Bug report: Search application - vpd results

Hi APEX team,
When I use the "Search application" to find text that appears in the Security Attributes->Database Session->Initialization code, I get two results
1) Attribute: Db Session Init Code (Identifies PL/SQL that is dynamically executed immediately after the user is authenticated and before any application logic is processed. This attribute can assign security policies to restrict access to database tables and views.)2) Attribute: Vpd (Deprecated. Use column DB_SESSION_INIT_CODE)>
I would only expect one.
Both open the Application Definition attribute instead of Security - which isn't a huge concern, but may be confusing to some.
Scott

    Is there a parameter (application, export, template, instance level) that we can set to prevent this ?

    Hi Patrick,
    The version info is: wwv_flow_api.set_version(p_version_yyyy_mm_dd=>'2009.01.12');
    This should be wwv_flow_api.set_version(p_version_yyyy_mm_dd=>'2012.01.01');
    ... but this error is due to a manual modification of the export file.
    We parameterise some values, so that the we can use the old-school DEFINE variables in our deploy process via SQL/plus.
    One of the developers made a copy-paste error when doing that ...
    So there is no bug !
    Thanks for the tip !!
    Kind regards,
    Karel

  • Bug Report: Enabling Application Frame forces all open documents into tabs

    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    Set Preferences -> Interface -> "Open Documents as Tabs" to OFF
    Open a bunch of documents. Observe that they are separate floating windows, which is good
    Choose Window -> "Application Frame" which will turn the default Application Frame off
    Choose Window -> "Application Frame" which will re-enable the Application Frame and force all of your open docs into tabs, which is undesired!

    Found another option which is helpful for those trying to rid themselves of tabs:
    Preferences -> Interface -> Uncheck "Enable Floating Document Window Docking"
    This will prevent you from accidentally dragging a document near the top of the Aplication Frame and having it sucked into a tab.
    That said, I think it is still a problem to have all documents brought into tabs when turning on Window -> Application Frame when all of the available "don't use tabs" options are chosen.

  • Bug report, how do I find out what is wrong?

    my computer keeps getting bug reports stuck all over the desktop. When I print them it is 3 pages long and I dont know how to use the information from it. It only occurs when my son is using Runescape an online game. My son says he has reported all the errors when the computer prompts him to. I did find an Bug Report that seems to be associated with this problem. Our computer did shut down occasionally also, but since I switched the location of the new memory I added it has not continued. The reason I am checking with this website is because this is where the reports are going. The first part of the error report from my computer is this:
    Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) occurred at PC=0x809D50E
    Function=JVM_FindSignal+0x10882
    Library=C:\PROGRA~1\Java\J2RE14~1.2\bin\client\jvm.dll
    Current Java thread:

         at a.run(Unknown Source)
         at client.run(Unknown Source)
         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
    And the last part of the report reads this:
    Local Time = Fri Mar 04 21:38:29 2005
    Elapsed Time = 58
    # HotSpot Virtual Machine Error : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

    # Please report this error at
    # http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.4.2-b28 mixed mode)
    What do I need to do to fix this problem? Could it be Runescapes issue? Is there other information that is more important to this? I really appreciate any help I can get with this problem. And I am sorry for being so long. I have included the Bug Report I found that is an almost exact duplicate of our issue.
    Thank you again, Linda Peterson.

    JavaJava13 Hey just wondering. Java is used for runescape on my computer, and it seems to be constantly crashing lately. Not only the game is crshing, it seems to even take down the whole computer with it. Sometimes the computer restarts and I get an error message.
    "Your system has recovered from a serious error"
    Java continues to add error reports to my desktop with this code: 4F530E43505002EF
    Anyone help?

    try checking with runescapes FAQ/tech support. I play
    WC3: RoC and i only got that same memory location
    error(0xc0000005). I got that memory error when I
    used a no-cd third party program when they upgraded
    the server. So, my advice is check on the FAQ for
    errors and ask your son if he is using
    ANY third party programs.The 0xc0000005 error is a standard error on Windows that can occur for any number of reasons.
    It means something in the application tried to access memory to which windows knows the application should not be accessing.

