BUG on CS3 (intel) importing DWG/DXF - resolved

Hi,
here is a new bug on AI CS3 working on an Intel Mac.
Importing a big Autocad DXF/DWG always said "not enough memory"... I've 4GB Ram, even if you update DWG/DWG.aip
But the same file is opened on a G5 with less Ram.
Restarting AI CS3 in Rosetta mode Autocad file is correctly opened with all his layers.
n.

I don't know what the problem might be?? I was hoping to get some reaction or a suggestion to solve the problem by posting this thread. The only solution I've found on some vector design forum, was to use Illustrator CS2 for the DWG export. In Illustrator CS2 the DWG export works properly. But if you don't have CS2 it might be hard to get it, because Adobe only sells the new versions and not the old CS2 versions any more. So I hope you have CS2 too.

  • DWG/DXF import from Sketchup to Illustrator CS6

    HI!
I have recently discovered the ability to import dwg/dxf files from Sketchup Pro (using AutoCAD Version: Release 14) into Illustrator CS6...
However, the only way that I seem to be able to see the DWG is by selecting 'Scale to Fit Artboard'... When I attempt to import using 'Original Size' or the 'Scale by' input factor the item doesn't seem to show anywhere on the artboard?
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Mike!
Well, the sketchup file was created in mm, but for some reason their export 2D Graphic dialog box only has inches option (not that it should make any difference since the scaling factor runs the same across the board). Just in case I've changed the units in the sketchup file to inches to bring consistency and match the exporting parameters.
I've exported the sketchup file to DWG and DXF as both 1:1 and 1:200 to cover all angles and then import into Illustrator as 1:200 and 1:1 respectively to no avail. I've also tried to export and 1:1 and bring in at 1:1 but again no luck, and also attempted to import into Illustrator using the 'Original Scale' tick box.
The only way the import works is by selecting 'Scale to Fit to Artboard' which obviously gives me an arbitrary scale. I guess a workaround might be to draw a bounding box over the contents in Sketchup and use this to manually scale in Illustrator? My only fear here is losing accuracy though...
    What do you think?

  • ~.DWG/DXF Files not loading - "Meter Limit:100"

I am trying to load some ~.dwg/dxf files from a CD to use with TurboCAD MAC Pro v2.0 on my MBP 2.16GHz Core Duo. When either attempting to open or import the files (they are small ones, only a few KB), the process starts and then almost immediately ceases. I noticed that the Console log shows a message " +------ Started Loading DXF File... Meter Limit: 100+" The files have been checked on both PC and Mac machines by IMSI TurboCAD techies and they are kosher, so it looks as though my machine has some issue. Does anyone know what this "+Meter Limit: 100+" represents and whether it is stopping the loading of these files? Any help or clues about this will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks.
    George

    Just to close this thread:
Apparently, there was a new "build" (version), #657, of this application available that I was not aware of. Upon installing the upgrade, the issue was resolved and I was able to open the files. Thanks to all who offered help and suggestions.

  • Unable to import DWG CAD files to WCS

    Hi all,
I am trying to import a DWG CAD file to my WCS 4.2.62.0 for a floor area. Everything I read says I can import DWG CAD files (as well as gif, jpeg, and png) for Floor Areas but I am unable to do so. I get the following error message:
The image file is invalid. GIF, JPEG, and PNG files are acceptable image types for campuses and outdoor areas. DXF and DWG CAD files are acceptable in addition to GIF, JPEG, and PNG for Floor Areas.
Any ideas on why I am unable to import a DWG file as a floor area?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi MH, thanks for your response. Here are some links to the literature I was referring to.
This is the WCS Configuration Guide, release 4.2:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6305/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00808e525f.html#wp1125793
This is the WCS Release Notes for WCS version 4.2.62.0. It appears that support for AutoCAD files is a new feature in this release:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/release/notes/WCSRN4_2.html#wp44484
I hope those links work ok for you. I'll have to take a look at this Trapeze/Nortel 'RingMaster' (it is a great name).
    Thanks,

  • Bug in CS3! When I tilt-crop a picture, the result is a distorted picture, why is that!?

Bug in CS3! When I tilt-crop a picture, the result is a distorted picture, why is that!? The pictuer gets squezed togeher and faces look markably thinner.

    Hi again,
CS3 is a wonderful program. But behaves strange some times.
As it is now I first need to rotate the picture "ctrl+T" before the croping occure to get the portions right. I thought that if I, can, rotate the crop tool it, should, be possible to do this operation in one step. But not. Or? Okej, the operation may work in one step, but the result is horrible. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for a quick reply!

