BUG: Mutitap Preference Lost after Restart

The user's preference for Mutlitap is lost after system restart.
BlackBerry 8130, v4.5.0.77

Verify/repair your disk (not just permissions), in case there is some filesystem corruption, as described here:

This all seems to be caused by downloading the latest Airport update.

  • CVS keyboard accelerators lost after restart

    Hi
I set up accelerator keys for CVS edit (F10) and CVS commit (F11). Whilst JDeveloper is running, these keys work fine and I am able to edit and commit with these shortcut keys.
However, when I restart JDeveloper, the settings are lost and I have to set the keys again - (I have to do this each time I restart JDeveloper).
When I set keys F10 and F11 to other accelerator shortcuts such as make selected or run selected these work fine, even after restarting JDeveloper. The problem only seems to be with the CVS commands.
Do I have to some additional configuration for the CVS accelerators?
I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3.1 and the problem occurs on both Windows XP and SUSE Linux 8.1.
    Thanks
    Usman

I'm seeing this problem with set accelerators being lost after restart with JDeveloper Preview 10.1.3.0.2.
I set an accelerator to an external tool (Tomcat Startup and Tomcat Shutdown) and the accelerator is gone after I restart JDeveloper.
I apologize if this is a known bug in Preview... I did a cursory search through the forums and only found this one.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • I have created a second user on my imac (OSX 10.7.1) and applications won't stay in the dock and my preferences default after restart. Anyone else have this problem?

I have created a second user on my iMac (OSX 10.7.1) and applications won't stay in the dock and my preferences default after restart. Everything works fine with the main user. Anyone else have this problem?

    Hi again, ;o)
I found this advice in another thread (here), which you might find helpful...
Unregistering the iMac from .Mac syncing and re-registering it (replacing the computer's information with the .Mac information) resolved the issue.
The .Mac sync information was Reset (i.e. recopied in it's entirety) from the MacBook (the 'good' computer) to .Mac prior to unregistering and re-registering the iMac, so a fresh copy of the sync could be loaded from .Mac to the iMac.
I hope this helps the others who have had this problem.

  • Mail settings lost after restart!

This is beginning to drive me mad! It has only started happening recently, (I haven't dowloaded any patches or add ons to Mail or any other programme for that matter).
After restarting, or shut down and rebooting, Mail has lost all of its preferences. I have to add my account details again and change any other features that I previously changed.
Anyone have any ideas why this is happening, and is there a preference file/s that I can backup manually so that I can just replace them and get back to normality?
P.S. Don't know if this is any help, but my Safari settings are also lost. Including ALL bookmarks! HELP!

  • System Preferences Lost upon Restart / Reboot

    Hi.
I wonder if anyone is able to help me with a mildly annoying problem.
I have an issue with my 24" iMac in that when it is shut down or rebooted, upon startup some (but not all) system preferences appear to be lost.
    Typically this will include:
Mouse Preferences - button 3 and 4 preferences are lost, but not button 2
Firewall - permissions for certain programs (Vuze, for example) are lost
I have googled and googled and I can't find why this might be. If anyone could suggest anything I'd be grateful.
    Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. Sometimes after a system startup I notice that some of my preferences are lost and things revert back to their default values. This can affect the Dock, Finder, iTunes, Screen Saver hot corners, etc. Each time the problem occurs it seems to be a different set of preferences lost and it doesn't happen all the time. For instance, the dock might move from my preferred location at the left side of the screen to the default location at the bottom of the screen. And sometimes all the icons that I normally have in my dock disappear and the default list is shown instead.
I have this problem on a Mac Pro running 10.5.6 but it has been occurring ever since I upgraded to Leopard. However, this problem does not happen on any of the other Macs that I own.

  • Open With - Change All; Not maintained and lost after restart; Help!

I'm loosing my open this file with this application default settings. I've been experiencing it with PDF files and preview app. The finder will default back to preview after I continually reset all PDF files to open with Acrobat.
Oddly this is also happening with Entourage. Frequently between restarts the finder asks if I want to make Entourage my default email app.
Why is the system loosing the default settings so frequently?

