BUG: Intel Mac, CS6 Bridge, marginal synchronizing adjustments

Headline says it all; not working at all like CS5, synchro all over the place.

Well, I can't speak for George, but here's the problem I'm having...
If I have Bridge CS6 open, and want to access Mini Bridge from InDesign CS5.5 i have to quit Bridge CS6 and open 5.1. Likewise, to access Mini Bridge from Photoshop CS6 I need to have Bridge CS6 open....

  • Mac CS6 Bridge will not open

    I know this has been discussed a lot on the forums and I have read all of those, but I am frustrated after 3 weeks of working on this.  I bouht my wife Photoshop CS6 for xmas and loaded on our iMac running 10.8.2.  She was running Elements 8.  CS6 Bridge will not open.  Get a message "operation can not be completed". It will also not open from inside Photoshop either.  Following other posts, went into Library and deleted switchboard folder, plist files, and other listed files.  Did an option start on CS6 and reset to factory, delete thunbnails.  Performed PRAM and disk permissions repair.  None of this has fixed the problem.  The only thing that works is creating a new user account.  Bridge opens fine in my test account.  Next step is to make test account the main account; however, this is going to be a pain.  Any other ideas before I undertake this?

    Looks like you have tried all the suggested methods, so good job on that.  Your solution to create a new account is one that has worked for many where nothing else has worked.  This usually means some permission or default setting has not been affected by your actions.
    The only suggestion I can offer is to uninstall CS6, run Adobe Script Cleaner, then reinstall.  Hope this works.

  • CS6 Bridge (PC) does not show adjustments made in earlier Camera Raw, or even its own Camera Raw! PLEASE HELP.

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WILL SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT THIS CONTACT ME???
    CS6 Bridge does not show ANY of the adjustments I've made in previous versions of Camera Raw, and sometimes (intermittently) doesn't show adjustments made in CS6 Camera Raw.
    I'm on a PC, I've uninstalled and reinstalled about 6 times. I feel so upset, I've spent literally HOURS going in circles on the Adobe website, trying to get help on the phone (I'll pay!!!) but there seems to be no way to contact anyone. I've posted this problem several times and no one answers.
    If you don't know the answer, can you please tell me how to get tech help even if I have to pay for it??

    Thanks, Omke. I tried updating, then applying all the same fixes to the updated version. No change.
    I can attach a screenshot, but I must block out names and faces. All you'll see is my Bridge interface, not the faces in the portraits. Hope that helps.

  • Possible CS6 - Bridge Bug

    When in CS6 - Bridge>OUTPUT as a PDF....if you choose "Watermark" as an image...and the image is a PNG so that stuff shows through.....Bridge seems to put one multible copies of the PNG file on top multible times....causing strange overlapping.
    LET ME KNOW IF HTIS IS A BUG????

    Sorry...I just assumed that if it was not working on my machine it was not working on any machines....
    But my machine is a Mac...lastes OS....
    The image was a group of JPG.....trying to make a (OLD NAME) Contact Sheet......I know it changed in CS5....and it now does these Contact Sheets in Bridge called "OUTPUT".....I have it all set up on my laptop...also a MAC....but I used to have it set up on my PC...SAME WAY...in CS5.......all the same exact settings....across the board....same "Watermark" PNG file.....as in CS5...but when I have all the same settings...same images...same everything in CS6.....I get 2 different looks.....here is some images so you can see the difference:

    I am trying to output a PDF gallery from CS6 bridge in 10.8.5 on a Mac. No options are available from the pull-down Output arrow.

    Hello,
    Although not as simple as it should be you can use a program like "Grab" to take a screenshot of the frame in the preview window in iMovie.

    I have master suite cs6. on mac osx. bridge has been quitting unexpectedly. Also, getting message at start up that states that "bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation" I have purged the cache several times and adjusted settings with no change. I also downloaded the entire suite and installed. Do I need to uninstall all of the programs before installing the suite? There is not an option to install only Bridge from the install package.

    Maria,
    Topic or subject titles should be clear, pertinent and concise so that individual users can tell at a glance if they can help or not.
    That field is not for attempting to fit your entire question in there.
    Please keep this in mind next time you post.  Thank you.

  • CS6 Bridge caching bug

    In this thread we discussed a problem with CS6 Bridge constantly re-caching layered Tif files:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4473274#4473274
    Since then a new related problem has been reported and discussed on other forums.
    Sometimes Photoshop refuses to save a file, claiming the file is already open or in use by another program, even though no other programs are running.
    Turns out that problem is caused by Bridge caching. If you have Tif support disabled in Camera Raw prefs, the save problem does not occur. If you go to Bridge and navigate to a different folder, the save does not occur or goes away.
    I've tried to report this as a bug in the photoshop.com site, but that bug reporting process is confusing and I have no confidence is works. Anybody know a better way to report bugs?

    Hab das mal auch versucht bei CS6 Bridge/Camera RAW: Bug with exposure sync zu melden...

