Since updating to Firefox 6.0 I am no longer able to add bookmarks on Yahoo Toolbarl. I receive the following Java Error message: "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function." Is this a comparability issue that you are not aware of? Below are the versions of Firefox and Yahoo Toolbar that I currently have installed:

I am having this issue on my laptop and desktop. Since I use both computers the Yahoo toolbar has been great for having my bookmarks available on both computers at the same time but no I don't have that feature. I'm told that Google's toolbar also doesn't work either.
Do you guys do any testing or Quality Assurance testing before releasing these versions?

Add-ons are the responsibility of their authors. McAfee does not even put their extension on http://addons.mozilla.org you had to install it from their site.
Disable "McAfee Site Advisor" extension which was just updated to 3.4.0, which probably took it out of the addons block list.
* "Ctrl+Shift+A" > find McAfee Site Advisor and use "Disable", and then restart Firefox.
* Do a Google Search no problem
* It seems that if you re-enable Site Advisor again, and restart Firefox you are okay. At least you know where to look if you get the error again or Google searches slow down.

The following keeps popping up before firefox will load, Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function

There is a pop up box, it says,"Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function" It pops up before Firefox will load, what is it?

Other than moving to Version 4 or 5, neither of which support Java which I need, is there a way to fix the "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function" bug I am getting in version 3.6.23?

I have used Version 4 and 5 and unfortunately neither supports Java functions that I require. I like the look and feel of 3.6.23 but there seems to be a script error on startup of Mozilla. When I double click the Icon to open the program I get "'''Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function'''" and so far haven't been able to locate the code line to fix it. I would rather not reverse Engineer the program.

Error code when firefox starts= Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function. And when Firefox starts up it has a "problem loading page" and can't find any servers. Explorer works, so I know it's not my network connection.

this all happened after updating to the latest version of mozilla firefox. I have a Dell XP400 if that makes a difference.

Tried disabling all add-ins individually, problem still there. But when I restart via help menu / restart with add-ons disabled, the problem goes away. I do have mcafee installed but the site advisor has been disabled for ages.

I occasionally get error messages popping up when I run Firefox 7. The messages often say "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: oSAPlg.oRoot.log is not a function". does anyone know how to fix this?

After I downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox, I started getting these error messages every so often when I launched the browser. These messages will usually pop up every third time or so I open the browser and pop up on every page, sometimes multiple times, and I have to clear them away before I can do anything on the page. You can disable McAfee Site Advisor and test. Disabling Site Advisor should not affect the functioning of McAfee; you should still be protected. Firefox continues to load streaming videos even after the tab is closed

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, and I've noticed that whenever I go to load a video (from Youtube, for example), and close the tab before the video finishes loading, Firefox would still be downloading that video.
I can tell because my normal ping to a local server is about 50-60ms. Then when I begin loading the video, it'll jump up to about 800+ms. I close the tab, but the ping continues at this rate. If I go to another video, begin loading that, and close it before it finishes in the same fashion, it will stack, and Firefox will be loading two videos at once (my ping will spike to 1600ms).
This is an extremely annoying issue since my internet connection is on the slow side.

SOLVED!
The hidden download was caused by a Firefox extension named GrabPro, included in "Orbit Downloader" boundle.
GrabPro caches all streamed media, providing a way for save it quickly.
You can disable this feature unchecking the "Enable Recorder" option in its configuration dialog.
This sofware was present on all my tested systems.
That was the cause of my confusion.

[S] Firefox hangs on KDE install after all windows and tabs are closed

When I launch Firefox from KDE, the process hangs around consuming ~70-100% CPU of at least one core after closing all windows and tabs. We have to kill the process manually or say File->Quit and issue the real exit command instead of just closing all tabs. I ran strace and found that Firefox is poll()ing something as fast as it can after all windows are destroyed, causing the CPU increase. Anyone know how I can fix this? I've already tried a different profile and pacman -Rnd to no effect.

I've solved this by removing gtk-qt-engine; without gtk-qt-engine, firefox behaves as expected.

After upgrading to Firefox 9.0.1, on first run after every reboot, the following warning apears for every installed Add-on. "Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on"

So, i have to "Enable" my installed Add-ons on each reboot.
Would you please help me !
P.S.: I found that these files (and some others) will be deleted on each reboot, and it happens on computer start up (not at shut down)!

And as i mentioned, i have the same anti virus on my laptop and desktop, but i have not any problem on laptop.

Do you have security software that acts like a sandbox or uses virtualization to restore files on a next boot?

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
