Bug Report: unable to install CS6 beta

I downloaded and unzipped CS6 beta and installation started OK but gave an error that Photoshop Bridge was running and should be closed. I closed it and got an error that some background programs were running that should be closed. Not knowing which of the very many background programs were affecting the installation, I closed Windows and rebooted. Now the installion program consistently fails to initialize. I have done system restore and downloaded and unzipped CS6 beta again and nothing enables installation to continue. I am using Windows 7 Professional (with and without Virtual XP running) on a Dell Inspiron laptop. Any cures for this?

I'm having trouble installing CS6 beta; when I try, it says to close background processes - specifically Bridge, which is NOT open. In fact, I just turned the computer on and tried to install what was dowloaded last night. Any ideas?

Are you on Mac or windows?
If you check the Task manager in Win (CTRL+Shift+Esc), or the ForceQuit applications dialog (CMD+Opt+ESC) do you see any Bridge, or other Adobe applications running?

CRVS2010 Beta - Unable to Install CR Beta 2 for Visual Studio 2010.

I am unable to install Crystal Reports for VS2010. "Failed to update cache for execution."
There is a similar thread (locked) with this problem. (CRVS2010 beta 2 - error during install)
I have tried everything from this tread, and everything else I can think of. I am out of options.
I appreciate any help.

Hi MF,
I had a problem with changing my default temp folders installing another third party program, not any CR stuff.
I changed my temp folders back to the defaults and then it worked. I tried changing the permissions for all users on c:\temp and c:\tmp but that didn't help either for the other program.
Only way it would work was to use the default temp folder structure.
Try changing yours back to c:\User\appdata\local\temp
Clear the temp folder out first and try again.
Something, not sure if it was Windows or anti-virus or the firewall was blocking access. Odd that it gets part way so likely some third party dependency on that file doesn't like or get to your c:\temp folder.

Unable to install CS6 master collection for mac book pro(late 2011)

Recently, I have successfully downloaded Adobe creative suite CS6 master collection for MAC.
However, I am unable to install it. After opening the installer nothing happens, it does not proceed further. I have tried copying the contents from MasterCollection_CS6_LS16.dmg to another folder and then open the install.app, still no progress.
Please advice since I really need to install this.

The situation is like this, I downloaded the image on my desktop pc(which is windows) and then compress & split the image using a winrar. I then transferred the files to my mac book pro and extracted the image there. Unfortunately, there was a bug in the unarchiver software that I was using on mac to extract the image.
This bug was rectified today in a update given out by the dev.
Now, I can install CS6 without any issues. Thanks for the repsonse once again.

Unable to uninstall cs6 beta version due to Adobe Application Manager error

A few weeks ago I installed the beta version of cs6 but never was able to run that program due to the Adobe Application Manager error I received each time I attempted to launch it. I never found any solutions on the internet so I just gave up. Recently I purchased Photoshop cs6 anyway, however, in order to install cs6 you must uninstall the beta version of cs6. Unfortunately Windows 7 will not uninstall the beta version. Each time I click on uninstall, nothing happens. Until I can uninstall the beta version, I will not be able to install my newly purchased Photoshop cs6. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. The tool can clean up install records for any pre-release (beta) installations of these Creative Suite products.

If I install CS6 extended beta will I have a problem installing the non-extended version of CS6 when it is released?

Last time there was an uninstaller for the public beta.
But anyways, it should make no problem!

Unable to install CS6 Design & Web Premium

I have a valid serial number, so trying to install CS6 direct download. I'm unable to extract the .7z file. If I try running the .exe file, I get a message stating that I either don't have privileges or there's not enough disk space. I'm logged into an admin account and there's plenty of disk space. This message is then followed by several more error messages. I've checked the forums and haven't found a thread that addresses the same problem. Although this website indicates chat is available, for the life of me, I'm can't get to a point where I can open a chat with a live person. I just end up back at the support start page. It seems Adobe has gone the way of cellphone and cable companies when it comes to customer support. Or lack thereof.

You have not provided any system info, so we can't really know. Your phrasing as "an admin" account is suspicious, since not all admins do necessarily have all privileges and being an admin and having administrative privileges are different things. Likewise, while you may have plenty of disk space, you may not have it in the right locations like your user temp folder. Anyway, without exact details it's impossible to figure out what is wrong here.

Unable to install CS6 because of pre-release version

hello,
some background info: I'm on Windows 7 running on 64bit.
i'm trying to install CS6 but a message saying that the pre prelease version of CS6 in my computer needs to be uninstalled. i tried uninstalling it but it wasn't showing up when i went to the control panel. so i went and deleted the folders/files. probably a stupid idea. i learned about the adoble creative suite clean up tool and used it to remove all the remaining files that were left uninstalled. but after running the clean up tool and rebooting my computer twice, i still recieved the same error message. is there another way to fix this? did i do something wrong? thank you!

Error #2038 - unable to install CS6 on 10.8.3 brand new iMac

I have attempted to install CS6 creative suite from both the Adobe site and also from an .iso file - both times, it fails to install. Instead, I get the following (and cryptic) error message:
Sorry, an error has occurred.
The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author.
Error# 2038
I did have previous versions of Adobe products on this mac, but erased those files. I downloaded several application cleaners and none of them found a trace of Adobe products.
I verified font book and deleted all problematic fonts.
Any other ideas?
I'm desperate.

The difficulty you are currently facing with the Adobe Download Assistant can be solved by removing the currently installed Adobe Download Assistant from your applications folder. Prior to installing CS6 I would recommend running any available uninstallers located in the Applicatons/Utilities/Adobe Installers for CS6. If you are very lucky this should clear up any additional installation issues you may face.
If you do face any additional difficulties with installing CS6, not the Adobe Download Assistant as referenced in your screenshot, then please remove any remaining Adobe Creative software and follow this by running the CS Cleaner tool. Bug report: Unable to delete theme

Has any progress been made on tracking down this bug? Is this fixed in Apex 2.2?
Would you like me to send you a full application export of one of my applications? That application has 6 themes (in addition to the current theme), that we were experimenting with. We finally decided on one of the themes and so I wanted to delete the 6 unused themes to reduce the size of the full app export file (because it is checked into VSS and stuff).
But, because of this bug, I am unable to delete any theme from this application.

Unable to install CS6

I had to uninstall CS6 due to my computer ( I have a Mac Pro OS X 10.8.4) crash and now unable to reinstall it.
The following message appears:
""Some items for the following products could not be installed successfully"
I uninstalled it once again as well as using the clean tool but still getting the same message when installing the product again.

Does it give you the option to check "error summary" when it says they have no installed correctly? Because that might be able to tell you where your problem is.

Unable to install CS6 to a second computer

I'm trying to install my purchased Photoshop CS6 extended to a 2nd computer. When entering the provided serial number, I get the message "the serial number is valid, but a qualifying product can't be found in this computer". I previously uninstalled the software from another 2nd computer.

Did you de-activate it before you un-installed it? If not, as far as Adobe are concerned the software is still on that computer.
Unless you tell them, Adobe have no way of knowing that you un-install, the check when you install is automatic.
If you did not de-activate, then you will have to install a system image with Photoshop still present (if you have one) or re-install Photoshop to where it was, and then de-activate before removing it.
You will probably also need to remove it from the new install before you start, and even then you may have to phone Adobe to sort out the activation mess.

Yes, AE also uses ACR. Perfectly normal. run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, try again.
