Bug Report: constant crashes in CS6 (Win 7)

I have only finished a couple small projects without a crash. Sometimes it crashes moments in. There doesn't seem to be any clear pattern to it.
I'm using Windows 7.
Here's what the problem description comes up with in the crash dialog:

  • IOS 8 Bug Reporter suddenly crashes constantly

    Hi,
I have ios 8 beta. Earlier today I was making drafts in the Bug Reporter application that came with ios 8. I currently have 4 drafts. I could not submit these yet beacuse I did not have wifi. So, when I finally got to wifi, I opened the Bug Reporter, entered my email and password, and then it crashed right after that. I have done a reset, and a restart. I just cant seem to find out what the problem is and why this will not work, because I have already submitted 3 bug reports yesterday and some today with absolutely no problems. I managed to dig up a log file from the Bug Reporter crash and will post it below. I hope somebody can kindly help, as I am trying to make ios 8 a better OS for apple and users when it is released. I can not do this without Bug Reporter.
    Thank you so very much!!

  • CS5/6 Driver Error leads to constant crash in CS6. I've tried everything...

I've tried everything I can think of, anyway. (Wouldn't fit in the title) Pardon my nubbishness in advance. Sorry, I've been searching for the answer for two days (on and off) for a solution, but to no avail.
So I was using CS5.1 for a while with no problems. Everything went well until one day it gave me an error on hardware acceleration. All it did was give me a scrubby zoom. I spent a few days researching it and eventually gave up on finding a solution.
So I thought I'd try out CS6, to see if it fixed anything. It doesn't. It's worse, even. It crashes randomly at various actions (like switching tools, changing layers, saving), and it crashes without fail if I use liquefy or transform a layer and then try to duplicate it (I'm just trying to make a gif, darnit!) If I'm just drawing and erasing and using undo, it doesn't crash as much. Scrubby zoom is still a problem.
My driver is up to date according to the HP website:
    Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver2010-12-03 , Version:8.15.10.2189, 78.05M
It's really old, but HP isn't updating it. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Moot point.
The driver is compatible with OpenGL.
I also tried this driver, but apparently it's not compatible.
    Additional info/things I've tried:
    Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU M 450 @ 2.40GHZ 2.40 GHz
    RAM: 4GB
    System type: 64-bit
    No third-party plug-ins.
    60% memory available to Photoshop.
Photoshop is updated to the latest version.
Windows is updated (I spent a freggin day trying to figure that out because updates were frozen, and then spent 3 hours trying to figure out why F8 wouldn't bring up advanced boot options so I can delete old update logs so I can update windows so I can get photoshop working--TO NO AVAIL)
GPU support option is greyed out, so it's already turned off.
When it crashes, all Windows says is "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working".
Then the details afterwards note "files that help describe the problem", which include...

So I looked up other issues regarding "aticfx64.dll", and nothing helps. The most similar thread I could fine was http://forums.adobe.com/message/5149760, but I don't have anything related to ATI, so it doesn't help. > _< Everything was working fine before, so I don't know why this happened.
Please help. ; ^; I always try to figure it out on my own before I ask for help, but I'm totally stumped. If you need any additional info, please tell me. I'll try to get it (if I know how to access it). I'll keep searching for answers.
My last options are either to downgrade again, or to upgrade my video card, but I have no idea where to start! I don't know what kind of video card I need.

  • Bug report - Finder crashes in Cover Flow mode with large files

I just came back from the Apple store and was told that I have discovered another bug in Leopard. When in Cover Flow view in Finder and trying to browse directories with large ( multiple GB) files, Finder continually crashes and reboots, oftentimes with 2 new FInder windows.
I created a new user on my MBP to remove the effect of any preferences and the problem repeated itself.
Come up Apple... get on top of these bugs and issue some patches...
Not the kind of new OS I expected from a top notch company like Apple.

Ah... that'll be it then, they are 512 x 512. well i guess that bugs been hanging around for quite some time now, anyone got any ideas if anyone's trying to fix it? i guess making 128 x 128 icons wouldn't be the end of the world but it does seem like a step backwards.
one thing that still confuses me... an icon file contains icons of all sizes, why does cover flow not select the right size icon to display?
thanks for that info V.K., much obliged.
    regards, Pablo.

