Bug: OS 4.5 Media Player does not allow BB screen to shut off when playing streaming audio

I updated my Verizon Pearl 8130 to OS 4.5.  Now, when streaming audio from a station such as "Groove Salad" at http://www.somafm.com, the screen does not shut off but stays on indefinitely, wasting precious battery power.  OS 4.3 Media Player did allow the screen to turn off when streaming audio.
- Bill

I have a similar issue since upgrading to to 4.5 with my vzw 8130.   with 4.3 I was able to stream audio and then have it run in the background to read messages or address book for example all the while the audio was still playing.   Now once I get the audio streaming and back out to the main menu the media player quits.

  • Windows Media Player does not recognize new downloaded songs

I have a Pavilion a4310f Prod Nr:  AY014AA-ABA running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I just discovered that Windows Media Player does not recognize songs I recently downloaded from the Wal-Mart Music Download Site.  The songs can be seen in the Music Library in a folder named "Downloads" and I can open each song and it will play when double clicked.  The problem is that I can not create a playlist containing the new songs and burn a copy of the playlist because the songs are not listed in the Media Player library no matter hot it is sorted (Artist, Album, Genre, etc).
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You might also want to consider moving the songs to my Music or the folder you have WMP set as your Music folder. You can find/change that folder in WMP by going to File ---> Manage Libraries
Launch WMP ----> Tools ----> Options --->Privacy and be sure that the Display information from the internet box is checked.

  • Adobe Media Player does not show day 5

On my computer, the Adobe Media Player does not show day 5. Shows days 1 through 4.
Also on Day 4, trying to view the video "Create States and How to bind them"
I get a "corrupt file" error when trying to watch using the Adobe Media Player...
Also will someone please give a clear statement how to do a download of the files so
we can watch them off line.  This still isn't clear to me.
I don't know what Craig is talking about below: How does that relate to downloading the
    files.
The new instructions and feed links are now live on the Flex in a Week video training home page:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/videotraining/
    Please try them out!

Use iTunes.  It is designed to sync a Nano and other Apple devices.

After installing All the Software for Audigy 2ZS Platinum. My Windows Media Player will not play any video streams from MSN or Yahoo. Is there any known conflict with any of the software or how can I make the software compatible with WMP v0 windows XP.

    Hi,
Try the following to force Windows Media Player to re-build the Library Database.
A useful utility for viewing all the files on your PC is called Free Commander, on the link below, as it displays folders that the Operating System normally hides and has a good search function.
    http://www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?id=107872&a=7122339&tag=601108&loc=10
This is a zipped file.  If you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip which can be used to open this so that you can run the installer.
Make sure Windows Media Player and Windows Media Centre are closed.
Launch Free Commander, double click Users, double click 'your user name', double click Local Settings, double click Application Data, double click Microsoft and double click Media Player.  Delete all the files that have the extension .wmdb - do not delete any folders.
Close Free Commander and open Windows Media Player - it will now begin to re-build the library database which may take a while, but when it has finished see if the movie files play Ok now.
    Regards,
    DP-K

  • Flash Player does not launch full screen upon Windows restart

We have a Flash application file (flash.exe file) saved on the Desktop of our client's 46" touchscreen. We've created a shortcut to the application in the Windows Start/All Programs/Startup menu as we have 4 reboots scheduled during the day for this application. Upon reboot, the application does not launch full screen but if I cancel out of the application through the Task Manager and go to the Startup menu and double click the shortcut to the exe file, the application launches full screen. The size of the screen and application is 1920x1080.
    Other information:
    Windows XP SP3
    Flash Player 10
(Please note I have fixed the Window System Error that you see in this screen shot)
    Thank you for your help!

  • OVi Player does not allow download music with prox...

    Hello,
i've noticed that OVI Player deos not allow to download music when I am inside the firewall or under a corporate proxy. ANy idea if this is a restriction from Nokia Player or is it specific to my connection ?

    Dear svenks,
If you scroll down the discussion topics, you will realise many other users are facing music download problem after upgrading from Nokia Music to Ovi Player.
Same for me, whether I connect my WinXP Prof 32-bit notebk behind my company firewall or at my home's ADSL broadband with Windows Firewall off, antivirus off, http://music.ovi.com set as trusted site, the downloading still fails.
Per advised by Nokia careline, I have already sent them a log file and now waiting for their investigation.
I wonder if anyone in the world is currently successful in downloading songs using Ovi Player. If yes, I would really like to know what PC configuration they are running under.

  • 3rd party Sansa media player does not appear in Itunes

A friend of mine gave me his Sansa Clip media player and asked me to put some music on it. He had 20 some songs that I agreed to purchase for him, and then put them on his media player. Well, duh, I've since learned that purchased songs can only be loaded onto Apple devices. So now I've spent $25.00 on music that for the most part, I could care less about.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
One last question, the Sansa device does not launch Itunes; nor does it even show up in the Itunes window. The device info does say its mac compatible???

    lhutton wrote:
How do I insure they are mp3's?
If you bought them from the iTunes Store, they are surely not MP3s. If you bought them from Amazon.com they are MP3s.
    Aren't they locked/protected from converting?
If you bought them from the iTunes Store, and did so recently, they are unprotected AAC files. You can convert them to MP3 by following the instructions in the Help article "Saving a copy of a song in a new file format." Note that the conversion process leaves you with the new file as well as the original, so make sure you don't stick your friend with the AAC.

  • Adobe media player does not have content after install.

I just got into school for web development and they sent the cs5 master suite, adobe media player came with it. After installing it and logging in, I went to the adobe tv site and seen a slew of tutorials that I would love to use with adobe media player. Everything I do will not add the videos, adding the rss feed only says its not available and there is nothing in it at all. I am very disappointed in this. Hopefully I am doing something wrong.
    Please advise

  • QuickTime distorts DV imports while Media Player does not

I understand NTSC is 525 analog interlaced, etc...
The problem I have is that if I import a home movie (Digital DV Format) and play this raw file in Windows Media Player for example, the aspect ratio is 3:2.
However if I play the same file with Quick Time, the video looks stretch as if QuickTime does not realize that even if the file is 720x480 it needs to be compressed horizontally. Try it out! QT does not adjust for the fact that imported DV The only way so far that I managed to get quicktime to display in the correct aspect ratio 3:2 is to resize the file to 640x480 but that reduces the quality.
Microsoft seem to understand exactly what I am refering to here: take a look at the following link
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/howto/articles/PixelFrames.aspx
Now do you understand the problem?