  • Wierd bug with menus and subtitles on Intel mac

    I have found DVDSP4 will not let me place buttons on a menu!! The mouse clicks don't do anything in the menu viewer. I suspect some system incompatibility is this is also why I can't drop a subtitle into the subtitle streams either with DVDSP4 enev though it works fine on DVDSP3 on my G5 machine. Has anyone seen this strange bug before?
    I use a Wacom Intuos tablet, have a four-core Intel MacPro with 4GB of RAM, and use a LOT of graphic applications (FC5, Motion, Maya, Poser, Vue, Illustrator, Photoshop, and many molecular modeling packages)
    Has anyone seen this problem before (and is there a remedy)?
    Thanks
    tom hsu

    Do you have the Universal Version of DVD SP? I know you mentioned it is academic but did not recall if you have the proper one for the Intel Macs(?)

  • Bugs report for Sony Bridge for Mac

    Hello,
    I'd like to report two bugs on the Sony Bridge for Mac software, thanks to inform the development team about them:
    - Conflict between Sony Bridge for Mac and the Image Capture (more precisely the PTPCamera process):
    When the Xperia smartphone is connected to a Mac, after 30 to 40 seconds a process called PTPCamera start to analyze the pictures inside the device. This process is a subprocess used by the Image Capture software, which is included with Mac OS X and allows to retrieve pictures from an APN.
    If Sony Bridge for Mac is launched too early, before the PTPCamera process finish its work, than Sony Bridge fails to recognize the phone and invite to try to unplug and replug it. In fact this is a pretty bad advice in that case, as unpluging and repluging will make the PTPCamera process to restart from the beginning.
    If we wait patiently for a few minutes (between 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the amount of pictures in the phone) that the PTPCamera process finish its work (we can monitor its CPU usage using Activity Monitor to know if it's working or not), and than we laucnh Sony Bridge, the phone recognition works just fine.
    Knowing that, it'd be great if the development team can work on that issue so that Sony Bridge works even if PTPCamera (and so Image Capture) is running, even if it implies a longer necesary time to recognize the phone.
    - Other bug: If the amount of data transfered to the phone is important, Sony Bridge may freeze in the middle of the transfer
    For example, I've a music library of about 2000 songs representing 12GB of data. If I try to transfer it all at once, Sony Bridge will freeze after some time.
    This occurs either when using the iTunes synchronization option of Sony Bridge, or using the file explorer.
    Also the transfer speed is very low.
    A workaround to that issue is either to transfer small amount of data at a time, but it's not very practical.
    Configuration used:
    MacBook Pro Core i7 2.3GHz
    8GB RAM
    Sony Bridge for Mac 2.2
    Xperia S with Android 2.3.7 and update 6.0.A.3.73 installed
    To reproduce these issues I recommend to test with a phone containing a lot of data inside, both in music (I have 12GB of music) and pictures (I've about 100 pictures), this would greatly help fixing these bugs and testing the software stabiltity and performances.
    Best Regards

    Hi and thank you for posting. I have highlighted this thread to one of my colleagues working with Bridge for Mac. I hope he can get something useful out of it.

  • CS3 bugs fixed for intel macs?????????

    CS2 when it came out was not designed for the Intel processor so there was problems until adobe managed to iron out the problems. The only issue is CS2 the performance is not as great as it should be due to this. Is CS3 fully compatible with Intel macs?
    On cs2 now and researching into whether its right to upgrade now or leave it a year?

    CS3 is made to run natively on the Intel machines. CS3 works best running under Tiger if you have an Intel machine that has Tiger CS3 will run great. If you need to get a new machine that is Leopard only, then there are a few issues.
    As Bob said there are many threads.

  • Text-wrap problem ID CS3 on Intel Mac

    I've recently been upgraded to an Intel Mac workstation running Leopard and for the most part, the transition has been smooth.  However, I just noticed today that I cannot get "detect edges" to work on a text wrap around an object with a transparent background in a placed Photoshop file.  The detect edges only works if I have a white background.  I've never had this problem before, so I wonder if it's a result of my new computer.  I use this function of text wrap constantly, and I'm hoping someone knows if this is a known bug and if there is a work around.

    You don´t have to use detect edges feature for extracted PSD-image.... just select a proper Contour Options Type, Alpha Channel for instance.

  • Possible bug in Photoshop CS6 with app.activeDocument.path.

    JavaScript running in Photoshop CS6 under OS X 10.7.5 returns the wrong result for app.activeDocument.path when the file is located on the boot drive. The result is undefined and an error message incorrectly states that the document has not been saved yet. If the file is located on a remote volume, the correct path is returned.
    To reproduce this problem, create a new file in Photoshop CS6 on a Mac. Save the file to the desktop. With the file still open, run the following script in ExtendScript Toolkit.
    // start script
    var thePath = app.activeDocument.path;
    alert(thePath);
    // end script
    Running the same script with a file located on a server volume open in Photoshop correctly returns "/path/to/file.psd" instead of undefined and no error occurs.
    This appears to be a bug in Photoshop CS6's JavaScript implementation. This problem did not exist in Photoshop CS3.
    A similar issue prevents Photoshop CS6 from saving files to the boot drive using activeDocument.saveAs.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, have you discovered an alternate method to determine the file path or save a file on the boot drive?

