BUG: Raptor hangs when attempting to regenerate DDL
Hello there,
I'm using Raptor with 8i, so I know it's not officially supported on this database. However, it might be that the bug I'm about to describe would occur when connected to 9i or 10g aswell.
Here is what I do:
1. Open a package file for editing (Ctrl-O).
2. In the object browser in the left-hand pane, I select a table. I then select the "SQL" tab showing in the right-hand pane. Raptor then successfully generates the DDL for the table.
3. I click on the tab showing the open file containing my package to do a text search within my code. Everything is okay so far.
4. I click back on the table tab in the right-hand pane/work area. A "Generating DDL" message box appears. Raptor then freezes completely.
Is this a known bug, or am I the first to encounter it?
DDL generation is very slow but I tested this against a supported db and it took quite a while to gen the ddl the second time (actually, just as long as it did the first time) but did not freeze.

On my PC running windows XP Service Pack 3, iTunes 11.0.3.42 causes it to hang when attempting to view a .MOV (1.6 GB) requiring a cold boot. What could be causing this? Corrupted .MOV? Too little RAM? It successfully plays a 162 MB .MOV.
Hello David,
Thank you for providing all that information about the iTunes issue you are experiencing. We would first want to rule out any software issues before we can determine if it has to do with RAM. I found an article that will help you isolate and troubleshoot software issues that could be causing iTunes to behave this way:
iTunes for Windows XP: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1421
I hope this helps you get back on track with watching movies in iTunes!
Best,
Sheila M. -
Preview hangs when attempting to print documents....
Since upgrading to Lion. Preview hangs when attempting to print documents....
Will not even open the print dialog window and results in having to use Force Quit to Exit. Anyone experiencing the same? Any ideas?Just notices the other threads actually. Interesting about the Canon print drivers, as I do have UFRII Canon drivers loaded. I have a number of different Printers, including Lexmark, HP Plotters and Canon.
The hang log doesn't come up after the crash. But I think this the Entry in Console relating to the last time it went down:

Iphoto hangs when attempting to print photo
iphoto hangs when attempting to print photo even after rebuilding library
With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive? -

Also to note is that this hanging of PDF is not always, it only hangs when it is my user's first time trying to save/open any document document.
I have tried to uninstall the pdf software, and reinstalled.
I have confirmed that the windows and PDF version is the latest as of this posting,
Please advise. Thank you.

Lightroom hangs when attempting to import RAW files from D750
Hi guys,
I purchased lightroom 5 sometime back to install on multiple platforms. Recently did an update on my macbook and it was able to read the NEF files from D750.
However when I installed lightroom 5 on my iMac, the prog keeps hanging when I attempt to import files from the D750. Other NEF files from my D700 were ok.
Anyone knows why?Could be a hardware issue
Make sure the cable connection to the D750 is properly connected. Also, if possible try using a card reader. Or vice versa. -
Firefox 4 hangs when attempting to view the Applications tab in Preferences
Firefox 4 under MacOS X 10.6.6 hangs when I click to select the "Applications" tab on the Preferences dialog. It never paints the pane. When this happens, it consumes 60% CPU. Running dtruss against the running process shows a little activity, but not much.
I have tried deleting mimeTypes.rdf. It recreated a new, smaller one, but it made no difference to the problem. I have let Firefox continue to run for up to 10 minutes, with no change in responsiveness. I am forced to kill it every time. It is 100% reproducible on my system.I just discovered that if I disable the Quicktime plugin (7.6.6), this problem goes away.

IPhoto hangs when attempting to import certain CR2 files
Hi everyone.
After 3 months of owning and using my MacBook, I have finally found that iPhoto isn't a bad software at all, and I want to start using it. So of course the first thing I did was to import some recent photos I made.
By now I have successfully imported JPG and CR2 files from my external FAT32 HDD. But there are some CR2 files that make iPhoto hang: Actually not the whole application hangs, but only the import section (it is still possible to browse albums etc). clicking the "Stop" button won't change a thing, despite the text "stopping..." underneath the progress bar.
A friend of mine tried to import one of the regarding CR2 files, and it worked on his PowerBook G4 - same software versions.
Help. I don't know what to do. Been searching for a solution for days. Thanks in advance for every hint.
MacBook 13" Mac OS X (10.4.8) iPhoto 6.0.5 (316); Camera: Canon EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XTAh - sorry, it's hard to gauge what level of expertise people have and probably safer to underestimate than overestimate.
So any messages in Console when iPhoto hangs? Sometimes those are human-readable and offer clues.
What about opening the file using QuickTime? Does that work?
It's possible you ran into an actual bug, but it's hard to tell without the files. If you manage to isolate the exact files that cause the hang, you could try other things, like import them to a newly created library (option-launch iPhoto just in case you didn't know)
You could also dig through the EXIF data that Preview shows (Cmd-I) and see if those files have anything in common, like a bogus value for aperture or focal length or something. I know a friend complained about photos taken by the manual Lensbaby lenses, but I don't know if that has been addressed in recent updates. -
PSCS5 is hanging when attempting to duplicate
When I attempt to duplicate image in PSCS5 , I get a window that has name of the copy file... but no image.
This has happened after working with Nik plug in or opening file and click on duplicate.
I have to force quit program. All work done in Nik is lost and not able to dupe images to resize and make new versions for different needs.
working with OX10.7.1 Any suggestions greatly appreciated.lindaenger wrote:

