BUG! Not system locale Filenames support for 32-bit applications error in Windows 8.1 x64.
All Windows x64 (XP,2003,2007,Vista,7,8) have no support for not system locale filenames|foldernames for all 32-bit applications. I think it is BUG!
For example, it is possible to read files|folders with French or Chinese in English locale windows installed, rename it, but it is not possible open it, edit or delete. (ERRORS: File not found OR Unknown format)
With using 64-bit programs no such problems. How does it works and how can I fix this? Is it problem with encoding in translating kernel instructions for 32-bit apps in x64 Windows OS's? Whether there are
solutions to this problem OR some hacks|fixes?

Adobe says the Magic Extractor Tool is not available in Elements 13 for 64 bit systems. Is it available on 32 bit? Is there indeed a 32 bit version? Is this tool available on earlier Element versions?
The magic extractor disappeared after PSE11. It's recommended that you use the quick selection tool together with refine edge, if necessary.
From the refine edge dialog you can output your cut-out to a new layer or layer mask.

Support for 8-bit pseudocolor visuals on Solaris 10 u8 Virtualbox guest

I am running Solaris 10 u8 x86 as a Virtualbox (3.0.8) guest on a WinXP host with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500 vcard. I use JDS for the Solaris guest, and only 24-bit truecolor visuals are available for the desktop. I desperately need to run Xnest in 8-bit pseudocolor mode for an application. The video driver supplied with the Vbox Solaris guest additions has limited capability, and I think that until that driver is upgraded, I am out of luck. Does anyone have any different thoughts about that?
Is there a way to edit xorg.conf to get support for 8-bit pseudocolor overlay graphics? Wouldchanging the video driver in that file from vboxvideo to either VGA or VESA help? Any advice from an X expert would be GREATLY appreciated.
I've also tried to use svcadm to get the guest to open in 8-bit mode (default depth), but I think that the Vbox video driver (standard and VESA) only support 16- and 32-bit color modes. Is there some other way to get JDS or CDE in the guest to run in 8-bit color?

You could try running the main windows display in 8 bit mode and then starting virtual box, but odds of things going in your favor is not great.
Your new idea of running a vnc server in 8-bit mode within Solaris is very interesting indeed. I am unfamiliar with vnc. I saw this page:

It says that VNC comes with Solaris 10 u5, on the companion CD. I assume that u8 has it also.Somewhere along the line, sun began do bundle vnc as a part of solaris proper. It should be in /bin/vncserver.

1) login to your virtual solaris box
2) Start up a 8 bit vnc server by typing "vncserver -depth 8 :1"
3) After the setup questions (if I remember, you need to at least set a password), you can connect to the vncserver by
typing "vncviewer :1" and entring the password.
You could also get a windows VNC viewer and connect to the solaris vnc server. This may render faster, since you aren't running the vncviewer in a virtual session.
4) In the vnc viewer display (which may look funny because the default setup is usually a horriffic twm session), start your Xnest.
If you want cde, edit your .vnc/xstartup to look like:

WebLogic SSO receiving "KDC has no support for encryption type (14)" error

I am trying to implement SSO using an Off-the-Shelf app running on WebLogic, but receiving "KDC has no support for encryption type (14)" error. I have set the AD Server to Use DES encryption types for this account . I have added 'allowtgtsessionkey' registry entry on the client machine as well as the Windows Server on which WebLogic is running. My klist results on the client machine still seems to indicate AD is sending RC4 encryption format (please confirm looking at the results below). I am also attaching the WebLogic error log. I am slo seeing 2 errors at the very beginning of the WebLogic log when I restart the appserver.

why i see this massegae? (iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. Make sure your connection is active and try again.)

It sounds like you are unable to access the iTunes Store in the iTunes application. Based on the error message I would try the steps in the article here named:

Remove pop-up blockers
Some pop-up or ad-blocking programs may interfere with the ability of iTunes to connect to the iTunes Store. Removing them in many cases will resolve the issue.
Flush DNS Setting in Windows
In some cases, the DNS information you computer uses to connect to the Internet needs to be reset. Follow these instructions to flush your Windows DNS information:
Windows XP
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open field type cmd and click OK.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Windows Vista and Windows 7
On the Start menu, point to All Programs > Accessories and then right-click Command Prompt and chooseRun as Administrator from the shortcut menu. If Windows needs your permission to continue, clickContinue.
In the resulting window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Return on the keyboard.
You should see a message that the DNS Resolver Cache has been successfully flushed.
Note: If, in the command prompt, you see this message: "The requested operation requires elevation", close the command prompt and repeat steps 1 and 2 above to be sure that Administrator privileges are used to access to Command Prompt.