  • Bug Report: unable to install CS6 beta

I downloaded and unzipped CS6 beta and installation started OK but gave an error that Photoshop Bridge was running and should be closed.  I closed it and got an error that some background programs were running that should be closed.  Not knowing which of the very many background programs were affecting the installation, I closed Windows and rebooted.  Now the installion program consistently fails to initialize.  I have done system restore and downloaded and unzipped CS6 beta again and nothing enables installation to continue.  I am using Windows 7 Professional (with and without Virtual XP running) on a Dell Inspiron laptop.  Any cures for this?

That is just the first chunk of text that seemed relevant to the crash. If more is needed I can easily recreate the scenario and get the whole report.
I initially tried using the latest release of Indesign CS6 (8.0.2) with the same results. I thought that going to a previous version would help. If anyone can make sense of the text above, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi Danariotti,
My workmate and I are having the same problem here, with the same report you are getting with Indesign CS6.
This started with the upgrade to Yosemite, so we trialled the latest update to Smartstream with Adobe Indesign CC 2014 but this caused the programme to shutdown as soon as you start running indesign. I am hesitant to fully upgrade our Smartstream, as it is expensive for an unstable plug-in. The problem we are having is Adobe blame HP Smartstream and they blame Apple and back around again, we don't seem to get much support. Can you tell me if you get an answer to this please.
    Cheers Tony

  • Help! Flash bug reports returned as "undeliverable"

I've been attempting to submit a bug report regarding Flash Professional CS6 and CS5 on Adobe's official bug reporting page:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I've made three attempts in the past 4 days, and each one has been returned to me as "undeliverable":
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
    [email protected]
The recipient's e-mail address was not found in the recipient's e-mail system...
I've successfully submitted reports regarding Fireworks and Dreamweaver, so the error is not on my end. Does anyone know what's going on here?
As there is no "Flash Professional" option in the list of product names, I've been choosing "Flash Authoring", which I've seen mentioned elsewhere as a suitable choice for general issues with Flash Professional.

Originally, I posted this in the Flash Pro forum... but after a day, I moved it here as I had received no response and it's not a Flash product question, per se. (Also, I'd noticed that the top participants on that forum were all Community Members, whereas this forum includes an Adobe Employee as its top participant and features a number of employee/admin responses.)
I'm not aware of how to reach out to the Flash product managers... Any advice on that subject would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • I'd use Safari's bug report function instead of posting here, but...

    ...it crashes Safari. lol.
    So here are my reports:
    - If Google is set as the default search engine, setting the home page to www.google.com crashes the program.
    - Bookmarks... seems like this topic has been covered well enough. I actually had no problems importing them from Firefox, but adding new ones crashes the program.
    - And as mentioned, the bug report function crashes the program.
Bugs aside, I love it. Looking forward to future releases.

    ...it crashes Safari. lol.
    Haha! It's so Windows-alike!

  • Serious frustration over constant crashing of InDesign CS6

    Hi everyone
I am seriously beyond frustrated over constant crashing from InDesign CS6. If InDesign is a person, I would have slammed its face into the wall by now. Just these two days, while working on a 160 pages document, Indesign has crashed more than 20 times and everytime it does, the crash report is too large to post to pastebin.
Basically, when I reflow text, it crashed. When I tried generating TOC it crashed. While inserting new cross references, I mis-clicked and clicked on "update" instead and it crashed. When I deleted one page, it crashed. When I deleted one textbox, it crashed. I can't seem to stop it from crashing. I'm really really frustrated coz there's no one or place I can take the damn document to so that I can some answers from someone why it crashes soooo frequently. I did another document, which was around the same size, it was fine. No drama. Why this is different?
Is it because I have a running headers? So everytime I do something, it will update and then crash? Can I stop running headers from updating automatically? Can I set it to update manually?
I'm soooooooooooooooo over it. I can't seem to figure out the crashing problem. I have turned off Smart Flow thinking that it was what causing it. Still the same thing.
I'm running OSX Mountain Lion with SF4.
I'm sure it will crash again. I might have to post a pdf doc of the crash report.
    Any idea will be appreciated

