[Bug: JDeveloper 9.0.3] Context menu on active tab of Log window

When I right-click on one of many tabs in the log window to open the context menu, and when for some reason another tab becomes active, the context menu now targets the active tab, instead of the original one.
Say, I ran a project and want to clear the respective tab, so I right-click on the tab to open the context menu. But before I can click on 'Clear', some other running project generates output on its tab, so that other tab becomes active. Now, when I click on 'Clear' anyway, the newly activated tab will be cleared, in stead of the tab I intended to clear.
I don't suppose this one's is a biggy, but I'd like to report it anyway.

Ow by the way, of course this is a bit of a bigger issue when you select 'close'. ;)

  • Tab context menu on empty tab bar.

When right clicking on an empty area of the tab bar, I get a context menu to select which toolbars I want to show or to customise Firefox's layout. As I recall (and my muscle memory seems to agree) this used to bring up the tab context menu instead, allowing me to re-open closed tabs and the like. Is there any way to restore this functionality?

The Tab bar is a regular toolbar in current Firefox version (you can place toolbar buttons on it) and right clicking on empty space will open the toolbar context menu.<br />
You need to right-click a tab to get the Tab context menu.

  • BUG Un-sortable Column sortable in context menu

    Hi
We have a table (wrapped in a panel collection), where only some columns should be sortable. Setting sortable="false" on the those columns nicely removes the up/down arrow controls. Making the column unsortable - from that perspective. If we however access the the context menu (right click the column header) and navigate to "sort" Ascending and Descending is available, which thus still allows the user invoking sort on that column.
Anyone with insight on this? Do we need to set additional property (aside from sortable) or is this a bug in the built in context menu?
    Regards
    Tonny

    Hi,
However as item 2 in the linked page states, the bug should be verified. So I hope that somebody in this forum could either second a bug in the behavior of the sorting in tables or help clarify if there other mechanisms than the sortable attribute on the column element in play.
You provide a test case, someone runs the testcase in his/her environment and you got your verification. As simple as that. Note that its not helpful if you post issues without mentioning a JDeveloper version number as it leaves us uncertain of whether this issue is in an old version of JDeveloper or a recent.
Btw.: If we however access the the context menu (right click the column header) and navigate to "sort" Ascending and Descending is available, which thus still allows the user invoking sort on that column.
In 11.1.2.3 I don't see a context menu opening on the right mouse click onto the column header. The column I disabled from sorting also doesn't show in any of the panelCollection menu options. So I am not sure this problem reproduces in all JDeveloper versions.

  • Extract All context menu

Extract All option is missing in my right click Context Menu.
I tried to use the restore default file type association and selected  Zip to restore. That did not work.
I also used the tutorial from the same forum to install Extract All. That did not work either.
For now I am using 7 zip.
I would like to know if there is anything else I can do to restore the "native" Extract All option, such as registry editing.

    Hi david hk129,
I have no idea about restoring the "native" status of Context Menu. It's hard or impossible, if you have not saved registry or image of Windows. But...

  • Bug: Context menu operations on multiple selection of uix-nodes do not work

    Hi,
when i select multiple .uix files in the navigator and then chose "Check XML Syntax", "Validate" or "Auto Indent XML" from the context menu, the selected operation is only done for the first file in the selection.
This is a nice Bug because this works for Make and Rebuild context menuitems, even if those items display the filename even for multiple selection ("Make AFile.uix).
Would be nice if those operations would work on the "HTML Sources" node or a subfolder.
    Regards, Markus

thanks. we'll try to fix this in an upcoming release.

  • Context menu problem, bug

I have two displays  – macbook pro 15 and Cinema Display 27. When using both ow them there is a trouble  –  context menu appears on one when in was calle on another
here is how it looks http://daniyar.com/temp/screen-GMrVZtBl5m.jpg

If you detach it the monitor so the screen goes to single-screen mode on your laptop, and then re-attach the monitor, does the problem persist? This is definitely not a universal issue in Mountain Lion.
Try creating a new user account and then log into that account to see if the problem persists in that account. This will indicate whether or not the problem is with an account-based setting or is more global.

    Is this expected behavior?

Can you specify what release you are using when you run into this problem? This is a bug, not expected behavior.