  • Apex Builder "Search Application" Bug?

    Hello there,
    In 4.2, in the builder if you try to search 'left' or 'right' in the Search Application field you obtain the following error :
    ORA-20555: ORA-00904: "TEMPLATE_ID": invalid identifier (view: APEX_APPL_TEMP_PAGE_DP-PAGE_TMPL_DISPLAY_POINT_ID-20861575178559085430)

  • FAQ: I found a bug. How do I write a useful bug report? Or send bug files to Adobe?

    If you think you've found a bug in Photoshop CS6, please post your findings here on the forums.
    Here is a list of the information we'll want for you to gather at a minimum:
    Clear and concise steps so that someone who isn't in front of your comptuer can reproduce the issue you are seeing
    Include information on the operating system/version you are running. (e.g. "Mac OS 10.7.3" or "Win XP Service Pack 3")
    Here are some more detailed instructions for writing a useful, complete bug report for us on the forums:
    Provide a descriptive title that includes your OS information:Example: "Photoshop crashes when I save a JPEG file using the File>Save For Web & Devices... command (Mac OS 10.7.3)"
    Provide concise, step-by-step details on how to reproduce the issue you are seeing.
    Example:
    Open an 8-bit, RGB image by selecting File>Open...
    Create a new layer by clicking the "Create New Layer" button on the bottom of the Layers panel
    Paint on the layer created in Step #2 using the default Brush tool
    Choose File>Save For Web & Devices...
    Make sure the optimized format is set to "JPEG" and set the Quality setting to "80"
    Click the Save button at the bottom of the Save For Web & Devices dialog, choose the desktop as the location for saving the file
    Provide a description of the "Result" you are observing:
    Example: "Result: Photoshop crashes"
    If there is an error dialog, please include the exact wording displayed in the dialog or provide a screen shot or video of the entire screen so we can see the dialog as well as the state of the application - i.e. what panels are shown, the state of the Layers panel, etc.
    If the error is a visual defect, either in the user interface or the image itself, provide a screen shot or video of the entire screen so we can see the dialog as well as the state of the application - i.e. what panels are shown, the state of the Layers panel, etc.
    Provide a description of the "Expected Result":
    Example: "Expected Result: Photoshop to save JPEG file to the desktop, no crash"
    In some cases this may be obvious (such as in the case of a crash) but in others, what you expect to happen may be different than what the application was designed to do. Please be as specific as possible.
    Provide the crash log by submitting all crash reports, including your email address, for every single crash your encounter:
    You may also include the contents of your crash log in your forum posts as well, but always submit them using the above instructions as well.
    Crash logs are located on Macintosh here: Users/<your user name>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter
    Provide your System Info from Photoshop: What's even more useful is if you can share your System Info from Photoshop as it contains all kinds of useful information (OS/version, graphics card, driver version, 3rd party plug-ins used, etc) that will help the team track down your issue.
    On occasion, the Photoshop engineers may request that you provide problematic files in order to reproduce and debug your issue.
    In these cases, please post the file somewhere using your own servers or one your favorite online document/distribution services and provide a URL/instructions to download the file:
    Dropbox
    Adobe SendNow
    YouSendIt
    If the file isn't something you can post publically, you can request that someone from the engineering team contact you to figure out a secure way to get the affected files.
    Thanks,
    The Photoshop Development Team

    First thing would be to realise the exact error. Second would be to check your logs to see what you have installed/upgraded which might be causing this error. Third, google your error and see if matches turn up. Fourth, search in Arch bugtracker to see if a match exist. Else file a report.

  • Bug Report: New conversation window stills the sys...

