Bug Report: Import Hangs Indefinitely

I've tried several times to get import working, but it always hangs.  I have about 40k pictures (jpg, cr2, dng, a few movies)  on an external drive.  Different amounts get imported each time I try before the hang.  The most I've been able to import is about 3k.
Windows 7 x64, 16GB, i7
I have 3.6 installed, so this is with a clean/new catalog.
I've tried synchronizing after killing the process with no luck.
Once it hangs, LR is responsive, and I can close it, but the process sticks around.
I'm not sure what other info would help here, please let me know if there are other details I can provide.

I've seen this happening too, but with less photos, about 500, import takes forever compared with 3.6, if it does the import at all...  Windows 7 64, an HP Z800 with 24 GB or RAM and a Quadro 5800 and 16 cores.

  • Bug report: import button shows incorrect state for Photo CDs

When inserting a Kodak Photo CD, a graphic of a CD instead of the array of photos appears (that's fine).
The button in the lower right portion of the window says "Stop Import". When pressed with the mouse, import begins. If pressed during the import, importation stops. While the behavior is correct, the button should say "Begin Import" and then change to "Stop Import".

  • Submitting bug reports

MacLoyal, that is my moniker! I am in a state of identity crisis because iPhoto is about to force me to break ranks and seek a place of sanity with a non-Apple photo system. I had to lose the iLife integration with dot mac. I do not want to take such a drastic measure and I truly cannot afford the added expense. I already have thousands of dollars sunk into Apple and all their goodies. My investment in time is something I dare not even try to calculate.
I regret every time I had a "do you want to submit a report" box pop up and cancelled it rather than submitting each and every one with frantic demands for help to correct the mess that iPhoto 5 has caused in my life.
I dare not edit any of the photos in my library. I don't even want to rotate them. Indeed, I dread opening the program! It hangs my laptop computer up indefinitely. The only way I have found to interrupt the hang time, because I cannot even get force quit to work, is to shut the lid and put it to sleep. Amazingly, when I open it again I am not in a suspended state. However, as I stated, I'm reluctant to actually do anything with the program besides, perhaps run the slide show, once I have the program open.
So my question is: How do I send a bug report when I haven't actually gotten to the point that the computer generates the bug message? That seems only to happen with an unexpected quit.
I've noticed that the Safari pull down menu always has a "Submit bug report" message listed, but iPhoto does not have that in the its menu panel. Can I submit a report on any topic on the Safari form or is that only going to make it to the Safari team at Apple? If I can use that form, is there a limit to how many complaints I can inundate them with? I am at my wits end. . .

Of all the programs I've used of OSX IPhoto is the lamest. I really thought it should be better and every time I opened it up and used it I just couldn't get over how poorly it worked. I finally stopped using it altogether and just started using photoshops browser. Now photoshop has the bridge which seems like it would be great (haven't upgraded yet). Even with out the bugs the program just doesn't meet my simplest needs for photos. Good luck finding something that fits your needs and works well on your computer.

  • "Loading Public Synonyms" in SYS schema hangs indefinitely

When I try to expand "Public Synonyms" in SYS schema tree, the "Loading Public Synonyms" message window appears and hangs indefinitely without giving any result.
Trying the same in Reports/All Objects/Public Synonyms I get the result within a second.
    What's wrong?
    I'm running SQL Developer 1.1.2.25.79, Oracle Database 10g R2 (10.2.0.3) on 32-bit RHEL-4.4 AS using Sun jdk1.6.0_01.
    N.J.

If you do a select count(*) from dba_synonyms where owner='PUBLIC' you'll get a figure around 20,000 (I get 19697 from a 10.2.0.1 database out of a total of 23992). So, it'll not only take a while to return all the public synonyms but it'll also take a while to sort the output.
However, I've created a test report with the following SQL and it works quickly
    select *
    from dba_synonyms
    where owner='PUBLIC'
I guess it's a bug in SQL Developer - perhaps one of the development team could confirm?

  • Did you know that Google toolbar doesn't work properly in FF rc1? I have filed a bug report to Google about this

The Google toolbar doesn't recognize a left mouse click when selecting a 'suggestion'. It's OK using the keyboard, however. I have filed a bug report with Google, but as this is an important extension thought you should know.