  • How to avoid the dialogue when converting from context menu

This is a follow-up to http://forums.adobe.com/message/2016146#443364 which was locked due to a bug.
i would like to know how i can avoid the 'save as' dialogue when using the context menu to convert a word file to pdf using windows XP/acrobat 8/word 2007.
so far, it always prompts me for the filename, which is annoying as it does not allow me to batch-convert several files and let the thing run its course.
the solution provided by Steve in the other thread does not work - even if the plugin from word does not propt for a filename, it still does when triggered from explorer/context menu.
so back to square one: how to avoid that dialogue when not opening word at all?
cheers, thanks for any help. michael

For a permanent change, START>PRINTERS>right click on Adobe PDF printer and select properties>General>Printing Preferences>Adobe PDF Settings. Under the settings tab, uncheck the box related to asking for a name. Pretty sure that is the location, but it may vary with version.

  • How to add/delete items in right click context menu when opening a new link FF17 osx... 6 instances of open link in new identity profile have appeared

The menu items appeared without any idea why, they had not been there before. I have macbook with os 10.6.8 I had been trying to get pdf to work in firefox, so had followed a recipe suggesting enabling the pdf reader part of firefox. Required making 2 adjustments to the about:config. One disabling the browser.preferences.incontent and would changing default of pdfjs. Pdf still won't display, but don't know if what I did is related. Now I am trying to just find out how the menu gets modified at all, and whether I can do so as a user.

A little research revealed addons can add items to context menu, in this case multifox adds option to open tab in new profile for multiple gmail etc logins. I had updated addons earlier, think that triggered it. So now I know why and what it does. The problem is why 6 times listed (instead of just one)... it also varies, sometimes the context menu will have one instance... and have seen as many as 9. Not sure why it varies, but would still also like to know how to modify context menu. Could just be a bug in multifox with FF17 I suppose. I will disable multifox and see if problem goes away.

  • Context menu not working outside of JDev

    Hi all,
RTFM replies welcomed, although I couldn't find anything.
I have a very simple application (ADF BC + ADF Faces, 11.1.1.1.0).
On one page, I have an af:table that lists departments; there is a context menu that allows me to right-click a row and go to an edit page. It works just fine using the WLS integrated in JDeveloper (on Windows). I have deployed the application to a 10.1.3.1 WLS (JRF installed properly) on Linux. The list page displays, context menu shows up, but when I choose the "edit" item in the context menu, nothing happens. I don't see anything interesting (or otherwise) in WLS log files.
Am I missing a configuration somewhere?
Thanks for any help (the app is the same app that I used for my ADF Essentials series on OTN, if anyone wants to download it - I'm trying to get one last wrinkle ironed on the last article, and they are good to go - so anyone who helps here, I'll give them a kudo in the article!).
I can post the content of the PPR requests and responses if that helps someone (yay, Firebug!)
As an update - I've tried all major browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome - sorry Opera) and get the same results.
    Best,
    John

    John,
I had to make some changes. The app I got from your series contained only an empty page flow and empty pages. I added the DepartmentList.jspx and DepartmentEdit.jspx to the adfc-config.xml. I added the navigation editDepartment from DepartmentLits to DepartmentEdit in the task flow.
Because of the empty pages I'd put a read only table on the DepartmentList, added the code from your post to the contextMenu facet, added an edit form on the DepartmentEdit.jspx page.
Tested it in jdev -> OK
deployed the app on my test wls server -> OK
    So nothing fancy.
Is the WLS on OpenSuse 11.2 RC a 64bit installation?
I remember seeing strange behavior on a ubuntu 9.04 64bit installation had used before. My app runs fine on 32bit ubuntu 9.04 but i got errors when the app was hosted on the 64bit server. Never investigated it further because at work we are using SLSE and it's working there.
Anyway I'll mail you the workspace I used.
    Keep me posted :-)

  • Context Menu for XML

When creating an extension, a context menu item can be added to a menu for a java file by using "instanceof oracle.jdeveloper.model.JavaSourceNode". Similarly, for jsp source you would use "oracle.jdeveloper.model.JspSourceNode". What do I use if I want to enable/add a context menu item to appear when an xml file is right-clicked under Miscellaneous Files?

FYI, there is a demo in the Extension SDK, which is called ClassSpy. If you right-click on a node and choose the appropriate menu item, it will display the name of the node in the log window, like oracle.bali.xml.addin.XMLSourceNode.

  • Cannot change "Open with" (in context menu) from CS3 to CS6

I have CS5 and CS6 installed, and now I've also installed CS3 (because of problems with ps actions that does not work properly), and in the context menu "Open with", "Open" and "Edit" now starts CS3 instead of CS6.
How change all that to CS6?
    Note:
when choosing "Open with", "Select standard program", and browse/selecting the CS6 exe-file, then STILL the CS3 is displayed in context menu and the CS3 starts.  It's like there is some assocciation from CS6 to CS3 that cannot be altered??
Do I have to uninstall CS6 and install CS6 again, or what?
    OS: Windows 7.
And yes, all my PS versions are legit.