    Bug Report: Skype Desktop: New conversation window stills the system/keyboard focus.
    When the UI is in multi-window mode and a conversation window pops up (due for example to a newly received chat message), that window steals the system/keyboard focus, even though it appears in a minimized state in the Windows taskbar. And this should not happen by default, because it is impractical (especially for screen reader users). And it didn't happen in Skype 6.21 and earlier. But since the new UI was introduced officially in Skype 7.0, it started happening constantly.
    Steps to reproduce it:
    1. From "View" menu, activate the "Split Window View", if it is not already enabled.
    2. From Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM settings, enable "Open a new window when I receive a new message in Split Window View", if it is not already enabled.
    3. From Tools -> Options -> Advanced, activate "Enable accessible mode", if it is not already enabled.
    4. Activate the "Save" button, to save the changes.
    5. Close all windows, related to Skype. You may keep only the main window opened.
    6. Move the system focus to another application.
    7. Tell someone to send you a chat message. When the message arrives and the conversation window pops up minimized in the Windows Taskbar, everything seams to be as it should. A few seconds after that however, the system/keyboard focus gets moved to that new conversation window, even though it is neither restored/maximized (it is minimized), nor it is visible on the screen (except as a button in the taskbar).
    Actual results:
    When a new conversation window pops up in the Windows taskbar, it stills the system/keyboard focus to itself from the currently focused application.
    Expected results:
    Skype's popping up new conversation windows should not still the system/keyboard focus to themselfs from the currently focused application.
    Test environment:
    - Operating system: Windows 8.1 Pro N, 64-bit, in Bulgarian with all locale settings set to "Bulgarian".
    - Skype version: 7.0.0.102 for Desktop.

    This is a known problem, but Skype have not given us an estimated time for a fix.
    Traditionally, Skype updates have been roughly monthly, so we are due a new version sometime soon. Many of us here are hoping that is has a bunch of fixes for the UI, the focus problem being one of them.

  • 30EA2 - Search Source Code results - Go To package name problem

    As mentioned here 2.1 RC1 - Search Source Code results -> Go To <package name> doesn't work , Reports -> Data Dictionary -> PLSQL -> Search Source Code -> right-click -> Go To doesn't go to the specific line: can this be fixed?
    Alessandro

    Sorry Vadim, but the procedure to reproduce the bug is different:
    1) Open the Reports tab
    2) Expand Data Dictionary node
    3) Expand PLSQL node
    4) Click on Search Source Code
    5) Select a Connection
    6) Click on Text Search, enter a string to search and click Apply
    7) On the results page, right-click any line and select Go To <package name>
    8) The package opens on line 1, not the line shown on step 7
    While we're at it, do you think it would be possible to make the above process more user-friendly? Like, for example, right-clicking on a Connection and have the Search Source Code option there (that would take me directly to step 6)?
    Regards.
    Alessandro

  • "Invalid number" error using Interactive Report search  on collection

    hi -- I have several interactive reports based on collections. In the IR reqion query definition,
    I cast the collection values as needed (number, date, etc). Everything's been working great.
    In both development and production, I can use the search feature of interactive reports
    and it finds rows containing the text I type in (as well as everything else working fine...)
    I just imported a new version of an application into our production database. Now, when I use the
    interactive report search, I always get "invalid number". This even happens on interactive reports
    that still work in the previous version of the production application... and these IRS
    have not been modified at all.
    If I create a filter and search for "elevation" in a string column, the filter works. If I create a filter
    searching for "elevation" in a number column, I get "invalid number". (In the development
    environment, I can do the latter -- it just doesn't find any rows.)
    Clearly it's choking on the types of the columns in the IR... but why now and not before, and why
    in the production database but not the development DB? Both are running 4.0.1.00.03.
    This is a pretty major loss of functionality... and it comes at a really bad time... Help?!
    Thanks,
    Carol