It could be a font but there's nothing I could do about it because it's a template document. I have to use that font, DIN by the way.
Yes, there are cross references and some of them were transferred from Word doc when I placed text in. So I went through and removed those coz they were wrong anyway.
I also added cross references to the running headers like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBgBQJLErCM
Basically, the style of the document (designed by another designer) had numbering in front of the chapter titles and it's throughout the document so there could be up to 12 running titles. I had a feeling it would be this because this is the only thing I did differently this time around using this file, but it's either this way or create 12 Master Pages.
Does anyone know how else can I do a running headers with numbering?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Bug Report: DW CS5.5 Crashes Every Time On An Image Map

I am posting this in lieu of contacting Adobe support. I went to my account to send Adobe a bug report and was told I needed to contact support via phone. That's pretty crappy. As a licensed user who's owned it less than three months, there's no direct path to tell you guys that your software is broken?
Here's the deal: I am working on an HTML landing page with one image map attached to one image. Literally, every time I make a modification to the code near the image (tied to the image map) then click into the live preview window, Dreamweaver CS5.5 crashes like a 70-year old on a bar of soap on the floor of the shower. It crashes hard. My only relief is to save the file before clicking into the live preview window. That's my only workaround to the problem.
But I'm left amazed that I can crash it every single time over an image map, flicking from the code to the preview pane. You would think that at version 11.5, a minor thing like that wouldn't hemorrage the supposed creme de la creme of web design software.
Here's the code I'm editing that causes it to crash:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

  • How to do a bug report when firefox doesn't crash ?

    Hello everybody,
I have Firefox nightly since a long time now. But since the beginning of the week, I've got some issues with it. New packages doesn't changed anything.
I have 2 Firefox windows opened, but I can only go to one of them, the other one is inaccessible. I can see it with the Windows task-bar, but, when I click on it nothing occurs.
I'd like to open a bug report, but I don't know what information I have to send with it : everything is about crash report and it isn't.
And yes, I tried to restart with plug-in disabled, ... and it doesn't change anything.
Thanks for taking you time answering me, (and sorry for my English)

I would suggest first of all that you try using a normal release of Firefox. It is easy to use both an ordinary release and another version of Firefox on the same computer, post again if you need help with that.
It is possible the problem you see is not unique to firefox nightly and may even relate to the use of Windows 7.
Have you already read [[safe mode]]

  • Bug Report: Flash Player 13 crashes Firefox 28 often

Crashing scenarios: Youtube videos ending, and opening a new tab simultaneously. That happened while palying a playlist on autoplay, and when playing a video not part of a playlist. Also, listening to Pandora and opening a new tab.
Visual experience of the crash: With the YT crashes, Firefox freezes and never becomes responsive. For the Pandora crash, the whole browser just shuts down and gives me a prompt to report the crash.
How I know it's FP13: I just installed in not even an hour before the first crash. Experiencing 4 crashes within 30 hours, after going 4 weeks without a crash? Very interesting stuff, isn't it.
I could not find a formal way to report a bug, so here is this.
Also, make it easier to downgrade. It's a pain having to get a 140 MB installer package to run one installer that I need, uninstall the new FP, then disconnect from the internet so you don't tell me that I'm trying to install an old version and not giving me the option to continue. If you're not going to test your software extensively to make sure it doesn't crash often, don't force people onto it.
    Running 32-bit Vista.
Searching around, I see that you are going to drop support for 11.7 (what happened to 12? I could not find an installer for that anywhere) on May 13th. You should delay this or actually make FP13 stable.
    Yours truly,
      Exaskryz

Pandora has, and causes, a lot of problems if your audio and video drivers are outdated or corrupted. Also, if you have RealTek® audio, you're never going to get Pandora to "play nice" with it. Flash Player has nothing to do with either of those.
You can find 11.7 here: Flash Player 11.7.700.279 but I have Vista Ultimate (64bit) with Flash Player 14 (beta), and I can run YouTube videos, post here and in the Apple Forums, as well as checking out a few News sites, all at once... and no crashes with FF 29.