When you install a version of Photoshop the install will associate many image file types the the Photoshop versions your installing.  You may want to re-install CS6 on top of itself and the update it.  You will still have all your Photoshop preferences and CS6 add-ons install and CS6 will be the default application for image file types. Or you can manually change all the image file type associations. Adobe Bridge CS6  may also be able to change image fie types associations in its edit preferences UI. I not sure about the bridge fie each version of the bridge I have installed shows that the same level as tne bridge version of Photoshop is associated with image file file type.  After  I installed CS2 I manually change Image File association back to CC.  However I had to re-install CC a couple of times since then. I have CS2, Subscription CS6 version and CC installed on my workstation.
If you have old CS3 actions that do not work in CS5 and CS6 you can edit them and modify them to work in CS5 and CS6.  If the action add adjustment layers and that is where your you having Problems..  Adobe introduced options in CS4 adjustment panel that can cause Photoshop to work incorrectly.  If you set the option to Adobe defaults setting you may fine that your actions that add Adjustment layer work correctly.  For some unknown reason Adobe refuses the address the bad options they added to the Adjustments panels fly-out menu.  The options change Photoshop Behavior some time which simply put is a bug waiting to bite.

  • Context menu refresh issue in adf tree.

    Hi All,
    I am using jdeveloper 12.1.2.2.0.
I have a programmatically generated tree in which I have added two buttons in the context menu using context menu facet.
    * I have selection listener in the tree and right click also selects the node.
There are two issues regarding the context menu:
    1. If I right click the tree node, the context menu is showing only the two buttons I added and it is not showing the default expand/collapse, expand all/collapse all below and show as top options of context menu. Once I refresh the tree region doing some actions in the page, it is showing all the options.
    2. The buttons I added inside the context menu have disabled conditions and the trigger is given for the parent container "popup" which will be triggered by tree node selection. The problem is that whenever I right click the tree node, the popup is refreshed because of the trigger and the expand/collapse functions are not working. If I right the same node again the functions are working fine.
    How to resolve these issues?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Printing from Explorer context menu prints in wrong scale

    Hi,
I have a problem with a customer; when they right-click a PDF file and choose "Print" from Explorer context menu the actual printout is sometimes printed in the wrong scale, ie it looks zoomed. The same problem exists when printing PDF's from other applications as well, for example Outlook. If they print the same PDF one more time (by right-click-printing) the problem may resolve itself. Sometimes it's enough to print twice, other times they need to do it more times. The problem exists in several computers, which is why i want it to be a problem with some default-settings in Adobe Reader.
What might cause this behavior ?

So, 4 years have passed, and one would hope the problem solved itself in some update the last 4 years.
However, it has not. (Well, actually it was fixed for a short while. Then it broke again:()
I do have some fresh information that can help you devs at Adobe to maybe get closer to a solution.
Just before christmas (nov 22) i was doing a new attempt to solve the problem.
At the time Reader XI had been released, but not yet installed at the client. Crossing my fingers and praying to higher powers i downloaded XI and gave it a shot; and the problem actually went away! My theory was that finally some architectual change had been implemented; or parts of Reader had been rewritten for any reason. Anyhow, the problem was gone after nearly 4 years and both me and the client was happy!
Today the client called again. The PDF-printouts are zoomed again. Worse than ever. Now, EVERY PDF that's printed was getting zoomed (if printed from another program.). When printing, Reader flashes by the screen; so i guess the app does something like "adobe.exe /print %temp%\whatever.pdf" or however it works.
I immediately suspected that an update had been installed and broke the Reader again. This was the case. 11.0.06 had been auto-installed last week. After searching adobe site for 30 minutes i finally found the downloads required to get 11.0.05 installed and running again. *poof* problem gone. Every print is good.
    SOO..
11.0.05 does not contain the bug that makes most printouts zoomed. (WORKS)
11.0.06 contains the bug again. (DOES NOT WORK)
So, whatever changes are in that update broke the Reader for the client again.
ADOBE: Hope this gets u closer to a solution!
PEOPLE: If you are experiencing the same problem as my client, please try my solution. It just might help you.
ps. oh, and where u download older versions from adobe.com is
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows
    Install order:
    - 11.0.01                AdbeRdr11000_mui_Std.zip
    - 11.0.04 patch      AdbeRdrUpd11004_MUI.msp
    - 11.0.05 patch      AdbeRdrSecUpd11005.msp