    hi Andy, Tony -- Completely understand about your email address. I've actually wondered at the fact that any
    of you gurus are willing to give them out.
    It's not tons of stuff, so here it is.
    1) The application process that creates the collection. This process that runs whenever an IR
    page is being rendered. The various DB names are application items. This application can affect data
    on multiple databases. You'll see see this in the process that builds the query.
    IF (apex_collection.collection_exists (
        p_collection_name=>'IR_COLLECTION')) then
        apex_collection.delete_collection(p_collection_name=>'IR_COLLECTION');
    END IF;
    apex_collection.create_collection_from_query_b(p_collection_name=>'IR_COLLECTION', p_query=>meta_data_pkg.build_ir_collection_query(:TABLE_NAME, :MASTER_DB_NAME, :CZAR_DB_NAME, :DB_NAME));2) The database function that constructs the query. Called in the above create_collection statement.
    FUNCTION build_ir_collection_query (table_name varchar2, master_db_name varchar2, czar_db_name varchar2, ref_db_name varchar2)
    return varchar2
    IS
      query VARCHAR2(3000);
    BEGIN
      IF /* check for other table names here */ THEN
        -- build queries for other tables
       -- *** HDB_EXT_DATA_CODE
      ELSIF (upper(table_name) in ('HDB_EXT_DATA_CODE', 'HDB_EXT_DATA_CODE_SYN')) THEN
        query := 'SELECT /*+DRIVING_SITE(dcs)*/ dc.ext_data_code_sys_id, dcs.ext_data_code_sys_name, dcs.agen_id, a.agen_name, dc.primary_data_code,';
        query := query||' dc.secondary_data_code, dc.hdb_datatype_id, d.datatype_name, d.unit_id, u.unit_name, d.physical_quantity_name, to_char(dc.date_time_loaded,''DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'')';
        query := query||' FROM hdb_ext_data_code_syn@'||master_db_name || ' dc, hdb_ext_data_code_sys_syn@'||master_db_name ||
                 ' dcs, hdb_agen_syn@'||master_db_name||' a, hdb_datatype_syn@'||master_db_name||' d, hdb_unit@'||czar_db_name||' u';
        query := query||' WHERE dc.ext_data_code_sys_id = dcs.ext_data_code_sys_id AND dcs.agen_id = a.agen_id(+) AND dc.hdb_datatype_id = d.datatype_id AND d.unit_id = u.unit_id';
       /* continue w/ other tables */
    END;3) The query that it builds for the table in question:
    SELECT /*+DRIVING_SITE(dcs)*/ dc.ext_data_code_sys_id, dcs.ext_data_code_sys_name, dcs.agen_id, a.agen_name,
    dc.primary_data_code, dc.secondary_data_code, dc.hdb_datatype_id, d.datatype_name, d.unit_id, u.unit_name,
    d.physical_quantity_name, to_char(dc.date_time_loaded,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS')

    Hi there
    Sorry, no magick bullet or incantation to offer here other than to say you should probably report it as a bug to Adobe.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Confused after reading bug report

    Hello,
    I'm working on a desktop application which utilizes the system tray. I have an icon set with a popup menu that is triggered when the user left-clicks on the icon. Originally I was using java.awt.PopupMenu but then came across javax.swing.JPopupMenu which looks a little nicer and has support for icons. For the most part it works great. However I noticed that when the user triggers the popup menu more than once (i.e. the user left-clicks the tray icon twice or more times), a ClassCastException is thrown. After doing a bit of searching, I came across [this bug report|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6583251] and many others describing the issue I was having.
    According to the report, the evaluation is:
    Everything is clear
    we shouldn't cast mouseEvent.getSource() to Component without checkingUnfortunately this still leaves me a little confused. I mean, it does sort of let me know where the problem is happening (in the MouseListener portion of my Tray Menu where I am trying to detect the popup trigger), but I don't understand if this means that there is a way to prevent this from happening or not.
    In other words, I think the bug is coming from this block of code (correct me if I am mistaken):
    public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {
              if ( e.isPopupTrigger() ) {
                   this.setLocation( e.getX(), e.getY() );
                   this.setInvoker( this );
                   this.setVisible( true );
         }Where e is apparently being casted to a Component, thus causing the error. Now, why this error occurs when the user clicks twice or more on the icon, I don't really understand. Ultimately, my question is: Is there any other way this can be written to prevent the error?
    One solution would be to simply use java.awt.PopupMenu, but I want to make sure there isn't a better solution first as JPopupMenu looks much nicer.. but if I have no other option, I will of course substitute looks for function.
    Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
    (Apologies if this is the wrong forum. I was originally going to post this in the Swing forum, but the error actually cites AWT, yet I'm using a Swing component.. so I figured the Java Programming forum would be alright. Well, please feel free to move it if necessary.)

