BUG? Keynote media browser can't see edited photos.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
After cropping a photo in Camera Roll within "Photos" I am unable to insert the edited photo
in Keynote or Pages via the Media Browser.
The built-in MEDIA browser, inserts the unedited photos in Keynote or Pages for iPad.
Of course, I can  "copy" the eidted photo in "Photos", and then paste into Keynote. or Pages, but
how can I force the Keynote Media browser to see the updated photo and not revert to the original?

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

When i use the iPhoto Browser only about half of the photos in iPhoto show up. I've seen some posts of similar issues but no clear resolution. Any ideas?

  • Can't see edits in InCopy CC

I'm able to open InCopy CC, but can't see edits/marks or other user's edits/marks.

You can only see tracked changes (marked edits) if all four of these things are true: 1) someone checked out the story and enabled track changes; 2) someone made some edits while tracked changes was on, 3) you do not have "Hide Changes" checked in the View menu (it is not checked by default), and 4) you are in either Story or Galley view, since tracked changes are always hidden in Layout view.
Can you check these 4 things and see if it helps at all?

  • Why can't I get the same photos and videos I have taken and edited in photos or I photos when I see them in my laptop the photos are unedited in laptop I can see edited photos on in my iPhone not in laptop

Why can't I can see edited photos and videos. On my laptop why only the original version of the photos are maintained

Have you copied those pictures from the iPhone to the computer?
If PhotoStream is enabled on the iPhone and computer, they will sync between all devices with PhotoStream enabled.  And if that is the case, are you editing the photos in PhotoStream or in Camera Roll?

  • Can't see all photos on Camera Roll on laptop

I have a slightly unusual problem with my iPhone. I have downlaoded quite a few camera and photo apps from the app store. All of these work fine on the phone itself and I can view all pictures taken and edited with the various apps on the camera roll on the phone. My problem occurs when I connect my iPhone to my laptop and access it using Windows Explorer. When I do this I can only see the photos taken on some of the apps and not all of them. Photos taken using ClassicPAN, ClassicToy, ShakeItPhoto, Pro HDR, Pano to name a few can't be found. If I want to transfer photos from any of these apps to my laptop I have to email them but I have hundreds of photos so this is not feasible. I have a brand new Samsung laptop so maybe some of the settings are wrong but I don't even khow where to begin looking. I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me.

What visual presentation do the other 900 photos have? A Dotted Square? Do you get a ! or ? when you double click on them?
IF so: The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents. The most common cause of this is User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder. Have you altered, moved or renamed anything in the iPhoto Library Folder?
If you haven't, then try rebuilding the database. Hold down the apple and option keys and launch iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • I can't see my photos on the cloud

I can't see my photos on the cloud...I'm new so please excuse the question but i only see email, address book, calender, find my phone and work!  no icon for photos or iTunes.  What am i missing?

Aperture is an Apple product for photo managment. Compared to iPhoto0 bigger, more control, more editing, and more expensive.

  • Others can't see my photos

I'm getting feedback that friends and family can't see my photos in an iweb 08 published site.
"hi mate cant see the pictures????hope you are all well cx"
"The photos dont come thru, I wish they had, Hope all is well with your new addition"
It works fine on my computer, I can see them using IE on Parallels too.
Any ideas about why these people can't see the photos, do I need to tell them to install a plugin on their browser?
    Thanks.

I am publishing to .Mac. I'm Not sure what you mean by how are the photos loaded onto iWeb, is there more than one way to do it? I just dragged albums from iPhoto to load them on to iWeb and I clicked publish All to .Mac to publish it. I'm using the plain white template and the elegant template.

  • IPhoto can't see my photos

I had a hard drive directory problem after filling my HD to 99.9% full. iPhoto now can't see my photo's. The iPhoto library is there, complete with originals, alterations, etc, but when iPhoto opens, it says that there are 0 pictures. I used option+iphoto and selected the folder again, as well as moving the folder and selecting it from another location, and iPhoto opens it and says 0 pictures.
I tried rebuilding the database, which it does very quickly, reopens and says 0 pictures.
But I know the pictures are there because they are in the originals folder (as verified with preview) and they are in the date archived folders as well.
    What should I do?

    Cane,
so far you have done all the correct steps. iPhoto unfortunately cannot read the data files in your library folder(they are probably corrupt from whatever happened to your HD) and so it tells you there are 0 files.
The next step is to create a new library:
How many images do you have in your library?
Do you mind losing albums, keywords, comments?
    If not...
    close iPhoto
-drag the iPhoto Library folder to the desktop
-launch iPhoto and create a new library
-double click the iPhoto Library folder on the desktop to open it
-the two main folders you will need to import are the Original folder and the Modified folder (only if you want to import the edited images).
-the Originals folder has all your originals photos unedited. the Modified folder has all images that you have edited, rotated, cropped, etc.
-Drag these two folders to the desktop
-If you want to save the edited image, find it in the roll in the Modified folder and drag it into the roll of the same name in the Originals folder. It will replace the originals and now will be the original.
-If you don't care to save any edited images, then don't import the Modified folder into iPhoto or don't bother replacing the edited image with the original image like I just described.
-If you import the Originals folder into iPhoto you will have all your originals in their named rolls.
-If you import the Originals and Modified folders into iPhoto, you will have all of the being in the originals folder in the finder. The roll with the same name as the other will have a _1 appended to it's name (in the finder)
-the roll from the originals will be next to the same roll from the Modified folder within iPhoto. You can then delete any of the images from there if you want.
I know this might sound confusing but it really isn't.
Get back if any of this sounds like something you might want to do.