    Try rebuilding the launchservices database:
    Rebuild LaunchServices Database
    For Tiger users
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt paste in the following command in its entirety:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServic es.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
    Press RETURN.
    For Leopard users
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt paste in the following command in its entirety:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
    Press RETURN.
You will get prompts about using applications for the first time but that's normal after the rebuild.
As for the default mail program you should open Mail, select Preferences from the Mail menu. Click on the General icon in the toolbar, then set the Default Mail drop down menu to the mail program you want as the default - in your case Entourage.

  • Keyboard system preferences resetting after restart

    Greetings,
I began with 2 similar problems.  My menu bar and keyboard system preferences would reset after each startup.  I fixed the former with https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6028346?tstart=0
Still, every time I restart or logout my keyboard system preferences reset to the default.  These defaults interfere with the software I run- Logic & Pro Tools, so while not the worst thing to have to remember to reset them each time, it is a drag.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks

The procedure below will reset the permissions of a user's home folder in OS X 10.7.4 or later, including 10.8 or later. If you're running an earlier version of 10.7, update to the latest version first. This procedure should not be used under OS X versions older than 10.7.4.
Back up all data before you begin.
    Step 1
Click the Finder icon in the Dock. A Finder window will open.
    Step 2
Press the following key combinations, in the order given:
    Command-3
    Shift-command-H
Command-I (the letter "I" as in "Info.")
The Info window of your home folder will open.
    Step 3
Click the lock icon in the lower right corner and authenticate with the name and login password of an administrator on the system. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
    Step 4
In the Sharing & Permissions section of the window, verify that you have "Read & Write" privileges. If not, use the "+" and "-" buttons in the lower left corner to make the necessary changes.
    Step 5
By default, the groups "staff" and "everyone" have "Read Only" privileges. With those settings, the files at the top level of your home folder will be readable by other local users. You can change the privileges to "No Access" if you wish, but then your Public and Drop Box folders will be inaccessible to others. Most likely, you don't need to change these settings.
    Step 6
If there are entries in the Sharing & Permissions list for users or groups other than "me," "staff," and "everyone," delete them.
    Step 7
Click the gear icon at the bottom of the Info window and select Apply to enclosed items... from the drop-down menu. Confirm. The operation may take several minutes to complete. When it does, close the Info window.

  • Spotlight preferences change after restart

I have prevented Spotlight from indexing my external hard drive by placing the hard drive in the Privacy section of Spotlight's preferences, thus preventing Spotlight from accessing my external hard drive. However, I have discovered that after I shut down my computer each day, or restart, the external hard drive has been dropped from the Privacy section. Has anyone got a fix for this?

The information about whether a drive should be indexed or not is stored on the drive itself. You can use Terminal to verify that this is the case. I have an external drive named "Firefly"--to check its status I use the mdutil command, which must be run as a "super user do" command:
    NoobiX:~ francine$ sudo mdutil -s /Volumes/FireFly
    Password:
    /Volumes/FireFly:
        Indexing and searching disabled.
So type the sudo mdutil command, a space, then the option for status (-s), a space, and the path to the drive (just drag and drop the drive into Terminal, and the path will be added for you), hit return, type your admin password (which is not echoed to the screen in any way whatsoever) and hit return again. In this case it tells me the drive status has indexing disabled. I removed the drive from the Privacy list, and then status shows this:
    NoobiX:~ francine$ sudo mdutil -s /Volumes/FireFly
    /Volumes/FireFly:
        Indexing enabled.
I used the indexing option to turn off indexing for the drive:
    NoobiX:~ francine$ sudo mdutil -i off /Volumes/FireFly
    /Volumes/FireFly:
        Indexing disabled.
You'll notice however that while indexing is disabled, the volume can still be searched. If you wish to have searching disabled completely the Volume must be listed in the Privacy pane. If it keeps disappearing, it is possible there is something wrong with the Spotlight or System Preferences plist file.