    Hello,
It's a possible issue whith the JDT compiler version of your tomcat distribution.
You know that jasper is the engine that transform jsp to classes and to achive this goal uses a jdt compiler or the ant task javac compiler.
First check that the JDT compiler class is present in the trace of the exception you have.
If this is the case follow the steps of the tomcat documentation in order to use the ant compiler.
    http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/jasper-howto.html
Apache Ant, which was used in previous Tomcat releases, can be used instead instead of the new compiler by simply removing the common/lib/jasper-compiler-jdt.jar file, and placing the ant.jar file from the latest Ant distribution in the common/lib folder. If you do this, you also need to use the "javac" argument to catalina.sh.
If you check the code of the tomcat compilation context seems that you can do the same, without removing any file, by setting the compile parameter of the JspServlet to an arbitrary value diferent from null.
Try this other alternative by editing the file %TOMCAT_HOME%\conf\web.xml
and set the compiler attribute as follow
        <servlet>
            <servlet-name>jsp</servlet-name>
            <servlet-class>org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet</servlet-class>
            <init-param>
                <param-name>fork</param-name>
                <param-value>false</param-value>
            </init-param>
            <init-param>
                <param-name>xpoweredBy</param-name>
                <param-value>false</param-value>
            </init-param>
            <init-param>
                <param-name>compiler</param-name>
                <param-value>Ant</param-value>
            </init-param>
            <load-on-startup>3</load-on-startup>
</servlet>If this works for your problem we can check the jdt code and perhaps make a patch.

  • Bug: LR3 unable to import some images from catalog

I've apparently encountered an odd bug in Lightroom that is preventing the "Import from Catalog..." feature from working on some files, or more specifically, one directory.  I'm trying to merge images from my laptop catalog to my desktop catalog (e.g. Y:\LaptopPictures to F:\SourcePictures).  When I attempted to import images from 2009 and 2010 the 2009 images imported correctly, but the 2010 images triggered an error: "Lightroom was unable to copy the files for these images to the folder you selected.  \\Users\me\Pictures\2010\...".    Note that the path "\\Users\me\Pictures\2010..." does not match the source or destination locations for the catalog import.  Also, during the import the 2010 images were not correctly identified as duplicates.
Once all of the 2009 images were imported, an attempt to re-import the catalog causes the "File Handling:" option to omit the "copy" option, only giving me the "add without moving" and "don't import new photos" options.
It would appear that Lightroom is somehow getting confused for images dated 2010, perhaps related to a previous import where I accidentally imported pictures into \\Users\me\Pictures (instead of my media drive).  Finally I tried a straight import of the images, and Lightroom was able to correctly identify duplicates and import the images, and then a subsequent import from catalog appears to have successfully copied over ratings and keywords.  So, it's not catastrophic, but it's still an extremely annoying issue.
Has anyone seen an issue like this before?  Is there some magical hidden email address for submitting Lightroom bugs?

This doesn't appear to be a network issue since: a) I hadn't encountered this problem using network-mapped drives in Lightroom before, and b) the process works for other files outside of 2010.  In general, Lightroom has performed wonderfully over the network, with a gigabit ethernet connection far outperforming an external drive.  To confirm my hypothesis, I did copy the entire Lightroom catalog over to the destination machine, and I saw exactly the same problem.  Interestingly, I did another test where I exported a 2010 image to a new catalog, and it was able to import correctly, so it's possible that there is something going on with the "working" catalog that is confusing Lightroom on my desktop.  Although these workarounds help, the bug remains the same: importing from one catalog to another is not working on a subset of files for some unknown reason.  Of course, the end result of this will most likely not be Adobe finding a fix for the bug, but instead will be me spending several hours re-exporting and re-importing and manually cleaning up metadata and duplicates, which is disappointing.

  • CS3 premiere import ppj. project problem

    Hi,
I gotta problem with CS3 premiere importing a project file.
I'm grabbing Premiere project file ppj. from Premiere 6.5 on
PC and transferring it to CS3 on Mac. Problem is when I try
to do this. I can't, it has an error message saying "this project
was saved in a version prior to adobe premiere pro cs3 and
can not be opened on a mac." Is there anyway to fix this
    problem?
    Thank You
    Paul

    Yep...
Open it in 1.5 and save it
...then open it in 2.0 and save it...
    then open it in CS3
then you only have to deal with opening it cross platform.

  • Always getting 'import cannot be resolved' for IPrivate* imports

    Hi,
Everytime I import a Web Dynpro DC from our NWDI I see 'import cannot be resolved' errors when I open for example the Component Controller implementation. An Organize Imports does not fix this. If I rightclick inside the code and select 'Show in Package Explorer' it jumps to the .java file for the implementation (within the gen_wdp folder). In that same tree I can see the IPrivate*.java files as well.
I also tried Repairing and Rebuilding the project. All to no avail...
Why is this happening and how can I resolve it?
    Kind regards,
    Pascal Willemsen

If I open the generated Java files in gen_wdp I see loads of errors (all '...cannot be resolved...'), but the Tasks view contains no errors at all (answer to Armin).
A development component build runs and seems to succeed without problems.
It seems that the Web Dynpro's contain a circular dependency, which I think is the cause of the problem:
    1. wdThis in the Component Controller is an IPrivateComponent instance.
    2. IPrivateComponent extends IPublicComponent.
    3. IPublicComponent has a gen_delegate member which is an InternalComponent instance.
    4. InternalComponent implements IPrivateComponent.
I guess NWDS doesn't know where to start...?