  • Bug report, how do I find out what is wrong?

my computer keeps getting bug reports stuck all over the desktop. When I print them it is 3 pages long and I dont know how to use the information from it. It only occurs when my son is using Runescape an online game. My son says he has reported all the errors when the computer prompts him to. I did find an Bug Report that seems to be associated with this problem. Our computer did shut down occasionally also, but since I switched the location of the new memory I added it has not continued. The reason I am checking with this website is because this is where the reports are going. The first part of the error report from my computer is this:
    Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) occurred at PC=0x809D50E
    Function=JVM_FindSignal+0x10882

         at a.run(Unknown Source)
         at client.run(Unknown Source)
         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
And the last part of the report reads this:

    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.4.2-b28 mixed mode)
What do I need to do to fix this problem? Could it be Runescapes issue? Is there other information that is more important to this? I really appreciate any help I can get with this problem. And I am sorry for being so long. I have included the Bug Report I found that is an almost exact duplicate of our issue.
    Thank you again, Linda Peterson.

JavaJava13 Hey just wondering. Java is used for runescape on my computer, and it seems to be constantly crashing lately. Not only the game is crshing, it seems to even take down the whole computer with it. Sometimes the computer restarts and I get an error message.
"Your system has recovered from a serious error"
Java continues to add error reports to my desktop with this code: 4F530E43505002EF
    Anyone help?

try checking with runescapes FAQ/tech support. I play
WC3: RoC and i only got that same memory location
error(0xc0000005). I got that memory error when I
used a no-cd third party program when they upgraded
the server. So, my advice is check on the FAQ for
errors and ask your son if he is using
ANY third party programs. The 0xc0000005 error is a standard error on Windows that can occur for any number of reasons.
It means something in the application tried to access memory to which windows knows the application should not be accessing.

  • Where can we submit bug reports?

I'm unable to submit a bug report re: Lightroom's export resizing, because following the trail at feedback.photoshop.com leads you to sign in with your Adobe ID before you can submit the report but when I sign in, the page just says photoshop.com accounts can no longer be created. So, that website failure aside, the text of bug report I was trying to submit:
Lightroom 5's export isn't resizing exactly to specified long edge. For example, when I restrict long edge to 1920, the exported files are 1919. Same with 1024, I get 1023px files instead. If I export from Adobe Bridge, then the long edges are calculated correctly. This problem didn't happen with LR4. Files being exported were DNG and TIF.

Thanks Rob. I tried with both FF and Chrome, and didn't have cookies blocked, still no joy on that front. I already have an Adobe ID (signed in at adobe.com and in creative cloud) but I'll try again at the photoshop.com forums in a few days.
Didn't think about the original dimensions thing.. perhaps that might be it:
If I create a 4000px wide tif in photoshop, import it to LR5, then export to 1920 it outputs a 1920px file. If the source file is a DNG (or TIF after editing in PS) from my D800 (7360 x 4912 uncropped), then LR5 on export outputs a 1919px file instead of 1920. I also created a new file in PS with 7360x4912 dimensions, and after importing that into LR5, I get the same off-by-1 export resizing.
Doesn't seem to matter if the image is cropped (within LR5), if the source file's original dimensions are 7360x4912 (at least on my Win7 PC), LR5 outputs 1919px. If I create a 7380x4912 image, then LR5 resizes to 1920px correctly.
For now I'll just have to go through the extra step of exporting from Bridge, but hopefully someone at Adobe's LR team sees this thread and is able to reproduce & fix this bug.

  • How to delete BUG report?

It's about security reason. Are you worried about sun getting access to your data or about it becoming publicly available?
If it's the former, then you're pretty much screwed, as you willingly submitted it to them. You can ask them "please don't read this", but I wouldn't bet on that helping.
If you're worried about it becoming public knowledge, then I'd contact them. You should have gotten a mail (either during registration or after you reported the bug) that explains a lot about the bug tracking process and contains contact > information as well. If the information is something that's obviously private information (such as username+password to a public site), then you can probably assume that Sun is smart enough not to make that publicly available. Thanks for your reply.
The reason is what you said , there are private information, so i can not let the report become public .
The private information are some class names , package names, and codes .
I got a email after i reported the bug . But i can't find contacts from the mail .
So i come here ,asking a help . Help me to contact whit them......
If you know how to contact whit them , I hope to get your help.

  • Siri bug reporting?

How can one submit a bug report for Siri?  Below for your review - this is sort of important, I think...
Note that Siri is saying "Street Agnes Hospital" instead of "Saint Agnes Hospital" - therefor she finds nothing.
If I search for baltimore hospitals, I can select "Saint Agnes Hospital" from a list.

Is there no phrase in Siri that would simply submit the last query (and Siri's response) as being unsatisfactory?  Why should one have to go to a web form to file a bug against a handsfree interface that is not responding appropriately??

  • [Bug Report!]Adobe Reader can not display 3D file normally!