  • Facebook for Blackberry: can't see any photos

    Hi,
I'm new to Blackberry, I just bought a Curve 8520 a friend did not use anymore (he got a newer Blackberry, haha). And I'm facing some difficulties with Facebook for Blackberry: I can't see any photo.
    OS: 5.0.0.900
App: Facebook for Blackberry (by RIM) - version 1.9.0.28
Carrier: Rogers Wireless. On prepaid plan (Blackberry Social 40)
Everything worked alright this week, I remember using the Facebook app on Monday and Tuesday wihout noticing anything. I happen to have noticed on friday night that no profile picture nor photos in photo albums to show when in Facebook app (but the problem could have started before).
It does not seems like it's a problem with Facebook authorizations, as I can see every profile picture when I'm on my desktop PC and when I go to Facebook mobile website using my BB's browser on WiFi.
If I try to see a photo from an album, I get the followinf error: "Failed to download the requested image".
If you have any suggestion or need more info, please don't hesitate, I'll gladly read and answer you!
(I tried a quick search on this problem, but did not find anything really helpfull. But this guy seems to have had this problem on last April, and he did not get an answer...)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Where did you get the device?  Is it possible that it has an IT policy on the device blocking Facebook and/or Facebook options?  Look in Options >Security Options >General Settings (actual menu paths vary with OS version) and see if there is any reference to IT policy.
    1. Please thank those who help you by clicking the "Like" button at the bottom of the post that helped you.
    2. If your issue has been solved, please resolve it by marking the post "Solution?" which solved it for you!

  • I can't access edited photos with iphoto

I am new to iphoto 08.
I have preferences set up to edit iphoto images with photoshop CS3. After editing a photo, I use the option save in same folder but iPhoto does not show the edited photo, just the unedited photos. I can see the location of the new photo using spotlight (the path indicates that the photo is in the same folder as the unedited photos in iPhoto) but am unable to see the photo in iPhoto.
    Any ideas? Thanks, David

    David:
    Maybe this will help:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • I can't see my photo's! YIKES!!!!

I was working in Aperture 3, editing photo's in my latest project. I decided to move the project in the inspector so that it would be in alphabetical order with the other projects. When I did that my photo's disappeared. In all projects. I am currently unable to see any photo's in any projects. I know they are still there in the Aperture Library. Went to "show package contents" in AP Library and everything is still in there. In the inspector, it shows each project by name and even the number of images in each project.
I just can't see any photos.
Checked quick preview, and filter settings for viewing. All is correct there.

    Hi,
Please try right clicking the image and select Update Thumbnail.
If the problem still persists, please go to the location of catalog folder mentioned in Help > System Info
Rename the thumb.5.cache file to thumb.5.cache.old and now relaunch the application.
Please note if the file size is large, application will take some time in generating thumbnail.
    Thanks,
    Anwesha

  • Photoshop can't see my photos anymore

I upgraded to iPhoto 08 and my photos no longer appear in my finder. I can't find the photos anyhere. This seems to be a downgrade to me, not an upgrade. Can I unhide this seemingly hidden photo folder? It was there before.... Not very happy about this.

  • HT4847 where can i see my photos in the web?

where can i see my photos in the web?

You can only veiw your photos on the web by creating a shared photo stream as a public website, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99.  This will give you a url to view your photos from any browser.

  • I can't see my photos uploaded to my computer's photostream on my ipad

i can't see my photos uploaded to my computer's photostream on my ipad

  • My thumbnails have all disappeared.  If I view events there is the same one for all 270 events and if I open an event I have clack thumbnails. I can only see the photo if I open it individually.

If I view events there is the same thumbnail for all 270 events and if I open an event I have black thumbnails. I can only see the photo if I open it individually. The only way I can then see the thumbnail is by editing each photo. Then to even further complicate matters the last editted phot is replaces as the thumbnail on all events foders!...grrr. This is what I awoke to two mornings ago after inly backing up my machine which I do every night.

No.  Quitefrankly I didn't know I could even use iPhoto on iPad, I just have the photos app that came on it.  This is on my laptop.  I don't particularly like iPhoto I use it essentially to take photos off my camera and store all the originals.  I use Photoshop. To work on them and store them in Dropbox (don't get me started on iCloud!). As I said this is a problem that seemed to crop up overnight after backing up to my external HD.