    ejp wrote:
    The exception stack trace tells you where the exception is being thrown from. It certainly isn't from that code, because there are no class casts of any kind there, let alone casts of e.getSource() to Component.Hi ejp, thank you for the response. My apologies.. I only assumed that e.isPopupTrigger() was throwing the exception because the bug report mentioned mouse events, and the stack trace doesn't specify where the error is within my code (e.g. the line, method, or even which class is throwing the error that I've written, though it does cite other Java classes not written by me). The e.getSource() in actionPerformed() was my next guess because that and the MouseListener are the only two places where I am detecting events. Nevertheless, I still don't believe that I am using casting, so I'm not sure how to fix this.

Normally I can figure out problems like these with Google, but again, when I did Google this, I came across the bug report which describes my issue exactly (but at the same time, left me wondering what the solution is).
    Again, any help is appreciated. Thanks again, ejp!

  • No place for bug reports?

    I'm evaluating StarOffice both for my own use and recommendation to my clients. Today I encountered a clear bug -- an RTF file that other applications (incl. MS Word) open correctly but which causes StarOffice to crash. Looking on the Sun site I find no place for bug reports -- anyone who wants to report a bug must in effect pay for the privlege.
    Seems like a serious problem and one which would make it impossible to recommend the suite to clients.

    2. Open suspect RTF file, file loads and displays the first page of the document
    3. Click the slider on the right side of the screen to page down to the next section of the document
    At this point StarOffice crashes and you're presented with the CDE login screen.
    Analysis:
    This seemed to happen to only one of the 3 users using StarOffice. The same document opened by another user did not produce the same crash result.
    Solution:
    Deleted the .staroffice8 directory in the user's home directory and restarted StarOffice
    Result:
    Suspect document now loads and scrolls properly without crashing.
    Hope this helps.

  • The search application 'guid' on server 'servername' did not finish loading

    Hi all,
    When trying to administer the content sources of the SharePoint Search Service I'm getting the following error:
    The search application '74ae6181-7c32-4225-adbb-b630129c56c9' on server NLAMSAPP27 did not finish loading. View the event logs on the affected server for more information.
    I have been searching the web for solutions, but apart from deleting and rebuilding the Search service (which I don't want to do at this point in time) I have not really encountered any useful suggestions.
    Below is what I see in the trace log files.
    Does anybody have a clue?
    Regards,
    Vladja

    Hi all,
    I noticed something weird later:
    When listing all service applications in the farm by using the following powershell command
    Get-SPServiceApplication I got the below result.
    However, this list does not contain the GUID listed in my error message:
    The search application '74ae6181-7c32-4225-adbb-b630129c56c9'
    on server NLAMSAPP27 did not finish loading. View the event logs on the affected server for more information.
    How can this be?!
    Or is there a difference between a Search Application and a
    Search Service Application?

  • Solaris8 and 9 (possibly 7) /dev/poll driver bug report.