I have a 3D pdf file, which is produced by Asymptote, and some labels in the 3D model, can not be displayed normally in the Adobe Reader, even the latest version 9.4.I got this file by
    $asy -file pdf -render=4 file.asy
while all of them can be displayed in the OpenGL mode.
    $asy -V file.asy
I hope you can give me a message about the reason and tip about how to solve the problem.

  • Report server hanging

    Hi
Running Reports Server 9ias on win2000 box
Users are reporting that when running reports, application hangs
    ( 2/3 times a day in worst case )
Looking at windows event log, find out that timeouts are occurring
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Service Control Manager
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 7011
    Date: 14/02/2006
    Time: 12:08:51
    User: N/A
    Computer: MOLLY2
    Description:
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the OracleReportServer-rep_molly service.
How do I determine what is causing the timeout ?
Can I increase the time out while trying to find the cause
Awaiting more info from Usera via their IT dept

If you look at showjobs for that Reports Server, what is the error from Oracle on the failing jobs? The URL will be like: http://server:port/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=<SERVERNAME>
I'm not quite sure how things are reported from Oracle into the OS Event Log and whether more important things are missing. Get that info & post if this doesn't help.
Also, I'd recommend that you push up your engines. Look at your CPU load, but if the reports aren't overly complex, changing maxEngine to 4 and minEngine to 2 and initEngine to two. This might help things in general and prevent one report from hanging up lots of other users. If the system is a little bogged down, change the maxEngine to at least 2. A fair rule of thumb is 2 - 4 engines per processor, but if you're not constantly running them on a server, even a large one, I woudn't go more than 4 personally.
Here is the default entry for a Reports Server from a Windows System. It is in the <REPORTS SERVER NAME>.conf file in ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf
    <engine id="rwEng" class="oracle.reports.engine.EngineImpl" initEngine="1" maxEngine="1" minEngine="0" engLife="50" maxIdle="30" callbackTimeOut="90000">

  • Bug Report (reproducible) - Adding an appointment to Google Calendar causes Pre to display a blank calendar.

I have been able to reproduce an important bug on the Pre (webOS 1.0.2).  I didn't see a way to submit an official bug report, so I'm posting it here.
Step 1: Import the following ical file into a Google calendar:  http://www.halfwayproductions.com/test.ics
Step 2: Sync the Google calendar to your Pre
Step 3: Your Pre calendar appears completely blank!
It's worth noting that this file doesn't import correctly into Google calendar.  Google gets the repeat wrong and puts the appointment at the wrong time.  However, this shouldn't cause the Pre to display a blank calendar!
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I confirmed that a meeting location with an apostrophe causes the event to not sync to Google Calendar. Interesting enough, I created an event on Google Calendar with an apostrophe in the location and it sync'd to my Pre, without causing the calendar to go blank. BTW, I'm on 1.1.0.
This seems like it would be a very common occurance as many meetings or appointments could possibly contain apostrophes in the location (Joe's office, Dr's office, Arthur's Tavern, etc). It leaves me with little confidence of what is on the Pre and what is in my Google Calendar, as there could be other issues causing events not to sync, and they are obviously not "in sync." Is anyone looking into a fix for this? (Is Palm or Google listening?) In the mean time, is there any way to get a log of events that did not sync, as opposed to blindly assuming everything was uploaded fine?

Some of these are known occurrences and I believe have been logged into the Palm SW database. Symbols had also been causing Facebook contacts to not sync properly as well. I don't know if getting a log of events that do not sync is possible at this time. However, if a user could post characters and their entry points that are known anomalies that cause the errors, that'd be useful.

  • I'd use Safari's bug report function instead of posting here, but...

    ...it crashes Safari. lol.
    So here are my reports:
    - If Google is set as the default search engine, setting the home page to www.google.com crashes the program.
    - Bookmarks... seems like this topic has been covered well enough. I actually had no problems importing them from Firefox, but adding new ones crashes the program.
    - And as mentioned, the bug report function crashes the program.
Bugs aside, I love it. Looking forward to future releases.

    Haha! It's so Windows-alike!

  • [bug report] ipod as C:

My question - is there any official way to make a bug report that will get seen? I have found that with the latest version of itunes (7.0.2), connecting an ipod mounted by Windows as C:\ will cause the ipod service to hang. The service goes into a loop looking for the device and consumes 100% cpu. It seems as if the ipod service currently does not support an ipod connected as C:\.
The workaround is to reassign the ipod volume through disk management to use a different drive letter.
Would like to see this fixed, since my current windows xp machine has the system drive set to E:\ for various reasons, so the ipod is assigned C:\ by default.

This is the exact same thing I found (by accident) and fixed it using another path - as i explained in another post i made.
