Bug report : in Contact app,people's Chinese name cannot ...

in Contact app,people's Chinese name cannot be reached by clicking the alphabeta letter listed on right side of screen.

To fix contact lists i suggest:
- Distinguish between SIM read-only and read-write contacts. Read-Only contacts should be somewhere in; "Contacts->Settings->Manage SIM card read-only contacs";
- Add aditional contact groups, such as "Local Phone", "SIM (Read-Writable, not those read-only)";
- Support for gmail contacts group;
- Display group icon next to contact name in "All" group, or at least some info directly after taping a contact to distinguish between SIM/Local/Gmail contact;
- fix bug with hiding contact in Phone application when Phone or Gmail contact is linked with SIM contact and SIM contacts are disabled to display;
- maybe add some progress bar when copying to/from SIM card, it last a while and causes impatience
that's all i believe

It is asking if you want to delete all the iCloud contacts off your Mac (not in iCloud).
Delete them. If you keep them you will have duplicates when you turn it back on. You will have the copy you kept and another copy when they resync with iCloud

Bug Report: 5800 Contacts Ringtone bug

Hello,
I own a 5800 ExpressMusic and today I've upgraded my firmware version to latest. The problem I will explain still is not resolved.
The problem is re-producable and is very annoying. Follow these steps:
1- Change the ringing tone to some mp3
2- Edit a contact to have a name like ; )
3- Let that contact call you
The phone rings with the default tone (not the mp3 it was set to). The only way I found to correct it is to revert to more humanly names in contact list. This will be more annoying for people who save their friends with IM nicknames that contain lots of special characters.
PS: Is there any way I can bug report this to technical team right away?

Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Contacts>Sort Order - First, Last or Last, First .... or Display Order and make the changes that you want.

OneNote Windows 8.1 App Changed to Chinese and Cannot Work Out How to Change to English

Since upgrading my Surface Tablet from Windows 8 to 8.1 the OneNote app has changed to Chinese and I cannot work out how to change it back.
Everything else appears to be in English including the desktop version of OneNote 2013 and only the OneNote app appears to be affected.
The tablet is set to English UK in the regional settings and I have already tired removing and reinstalling the app but it is still in Chinese.
I have just upgraded to the Surface 2 and after signing in with my Microsoft account, the OneNote app is in Chinese on here as well.
I have tried all the settings but it is a bit difficult as I can't understand what they say.
Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased both the Surface 1 from John Lewis (department store) and the Surface 2 from PC World.
The surface 1 was fine until installing Windows 8.1 preview and this is when it changed to Chinese.
The regional settings are set correctly to UK so I am unsure how to get it back to something I can understand.
The app is in Chinese on my Windows 8.1 PCs as well at home and at work but all are set to UK. It seems to change as soon as I sign in with my Microsoft account so I don't think the issue is a surface RT issue although it may have originated from there.
I have tried the option to uninstall it from all synced PCs and then install it again but it just installs in Chinese again.
OneNote 2013 doesn't seem to have this problem and it is only the MX/App version.

Bug Report: Linked Contacts Dissapear

if sim contacts display is switched off, all contacts from local storage or synec from gmail doesn't appear in Phone application if linked with any of the sim contacts:
1. find any contact on your synced gmail contacts account (or perhaps local phone contact too)
2. add the very same contact on the SIM card (same number, same name);
3. switch off displaying of SIM-card contacts in Phone application;
4. be sure that gmail contact and that from SIMcard is linked together in People application (as it is really the same contact);
5. now, go to phone application and try to find that gmail contact. it's not there.
not sure is it bug, or is it intended, but it works wrong for me. i have few contacts duplicated (i.e. copy of my phone contacts) on the simcard, but i rather don't want to display them everyday - those sim contacts are emergency one for a case i switch the sim to other device, so i have "Display SIM Contacts" switched off and it makes local contacts to disapear as well.

We use IM as short message tool.But one problem is : We can type Chinense,and it's displayed correctly,but if one user with chinese user name send something message.some disorder words are displayed. What's the problem?