You could start by making sure Photoshop is updated to version 12.0.4 and your OS to version 10.7.2 of Lion. Lion still has many bugs, but 10.7.2 is better than 10.7.1. (Apple usually gets its act together by the dot six release of a given OS, so when we get to 10.7.6 or so of Lion, things should really begin improving. )
You should also contact Nik for updated versions of their software.
Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility.
It wouldn't hurt to trash your Photoshop preferences. To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"

ICloud hangs when attempting login - iOS safari web login
Hi all
Looking for some help. When someone wants to share a reminders list with me I recieve and email acknowledging that they would like to share. I'm then prompted to click on the icon I the email - which takes me into an iCloud login page on the web through safari on ios.
When I attempt to enter my Id and password it just hangs endlessly. It won't login.
If I attempt to do this on my Mac however, it works fine and will login allowing me to allow the share in iCloud.
And ideas on how to fix the hang at login?Does that mean that in order to accept and initiate the sharing function from the email invite, I have to be on my desktop computer?
I'm surprised that apple would set it up this way. -
ITunes hangs when attempting to connect to Airport Express
I searched and couldn't find anything directly relevant. Here is my problem:
I am using a Powerbook G4 to stream audio to an Airport Express. This has worked with no major issues for almost two years on a WEP encrypted network. Yesterday I did the following:
Update OS from 10.4.9 to 10.4.11
Update iTunes from 7.4 to 7.5
Change encryption to WPA
The Airport Express light is green, and I can access its settings through Airport Admin Utility. The Airport Express is visible as an option in iTunes, and when I select it a small window pops up saying something along the lines of "Connecting to AirportName". The connection never happens, and iTunes hangs on this window indefinitely.
Any thoughts? I did the updates so I could use my new iPod touch, and I switched to WPA because I read somewhere that it is more secure.
Thanks for any helpI had a similar experience and found patience to be the answer. For some reason it took 5-10 minutes for my Apple TV to get past the "Loading Mike's Media" message. In the meantime my iTunes was unresponsive. My library is not exceptionally large (about 160gb with 57 movies and 67 TV shows).
After that initial long wait, I tried switching back and forth between Apple TV as the source and my iTunes as the source. Each subsequent reconnect to iTunes only took about 40 seconds.
I have no idea why it takes so long. I did a little probing, and iTunes was neither using much CPU nor doing much I/O during the long wait. Quite odd. -
Folks,
I'm running production SQL Developer on Oracle Linux 5.8 and whenever I click the Java link in the Connections Navigator with a SYS AS SYSDBA connection SQL Developer hangs.
Oracle Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.1.0
SQLDeveloper 4.0.0.13.80
Oracle Linux 6
JDK Version 1.7.0_45
Doing the same thing with user SCOTT (no SYSDBA) works fine (although there are not any Java objects).
Thanks,
RichThis has been logged as a bug.
The bad plan/performance has been logged as a bug. SQL Developer didn't hang for me - I was able to cancel the query using the Task Progress panel. -
PP CC 2014.2 Hangs When Attempting to Import FCP7 XML
Hi All. I'm attempting to import an FCP7 sequence into Premiere Pro CC 2014.2. Every time I try to import, the Translation Report dialog box and the "Import Files" progress indicator appear, but then PP just hangs with the spinning beach ball. I've tried various sequences and different PP projects, but have had no success. I've Trashed PP Prefs using Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager, and rebooted, but neither seemed to help.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Jay
I'm on a Mac Pro 5,1 (2010), 32GB RAM, GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, OS X 10.10.1I'm having the same issue. I tried exporting the sequence as XML V5, V4 and even V1, with the same result. The "Import Files" box opens, the queue bar is empty and it locks up.

Bug Report - Hang when run query and then click on connection
SQL Developer hangs if you run a query in a SQL Worksheet, then while it's still running, right-click on the connection in the Connections window. It will come back again once the query finishes, but usually you want to open another sql worksheet while the query is still running so you can do other things.
I find the whole screen refresh very buggy, it's probably related to using Swing. I have to restart SQL Developer about once an hour. That's the way sqldev works: almost every action requires querying the connection. Since the connection is busy with your query, it just hangs there until finished.
Lots of users complained about this, and some rudimental checks where put in place to pop up a "connection busy" dialog instead, but you will only see that in a few situations. Really, this needs a lot of work to filter out unnecessary queries. If other commercial products can, so can sqldev...
There's also an accepted feature request for automatically opening more connections when necessary (on the SQL Developer Exchange), so you can vote and add comments if you want to.

Crystal XI hangs when attempting to edit a formula
I open XI and load a template. I try to edit a formula and the app hangs totally, so that the only thing I can do is close it with the Windows Task Mgr. When I do this, I get the msg screen: "The system cannot end this program because it is waiting for a response from you".
I normally work with rev. 11.0.0.2812, which is what our company certifies for use with our product (GE Healthcare - radiology application). In the process of troubleshooting, I uninstalled XI and reinstalled, so now I'm testing on 11.0.0.895, as I haven't yet applied the service pack and hotfix that the company specifies. Both behave the same way.
I thought this was the dual-monitor problem, as I work with a laptop and a monitor in extended mode. But I've switched from dual screens to only the monitor, and I also tried only the laptop LCD - the problem remains.
I've checked "Reset all toolbars and explorers on next restart", closed and reopened the app - the problem remains.
I am connected to our office VPN via wireless (working from home). I tried this with the Crystal template file on an office server and on my local drive - no difference.
I can remote desktop to any of my customers' sites, open THEIR Crystal XI and work - it's only when I run Crystal on my own PC that I have this problem.
Does anyone have any thoughts? This is my main job role and my No. 1 application - without it I'm truly dead in the water.
Thanks - Peter Tourinklebaner