  • Import cannot be resolved for IPrivate* imports

    Hi All,
I got the error "import cannot be resolved for IPrivate* imports'" when I import existing project. And then I close the project, copy files to gen_wdp folder again and open project according to the method in Thread
Always getting 'import cannot be resolved' for IPrivate* imports.
    Then the problem resolved.
After that I have done some modifications and rebuild it. However the same problem occurs again. I repeat close/open project again but it doesn't help. That's to say I cannot make any modifications to the project and build out any new EAR files.
If anyone can help, I will appreciate it a lot.
    Xiao

    Hi Xiao,
Is <b>ShineWay_ReClaimsView</b> a view in your component in this project ?
If yes ensure that it doesn't have any errors. Then rebuild your project.
If you in dc environment and this view is from other project (dc). Then ensure that the dc having this view is build (dc build) correctly.
As abhilash said the gen_wdp files are generated and you shouldn't touch them. You will get more problems than solutions.

  • Help in JSP : Only a type can be imported x.y resolves to a package

    I have a strange problem,
    I have two domains
    http://client.spry-forms.com (login using demo/demo)
    http://spry-forms.com/ClientAdmin (login using demo/demo)
The server is setup with only tomcat 6.0.18.0
Both the above domains are mapped to tomcat/webapps/ClientAdmin.
When some one logs in from the second url, the link CREATE NEW FORM at page http://www.spry-forms.com/ClientAdmin/forms.jsp works fine but
when some one logs in from the first url (client.spry-forms.com) the link 'CREATE NEW FORM' at page http://client.spry-forms.com/forms.jsp produces this error

How do you do the multiple domain config -> web application?Thank you for your reply and
    Sorry for my late response
Ok the /ClientAdmin is not a domain, but it is a directory in the spry-forms.com
I import the DemoConnection.java like this
<%@ page import="java.sql.*,view.DemoConnection,java.util.*"%>I did not do the domain config, as I am not the administrator, The admin wants me to resolve this.
I think the problem is caused because tomcat cannot find the DemoConnection.class.
By layout I think you are asking about the direcotry tree structure
    It is like this
    Tomcat
        webapps
            ClientAdmin
                jsp files
                WEB_INF
                    web.xml

                            DemoConnection.class
some more classesDo you think the problem is with the domain configuration....?

  • PPro CS3 JPG import problems

Hi, CS3 PPro, importing JPGs often results in a blacked out file, but when re-opened in Corel PPT it is fine.  deleting it and re-importing results in same problem.  When placed in timeline, it remains black.  Have played with adding Color mask, but makes no difference.
This problem also occurs occasionally with JPGs that work fine initially, but at some point in the project they black out.  Some JPGs work fine.
All have same location on drive, none have been moved, or names changed.
    Help!!!

    Welcome to the forum.
What are the pixel x pixel dimensions of the JPEG's, and what is the Frame Size of your Sequence Preset?
If your JPEG's are overly large, this ARTICLE will provide some background and hints on how to batch process them in PS.
Now, there are some other considerations with JPEG's. They must be RGB. They cannot be Progressive (a Web feature to partially load images, until the full one downloads), and some programs do not create perfect JPEG headers. Adobe programs have issues, with improper JPEG headers, but other programs do not. The trick is to open a problem JPEG in one of those, like the free IrfanView, and just do a Save - the header will be correctly written.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Keyword exporting bug also impacts catalogs imported from PSE 6

    Hi,
I haven't seen any mention of it, but the keyword exporting bug reported for catalogs imported from LR 1.x also impacts catalogs imported from Photoshop Elements 6. i.e. all Keywords imported from my PSE 6 catalog have "Include in export", "Export Containing Keywords", and "Export Synonyms" properties set to false.
I've reported the bug, but as it seems the same as described in KB 405074 (and more importantly, its fix works for formerly PSE catalogs as well!), I'm sure it will be fixed in the next update.
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405074&sliceId=2
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Brian,
When I installed the trial for LR2 I was asked whether I wanted to upgrade my existing PSE6 catalog.
Screenshot of this can be found here: http://dawsons.id.au/temp/pse6-to-lr2-catalog.png
That's it. I haven't imported any keywords via any other method.
    Thanks,
    Matt
PS I'm impressed with the level of Lightroom team involvement in these forums. I've been a PSE user for at least 5 years and have never received feedback from that team re posts/support calls/feature request/bug reports. I've been a LR user for about two weeks and I've already had Tom and yourself reply to my posts. You've got to be happy with that!

  • CS3 bugs fixed for intel macs?????????

CS2 when it came out was not designed for the Intel processor so there was problems until adobe managed to iron out the problems. The only issue is CS2 the performance is not as great as it should be due to this. Is CS3 fully compatible with Intel macs?
On cs2 now and researching into whether its right to upgrade now or leave it a year?

CS3 is made to run natively on the Intel machines. CS3 works best running under Tiger if you have an Intel machine that has Tiger CS3 will run great. If you need to get a new machine that is Leopard only, then there are a few issues.
As Bob said there are many threads.