    Don't know if this will help much but at least you can use it to check a document's filepath without throwing an error. And maybe tell if the problem is with the Photoshop DOM.
    function hasFilePath(){// returns true/false
        var ref = new ActionReference();
        ref.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID("Dcmn"), charIDToTypeID("Ordn"), charIDToTypeID("Trgt") );
        return executeActionGet(ref).hasKey(stringIDToTypeID('fileReference'));
    function getFilePath(){// returns path as a string if exists, undefined if not
        var ref = new ActionReference();
        ref.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID("Dcmn"), charIDToTypeID("Ordn"), charIDToTypeID("Trgt") );
        var desc = executeActionGet(ref);
        if(desc.hasKey(stringIDToTypeID('fileReference'))) return decodeURI(desc.getPath(stringIDToTypeID('fileReference')));

  • No "PDF Portfolio task pane" on Intel Mac!!!

    Acrobat 9 Pro has different behaviors between Intel Mac and PowerPC Mac !!!
    On Intel Mac, I cannot change the default layout of any PDF Portfolios, because the "PDF Portfolio task pane" doesn't show, so there's no way to touch the "CHOOSE A LAYOUT" button.
    But on PowerPC Mac, everything is fine.
    I think it's a serious bug which only affect Intel Mac. Please confirm this.
    Thanks.
    (I attached screenshot of new created PDF Portfolio window under Intel Mac and PowerPC Mac)

    Hi, Steve
    I just found the key to trigger this "bug". In Acrobat or Reader's Preferences, choose "International", and there's a "Choose Font" option. I can choose between "Application Default Font" and "GB18030 compliant Font" (I don't know if this later GB18030 option shows in non-Chinese environment).
    If I choose the GB18030 option, I won't see the "PDF Portfolio task pane". I think I don't need this option, so I recover the old settings. (Obviously my Acrobat system files are not broken, but I cannot explain why simply delete all preferences in my home directory didn't work -- maybe this option are not stored in my home directory).

    Chun Tian (binghe)

  • Edits made in earlier Camera Raws are not displaying in CS6 Bridge for PC

    All the painstaking adjustments and croppings I've made over the years to my raw files in earlier versions of Camera Raw do not show up in CS6. It's as though I never did any adjustments.
    But if I open the files in CS6 Camera Raw and make a tiny tweak adjustment for all files (such as +1 in saturation), then the entire set of previous adjustments DOES show up in CS6 Bridge.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop CS6 a whole bunch of times and this never corrects!
    Is there any fix for this? Or did I just get a BAD copy of Photoshop CS6 and am stuck, since there doesn't seem to be ANY support from Adobe for this.
    I am subscribed to CC and this problem does not happen in CC Bridge, but I want to maintain CS6 because I don’t trust Adobe to keep the CC price at something I can afford.
    PLEASE can someone offer a suggestion???

    You have thumbnails set to embedded.  They will not show edits unless you opt for some version of HQ thumbnails, but these take up a lot more room and and slower to build.  Your choice.

  • Intel Mac OS X can't connect using 802.1x with TTLS authentication

    To login at the wireless network on my school I use the following settings:
    802.1x connection with TTLS authentication and TTLS inner authentication set to PAP.
    My MacBook Pro logs in, but has a self assigned ip-address and I can't use the network.
    On my old iBook and my friend's Powerbook with exact the same settings it works perfect. (and gets an assigned ip-address throug DHCP.
    Bug in the Intel version of Mac OS X I guess?

    Regarding the post about other intel macs being unaffected, I don't have an imac so I don't know for sure, but the connectivity problems seem to be more widely reported for the macbooks. It's certainly possible they are affected as well, but I was under the impression they were using a different chipset and/or firmware. (note to self, check on that).
    What I cant understand is why they have changed the
    airport express card for the intel macs, albeit the
    processor has changed but that shouldn't affect the
    card as that should be processor
    The intel macs were largely designed by intel. I suspect that apple provided case dimensions and a specifications list which intel then used for the designs. The wireless cards in the powerbooks were based (iirc) on a pc-card bus. The older airports were based on PCMCIA-16.
    In the macbooks, it appears to be a mini-PCI-express. (I had to send my back for noise issues. ASP might tell you what bus it connects to). The benefit to this is better speed and the possibility of future expansion. Dell uses the same connector.
    Some side-benefits of having the board designed by intel (or with heavy intel involvement) is that we can already dual-boot windows XP. Wireless seems to work fine if you run windows on the macbook. Therefore, I think this is a driver issue likely to be resolved sooner rather than later.