  • Information in ical, itune, widgets,... lost after restart

All of sudden, when I restarted my computer, (which of course I have done millions of times) the information in my ical, (all in my itune)got lost. Nothing, the scheduled tasks, the playlists, etc are all gone. However, my addressbook, sticky notes seem intact.
Also, all my gadgets, mail setup, are gone. It is like back to the ``factory mode'' when it was fresh.
I am Powerbook G5, Mac OS X Tiger.
The only abnormality that I could recall is that when I turn the computer off, the "FileVault" process took a real long time. So i closed the lid, (which, I guess, put the Mac into sleeping mode). When I reopen the lid, it pops out the window for me to input pwd, etc. Then it gets shut down itself. When I restart it, everything is gone.
IS there anyway I could recover those informations that I have in my Ical??
Also, I tried turn the "FileVault" thing off, it tells me "
you need 4052 G of hard disk space to do this." Just so practically, I cannot turn off the FileVault thing EVER.
    Any idea? Thanks!

Is it possible to sync between my iPod Touch and my iMac if i DONT have MobileMe? Just tried it and it didnt seem to transfer dates from my Touch to my computer...

  • Safari Minimized Windows Get Lost After Restart

If I have any minimized windows when I quit Safari, I can't make them visible after I re-launch Safari without some extra trickery.
They are shown in the Window menu, with the "◆" bullet prepended, but when I select one of them, the bullet is replaced by a ckeck mark, and the frontmost window loses focus, but the minimized window isn't shown. It's as if the window is fronmost but not visible, as if it were positioned outside of the viewing area.
If I then select View > Enter Full Screen, the window becomes visible and remains so after I exit full screen mode.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? It's obviously a bug of some sort, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced it bufore I report it. I have a hunch that it might be limited to Safari 7 and Mavericks running on older hardware. I'm currently using Safari 7.0.4 in OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), but I have noticed this ever since upgrading to Mavericks. I'm not sure exactly how old my MacBook Pro is, but it's old.

Is this system in domain ?
The new group policy is named “Force
a specific default lock screen image” and can be found in this path in the group policy editor: “Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative
    Templates\Control Panel\Personalization”
    Is this configured?

  • URGENT :All data lost after restart

    Hi all,
I did a restart after using win7 in bootcamp.
after the restart, all my personal user data are gone. my desktop got wipe out clean with only Macintosh HD drive and bootcamp on it. my dock, trackpad, wallpaper change to default setting.
i did a check on my applications and all the applications are still intact. however, when i open my safari, all the history is there, but there is no recent download item, all gone! There seems to be no users data in any of the applications. and although all my applications are still there, other folders located in desktop, roots, and other locations are gone.
My email, outlook email, documents and download are also gone. And i dont have any backup.
Can somebody help me? Can i recover all my data back?

Yes you can, but your going to need to stop using the computer before your deleted files are overwritten with new data.
There is a piece of software called DataRescue ($99) what it can do if installed on another Mac or bootable hard drive is to read the 1's and 0's of deleted data and recover everything to another blank hard drive.
Then all you have to do is pick through it and save what you want.
You need to learn either one or two things
1: How to install OS X onto a external drive and option key boot from it
2: Firewire Target Disk Mode from another Mac. (T boot the sick Mac)
I don't know what you want to do a this point but you need to stop using the computer that the files got overwritten on immediatly.
Bascially you can't be running OS X on the drive/partition your having problems with nor the Windows partition which has access to the OS X partition.
If you think you can't handle this, then hire the services of a local PC/Mac specialist trained in data recovery.

  • Google multiple sign-in session lost after restart

It's been a while since i use Firefox. so I'm not really sure whether it's an active issue or not.
Anyway, like everyone else does these days. I usually logged in to Gmail with both my personal and my Google Apps office account. nothing unusual there.
But this bug really annoys me. Every time I restart Firefox, I get back with only one account logged in (usually the last active session). Anyone experiencing the same issue?

You may have better luck using Chrome for access to Gmail and chat.
You could try a Safe Mode boot ...
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes a longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart  from your Apple () menu.
    Then try Safari.