Thanks for your help Peter. If I just double click the file
in Windows Explorer, it displays well. The code referenced in the
file can be shown correctly.
I tried the same guide generated using RoboHelp5, everything
is OK (I'm using RoboHelp 7.0 now). The code in that topic displays
correctly either when the topic is opened from TOC or from the
search list. However, this topic (file) hasn't been changed any
more ever since it was created, so I think something might be wrong
with RoboHelp 7's search functionality. Our QA guess the code may
be complied when RoboHelp performing the searching.

Contacts app crashing....

I have an 8gb 3G that I recently upgraded to iOS4 (including the latest i0S update.) Contacts crashes every time I try to select a contact. All the contacts are there and I can browse through the list just fine though. The very same thing happens when I try to access contacts from the phone app except that I can at least tap to dial my favorites from there.
Other details:
Syncing mail and contacts via Google.
Windows XP with iTunes 9.2.1.4 on the desktop.
Have tried both soft and hard resets multiple times.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas? Thanks!

First success:
0. After reset + backup didn't work:
1. Stopped syncing of contacts in itunes
2. Changed from normal to synch from (googlemail) exchange server and deleted all previous contacts
3. Changed back again from exchange server to normal (without synching)
4. Now - first time contact app and phone app started again (with empty contacts)
5. Activated syncing of contacts in itunes again
6. If I now start the phone app first, the contact app is also working but
if I start the contact app again, it is not working (???).
My current workaround is to start the phone app and then the contact app.
This doesn't work all the time but often .
I assume there is a bug in the contacts app or in the interworking with the phone app. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Contacts app? no accounts. can't add one. won't save a new contact.

My Contacts app shows no accounts, I cannot add an account local or cloud, and if I add a contact it is not saved to disk. Anyone have any idea what is going on? and how I might fix it. Other apps in this group (Calendar, Mail, Notes, etc) seem to be working normally.

I'm having this as well. I have a 15 inch Retina MacBook Pro (late 2013). I added an iCloud account in the preferences panel, and it added it successfully to email and calendar but not contacts, even though it is checked. I've tried to add it from within contacts, signed out of iCloud and signed back in, and restarted the computer with no success.
I can't sync with iCloud or add a new contact.

Contacts app does not print company name on lists

contacts app prints the company name on envelope etc.
but unfortunately not on lists.

BUG REPORT: iPhone 4 Crashes When Adding Contact to Favorites

Here are the exact steps I went through to reproduce the problem.
Go to settings and set up an exchange account to work with Google Sync. The instructions are here:

After syncing your contacts, go to the Phone app. Go to Favorites and hit the "+" button to add a favorite. Use the search bar to find a contact (important). Once you find the person you want, select them from the list, and when you do, the app crashes.

I have no idea how to share this bug with Apple.
Go here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and choose *Bug Report* from *Feedback Type* popup menu.
Before doing that though, try to confirm that the same thing happens on other iPhone's and it does it after a reset or restore.

Restarting videos works and looks like video is getting deleted.

Is it possible to syncronize iphone contacts and windows 8 app PEOPLE?

I can't syncornize the iphone contacts with the app PEOPLE in windows 8. That app contains the contact that I can see in the APP MAIL.
Well, I can syncronize iphone contacts with gmail or windows contacts.
If I use the gmail way I can link a microsoft account to gmai land syncornize it with the app people. Ther e is a problem, The syncronization between the app and the microsoft account works well, but the syncronization between gmail and Microsoft account (outlook.com) doesn't work.
If I use the windows contact way I can't syncronize tose contact with those of the app PEOPLE.
Is there anyone who can help me?

What is the proper way to report suggestions for app features to Apple? Or, do they even want suggestions?
And, how about reporting app bugs? Should I just assume the bug is already known, or is there a way for (quickly) reporting them?

Finally, a Nokia Business Phone allows direct search from Contacts by typing the Company name, thanks for that.
However, when I tried to use Maps to navigate to a client company, it turned impossible to find the destination by entering the company name.

i just went to maps (im on 1.1.3) typed part of the name of one of my contacts it showed me a match - i clicked it and it mappped it fine
i then went to contacts- picked one - clicked on an address - and again it mapped it fine
just like it did when i was on 1.1.2