    Hello,
    I'd like to report a bug in the solaris 8 and 9 /dev/poll driver (poll(7d)).
    As i do not have a support account with sun or anything like that, there
    seems to be no other way to do that here (which is of course a very sad
    thing).
    Bug details:
    The /dev/poll device provides an ioctl-request (DP_ISPOLLED) for checking
    if a particular filedescriptor is currently in the set of monitored
    filedescriptors for that particular /dev/poll fd set (open /dev/poll fd).
    A quote from the documentation of the poll(7d) manual page taken from
    Solaris9:
    "DP_ISPOLLED ioctl allows you to query if a file descriptor is already in
    the monitored set represented by fd. The fd field of the pollfd structure
    indicates the file descriptor of interest. The DP_ISPOLLED ioctl returns 1
    if the file descriptor is in the set. The events field contains the
    currently polled events. The revents field contains 0. The ioctl returns 0
    if the file descriptor is not in the set. The pollfd structure pointed by
    pfd is not modified. The ioctl returns a -1 if the call fails."
    It says that when you query for an filedescriptor which is currently being
    monitored in the set, that it would return 1, and change the events field of
    the pollfd structure to the events it's currently monitoring that fd for.
    The revents field would be set to zero.
    However the only thing which actually happens here, is that FD_ISPOLLED
    returns 1 when the fd is in the set and 0 if not. When the fd is in the
    set, when FD_ISPOLLED returns 1, the events field remains unmodified, but
    the revents field gets changed.
    A small sample code to illustrate:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <unistd.h>
    #include <sys/types.h>
    #include <sys/stat.h>
    #include <fcntl.h>
    #include <sys/devpoll.h>
    main() {
    struct pollfd a;
    int dp_fd = open("/dev/poll", O_WRONLY);
    a.fd = 0; /* stdin */
    a.events = POLLIN; /* we monitor for readability, POLLIN=1 */
    a.revents = 0;
    write(dp_fd, &a, sizeof(a));
    a.fd = 0;
    a.events = 34; /* filled in with bogus number to show malfunctioning */
    a.revents = 0;
    printf("DP_ISPOLLED returns: %d\n", ioctl(dp_fd, DP_ISPOLLED, &a));
    printf("a.fd=%d, a.events=%hd, a.revents=%hd\n", a.fd, a.events,
    a.revents);
    According to the documentation of /dev/poll and namely DP_ISPOLLED this
    program is supposed to print the following:
    DP_ISPOLLED returns: 1
    a.fd=0, a.events=1, a.revents=0
    However it prints the following:
    DP_ISPOLLED returns: 1
    a.fd=0, a.events=34, a.revents=1
    You can take any number instead of '34' and it will simply remain untouched
    after the DP_ISPOLLED ioctl-request.
    I hope it's clear now that the solaris8 and solaris9 (and probably solaris7
    with /dev/poll patch too) DP_ISPOLLED implementation is broken.
    This bug is also easily illustrated by looking at the solaris8 kernel sourcecode:
    <snippet osnet_volume/usr/src/uts/common/io/devpoll.c:dpioctl()>
    case DP_ISPOLLED:
    pollfd_t pollfd;
    polldat_t *pdp;
    if (pollfd.fd < 0) {
    mutex_exit(&pcp->pc_lock);
    break;
    pdp = pcache_lookup_fd(pcp, pollfd.fd);
    if ((pdp != NULL) && (pdp->pd_fd == pollfd.fd) &&
    (pdp->pd_fp != NULL)) {
    pollfd.revents = pdp->pd_events;
    if (copyout(&pollfd, (caddr_t)arg,
    sizeof(pollfd_t))) {
    mutex_exit(&pcp->pc_lock);
    DP_REFRELE(dpep);
    return (set_errno(EFAULT));
    *rvalp = 1;
    </snippet>
    its' clearly visible that the code writes the current monitored events to
    the revents field:
    'pollfd.revents = pdp->pd_events;'
    and that it doesnt set revents to zero.
    It's funny to see that this has been like this since Solaris8 (possibly 7). That means nobody ever used DP_ISPOLLED that way or people were simply to lazy to file a bug report.
    Another funny thing related to this. is that Hewlett-Packard did seem to know about this. Since HP-UX11i version 1.6 they also support /dev/poll. From their manual page i ll quote some sentences from their WARNING session:
    "The ioctl(DP_ISPOLLED) system call also returns its result in the revents member of the pollfd structure, in order to be compatible with the implementation of the /dev/poll driver by some other vendors."
    Hopefully this will get fixed.
    I also like to reexpress my very negative feelings towards the fact that you're not able to file bug reports when you do not have a support contract. Ridiculous.
    Thanks,
    bighawk
