 7 has bought me to ****!!!

    Hi,
do you have an "Control Center" option in your settings app?
    I've an iPhone 4 (iOS 7.0.2), too.
For me (almost) everything is working fine, so no general bug at this point.

  • Can't access control panel

When I open garage band the control panel with record, rewind, play etc is hidden below the menu. How do I adjust garage band window to access the panel?

Do you mean it's hidden behind the dock?
Is dock hiding on or off?
You should be able to resize garageband by grabbing the lower right conner.
Make sure you have the correct screen resolution.

  • Control Panel icons disappeared

    Hi, all.
The icons of certain Control Panels have mysteriously disappeared: Apple Menu Options, Extensions Manager, General Controls, Internet, Keyboard, MacAlly USB Mouse/Trackball, and Startup Disk.
I've tried resetting the PMU, zapping the PRAM, and rebuilding the desktop, all to no avail.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi, bobinski -
Also, rebuilding the desktop file may help.
To rebuild the desktop safely, restart - immediately hold down the Shift key until you get the "Extensions Off" message; then release Shift and hold down the Command and Option keys until you get the splash screen asking if you want to rebuild the desktop; click yes (or okay). Once that's done, restart to turn your extensions back on.

  • Howto Delete Control Panel Icon

Hello. I have a icon on the control panel with no name, which I'd like to delete.  You've seen it - It's the icon when you have no program associated with that particular type of file.  I performed online research the past few days and the closest I came to identifying a remedy is: search for all the .cpl files and delete the offending one.  Except, it's difficult (impossible so far) to identify the correct one because, as I indicated, it has no name.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I found it.  First, thanks for all the suggestions.  It turned out to be the Lenovo Factory Recovery Disk application, which I uninstalled after creating the discs and then deleting the service partition.  Go figure.  I never did eliminate the dead icon; but, simply reinstalled the application.  I'll follow-up if I figure out how to remove the icon before uninstalling it again.  Cheers,

  • Unable to start control panel for root

Is there a command line to get the control panel back for root? It seems that I have either removed it (inadvertently) or one of the security updates did it for me. I realize that it is risky, but adding users, disk, etc... is much easier with this tool. Any ideas?

Thanks. For whatever it is worth, I need to use this to set up users, network settings, etc.... It is much easier this way. I can then take the time to learn the commands as I need them.