I have a number of 32-bit files produced by the Merge to HDR routine in PS CS2 and CS3.
I store the 32-bit files as the key creative stage in HDR processing is in the reduction to 16-bit (Image> Mode> 16 bpc in PS) and so it's handy to keep the 32-bit files to make alternate 16-bit versions. Currently it's not possible to import 32-bit files into the LR Library, so I'm stuck with using Bridge if I want to be able to see these files. I'm not asking for the ability to perform the 16-bit reduction in LR, just to be able to locate them in the Library so I can use LR as the starting point for all aspects of my workflow. The Library is so much better than Bridge in so many ways...
Can we have support for 32-bit in LR1.1, please?I second this motion. I'd really like Lightroom to support the Bridge-style Photoshop workflows (e.g. Photomerge, Merge to HDR) fully, including representation of all produced assets including 32-bit files. In a more perfect world, power-users could even create custom workflow scripts (e.g. in Javascript ala PS CS3 scripting) in Lightroom.
As a Photoshop user, I don't have a pressing need for full 32-bit support in Lightroom itself. However, I find Lightroom highly desirable as a photographer's workflow management solution and front-end to the more powerful tools in Photoshop. -

We have developed planning applicaiton using classic. Our client says that the support for classic planning applications will be withheld by oracle and so they want us to convert the classic to EPMA. Is it true that the support will be withheld?
Also it is not possible to load metadata to EPMA applications using Outlineload utility. Am i right?

Ragav.I have never heard that mentioned by anybody, there are many classic applications out there that use outline loader, ODI, DIM to manage the planning applications metadata.

I get home after buying my ipad mini play with it for a bit then try to sync my songs, movies and photos on and it syncs fine. I then look back at the ipad and seem to find on the top right saying " not charging ". I read other forms and people also struggeling with the same problem. My computer dose'nt have enough power. There must be another way for me to get to charge my ipad mini from my computer. It works fine charging it in an outlet. any ideas??!
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

Is "What's this" help for 64-bit applications available in latest version of Robohelp?
We purchased Robohelp 9 recently. Before purchasing we called support to make sure context help ("what's this" help) is available for 64-bit applications. They told us that it's there. When we installed Robohelp 9, context help library for 64-bit applications was not there. We are thinking of returning the product. Has anybody come across this issue?

Like Peter, I've not seen other reports. However, I'll temper this by saying that I'm on a 64 bit system and I do see an option for creating this type of help. I am aware of it and know how it works generically, but I've never created it and I am aware that it's fallen out of favor with Microsoft. So I am unsure of what "libraries" may be needed.
My own guess here is that support simply looked at RoboHelp and saw an ability to get at the What's this area of RoboHelp running on a 64 bit system and concluded that because it was there all was well.
Curiosity questiion here for alex-2012. Have you seen What's This help on any application running in 64 bit mode on a 64 bit system? Perhaps it's just a limitation of being in the 64 bit environment. I believe the ability for "What's This" is really governed by Microsoft. And since they have abandoned it, perhaps they never updated and distributed the supporting files needed on 64 bit machines. Just pondering that out loud a bit.

How do I set up my air port extreme to do port forwarding? Running 10.7.4 I have a IP camera on my local wireless net work that I want to use from my iPhone 4s and other computers.
In most cable systems, the router you have will plug into your modem and just work automatically. A NAT (Network Address Translation) router takes your external IP and hands out LAN (Local Area Network) based IPs. All of the devices you are working with right now should handle the change automatically unless you've changed from the default automatic configuration.
The problem with your wireless end of this is that the iPhone is not yet 802.11n, only 802.11g. Because that router is not dual band, all of your wifi devices will be forced to slow down to 802.11g speeds. If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
